p style="margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 15px;""Welcome to Chocolate's for Rin! How can we help you?" she called out almost absently, her mind more on the complex candy she was making than on the customers./p
p style="margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 15px;"His heart still ached at the sight of her. It wasn't fair. And it was the only reason he had come in tonight. Having never taken the chance to try and make her his, he had never either allowed himself the chance to move on. Very lightly, pale blue eyes dark with emotion, Kouga cleared his throat. "Kagome?"/p
p style="margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 15px;"Startled at the familiar voice, she almost fudged what she was working on and barely managed to move her hands in time so the project wasn't harmed. Still, more pleased than upset, she set the utensils and chocolate down and wiped her hands on an already charmingly chocolate covered apron. "Kouga!" Smiling, she untied the apron and set it on the counter, before going around to hug him. "How are you?"/p
p style="margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 15px;"Gingerly, he hugged her back, wrapping his arms lightly around her small shoulders. He tried to be subtle about the way he buried his nose in her hair, but knew he wasn't and could only hope she either didn't notice, or didn't comment. He let go before he wanted to and gently set her away from him. "I'm good. I actually came in here to talk to you, if you have the time."/p
p style="margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 15px;"Attributing the odd action to his canine senses, she shrugged it off and didn't comment, before glancing at her watch. It was a bit early, granted, but she hadn't had a customer in at least a half hour, and they closed in another half hour anyway. "Sure. Just let me lock up real quick." She motioned to an empty booth for him to sit, and set to work./p
p style="margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 15px;"He watched her, still stunned by, what was to him, an almost easy grace she had about the shop. Even pregnant, he still found her radiant, and the way she moved entranced him. From closing and locking the doors, to cleaning up the small-ish kitchen in back, there was that elegance and economy of movement that had always fascinated him. /p
p style="margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 15px;"When she finally came back to him, almost an hour had passed, and he'd barely even realized until she was across from him and mentioned the time, and dinner. "Oh…," rubbing the back of his neck in almost sheepish embarrassment, he shrugged. "I haven't eaten anything yet. I figured on picking something up on the way home."/p
p style="margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 15px;""Me too. We've been so busy today, what with only one more day until Christmas. I swear, from the moment we opened the doors it's been non-stop. I even had Mama in here manning the cash register!" Almost oblivious to his nerves, she leaned back in her seat and stretched a little./p
p style="margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 15px;""Is it alright for you to be on your feet the whole day like that?" he asked, mildly concerned at the thought./p
p style="margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 15px;""Oh, I'm fine. I swear, Mama had me setting down every hour or so. Fair to drove me nuts, what with the crowd we had." Her hand moved to settled protectively over her stomach, and her smile and eyes softened. "But I understand. I should have a few more weeks before I have to cut back on hours, though."/p
p style="margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 15px;"The look on her face turned his heart into a puddle of goo and for one heart stopping moment, Kouga wished the pup in her womb was his. /p
