"Mr. Endeavour, Sir…" The doctor attempted without much luck.

"Dad-." Shoto tried to help her out but he wasn't listening.

"What do you mean two months, how could he possibly have to be in here for two months?!"

"Sir, Touya is severely malnourished and has a wide range of mishealed broken bones, scars down his neck and arms, and from our assessments we believe that his quirk isn't suited to his body which is most likely the cause. Unsurprisingly after so long spent in such an environment it's very likely that he is also suffering from anxiety, hypervigilance, PTSD, and depression; it's possible that he may develop separation anxiety too so we are currently limiting the amount of time he can spend with Master Aizawa for both of their sakes."

"I want to see my son."

"Sir with all due respect Touya needs stability and a low stress environment right now, the doctors made the decision regarding your visitations due to your inability to control your anger and lower your voice in the first few days he was admitted. Do you understand, if you do not calm down it will be detrimental to your son's recovery?"

Enji took a breath.

"I apologise, my emotions got the better of me, I just… knowing that my son is alive and checked into this hospital but not being allowed to see him it's… it's killing me."

The doctor looked him over before scribbling something down in her notes.

"Give yourself half-an-hour to cool off and then you can go and see him; but, only for an hour, he needs some sleep."

He bowed.

"Thank you."

At the sight of his father entering the room, Touya slumped back against the pillows with a groan.

"You finally talked them round, huh?"

Silence.

"What, cat got your tongue, after everything you've done since I've been in that facility?"

Enji's eyes raised at that.

"Yeah, Shoto and Natsuo have been filling me in. How do you have the gall to call yourself a hero? How do they let you play pretend? I know the world has changed since I was last free but I don't think celebrating wife beating child abusers and giving them the title of number two hero was something we did."

"Touya…"

"What? What justification could you possibly have?"

"None."

"How could you do that to them, Shoto was just a kid, hell he still is a kid! And Mom..." He shook his head.

"I was reckless and stupid and I never deserved any of you. I'll carry my regrets for the rest of my life and beyond. But for now I'm just glad that you're alive."

"You tried your eugenics shit out on me and then nearly got me killed. I was your little failure wasn't I, constantly making myself sick with dangerously high fevers because of my quirk. It was your fault I was taken in the first place, that damn Takahashi might have saved my life but he may as well have killed me, it would have been kinder than enduring half my life in that hell."

"You were dying; I had to find someone..." Enji cleared his throat as his voice shook a little. "They knocked me out and when I woke up you were gone. I looked for you every hour of every day for months; years even but every time I got close to something it all went cold. I'll never forgive myself for losing you, and I hurt those around me in grief. It's not an excuse and I never want to be forgiven because there's no redemption for me. What happened to you has tortured me every day since and always will and the fact that you were alive and living through all that just makes it so much worse because now I know that I didn't find you either. If a hero can't even find his own son then he's not much of a hero. I've failed this family and torn it apart, I hurt my children, my wife, and I've cursed us all through my own actions and for that I'm sorry. There's nothing that will right what I've done and I will accept whatever level of involvement you wish for me to have with you all from this point on."

He reached into his pocket and pulled out an envelope before handing it over to Touya.

"What's this?"

"I've been working on it since that purple-haired kid first told us you were alive. I submitted plans for a new build in the city not too far from here."

Touya opened the letter finding floor plans and schematics.

"You built a house?"

"I talked to your Mother's nurses; they agreed that she would never be able to live at the house, not after everything that has happened in those walls so a new start would be good for you all. She needs somewhere you can welcome her home to; it's the least she deserves."

Enji went to stand up.

"Hey…"

He paused.

"I probably won't ever be able to forgive you, not for what you did to Mom and Shoto, and the neglect you showed Natsuo and Fuyumi… but what happened to me wasn't your fault. With having Hitoshi as my kid I know what lengths you'll go to to keep them safe and taking me to Takahashi was your last resort to try and save my life."

Enji was silent but Touya could see the effect his words were having on his father through the slight shakes in his hand.

"Thanks for the house too, they're gonna' love it."

He nodded and headed for the door, hovering with a hand on the frame before he turned to look back at Touya.

"I know I'm probably the last person you'd ever want to do something for but-."

"I'll look after Sho, Nat, and Yumi, don't worry, Dad."

"That's not what I was going to say." He took a breath before continuing. "Don't let anyone hold you back from going out there and living. You have a lot of catching up to do and you deserve to experience every second of what life has to offer."

He nodded.

"I will."

"That's all I ask."

And with that, Enji exited the room.

Author's Note: I don't support Endeavour's redemption at all in the manga, and this fic won't either so pls don't think just because he is going to keep popping up and he is going to be around the other Todoroki's in a 'family' setting where they're being civil that that means I'm excusing everything that he's done because I'm certainly not.

Touya is forgiving him for his kidnapping not anything that Endeavour did during his absence.
