If it hadn't been for the children, dinner would have been awful. The tension between Sesshoumaru and his father was more than palpable, and the silence between herself and Sesshoumaru was no less obvious. He hardly spoke two words to her throughout the meal, no matter how much conversation she tried to start up.
Thankfully, Fuiasu and her own mother managed to fill the silence and though their actions and their reasons for it were clear, Kagome still felt hard pressed to keep calm. She wasn't entirely sure what kind of feelings were whirling about inside of her, but she was growing more and more frustrated with each passing second. In fact, the only reason she didn't unleash herself was because of everyone at the table.
This was meant to be a holiday, not a battle and no matter how many times she wanted to snap at him, or ask why he was being so frigid, Kagome held herself silent, smiled, and kept on.
