Hurrying outside, she hopped in her car and headed to the shrine. It had been a while since she'd gotten a call and admittedly, Kagome had been pleased with the relative silence.
Still, as a miko, she had certain duties, especially the ones her grandfather could no longer perform. When she reached the shrine, she ran up the stairs and was breathing heavy by the time she reached the small dojo behind the house. Grandfather was already there.
"Ji-chan," she murmured, dropping into a bow.
"Kagome." He returned the bow before standing and motioning her to the small changing room. "Quickly now. This one is strong."
Nodding, she grabbed the small bag by the door and quickly changed into her Miko garb, the traditional red hakama and white gi. "What level?" she called as she tucked and tied.
"Five. You will need your katana, I think."
Five. That was one of the highest levels of rogue youkai in the area. She hadn't fought one of those in a very long time, not since before her marriage. She swallowed and squashed the nerves, knowing they would only make her worry and worrying could be her end. "Right. Katana."
