"I am beginning to feel bad for the guards," Rory stated sipping at her morning coffee, glancing at the car parked out front, having just minutes before taken them a thermos of coffee and four poptarts.

"Getting them back here quickly, especially if you want the same guys, is trickier than having them stay where they are," Logan stated.

"But it's been quiet for some time now, perhaps it is time to go back to living like normal people," she suggested.

"Are we normal?" Logan asked, raising his eyebrows.

"Well I guess I try to be, you maybe not so much," she chuckled.

"But for real, do you really think it's the way to go - just hope nobody photographs us, writes about us, and if, rather, when knowing them, they cross the line, try to get someone to keep watch again? There's bound to be coverage once the wedding approaches," he said, taking a sip of his coffee.

"What exactly are you suggesting then?" Rory asked.

"Well, I know you love this place, and it is your home, but maybe we should consider that perhaps some other place that is less accessible, more private, is better long term?" he suggested carefully.

Living behind a high fence and acres of land surrounding the house like Honor or even Finn's parents did was not what she had envisioned. She also already had an idea what Lorelai would say to that.

"I don't know.." she replied sceptically.

"It doesn't have to be something huge," he suggested, "I remember how resistant you were with the idea of four bedrooms here, but certainly it could be located somewhere even more private, have some land and more vegetation around it. And I know there aren't a lot of places that are on the smaller side with those qualities, but building exactly what you like is an option too," he explained, smirking at the thought that two of their spare bedrooms were basically libraries at this point. He'd definitely scaled back himself, realizing that he really didn't need much other than a bedroom and some place to set up his laptop. But there was a faint hope in the back of his mind that perhaps one day there might be some other use for some of those rooms.

"Do you miss the more lavish lifestyle?" she asked. She'd pretty much pushed her simpler way of living on him, it was that or staying in New York. It had been her place first, and while she'd factored in his opinion, it was probably not what Logan was used to. His apartment in Manhattan alone, that he barely used these days, was bigger than this place.

"I'm not screaming for it, I am perfectly capable of living like this and I have everything I need, but every once in a while I do think that having a pool might be nice, especially when Leah gets older," he said, picking his wording carefully and not mentioning the hypothetical 'kids'. "And I guess, having a proper place for all the books couldn't hurt," he added, thinking that a study of his own actually might be nice every once in a while.

"You should've told me," Rory sighed, feeling guilty delaying sorting out the books from the way.

"I told you now," he said with a smirk.

"So you really want to do this?" she asked. She was actually entertaining the idea for his sake. She had indeed appreciated the secludedness of Honor's estate when she had needed it. She couldn't live her whole life with bodyguards. Logan was the one who had had to change his life around this past year, she felt it was time she offered something in return.

"I kind of do, I want a place that is ours. And I actually really like the idea of having something tailor made for us, we're not exactly normal after all," he added, laughingly.

Paris was almost at the end of a meeting listening to her personnel manager give an overview of the last round of interviews with potential new surrogates. What she was hearing was relatively predictable. Some good candidates, some flaky ones. She'd heard it all before, just with different names. She didn't feel like sitting still anymore, checking her phone nervously. She knew she'd promised to call Finn, but because she still didn't have a clear reply or even an idea what she should say, she'd postponed it. She almost hoped Finn would just call her himself, put her out of her misery at the very least. If he couldn't handle slow, was there really much point to pretend he could?

"Alright, let the three that you think are the most suited know they are on our list, the rest, say we'll keep them on a waiting list," she summed up, wanting to get out of the meeting.

"I need to vent about Finn, are you up for it?" she texted Rory.

"I just arrived at Finn's to pick up Leah, I can come and meet you right after. 20 minutes?"

With a toddler in tow, it wasn't ideal, but it'd have to do, she thought.

"My place. I'm leaving work now," Paris added.

"Hi Leah!" Rory greeted.

"Mommy, it's mommy," Leah cheered trying to show Finn Rory had arrived.

"Hey Finn," she greeted.

Finn nodded, adding, "How are you?"

"I'm alright, getting there. Couple of exams done, one more to go next week," she commented.

"Care to explain to me what's going on with you and Paris?" she asked point-blank.

"Agh," he began, running his palm across his face. Having her girlfriend and ex-fiance slash mother of his child talk about him behind his back was not what he'd hoped for, but frankly he'd expected this question sooner or later. "It's weird talking to you about it," he replied.

"I know, but I'd prefer to have two sides of the story before I go try to be Switzerland at her place in 15 minutes," she explained.

"Okay," he agreed with a sigh. Having a chance to explain himself to Rory was almost as close he'd been to Paris in almost two weeks.

"I guess I pushed her, I wanted for her to come to Morocco with me, or at the very least get us a little closer than just dating and fun," he said, not wanting to go into too much detail. "Maybe get to know her kids a little better. I guess, just get an idea where she sees this going," Finn added.

"Oh Finn, you are quite the get serious fast kind of guy aren't you? I almost thought it was just me," she laughed, feeling a little guilty right after saying it as the reason why Finn was dealing with these things in the first place was that she'd left him. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to," she added apologetically.

"It's fine, Rory," he dismissed it, having truly moved on from Rory. But he did feel like he was in a hurry of sorts. He wanted more than being just a single father, a boyfriend. He wanted a family - family dinners, outings and holidays together, the good and the bad.

"I don't know if you know this yet, but you should know that Paris is the queen of awkward and over-thinking things when it comes to this type of things. If I need a pro and con list, she needs an entire whiteboard, or three," she explained. "She has also been in the position of a kid in a very broken family, so you can't really blame her for being careful," Rory added.

While Finn knew bits and pieces of Paris' childhood, what he'd heard had been mostly the positive parts, focusing on her studies or the cool things she'd done with her nanny, she'd never really stopped to explain the relationship dynamics with her parents.

"I honestly feel a little bad for pushing her, but I hope she just sees that it isn't a all or nothing question, but I just need something more," Finn added.

"Just a sec, Leah," Rory said to Leah, who was already pulling her hand anxiously.

"I am not going to be the messenger, Finn. If you want her to know that you're going to have to talk to her yourself, but thanks for filling me in. And I will try to be a neutral ear in the wall here, I don't want to influence whatever you guys decide to do," Rory replied, moving towards her car.

"So vent away," Rory advised, sitting down in one of Paris' wingback armchairs, having shown Leah the adjacent playroom that she could just see from where she was sitting.

"I told him I'd call, but it's been like almost two weeks. I just don't know what to say," she began. "He wants me to, I don't know, show, tell him where we're headed, I guess. But how the hell am I supposed to know," she rambled.

"Anything else before I respond?" Rory asked.

"He wanted me to go to Marrakech with him, but I said no. It was too long of a time to just run off with a fresh boyfriend, just didn't feel right to do that to the kids. I don't want them to get hurt if he starts hanging around and then just doesn't anymore. Doyle already did that. Isn't it my place as a mother to protect them from something like this from happening again," Paris said. "He is cute and funny, treats me well, takes me to places. He took me to see Aldous Harding for God's sake. But we've been seeing each other what two-three months, minus the two weeks of radio silence now," she said, asking ,"What's wrong with being careful and slow?"

"A) I see that you are scared and trying to protect your kids; B) I don't think Finn is the sort of guy who aims to let you down if you do let him close. He wants stability; C) How do you feel about him?" Rory summed it up for Paris. Structure and order was what Paris needed here, something she could control.

"If I didn't have feelings, this should be easier than this, shouldn't it?" she stated. If she didn't have feelings for him, she could've just let him go, couldn't she?
