Chapter 59: Rock On
Missy held out her device, firing a laser. Before Missy were two strange kids. One was a boy with a cap and a bat, and the other was a child with a snake. They seemed to have psychic powers as they just held her blast mid-air.
"Okay, mildly impressed," Missy admitted with some hesitation.
Child Emperor reacted, releasing something from his bag, a large robot that seemed to be composed of lego blocks. It quickly wrapped around them, distracting them from the blast which scorched the space behind them. It didn't take them long to break apart the blocks.
It didn't take Missy a long time to realize they had come for her, but she couldn't do much about it, and when the computer went wild, and the building shook, she couldn't even take a break to check on the readings. Things did change.
The child with the bat managed to block another bat.
"What the hell is going on?!" Metal Bat arrived swinging.
The hero was doing as he was told to and was looking around. Then everything went wild, and he was drawn by the sound of fighting.
The two duplicate children turn their attention to the heroes. Missy sighed with relief, sitting by the computer to look at the result.
"…Oh, it followed us, and …" She tapped her TDS, "Ah, Alexis, we've got trouble."
"I NOTICED!" Alexis was running, holding onto Kirby as a dozen creatures chased after them.
Before he could say anything else, a cloud of darkness wrapped around him, and someone put their hand over his mouth.
The cloud vanished, and the invaders continued to chase a blue-coated man with a pink ball.
Leo watched on, the all-seeing eyes of god glowed blue; he didn't see Alexis; he saw a girl named Grey holding onto a cat running for her life. She looked terrified, but every attack launched at her missed as the cat in her arms moved around, shifting her just enough to avoid them.
Grey had magic to disguise herself, and the cat had magic to keep her safe; her captain volunteered her.
Vanessa sighed, "I think I can keep her safe for a few minutes."
Yami held Alexis telling him, "We've got questions; what is that thing?"
Alexis looked around a variety of knights, heroes, and Libra members had gathered.
"I don't know, apparently it's called Galeem."
"It chased us," Missy shouted from the wrist device, "It used at as tethers, it pulled three universes together, well one point each brought closer to it, and it's taken its first steps into the wider world. It destabilizing the three worlds will cause a tremendous amount of damage if we let it."
Genos gave them a cold glare, "How do we stop it, then?"
"Wrong question," Missy scolded, "it's bending worlds towards it, it's open portals, it burns through energy tracking us, protecting us, and making this whole thing possible. Why?"
"You don't know?" Leo asked, "I had a vision; it said that time lady and a keeper of secrets would have something to do with the end of everything. I thought you'd have a solution for it, not cause it."
"I would like to point out none of this was on purpose, and it's mostly the wing thing doing it," Alexis pointed out.
"Ah!" Leo let out before catching an eyeful of Galeem; the glowing blue eyes glowed brighter and red.
Leo started to tremble, and tears began to stream from his eyes. There was the smell like something was burning.
"I see it, I see what it did." Leo's voice was breaking. "There was a war. All those people we've been fighting… they were fighting it and an army of those hands. Then it attacked; it drained all the energy from the hands and this attack. It killed them all. They all were dissolved because of it. It didn't stop it; it's white light spread it consumed everything. I mean, everything, the whole world. Then it remade it, remade it in its own image. It even copied the people that fought and made them into puppets to fight for it."
Leo collapsed, holding onto his eyes.
They saw the hand getting into position around it.
Klaus quickly deduced, "It wants to the same to our worlds."
"Three in one shot, that's actually efficient," Alexis said deadpanned. "Oh! It's smart. It wants us so it can figure out how to get more worlds. If it gets our tech, us, or into my universe, Missy's or the Avenger's, it could get the tech too. Good thing we couldn't contact anyone or jump on our own."
Missy sighed, "I have a solution; it's bounded to us, so we let it chase me. Its power is still flowing through the TDS, and as a tether, I can drag it away. I'm already programming the device to go off the list and shift me after a minute or so. I'll just keep jumping until it runs out of power."
"The strain of doing so many multiple jumps would kill you," Alexis told her.
"I'm sturdy, plus the shield it put around us would protect me to some extent and added bonus drain it faster. It will be under strain from the jumps too and getting drained."
"I have to go too." Alexis sighed, "Two tethers will do much better, double the drain on it. It decreased the chance it pulls away and gives you a better chance of survival. Plus, since we don't know where we will land, having an extra hand will be great to force, and earlier jump increases the chance you don't get killed by whatever you run into."
"You know this is likely to be a one-way trip," Missy's tone got dangerously serious, "I can do it by myself."
"No, it will work best if it's initiated from inside the rift, drawing more power from it and strengthening the tethers."
"I can get to it,"
"Not before our distraction gets caught, and they look for us." Alexis turned to the group, "Anyone able to hurl me really far?"
They got ready, the group went along with an outlandish plan because it meant the winged thing would be gone, and if it was beaten, it would leave the army without a leader and power source.
Klaus made a barrier, and some people readied to blast behind it.
Leo stood next to Alexis as he handed over a sad Kirby.
"Sorry, buddy, I gotta do this one without you." He turned to Leo, "Ah, odds are our friends will find you. Give them Kirby and tell them to find him a place. And, if you see a redhead…. tell her I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I left her alone. I'm sure she will get Beatrice back, and they'll be okay together."
"You're okay, doing this?"
"No, I'm done yet. But who else can do this? We can't jump home without bringing danger to it. If we don't, we get taken out with this world. I don't want to be part of destroying three universes; that would look terrible on my tombstone."
Leo asked, speaking into the TDS. "Ah, Missy? Is there anyone you want to leave a message for if we see them? Like just in case."
Missy paused; the lab was still in the middle of a fight; she paused, thinking. "Without hope, without witness, without reward."
"What?"
"No, there's no one. Now, if your ready, I just finished the tweaking, and our devices are synced."
"Okay, let's do this,"
Leo watched; neither one seemed like heroes willing to this because they were righteous or anything; they just walked forward. They almost sounded like they regretted something; maybe they were trying to make up for something. Perhaps they only regretted what was about to come.
Alexis leaned back on the blood barrier.
"Hurl me!" He hung on and braced himself.
Without another word, they shot him forwards to the rift.
Dog lunched forward with all his strength. Genos caused a controlled explosion, and Yuno created a gust of wind forcing the flames to act like a controlled blast and rocket the barrier forward.
Alexis held on tight, he didn't scream, but he did hum magic carpet ride.
The invaders turned their attention to him and tried to attack him; the other shot their own attacks to cover him. As he collided with the rift, he activated the TDS and vanished in white light.

Missy and Alexis collided with the ground; well, Alexis landed onto a black impala parked in front of a large nondescript building.
"That worked," Missy noted; the shield was holding up as she felt the impact but much less than it should have felt.
Alexis rolled off the car; he noted the dent, "Uh, should I leave a note or-?"
Above their head, in a flash of light, Galeem materialized; it looked confused and then turned to them.
"Never mind that, run," Missy pulled along as they started to run, and after a moment, they vanished in a flash of light.

They arrived in the middle of a small ghost town of a city, but instantly they knew something was wrong. There were no sounds of life, no animals, no people, or anything. It was eerily silent.
The air felt wrong, the world felt wrong. They couldn't tell if something was there or if something important was missing.
They kept running as the air was filled with light, and Galeem materialized again. It paused as it looked at the horizon at something they didn't see.

An elderly old woman stood outside; her family was wiped out, including her granddaughter. It didn't make sense why an old woman like her stayed while someone with so much future became dust.
"Ah-Mah?" An eight-year-old called out to her, a pug by his side.
"Ray-Ray? Oh, sorry, I needed to take some time and get some air. Even the magical worlds were hit by this and-"
There was a flash of light, and the pair saw Missy and Alexis run by them in a panic. Behind them materialized the winged foe who continued to follow them.
Ah-Mah was about to act when they all vanished in a flash of light.
The dog stared confused and spoke with a Scottish accent, "What was that about?"

They were mid-run as they saw a large building down the hall and ran towards it. It didn't matter much; they just had to keep going. They just had to keep going; it would make Galeem think they were fleeing and just pulling it along. Hopefully, it wouldn't notice; it would only assume it was getting more universes to invade later. They just had to buy time and make sure they weren't caught. It had already proven that they could replicate technologies, so they just couldn't let it actually get the TDS.
The building they were racing to seemed sturdy and could hold Galeem back long enough to jump again. Maybe give them a chance to catch a breath and rest a little before the next jump.
Winds seemed to pick up around them and swirl around them as they jumped.

DATEN CITY'S CHURCH
A red-haired teenaged boy in a green jumpsuit sat in a pew praying. Even knowing that angels and demons were a proven thing, he never found a point in praying.
Today he did find a reason to pray; he was following the trail left to find the girl he loved or restore her. Then it vanished along with her turncoat sister and the priest.
He felt her presence, a red-skinned demon girl with glasses; she lost her sister too. They had been enemies and sort of allies when this all happened. As everyone they knew was gone, they had leaned on each other to try and get through this.
Near them was a small green dog-like creature.
The glass shattered behind them as two figures were hurled through the windows.
The demons turned her knew socks into scythes and prepared for a coming battle. The teenager went to check on the condition of the two, the dog growling outside.
They quickly vanished in a flash of light. Looking outside, they saw wings and light before it too disappeared.

They both groaned; they found themselves amidst a terrible train wreck. They didn't see how it started, but it looked like several trains had collided, and the station itself was almost gone on fire. People around them were feeling as some rescue workers were doing what they could.
"What is that?" Missy asked.
Amidst all the chaos, something stood out.
A man untouched by the flames or by the wreck stood there calmly. A man that didn't seem to fit in the world. He watched the disaster with glee, but not a single person around him even noticed him.
And they should have; his face was upside down. With the most unsettling grin on his upside-down face, he turned to the pair and walked towards them.
Galeem materialized above them, the people around them panicked and ran. The upside-down face man turned to the giant in the air, and it bought them a chance to run away before the next jump.

They both gasped as water filled their mouths. They had jumped into the middle of the water and deep.
The pressure of the water quickly pulled them down as they struggled to swim.
Then there was a bright light as Galeem manifested after them, and with its light, they saw something beneath them deeper into the water. A large mountain-like city, with a strange building on top.
Galeem spread its wings tearing apart the water swirling them around.
Alexis swore he saw two halves of a large pair of scissors sticking out of a rock. Then he saw it as the rock crashed into him.
Missy activated an immediate jump, and they vanished.
EARTH WV-03

GOVERNMENT WAREHOUSE
They teleported into an old warehouse, crashing into wooden crates and equipment. They both coughed up water. Catching his breath, Alexis was mildly disgusted that he crashed into containers that held aliens' biological samples. There was a sizeable insectoid head and what seemed to be organs once kept in jars. He found samples of a shorter species of aliens with large heads. He was particularly disgusted in that he crashed through their jars. He was now covered in their fluids and viscera. Though he quickly pushed the thought away. As he started to get up, he noticed chunks of rocks and a pair of scissors blades. He had dragged them in by accident. Picking them him, they seemed to turn into a dark blue.
"Huh." He slid them into his coat to figure out later.
Missy was still catching her breath; she noticed a large tube, but she ignored it as she saw something far more bizarre. They had been in crates marked SEMEE; it looked like a large android with a cape and head like a block of swiss cheese.
Missy couldn't exactly make out the nature of the technology. It was very odd; it looked like it was old and powerful but almost alive.
In a flash of light, the roof vanished, and Galeem hovered above them. It looked like it was getting tired of this chase.

They quickly jumped to another world, and things actually got worse. They had arrived in a world that seemed covered with vegetation, as plants covered the world they knew. They showed up in Broadway and vines, and plant buds had covered everything, and once they stepped onto them, the vines wrapped around them. They quickly started to raise them through a hole in the ceiling towards the roof.
"Well, well, well, I thought I'd capture every tasty goodie here," one of the plant buds opened up, revealing a maw filled with sharp teeth.
In the distance, Galeem manifested only to have vines wrap around it and drag it down as it struggled. From a distance, they could see a dozen other giant buds around the city but no people.
From a distance, they could even see massive ones on top of the statue of liberty.
"Supper time!"
The plant then let them go dropping them into its mouth.
They hit a quick jump.

The world was a mess, or maybe it was because they fell onto the tables.
Missy blinked as someone stood above them, someone round and pink.
"Kirby?" Missy asked.
"Buu angry!"
Both travelers were suddenly picked up by a large pink creature.
"You ruined Buu's lunch!"
They had crashed into a table with food. The creature before them huffed and puffed until steam blows out of the sides of his head.
Above them, Galeem showed up, and it looked angry. A blast of energy came out of the ball in the center and struck Buu.
The pair were tossed to the side with pink goo over them. Buu turned their attention to them; it was getting tired of the chase and what they found along the way. He was ready to wipe each and every world away, but it needed them.
But they the goo pulled from them and collected itself, reshaping themselves back into Buu.
"BUU ANGRY!"
A tail sat on top of Buu's head, and it fired at Galeem. Galeem blocked the blast. But some of the feathers on the wing turned into chocolate bars that tumbled to the ground.
"Buu is going to get you!" Buu flew into the air, ready to confront it.
Alexis and Missy continued to run away from the fight, both barely noticing their clothes still had faint pink staining to them now. They tried not to think of what that might have been.
Thought Alexis did think it would be fun to see this Buu meet Kirby.
EARTH M-2149

TIME SQUARE
Thor struck Galeem the moment he was spotted.
This was a bad thing.
Missy fired her laser at the heroes around them, and Alexis fire a blast of ice to freeze them.
They had arrived at a wasteland lacking life.
"I hate zombies!" Alexis yelled as he kept fighting.
Missy quickly used her weapon to vaporize a zombie that looked like an undead Natasha.
They had arrived, and it was empty; they thought it was a chance to catch their breath, but then the undead crawled out of the shadows in droves. They could only react and kept them back. They just needed a second to hit off another jump, but it didn't look like they were going to give them that. These zombies were outfit like the Avengers and had powers like them, there was outfit they didn't recognize, and all had powers.
In the distance, Galeem blasted lights around, destroying some of the zombies that were trying to attack it. Alexis managed to pull back away from enough to build an ice wall. A zombie Captain America cracked it with one hit of his shield. It was enough time for Missy to hit the next jump.
MACRAGGE WHK-4000
ILLYRIA
They seemed to have gotten off-planet this time. Missy had tried to program the random feature to keep on Earth if just to make sure there would be air. But the last quick jump had a bit of a bug to it. At least they landed on a planet with breathable air.
They both collapsed onto the ground, which was lucky because they ended up in the middle of the battlefield. They didn't get a good look at everyone, but there were humans, they had a marine feel to them, some sort of space elves and orcs, and some creatures they couldn't identify.
They stayed near to the ground to not get any attention from them. Luckily, Galeem showed up, and most of the armies turned their attention to it; it even looked like some of them had weapons for things like it.
Galeem looked like it had been getting tired, but it looked like it had actually been hurt for the first time.
It would mean their shield would likely get weaker, but they might escape if they timed it right.

Several monsters arrived outside of the school, waiting to see if this would work—the Coven, or what remained. Joy and Hope gathered ingredients for a ritual to reach those that got dusted. They had a large ritual circle in the ground.
Even the monsters lost people they cared about, friends, family, lovers, and they would give anything for a chance to talk to them.
The Coven charged up the spell, pulling magic from the ley lines beneath the school, and reached out for anyone who was lost, but suddenly they fell backward like they hit a wall.
In a flash of light, Alexis and Missy showed up.
Alexis just said, "I can use this!"
He reached the ritual and touched and drew out the power within it. When Galeem showed up, Alexis hurled the magic at it.
They vanished soon after, leaving behind some confused monsters.

REMAINS OF LOS ANGELES, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
They had gone through two-dozen worlds again before they found another place they could turn to their advantage.
They arrived in a dark world where robots had risen and fought humanity.
And it looked like humanity was dead; the building were all gone, crumbled to ashes, and the world was a barren war zone.
When they arrived, the robots quickly shot at them, but once Galeem came, they turned their weapons on it. Missy found a downed robot and its power source.
Galeem was swatting away armies of machines. It gave them a chance to work. Missy pulled out its battery and quickly set it to overload. Missy hurled it as close as she could to Galeem.
Galeem saw them, and Missy just smiled and waved goodbye.
Then in a flash of light, they jumped.
The battery was akin to a small nuclear reactor. It exploded, setting off the batteries in machines caught in the blast. Soon Galeem was caught in the blow too.
N/A JUN-G-E2
They had gone through another few dozen worlds, never staying longer than a minute in any world before moving on. With each jump, Galeem grew weaker, taking the brunt of the damage; it was shielding them. Some worlds were empty, some were lush, some people attacked them, and some ran away. Sometimes in their brief moment, they could find something they could use to attack Galeem, further weakening it.
They went to a variety of strange worlds. There was one with a talking dog in a van. One with kids in a neat treehouse, they attacked them with weapons made from two by fours. They landed in Chicago with a guy in a leather duster with a pet loud mouth skull. A world froze over with snow and ice.
They ran into a world with many magic users, adventurers, and even a few metal men forged for war. They did manage to do a fair amount of damage to Galeem there.
Then their luck seemed to run out. The pair showed up, and there was no Earth; they saw the sun in the distance but no Earth, just large rocks all around them. The shield that Galeem forged around them as the tether did nothing to contain air, and they both suddenly felt their lungs empty and pressures build.
There was something there right above the moon, something large and a presence that even Galeem quivered at.
It was larger than a world and mouth just finished up the Earth; a long tendril-like appendage on its mouth shoved what remained of the world into its mouth. They really couldn't make out much in detail.
Alexis had seen something like this before… he hoped he would never see anything close to it again. Alexis knew this thing wasn't the thing he saw back then, but he was too scared to care. He activated the TDS as soon as he could.
EARTH AOT-13
UNAFFILIATED LAND
Three deformed giants attacked Galeem; they seemed to attack little more than animals ad attacked it at random. Missy and Alexis were lying on the ground, barely breathing. The stress of so many jumps was getting to them, made worse by the sudden lack of oxygen. Missy was trying to move; she was sturdier, and having a bi-vascular system had helped, but she could barely move at this point. The shields were weakening; the more jumps they did, the more damage slipped through. For the most part, they were still protected, but little by little, scratched and bruised formed, and they started to feel like bones would buckle and break.
That's when they jumped again.
The ground trembled as Galeem fell to the ground.

UNDETERMINED LOCATION
Leo held Kirby close around the battle seem to be coming to an end. The invaders started to grow weaker, and some just seem to collapse. A few ran back through the rift.
Nearby a cat-like creature fell to the ground, and a small green-haired woman smiled over it.
It had been nearly an hour, and no one knew where those two had gone or if they would come back.
Leo could tell Kirby was upset. Kirby tapped on the screen on TDS Alexis gave him, "I knew it would get me killed."
Kirby had turned on the communicator.
Missy's voice was weak and lacking any energy, "I can't believe I'm dying twice like this. No one would have believed it once, but twice! Ha!"
Missy set her device to send them back where it started up, but her eyes flickered close.
Kirby, in a panic, slammed on the screen, "Po po po!"
On the screen flashed the word: Sync.
Kirby vanished in the light leaving behind a bewildered Leo.
0000
Missy and Alexis were amidst a battlefield with no one around but several swords and shields discarded by armies that left them behind.
Kirby arrived, "Yo po yo!"
They were barely breathing. Nearby, Galeem inched closer; it would outlast them now; it would consume them, take their technology, and go back to every world they visited and bring all of them under its order.
Kirby stared it down, it hadn't been their battle, but they took up the fight for their own reasons. Kirby decided it was time to finish it.
Galeem had a rough day; these two strangers had dragged it across the multiverse, set dangers against it, and even attacked it themselves. It was wounded, but it lived; it wanted to finish them as soon as it got what it wanted. Then Kirby arrived, and he would not tolerate them anymore.
Its wings fluttered as the light in the center of its wings pulsed, and a blast of blinding light scorched the landscape.
Kirby didn't run, not this time; he stood his ground and opened his mouth. Kirby inhaled as hard he could as the blast closed in it condensed and was pulled into his mouth. Kirby shook as his cheeks expanded; Kirby shot it right back at it with a bit of effort. Galeem couldn't even move, and the blast tore apart one of its wings.
Kirby started to run forward and picked up a nearby sword, and inhaled it. Kirby transformed, a new sword formed in his hand a green cap appeared on his head. Summoning up the warp star, Kirby rushed forwards.
Galeem charged what strength it still and fired a beam of energy towards the star warrior. As the beam came, Kirby slashed it and deflected it high into the air. Every moment Galeem felt itself get weaker and lashed at the coming Kirby with its wings. Kirby soared through the air, just dodging the razor-sharp wings.
Kirby moved past the wings and plunged the sword into the light in the center.
The rest of Galeem's body shook and exploded.
Galeem was destroyed. Kirby rushed back to his friends and unsure of how to help them. He saw Missy's device blink the word 'Ready.'
They vanished in a flash of light.
0000
Missy and Alexis woke up with one of the magic knights over them, Mimosa Vermillion, a plant magic mage. Wings made of plant matter formed behind her and glowed; the light-bathed both travelers in healing magic. The pain and stress ebbed away, and any injuries they had gathered slowly mended themselves.
They were both exhausted but alive and conscious. When they collapsed, they were close to death; a few more jumps like that, they'd die. Missy wasn't even sure if the strain would have allowed her to regenerate.
They didn't see the fight; they just thought they left Galeem to die on a battlefield. Kirby chased after them and hit Missy's device because it was blinking.
Missy patted Kirby's head, "Good work,"
Kirby just happily sat beside them.
Genos asked the obvious question, "Can you repair the damage that has been done?"
Missy shrugged, "No need," she looked at her device, and it confirmed the Galeem was gone, "the energy used to make that rift and pull everything together is disappearing. I'd say it would take ten minutes to a half-hour; everything will slide back to their proper places. Just don't jump into the rift, and you should be fine."
Alexis stretched out, his muscles ached, "Which means we should leave. If we here when that happens, there is a good chance we will get stuck in between worlds. And I've been there, I don't want to go back."
He picked Kirby to be up, who seemed more than happy to go along.
Missy got up, dusted off her skirt, then stopped when she realized it wouldn't matter; she had dust herself off.
Taking out his remote, Alexis activated it to make a portal, "Oh, it works again."
Kirby waved at the odd group of people around them, sensing their departure coming. It did cause Alexis to pause to turn around and say, "Goodbye, sorry about the trouble."
Missy sighed, realizing she didn't know what he was supposed to say. She now knew why the Doctor always ran; you left a place damaged, you get the feeling people expect you to do something about the damaged buildings even if you didn't cause it.
She tried to play it off, "We really are exceptionally sorry about it." She paused, "You know, we could still use your help."
"Huh?" Alexis asked.
Missy leaned over and whispered, "We said we'd get help, and all we have is an adorable puffball, and our actions almost resulted in massive destructions."
"And we don't have to tell Steve that we had to stop to help everyone when we told him that was a bad idea."
Missy nodded and tapped her nose.
"Poyo?"
"Morality relative, Kirby," Alexis explained. "We are just doing the best we can at the moment; it's probably not that great. We just hope it will be enough to bring everyone back."
At least they were honest with themselves, if not honest with everyone.
"So," Missy spun around to the groups, "we are currently looking for those with skills and muscle. We are looking for the one behind this whole dusting mess, and we do need bodies to throw in with us. It might be all for nothing, but it's better than sitting here and hoping for the best. We won't push it. We will leave the door open behind us for five minutes. Five minutes?"
"Maybe, a few minutes, maybe I haven't charged it."
Missy just snapped her fingers, "Time is of the essence. Limited time offer: adventure beyond your imagination and a chance to make a difference. Chao!" Missy turned on her heel and walked towards the portal.
She whispered to Alexis, "I have no idea how the Doctor gets so many people to follow them just out of the blue. It makes no sense if you stop and think about it."
Alexis shrugged, and they walked into the portal.
The various groups were gathered around the portal, wondering if they should follow. It was crazy, but it was a crazy day.
"Let's do it," Yami said. He turned to the Black Bulls; he was going to give them an out for this one.
"Sure," Vanessa shook her head.
"This crazy but… okay," Finral replied.
"Let's go it." Magna cheered, firing himself up.
"I suppose it is our best option," Noelle added, flicking her pigtails as she did.
"I wonder if there will be any yummy food." Charmy jumped up, eager to see what was next.
"It's not the dumbest thing I've ever heard; it's up there." Zora, their trap master, added.
"I- I suppose if everyone is going…" Grey still was shaken after being used by bait but agreed.
None of the black Bulls faltered, he wouldn't blame them for this one, but they all, without hesitation, followed his led.
Some of the other squad captains looked at the group.
Nozel began, "We voted that we weren't following them." He sighed, "But there is no stopping you, and it does at least deserve some investigation of their claims or if they pose a danger to the kingdom."
Yuno sighed, "If anyone asks, I suppose we could just say you were on a special mission. We will just have to pick up your slack."
Mereoleona snorted, "But if you find your in over your heads, you come to get us. We will pull your asses out of the fire."
"You're probably going to need help anyway," Jack grinned his usual grinned manifesting scythes on his arms.
Nozel looked at his little sister Noelle and told her, "Be careful."
"I will," She tried to hide her smile.
Vanessa took the chance to speak to Dorothy, her fellow witch, "Mind sending a message for me?"
While this happened, Libra looked at the portal.
Leo was the one to start talking. "I know this whole thing sounds crazy. I think we have to go. I had a vision about them, and it felt like it was directly from the gods. I don't know if we can help or anything. Maybe the gods just want me to witness it, but if there is a chance-"
"We're going," Klaus patted him on the back, almost causing him to topple over.
"I'll take Leo to another world. I believe I will be able to represent us and negotiate with them if it comes down to it."
Chain sighed, "You just want to see another universe, don't you?"
"It's an exciting opportunity, I will admit."
Chain shook her head, "I'll come along too; if things get hairy or this is a trap, I got the best chance to break out."
"I'll go too," Zed nodded, "my abilities can fill needs."
"I'll come along," KK added, her voice softer but resolute; she wasn't sure why she wanted to go. Maybe it was because it was a chance to get her family back or because she didn't want to lose more of her family.
Steven nodded, "I understand; keep your head on a swivel. I can't even start to imagine what you might see. Contact us if you can; we will work on it on our end. Otherwise, I'll do my best to keep things from going any crazier."
Dog and Hummer just sighed.
Hummer asked, "You don't want to go?"
"No, not if I can help it. Jumping universes is one step too far for my right now."
"Can't blame you."
The heroes looked on, unsure of what action to take. Child Emperor and Metal had reached the outside after they finished their fight. Child Emperor was scanning the portal and the rift, trying to get as much information as he could. Drive Knight was doing the same, and if they contacted Metal Knight, they might be able to make some headway.
Tornado looked at the portal distastefully at it. She held little to no trust in them for obvious reasons.
"You can't actually be considering it."
Genos looked at the portal, wondering what his master would think about this. He was sure he'd head in without fear or hesitation if it meant the chance to save everyone.
"I will go," Genos announced. "If there is a chance we can save them, we must go."
Silver Fang hummed, "It is bizarre, but we can't discount what we've seen today. They might hold the key to this mystery."
Metal Bat tapped his bat to the ground, "I'm going; I don't know why, but I got the weirdest feeling about those two."
Child Emperor mused out loud, "I might be able to replicate the technology, but this is a field of study that has been theoretical up until today. See if you can contact us. If things go wrong, it might be a while to attempt a rescue."
Tornado smiled; it might she'd have an excuse to stomp on the blue coat guy. "I suppose we can spare the three of you. It wouldn't be hard for me to pick up your slack."
Atomic Samurai shook Silver Fang's hand, "Good luck, old man. I can't say I'm not a little jealous. It sounds like quite a trip, but I have my students and my other responsibilities to worry about. I'll make sure the world is still here when you get back."
"Good, I expect to share a cup of tea when I get back then."
Genos sent a message to the doctor Kuseno, the closes thing he had to a father figure. He had messaged him several times after the dusting, but he never got a reply. He hoped that the man was busy, even though he knew what was most likely. He still sent him a message of what was happening. In the end, the three of them readied to leave. They didn't have much in the way of family or friends left in this world. Metal Bat just made sure that the Child Emperor got someone to feed his pet cats.
They all said their final goodbyes and headed to the portal.
Author's Notes: Here's part two. Next will be dealing with the others recruiting more people with hopefully less potential destruction of the multiverse. Or maybe not. Who knows?
So, yeah, Missy and Alexis bounced off a lot universes, those are the universes i really don't have plans for but people kept on asking for so i gave them a shout out. I'm not going to say which is which, that just a little treat for you if you recognized them. Which you might not, a lot of these worlds I really don't know much about.
FYI I'm thinking of changing the chapter titles in the menu, should I keep them as it or just change them to their series names? What do you guys think.
Well, let me know if you recognize them or what you thought of this chapter. Or what do you guys think is going to happen. Not many questions so I'll just do it quick
Q&A:
51st: Yeah, that's a spoiler, we are recruiting people right now. Dragon Ball showed up in chapter 36. Goku was dusted but Vegeta is around but since Bulma was dusted they don't have any real means to reach the universe.I've explained it before but basically I don't see how I can fit DB characters into this story. Their whole thing is fighting and straight forward so, just over powering their opponent. Which doesn't work with Thanos and a gauntlet that gives him infinite power. And let's face if Goku would actually wait until Thanos was at full power, don't say he wouldn't. Thanos isn't a straight up fight, you need to find a way to outsmart him too. Remember thats ultimatly how he's beaten in the movie, Tony manages to take the stone from him not beating him. Frieza is the only exception because, well, he wasn't going to win and its fun to see him forced to work for someone. I pretty much added this one scene with Buu for those who wanted some more db.
