October 29
I got distracted and didn't finish writing last night. Yasha and I had gone for a long walk and when we got back home we went to bed. By the time we were finished making love, I was too exhausted to finish writing.
Anyway, where was I?
Inuyasha and Koga had been caught off guard and I had to act fast. I pulled out another arrow and aimed for the demon behind them. It would be a difficult shot but they would be seriously injured if I didn't do anything.
I let the arrow fly and just as it was letting out its fire, the arrow went straight into its mouth and it was purified. Once the demon was gone, Yasha and Koga looked in my direction.
"Good job, Kagome!" Koga shouted. Then he and Inuyasha continued their tag-team effort to destroy the lizards.
"That was impressive," Ginta said to me.
"Thanks!" I replied.
Then we heard the screech of a lizard and when we turned it was coming straight for us.
"Let's go!" Hakakku exclaimed as we ran from the lizard.
After a few seconds of running, the lizard was gone and Inuyasha was standing in its place. "Didn't I tell you to watch after her?!"
I reached out and kissed him. "Go finish fighting with your buddy Koga."
"I don't know if I'd call us buddies…" Inuyasha grumbled.
All of a sudden Koga was in front of us fighting off a particularly aggressive lizard. "There you are!" he said when he saw Inuyasha. "A little help here?!"
Inuyasha jumped into the air over Koga and stabbed the lizard in the back just as Koga stabbed it in the eye.
The number of lizards had dwindled significantly. There were only about 20 left.
"One last wind scar should finish them off," Inuyasha said. He gave them one last attack and the last of the lizards were gone.
Or so we thought. The final demon was coming straight for Inuyasha but Koga stopped it by stabbing it in the gut with his sword.
"Looks like that's the last of them," Koga said, kicking over the dead lizard carcass.
"You guys were great!" I said.
"Yeah, the way you kicked that one giant one's ass was so amazing!" Hakakku said.
Inuyasha and Koga smiled and almost high fived again but then they caught themselves and instead looked away from each other and crossed their arms. I sighed with disappointment. I thought this was going to be the moment they became friends but maybe I was wrong. The wolf demons started to clean up and tend to the injured and I guess things would go back to normal from this point on.
"Hey, so um, Inuyasha?" Koga finally said.
"What?" Inuyasha said, finally looking in Koga's direction.
Koga cleared his throat. "Thanks for coming. We, um, we couldn't have done without you."
"You're welcome," Inuyasha said, sounding just as uncomfortable. "Glad we were able to stop them from eating all of your people."
The two gave a small smile and then looked away from each other again.
"It's a start I guess," Hakakku said.
"These two are stubborn as hell," Ginta added.
I nodded in agreement. Stubborn as hell was an understatement.
Then Inuyasha and Koga glared at us. "Who are you calling stubborn?!"
"You just proved his point," I said.
"Whatever," Inuyasha said. He put his arm around me. "Are you ready to go home?"
"Yes, I'm ready."
We said goodbye to the wolves and then I got on Inuyasha's back and we went home. Despite Inuyasha and Koga not being able to admit it, I still think something shifted between them today. Maybe from now on they'll be friends, or at the very least will stop fighting each other whenever they see each other. It would certainly help with my headaches.
