November 2

The fall season is well underway now. The weather has gotten much cooler, most of the leaves have fallen, and those that haven't have changed colors and are hanging onto the trees for dear life. People in the village have been harvesting the food they've grown during the summer and are preparing for winter to start.

Today was an unusually warm day so Inuyasha and I took advantage of it and decided to have a picnic this afternoon. I made us a special lunch of ramen and fruit salad along with some drinks we had brought from my era. Then I packed it all into a basket and grabbed a blanket for us to sit on. Now I just had to find out where Inuyasha had disappeared to.

When I came out of the house, I found him sitting on the roof. "Honey?"

He jumped off the roof and landed next to me. Before I could before anything more he pressed a passionate kiss to my lips. "Ready to go?"

I nodded, still a little dazed from that sweet kiss. "Yes."

He took the picnic basket and blanket from me to carry himself and then we set off to find a nice destination for our lunch. We laid out our picnic blanket in a meadow not far away and I started to take the food out.

"Mmm ninja food!" Inuyasha exclaimed. He kissed my cheek. "You're the best, Kagome!" He opened the container and started to eat his noodles.

I giggled. "So it's true what they say, the key to a man's heart is through his stomach."

"The key to my heart is ramen."

"What will you do when we run out?"

Inuyasha looked heartbroken at the thought. "I guess I'll just have my memories to console me."

I laughed again and continued to eat my ramen as well. "Hey look!" I said pointing at the squirrels chasing each other up a tree. "Aren't they cute?"

"Must be lovers," Inuyasha said.

"How can you tell?"

"A man who really loves a woman will always follow her."

I smiled. That was true. Inuyasha had always come after me. "I know that first hand."

"And I'll always come for you, baby."

We finished with our food and then lay back on the blanket looking up at the clouds rolling by.

"Did you ever try to see pictures in the clouds?" I asked.

"My mother and I would do that together. On a nice day like this, we'd find a place to sit away from the villagers who always had something to say. It made it easier to forget."

I hugged him a bit closer to me. "I'm sorry things were so hard for you back then."

He kissed the top of my head. "That was then. It doesn't matter anymore. All of that seems like a different lifetime now."

I laced my fingers in his. My hand fit so perfectly in his as it always did from the first time we'd ever held hands many years ago. "It's amazing how so much pain can feel like such a long time ago."

Suddenly he rolled over on top of me. His hair hung in a curtain around our faces and his gold eyes looked at me in that intense way that captured me as if he were looking into my soul. "None of that matters anymore. I've found my forever. You're all I need."

He has such a way with words. It touches my soul and makes me want to cry with joy for how much this incredible man loves me. "As long as I have you I'm complete," I said as I ran my fingers across his cheeks.

I moaned softly when his lips touched mine. My arms snaked around his neck to hold him closer to me. His tongue entered my mouth to begin a sensual dance with mine. Inuyasha was always so intoxicating. He made me feel so warm, so loved, and so safe. Whatever pain and loneliness we felt before really did feel like such a lifetime ago. When I'm with him, I feel like I'm home and that's all I need.

Then I yelped when I felt him pinch my butt. "Inuyasha!"

Now he fell onto his back laughing.

"Okay, now you're asking for it!" I sat on his lap and started tickling him.

"Ah! Kagome!"

I'm the only one who knows Inuyasha's secret: he's very ticklish.

He pushed me off him. "Get away from me!" He stood up and started to run away.

"Oh no you don't! Come here!" I got up and started to run after him.

"You'll never catch me, Kagome!"

He was much faster than me, even when he wasn't running nearly at full speed. But I had my ways. The ground was littered with fallen leaves. I picked up a pile of them and when I got close enough I dumped them onto his head. While he was distracted, I took advantage of that and jumped onto his back.

"Gotcha!"

"You're such a bad girl, Kagome!"

I laughed and held on tightly as he spun me around. "That's why you love me."

He put me down in the grass and got on top of me again but I wanted to assert my dominance and be on top of him. We rolled around in the leaves for a moment and ended with me on top of him.

I placed a quick kiss on his lips. "I win," I said smugly.

"I'd say we both win like this," he said with a smirk.

His hands trailed up my legs and wandered up to my back. I leaned down and kissed his lips again, this time more passionately. Things like this were always so easy for us; whether we were kissing or just rolling around having fun, everything between us was always so effortless.

I looked into his beautiful gold eyes again and gently stroked his ear. He sighed as I did, I knew it was relaxing for him when I rubbed his ears. "I love you, Yasha."

"I love you too, Kagome." He tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. "More than anything in the world."
