In Germany's office. "Your report is excellent" Germany says reading a paper presented to him by Serbia's new assistant. The young man does not seem that happy with his praise.
Germany looks at him concerned. "I suppose you got used to your new position by now?" the EU nation asks hoping for a positive reply. The young man shakes, as if having a seizure. Germany jumps up only to find that the young man kneeling.
"Please Sir!" he yells thought tears. "I'm begging you to assign me a new position. These past few months have been a nightmare! She constantly complains and loves nothing more than shaking all of my beliefs to the core. I beg you. I'll do anything else."
Germany sympathises. Helping the assistant up, he pats him on the back: "I understand your pain. I...I apologise for making you go through it. I saw potential in you and I..."
The young man starts sobbing. "It's alright. It's alright. I'm not judging...I...I'll sort it out. Don't worry" the nation says as the man tries to calm himself.
Next scene: A few days later, Serbia waits for the young man in a busy hallway. "Wow I don't know what you said to him but it sure worked. You surely have a way with words when you made Germany change his mind so quickly" she says content.
"Yes...It was my speech that did the trick" the young man lies lies.
Very soon, a young woman approaches them. Serbia hugs her overjoyed. It's the assistant she was hoping for. "Well, I'll leave you two to sort everything out. I have some work to do myself" she says and leaves the two administrative workers.
"You seem to know Mr. Republic of Serbia well" the young man asks. "Why yes. I think she even babysat me a few times" the woman next to him says.
"In that case your job as her assistant will be relatively easier. Being a nation's assistant may seem like a rough job but is an excellent stepping stone for a nice cushy position in the Parliament..."
"I can imagine. So what position would you like to have?" she adds.
"Oh nothing spectacular...Although being a minister would be nice" he says getting dreamy eyes.
Serbia's new assistant looks around. "I really don't know if my grandmother would approve of this place. She always believed that a diplomat has to have twice the strength of a soldier because they fight for their community with everything except guns. But the people here don't seem that driven."
"Your grandmother must be a wise woman. And judging by her previous boss, a very patient and resourceful one" the man says impressed.
"Definitely. But don't we all need to be? Doing the important job we do? After all, many lives depend on us" she adds.
"I suppose you are right" he says and gestures in the direction of the offices. "Let me show you around. Now as you can see..." he speaks as they walk through hallways blending in with many finely-dressed people looking just like them.
