Sansa and Arya were saddened to learn of Bran's death, but they promised Brian and Stewie that they would do whatever they could to help them fight Bill Cipher and his White Walkers.
That evening, there was a council. All the northern lords came, including a few who had not taken part into the battle, like Lord Robett Glover and Lady Jonelle Cerwyn. The lords from the Vale were in attendance too, along with Tormund and his wildlings. The presence of the wildlings greatly displeased Lord Yohn Royce of the Vale.
"Are we expected to ally with these wildling invaders?" he demanded.
"They're not invaders," said Arya, who was wearing Quagmire's face again.
"Yeah, Brian invited us into the realm," said Tormund.
Brian said, "The free folk fought side by side with the Northmen and the knights of the Vale, and we won. Lord Peter Griffin used to say that true friends are found on the battlefield. We've all gotta work together if we want to survive."
"Why do we even need to work together anymore?" said Lord Glover. "The Boltons have already been defeated."
"Yeah, thanks for all your help with that, by the way," Stewie said sarcastically.
"The war is over now," said Lady Cerwyn. "Winter has arrived, the coldest one in a thousand years. I propose everyone should ride home and wait out the coming storms."
"The Boltons might be gone, but the real war is just beginning," Brian countered. "And the true enemy doesn't wait out the storm, he brings the storm."
Everyone began arguing at once, until young Lyanna Mormont stood up. "House Mormont remembers. The north remembers," she said. "House Mormont knows no king but the king in the north, whose name is Griffin." Stewie smiled, thinking she was going to declare him king.
However, Lyanna's next words were, "I don't care if he's a bloody direwolf." The smile faded from Stewie's face as he realized Lyanna was talking about Brian, not him.
Then Shelly Marsh stood up. "After my father was killed at the Red Wedding, I sided with the Boltons so I wouldn't meet his fate," she said. "But I was wrong. Brian has avenged the Red Wedding. He's the White Wolf, and the true king in the north!"
She knelt before Brian and placed her sword at his feet, just as her father Randy had done to Chris, such a long time ago.
Robett Glover was next to stand. "Shelly Marsh is right. I should have stood and fought beside Brian in this battle, but I didn't. However, there will be more fights to come, in which House Glover will stand behind House Griffin, just as it has for a thousand years!" He laid his sword at Brian's feet as well. "The king in the north!" he declared.
Inspired, the rest of the assembly, including the Vale lords, stood up, following the example and hailing Brian as king in the north. Even Davos joined in.

"It's so weird, watching someone from another family get crowned king over our domain," said Sansa. The council was over now, and she and Arya were talking privately.
"I know," said Arya. "But what are you gonna do? Now that Bill has reset everything, the Griffins are the rulers of the north."
"I wonder what's going to happen after Bill is defeated," said Sansa. "Are we going to take back our places? Are Brian and Stewie going to go back to their world? And what about all the other people from other worlds?"
"I have no idea," Arya admitted. "But right now, the important thing is stopping Bill. We'll stand with Stewie and Brian and give them all the help we can. And after Bill is taken care of, we can discuss what happens next… if we're still alive."

In another part of the castle, Brian was talking to Stewie. "You should be king, not me," Brian said. "You're Peter Griffin's son. I'm just his pet."
Stewie gave Brian a weak smile. "Don't worry about it. I've already got my hands full being the three-eyed raven, without being king in the north as well."
"I don't want to feel like I'm cheating you out of your inheritance," Brian persisted.
"I said, don't worry about it," Stewie repeated. He turned his wheelchair around and started to roll away.
"Wait, where are you going?" Brian asked.
"I thought I'd go out to the godswood for a while," Stewie said.
"What, this late at night?"
"Yeah, I have something I need to take care of."
"Well… okay," Brian said. "You sure you're not mad at me?"
"Brian, I'm not mad," Stewie promised. "You're gonna make a fantastic king, and I'll be right beside you every step of the way."
He left Brian and went out to the godswood. Bran had told him he could access more visions by pressing his hand against a heart tree. Stewie hadn't had a chance to try it until now, but now that Ramsay had been defeated, he had a bit of spare time.
He wheeled himself up to the heart tree in the center of the godswood. Then he pressed his palm against the face carved into the bark, and another vision began.
Stewie found himself inside the room at the very top of the Tower of Joy. His father Peter was standing over a bed.
Peter's sister, Lyanna Griffin, was lying on the bed, holding a baby in her arms. She was dying.
"Holy crap!" Peter was saying. "Where did that kid come from?"
"She's my daughter, Peter," Lyanna said. "Mine and Rhaegar's."
"So, he did rape you after all?" said Peter. "That bastard! I'd kill him if he wasn't already dead!"
"No, Peter," said Lyanna. "Rhaegar didn't rape me. I loved Rhaegar, and he loved me. In fact, he and I were secretly married!"
Rhaegar and Lyanna had been married! This was quite a shock to Stewie. Along with everyone else in Westeros, he had always thought Rhaegar had abducted Lyanna and forced himself on her before killing her. But now it seemed she had willingly eloped with him. And if they had been married, that meant their child was…
"If you an' Rhaegar were married, that means your kid is the heir to the Iron Throne!" Peter cried.
"If Robert finds out, he'll kill her," Lyanna said. "You have to protect her."
"How am I supposed to do that?" Peter asked.
"Take her back to Winterfell and pretend she's your own daughter," she said. "Promise me, Peter. Promise me."
With tears in his eyes, Peter said, "I promise."
Lyanna pulled the pink hat off her head and held it out to Peter. "And I want her to have this."
"Okay," said Peter. "So, does she have a name?"
"Her name," said Lyanna, "is Megon Targaryen. But for short, I call her Meg."
