Double Duel Part 1

I don't own Digimon or Yu-Gi-Oh

"This is the place." Kaiba said, a furious expression on his face as he, Yami and White Veemon stood outside a tall skyscraper that towered above the other buildings around it. "When I get my hands on those Rare Hunters…" he growled out, clenching his fists tightly.

"Do not worry Kaiba, we will defeat them and rescue your brother and my friends." Yami reassured the CEO as both walked to the building's entrance.

"White Veemon, I need you to do something for me." Kaiba said, looking to his partner who smiled up at him and nodded.

"Of course, Seto, name it." The Digimon said softly.

"I need you to call for a helicopter, see if you can somehow track down where the Rare Hunters are holding my brother and the others." Kaiba told him, handing him a communicator.

"Right away. Don't worry, Seto. I won't let you down." He promised, walking off to use the communicator.

"That should help Kaiba, thank you." Yami told the teen who scoffed. He then walked into the elevator with Yami following him and the elevator rocketed up to the rooftop.

"Listen closely, I only care about my little brother's safety, I could care less about your friends." Kaiba told him with a glare.

"Even you don't believe that." Yami replied softly making Kaiba give him a glare for a moment. "Hopefully White Veemon will be okay."

"Don't underestimate my partner. He's quite intelligent and most of my people know to listen to him when I am not around." Kaiba explained.

The elevator soon reached the top of the building and the doors opened with a ding, both stepped out and saw two Rare Hunters standing across from them on the glass skylight on the rooftop. "Ah, I see you've both arrived just like I told you to, that's good." The short and pudgy one of the two Rare Hunters said, his hood over his face obscuring it for now.

"We've kept up our end of the deal, so why don't you honour yours and release the prisoners." Kaiba demanded.

"That won't be happening so easy. You're going to have to duel us both, and only if you manage to defeat us will you see your friends and family again." The taller Rare Hunter said with a chuckle.

"We've beaten you two chumps before, just because you're acting tougher doesn't mean things will change." Kaiba told them both, already growing impatient with the two.

"Ah, but back then we allowed you to win. All part of the plan." The short Rare Hunter replied, looking up at them both, the sunlight shone down showing his face, the left side covered by a smiling white mask. "I am Lumis."

"And I am Umbra." The second Rare Hunter said, the sunlight showing the red and black Oni mask on the right side of his face.

"I don't care if you're both Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum, get on with it." Kaiba said.

"Impatient, that'll be your downfall Kaiba." Lumis said. "This will be a double duel, both of you against us both, all four of us shall begin with 4000 life-points, you must defeat both your opponents to win the duel. As for the losers, that's simple, look at where you're standing." He said, tapping the glass with his foot. "A thin layer of glass between you and a 50 foot drop to the ground below, when your life-points reach zero the bombs on the glass behind you will detonate, shattering the glass and sending you to your doom."

"I hope this building has a good clean up crew, they'll be needing it to get rid of the filth you two will leave behind." Kaiba said sadistically, his eyes narrowed and cold as ice. "This is the second mistake you've made today, the first was kidnapping my little brother, and the second was challenging me to a duel."

"We'll see about that Kaiba." Lumis said, the four duelists activating their duel disks and their life-points climbed to 4000 each.

"And I will rescue my friends," Yami promised.

"How touching, but our decks were specially designed to take down your Egyptian God Cards by Master Marik," Umbra informed with a grin.

"Let the duel begin. I will go first." Lumis said, drawing a card from his deck he smirked. "I set two cards face down and end my turn. Best make your move quickly." He told Yami.

Yami scowled at the Rare Hunter before drawing a card. "I summon Beta the Magnet Warrior in Defence mode; this will protect me from your attacks Rare Hunter." He said, the magnet warrior appearing in front of him, kneeling with its arms crossed.

"No duelist can make an attack until each of us has drawn once, by then we should be able to pick up on their strategy." Kaiba thought, watching as Umbra drew his card.

"I summon Shining Abyss in Defence mode." He said, the monster he summoned had golden wings, a large sphere in place of its legs and it groaned softly as they all saw it had 1600 Attack points and 1800 Defence points.

"Now you shall see why we work so well together, activate Mask of Brutality!" Lumis shouted, activating one of his set cards sending a pillar of light into the air which dove down towards Shining Abyss.

"Thank you Lumis, your mask will be a perfect fit for my monster." Umbra said, the light hit his monster and Kaiba and Yami watched as a vicious looking mask, with sharp clawed hands jutting out of where the eyes would be formed on its face.

"Not only that Umbra, but it will boost your monster's attack by 1000 points." Lumis replied, Shining Abyss let out a cry as its Attack points climbed to 2600.

"They already have a monster on the field with that high of an Attack?" Kaiba questioned. Both Rare Hunters shared a smirk and laughed.

"Indeed, and Mask of Brutality will keep my monster's attack at 2600 as long as we pay 1000 life-points for every turn the card is in play. That is unless I play this magic card, Masked Doll." Umbra said, placing a magic card which appeared behind Shining Abyss which had the picture of a doll on it with a wooden stake driven through its chest. "Thanks to this card, it absorbs all negative effects of the Mask of Brutality."

"Nice work, now both our life-points will be safe." Lumis said. "Bear witness to our teamwork, it is unbeatable."

"Don't get ahead of yourself." Kaiba told him. "I can crush you both on my own."

"Kaiba," Yami growled out in warning, but he was ignored as Kaiba drew a card.

"It's my turn, I lay two cards face down and then since I have no monsters on the field, I get to special summon Kaiser Vorse Raider." He said, summoning the monster which appeared in front of him, showing the monster to be half man, half beast with horse like hooves covered in purple and blue armour, as was his chest and he wore a helmet with spikes and wielded a large battle scythe that crackled with electricity.

"Oh, I'm so scared." Umbra said, not worrying about the monster's 1900 attack and 1200 defence points.

"What the fools do not realise is, I have a stronger monster in my hand ready to go. But if that fails to work, Kaiser Vorse Raider's special ability will do just fine." Kaiba thought with a smug grin.

"Now it is my turn. Accepting our challenge was a grave mistake," Lumis said, drawing his next card he smirked. "Now then behold my Mask of the Accursed magic card, it should fit nicely on your Magnet Warrior." He played the magic card and a mask formed over Beta the Magnet Warrior's face with spikes stuck in the mask. "Now your monster cannot attack or defend, and for every turn you take you'll lose 500 life-points." He explained to Yami. "I'll also play this card on the field and end my turn, now it's back to you. And you lose your first 500 life-points thanks to my Mask of the Accursed." He added and Yami looked at his life-point indicator which fell to 3500.

"Lumis hasn't played one monster card, it might be because his deck is full of magic and trap cards to bolster the monsters Umbra summons from his deck." Yami thought, drawing his next card. "Archfiend of Gilfer, perfect. I can sacrifice my Magnet Warrior to summon this."

"If he is thinking of making a move, he had better not mess this up for me. I defeated both Rare Hunters on my own. I don't need him dragging me down with him when he loses." Kaiba thought, looking directly at Yami as he made his move.

"Now I sacrifice my Magnet Warrior…!"

"I don't think so. Activate trap card, Mask of Restrict!" Lumis shouted, activating one of his face down cards and a large mask appeared on the field. "Now while this card is on the field, neither of you can sacrifice your monsters to summon stronger monsters, now you can't win!"

"I knew it." Kaiba growled out. "If we lose this duel because of you, I will make you regret it." He promised Yami.

"Of course, without the ability to sacrifice your Egyptian God Cards are practically useless, until we collect them for Master Marik that is." Umbra said.

"If he thinks one puny trap card will stop me from bringing down the might of Obelisk on their heads, he's wrong." Kaiba thought.

"Since I cannot sacrifice my Magnet Warrior, I summon Kuriboh in defence mode and end my turn." Yami said, the furball appearing on the field beside Beta the Magnet Warrior.

Yami then looked to Kaiba who noticed and scoffed. "If you think I'm about to listen to your whole teamwork speech, think again. Who needs it anyway?"

"You do." Yami replied with a small frown.

"If you two are done arguing, it's my move." Umbra said, drawing a card and he considered his options. He could attack Yami's Magnet Warrior, but that would mean destroying Lumis' Mask of the Accursed. Then again, he could attack Kaiba's monster, but the two face down cards unnerved him.

Fortunately for him, both his and Lumis' masks had hidden microphones. "Don't worry Umbra, I've got you covered. Attack!" Lumis insisted.

"Very well, Shining Abyss I switch you to attack mode so that you may destroy Kaiba's monster!" Umbra said. His monster charged a ball of light between its hands before Kaiba smirked.

"Hold on, you've activated a trap of my own. Ring of Destruction!" he said, Yami's eyes widened as a ring formed around Umbra's monster laced with explosives. "This card will destroy your monster right where it stands. We'll both lose 2000 life-points, but it will be only you who is down a monster." Kaiba explained.

"I think not, activate the trap card, Curse Transfer!" Lumis said with a smirk, activating another of his face down cards.

"What!?" Kaiba gasped.

"This counter trap card is triggered whenever you play a trap card. It automatically transfers your trap card back to your own monster." Lumis explained as the Ring of Destruction appeared around Kaiba's Kaiser Vorse Raider.

"Both of them will lose close to 2000 life-points when Kaiba's monster is destroyed, unless they have a magic card to protect them." Yami thought, turning to Kaiba. "Kaiba, they may be up to something!"

"Be quiet, I told you already I don't need your advice to win this duel." Kaiba told him as his monster was destroyed in an explosion, but when the smoke cleared a ring of shields was in front of Kaiba spinning rapidly. "With my Ring of Defence card, I'll be protected from any damage I would have taken."

"Why thank you, it won't be you who is safe from harm Kaiba." Umbra said with a smirk. "Because I activate my face down card Spell Transfer, this steals your magic card and gives it to me. So, my life-points are safe while yours are devastated." He said, the Ring of Defence appearing in front of him in a flash of light as Kaiba's life-points fell to 2100.

"And now a replay occurs, Shining Abyss attack and wipe out the rest of Kaiba's life-points!" Umbra shouted; his monster charged another orb of light before sending it flying towards Kaiba. "You're finished Kaiba, now you'll never see that little brat you call a brother again!"

"No…" Kaiba's voice failed him as the attack closed in on him, but at the last moment a wall of Kuribohs appeared absorbing the attack with plenty more copies of Kuriboh floating in front of Kaiba as the ones destroyed reformed.

"What happened!?" Lumis shouted, all eyes turning to Yami as he chuckled and the other three saw one his face down cards had been activated.

"It's simple really, I used the magic card Multiply to create an impenetrable wall of Kuribohs, now none of your attacks will harm my partner's life-points." He explained.

"They won't be around for too long, and when they're gone so will your life-points." Umbra said.

"I realise your magic card saved me, but next time I'll do it myself!" Kaiba angrily shouted at Yami.

"If you ever expect to see your brother again, we have to help each other, when one of us is defeated the other won't be able to survive against their combined assault."

"Are you questioning my skills as a duelist?" Kaiba questioned.

"Considering you've lost both times you have dueled Daisuke, someone who was a novice back when you dueled her, I suppose I am." He replied and Kaiba grit his teeth.

"Daisuke, hn didn't Master Marik make mention of having plans for her?" Umbra questioned Lumis through their hidden microphones.

"How should I know, focus on the duel. I will get rid of that wall of furballs, don't worry." He promised with a small smirk.

Kaiba frowned as he drew his next card. "Blue Eyes White Dragon, this monster could destroy theirs with ease, but I'd need to tribute two weaker monsters and that's not possible with their Mask of Restrict on the field, but I'll find a way to do it and they'll be sorry they ever messed with me." He thought. "I'll place a card face down, and then I'll summon Battle Ox in defence mode, to protect my life-points." Battle Ox appeared on the field, surrounded by the army of Kuribohs and snorted softly.

"Before I wipe out the rest of your life-points I will need to get rid of your wall of mini furballs." Lumis said, his turn beginning as he drew a card. "And now I have just the card to do it, another mask. Behold, Mask of Dispel!" he said, placing the magic card and Yami's Multiply magic card glowed purple before the mask formed over the card. "This card will conceal your magic card's power, thereby cancelling out its magic and reducing your army of Kuribohs down to one. And just like my other mask that your Magnet Warrior is wearing, you lose five hundred life-points for every turn you take."

"Oh no, that means I'll lose one thousand life-points every turn." Yami thought in worry.

"And I'm not done with you yet, I summon Grand Tiki Elder to the field in attack mode!" Lumis said, the monster appearing a spiral of purple flames, and the figure wearing a purple cloak and a mask over its face waved its arms around and it had 1500 attack and 800 defence points. "Now destroy his Kuriboh!" Lumis shouted and his monster unleashed a blast of magic from its mask and Kuriboh was destroyed in a flash of light.

"Not only can you not sacrifice your monsters to summon stronger ones, but you lose 1000 life-points every turn you take." Umbra said as Yami's life-points fell to 2500. "Now there is nothing you can do!"

"We'll see." Yami replied, looking to his deck he drew a card and saw it was Chain Destruction. "This card won't help us turn this duel around," he thought. "But on the other hand, Card Destruction would force us all to discard our hands and draw new cards, but if Kaiba has a plan I could ruin it for him."

"What're you waiting for?" Kaiba questioned him. "You clearly can't make this worse than it already is, in fact I have a card in my hand that can turn this duel around for us, but unfortunately thanks to your sloppy dueling I can't summon it, it's better off in the Graveyard."

"It's almost like he wants me to use the card." Yami thought, thinking over what to do while Lumis cackled.

"Have you ever seen such a pathetic team?" he asked Umbra.

"Defeating them both will be easy. They've done most of the work for us." He replied with a smirk.

"That's enough, I set one card face down and end my turn." Yami said.

"Looks like you couldn't summon another monster to defend yourself, a pity." Umbra said, drawing a card to begin his turn. "But before I can crush you, I'll play the Ritual card, Curse of the Masked Beast."

"What is that!?" both Yami and Kaiba questioned, watching as two giant metal torches appeared on either side of a two-legged torch with a mask and two sharp horns on it.

"This card allows me to sacrifice both our monsters and bring forth an unstoppable beast the likes of which you've never seen before." Umbra said, both Masked Tiki Elder and Shining Abyss flew onto the two torches which set both ablaze and the third torch between them was set ablaze also with bright blue flames that roared into the sky and in a flash of light the ritual monster appeared in front of both Lumis and Umbra.

"The powerful Masked Beast!" Lumis cackled, the monster had a long thick red tail, two monstrous looking legs, covered in masks showing all expressions, while the upper torso was twisted and muscular with a mask on its chest, two spikes jutting out of its shoulders and a mask covered its head and both Yami and Kaiba saw it had 3200 attack points.

"Nothing can stop his wrath, so prepare to lose it all Yugi." Umbra told him.

"It can't be!"

"Now Masked Beast, destroy him!" Umbra ordered, his monster growled and charged at Yami who closed his eyes waiting for the attack.

"Battle Ox defend!" Kaiba suddenly shouted, his monster roaring and rushing over to block the attack taking it for Yami and it was destroyed when Masked Beast's staff struck it in the chest.

"What's this, Kaiba's monster intercepted my attack!?" Umbra shouted.

"Are you surprised, this is a double duel, and my partner was in danger. So, I had my Battle Ox defend his life-points from your monster's attack." Kaiba said.

"I thought they weren't working together!" Umbra questioned Lumis.

"Thank you." Yami said to Kaiba.

"Don't think too much on it, I only saved you so that we could win." He replied with a cold glare.

"Fool, you've lost your only defence and when my Masked Beast attacks again you'll be finished for sure." Umbra said.

"Reveal face down card, Card Destruction!" Yami shouted, activating his face down card.

"Oh no!" Lumis shouted.

"We lose our entire hands!" Umbra added in disbelief.

"That's right, now we each discard our hands to the Graveyard and start over with a brand-new hand." Yami explained, discarding his hand with a hidden smirk as he knew the Rare Hunters would be in for a shock shortly.

Lumis, Umbra and Kaiba also discarded their hands. "Did your partner make you give up any good cards?" Lumis asked Kaiba.

"Actually; it is quite the opposite, because of your bargain bin mask I couldn't summon the monster in my hand, but now that it's in the Graveyard that restriction is no longer going to stop me. Reveal Monster Reborn!" Kaiba said, revealing his set card.

"Oh no!" Lumis gasped.

"Come on back, Blue Eyes White Dragon!" Kaiba shouted, in a brilliant flash of light one of his monster powerful monsters appeared on the field with a tremendous roar. "This is the price you pay for daring to harm the people I care about." He growled to both Rare Hunters. "Maybe next time you and your boss will think twice before daring to start a fight with me!"
