Meanwhile, Mattew and Liam protect their eyes from the sudden light. Mattew feels something grabbing his arm. Checking, he sees a beaver ready to bite him. Acting quickly, he shushes him making the feral animal run.
"Gosh, it sure got scary for a moment their?" Mattew say turning to Liam who is completely covered in wild and dangerous animals.
With an annoyed expression, he grabs the spider from his shoulder, snake around his neck and smashes them on the ground cursing. Mattew watches shocked as his friend struggles with insects the size of small mammals, evil looking birds and many other critters that try to attack him as he smacks and stomps on them. "Damn these blasted things! Damn! Damn! Damn!" he says through his teeth as Matter chuckles nervous with a large sweat drop on his head.
Next scene: Meanwhile. Another group of students is surprised and greatly relieved by the bright lights. One girl looks around and screams in shock. A few of her classmates lies butchered on the ground. Their dead bodies so badly mutilated that no can recognise their faces.
Next scene: Meanwhile, Ivan drops on the ground exhausted. Near him is just a small hand gun out of bullets. "Oh boy, that was a close one" he adds patting. A loud pair of footsteps approaches him. He looks up to see Ludwig armed to the teeth. Ever since he left to roam alone, he's been killing Shadow kids, mostly non-European in origin, and collecting their weapons. It's a surprise his back could take such weight in metal.
Ivan smiles relieved but Ludwig does not reply in kind. He stares at the boy on the ground cold, mad and a little bit crazy. "Finally a friendly face" Ivan tries to sound cheerful but feels something is off. "Where is Yasna?" he asks making the other student clutch his weapon in anger.
Ivan cautiously stands up an extends his hand. "Say, would you be so kind to borrow me a weapon? You wouldn't believe the problems I had with a few Caucasus shadow students. It's like their bullet-proof... But I succeeded nonetheless" Ivan says being friendly towards the armed student.
With a stone cold expression, Ludwig reaches for his back still staring at Ivan. He grabs on slightly shakes his head and grabs another. The other student looks at him confused. Finally grabbing a heavy and huge bazooka, Ludwig switches it with his own flamethrower, aims it at Ivan and starts counting: "10, 9, 8..."
Terrified, Ivan starts running in the opposite direction. After reaching 1, Ludwig fires the bazooka. The first one misses. As Ivan hurries around the corner zig-zaging, the hallways begin to move.
Next scene: A few moments later. So far, Yasna is able to keep up with the whereabouts of the basketball court room. She runs after it avoiding the dark passages. Out of breath from running, she fixates her eyes on the door, barely managing to register a large figure heading her way. Only after a closer look those she see Ivan staggering towards her with a bloody arm.
"What happened to you?" she gasps. The boy in pain leans on the wall groaning. "That maniac is chasing me...again? Seriously, what's that kids problem with me?!" he says checking his dislocated shoulder. The hallway they are in moves in the opposite direction of the door. Walls don't necessarily follow the floor. There is no specific pattern how they move, at least not visible for now.
The two flinch hearing heavy boots running towards them. "Hide!" Yasna whispers and pushes Ivan into the first janitor's closet she sees. "What about you?" he asks seeing her run towards the footsteps. She turns and adds slightly panicking: "I'm gonna try and talk some sense into him."
Before he can stop her, the room he is in moves in the opposite direction.
Next scene: Ludwig is on the crossroads, not sure where to go. "Is that you?" he hears a familiar female voice. "Yes, I'm here" he says watching.
Yasna steps out with a remorseful expression. She slowly walks over. "Hey" she says trying to sound friendly.
"Hello" he replies coldly.
Yasna bows her head and starts: "Sorry I accused you back there. I wasn't thinking straight. All of this is...getting to me."
Ludwig looks at her silent. "It's alright. It is well known that females get overly emotional in life-threatening situations."
Raising her eyebrows, she looks at him confused: "Is that how you usually speak?"
"Yes, what about it?" Ludwig adds. "Nothing...I merely noticed" she adds defensive. They stand their in awkward silence. At this moment only the walls are moving.
"So I had an encounter with the shadow kids and found out their weakness is fire...You can use your flame-"
"I already know that...Been killing them by the dozen. Some tried to attack our classmates so I...barbecued them" Ludwig brags.
With a nervous smile, Yasna asks: "The shadow kids or the classmates?"
Ludwig glares at her making her shiver from freight.
"Relax, I'm just being silly" she says with a sweat-drop falling from her head.
"How is the mission going?" he adds still holding the bazooka in his hand. "It's fine...Actually, I should be going now or I'll lose the door."
"I should assist you. It's too important of a mission for you to do alone. If you only seen what those dark bastards can do..." Ludwig says reminiscing.
Yasna looks at him closer. "You must be worried about your family, right?"
"Yes...my friends too. That is why we need to..." he stops as Yasna raises her hand. With a peaceful smile she declares: "Look, I really appreciate your help, especially after everything...But my job is not that difficult...I just have to open the passages and the teachers will come hurling in and taking all the glory. But who is going to protect our classmates until they come? They need a hero. They need you."
Astounded, Ludwig listens intrigued. "Me?" he adds stuttering.
"Yes you" she continues. "Look at how resourceful you are. What you managed to do in such little time. And the weapons you made are brilliant" she says showing him the make-shift hook he left her.
Flattered, he puts his chest out. "I always did believe I was born to play that role. To wreak havoc on my enemies like a penance from God."
"Exactly, and now, you can not only go nuts, you will be seen by your peers as their saviour" she continues encouraging him.
Ludwig ponders loving the idea more and more. "I was wrong to shoot up the school. This was my mission all along. I was simply too impatient back then. I just wanted to be the hero so badly" he adds with a smiles. With wide terrified eyes, Yasna manages to fake a smile and nods.
He sighs happy and tells her: "Thank you for the talk."
"No problem" Yasna adds trying to sound carefree.
Turning towards a piece of floor that is moving, Ludwig jumps on it and takes his flame-thrower again. "See you after this is over" he says disappearing in one of the dark passages.
Yasna waves until she is sure he left for good. "I can't believe that worked" she whispers to herself amazed.
