Hi :
Ok, no reviews to guide me. Well, I'll tackle the brewing dramas as they come.
This one is very different. One scene in one location.
Chapter 62
A fulfilling day
As Maddie walks up the steps to the Pownall home, she turns her head several times. The visit is one that is clandestine. A social call never to be discussed with anyone else.
Wearing her favorite blue-jean jacket, she shimmers from a gust of air cutting a path from the waterfront. Standing at the front door, she pulls on her red V-neck sweater. She hopes to cover any sign of her minuscule stomach encased in the stretch low-riding matching jeans.
As the front door is opened, Elaine extends a hand toward the expected guest.
"Please dear, how are you doing?"
The normal greeting somehow contains a hint of the speaker's knowledge concerning the young woman's situation.
Elaine's ice blue iris glistens from the overhead mid-afternoon sun.
"Hope will be here soon, but let's have a little drink before we start our baring of the soul chat."
Elaine turns and walks to the three level liquor cabinet. The top wooden shelf holds a collection of wine bottles, an array of different size glasses suited for any taste sit underneath as various blended and single malt whiskies fill the bottom. Either choice will find themselves in elegant crystal beakers as they quench a guest's thirst.
"Oh, I'd rather not." Maddie's words are sent to an oblivious Mrs. Pownall.
Her hostess remains eyeing the various wine bottles. Her developed form causes the black cashmere pullover turtleneck to bulge detailing a muscular back. Maddie waits anxiously to see the once paraplegic's front. She is not disappointed.
My word!
A sharp screech zooms through her mind.
Her breasts are lovely.
The biologist is so stunned by the fiftyish woman's figure, she does not notice Elaine's arms and shoulders. The pullover gives the appearance of a well-defined mannequin.
She looks magnificent.
With her last thought, Maddie glances downward.
Look at her ass. Her shape.
"Here, my dear. A penny for your thoughts."
Maddie tenses her shoulders at the request.
"Anyway," ignoring her guest's uneasiness. "I remember Ben told me you enjoy a nice merlot."
"Thank you, Mrs. Pownall."
"What?!" Elaine's voice startles her. "With what we've been through, come on. Call me Elaine…please."
As Maddie nods. Mrs. Pownall takes her elbow and brings the still stunned young woman to the kitchen table.
As she sits, Maddie speaks.
"Thank you for inviting me, but I don't know what this is all about. I mean, I'd love to visit and…"
A strong voice silencers her.
"Don't talk to me like I'm some dumb old busy-body." Elaine's expression is taut and unblinking.
"I know that bitch hurt my son." She raises a finger to halt any response. "Hope came to me cause of it." Elaine's breath streams from flaring nostrils, as her lips recede exposing clinched teeth.
"But, it was a …"
"Don't cover for the little bitch. You know and I know what she's doin' to my son."
After taking a deep breath, calm eases onto her expression.
She speaks in a tranquil tone.
"What she is doing to someone we both love." Elaine sits down next to a rattled Maddie.
A slight tremor courses through her spine.
Placing a steady hand on the shaken young woman, "you love him. I know it." Elaine does not stop. "You two will have a baby someday. I think it is wonderful."
"But…"
"But nothing. Maddie, I know what she wants. How disgusting." An upper lip curls at the thought. It does not stop her words.
"I am as strong, or even stronger than her." She licks an upper lip. "When Hope arrives, we'll all have a little girl talk."
"Hope, I don't understand." Maddie states.
"Oh, that little girl is destined to be Queen someday, but all she wants is to be a human. Live a human life. Love like a human." Elaine pauses. A smile arises on her face as Maddie remains silent.
"My sweet granddaughter wants to find someone to love. Not just mate with some male stranger from the deep."
Maddie's dark eyes match her opened mouth.
"That little girl…and she is not little anymore." A harsh chuckle sneaks from her mouth. "She thinks of Ben as her real father. He saved her life from that nut job, Tia."
"Ahh…" Maddie is bewildered.
"Listen to me, and you can have a normal life with my son, and if," she takes a breath. "God wills it…a child."
"Mrs." She shuts her eyes and starts again. "Elaine, how?"
"Don't worry about how." The reply.
"But, I love Ryn also. You don't understand." Maddie tells the flushed faced woman. Elaine's skin had gained a darker hue.
"You can love someone that treats your Ben as if he's some sex slave or whatever. I'm surprised at you."
Pownall stands, inhaling her chest rises adding bulk to her muscular frame.
"But…Elaine, maybe we can talk. The three of us. Ryn, me," Maddie needs to take a breath. "Ben, yes. The three of us."
"Are you kidding?" Elaine asks. Her head is inches from Maddie's.
"She is the Queen. Royalty from under the sea. We are all supposed to be subservient to that bitch."
She lowers her head looking the young woman in the eye.
"Don't worry. I have a plan." Smirking as she speaks.
Drawing closer to her guest, Elaine takes several deep breaths. She chuckles.
"Maddie, my goodness." The woman puts her hand on the red ribbed sweater. Pulling up the garment, Elaine rubs the soft skin above the jean's beltline. She even opens the button, causing the zipper to separate.
"Mrs. Pownall," her words come from a stiffened posture. Maddie is unable to move.
Sliding her fingers to the lower abdomen of the rigid young woman, Elaine's eyebrows shoot upward.
"Oh, Maddie…" Her smile broadens.
"Mrs. Pownall, please. What is it? Please…stop."
"Congratulations my sweetheart. I sense it will be a boy."
"Ahh!"
The doorbell causes Maddie to shriek.
