#Caught

A/N: A little follow up to chapter 66!

Can you imagine Alex's face? LMFAO!

Alex lasted a whole ten hours. She'd called and texted but hadn't received a response from her injured sister, so she decided to go over to her apartment to check on her. The director just wanted to make sure that Kara was ok but didn't want to disturb her if she was still sleeping, so she let herself in using her spare key and crept toward the bedroom. It was barely after seven, and the apartment was cloaked in dimness, so she completely missed the Louis Vuitton purse sitting on the kitchen table.

The curtain separating Kara's bed from the rest of the loft was slightly ajar, so Alex stuck her head into the space, expecting to see her sister, clad in fluffy pajamas and wrapped around one of the big pillows she favored. But instead, Alex was floored to find Kara totally relaxed, naked and wrapped around an equally naked Cat Grant, whose arms were tightly wrapped around her in return. The director swallowed and slowly backed up, turning as she went and heading back out the door as quietly as possible. All the way to the DEO, she tried to reconcile what she'd seen. Kara hadn't mentioned anything about Cat and Alex didn't want to pry… but a part of her was hurt that her sister hadn't confided in her. She shook her head as she pulled into her parking spot and resigned herself to getting on with her day.

Xx

"Hey," Kara said brightly as she came up behind her sister. She was smiling from ear to ear and Alex couldn't help but smile in return. The hero looked happy.

"Morning," Alex replied as she crossed her arms. "You're looking chipper. Sleep well?"

"Like a log," the hero grinned, then winced as the bruises on her face reminded her they were still there.

"So," the director said nonchalantly. "How long have you and Cat been doing that?"

Kara's mouth dropped open as her blue eyes widened. "Wh-what? H-How did you…?"

Alex chuckled softly. "I dropped by this morning on my way here to check on you and… well... you weren't alone." She reached out and touched her sister's forearm. "Why didn't you tell me, Kara?"

For a moment, the hero just blinked at her but then she perched her hands on her hips and started to pace. Alex couldn't tell if she was mad or not, so she just waited. "It's very new," Kara finally said. "That's why I haven't said anything. Our first time was a few days ago. I was still at the office when Cat texted me to tell me she'd left something on her desk and to ask if I could spare a moment to bring it to her at her house."

Alex nodded and crossed her arms. "I see."

"So, I told her I'd bring it right to her. When I got there, she was cooking dinner, so we sat and chatted for a while over a glass of wine. She said that Carter would be home later and invited me to stay, so we ate together and…" Kara smiled. "It was really nice, Alex, just chatting about old times and laughing together. It felt really good."

The director nodded again. "What happened then?"

"Cat went to the oven to take out a pie, but it slipped in her oven mitt and burned her hand. I went to her and took it to cool the burn down with freeze breath, but she looked at me and… I'd never seen that look on her face before, Alex." Kara's voice gentled. "I don't even know which one of us made the first move, but next thing I knew, we were kissing… and we…" She sighed dreamily at the memory. "On… on the kitchen island… and then again in her bed… and… and it was amazing, Alex." The director couldn't help but smile at the happiness in her sister's face. But then Kara frowned and shook her head. "But I kind of screwed up. I heard Carter come home and I thought Cat would want me to leave. Turns out I was wrong. Cat thought…" Kara swallowed and shook her head again. "Cat thought that I left because I wanted it to just be sex."

"Shit," Alex murmured.

"And then she saw me get hurt on TV and I stupidly didn't tell her I was ok, and she didn't know if it was ok to text you to see if I WAS ok so… she came to my apartment, Alex. She came to check up on me and we talked and stuff and…"

"And had sex again," Alex chuckled.

"No... Well yeah... but not until early this morning," the hero replied softly. "I was in pain last night, so she just held me for most of it." She grinned then. "It's probably a good thing you didn't come any earlier than you did, or you may have seen something you could never unsee."

"And… are you ok?" Alex asked. "It's kind of a lot, right?"

"Yeah," Kara replied softly. "But in a really great way, you know? She tried to talk me out of it… as if she isn't good for me… but she IS good for me. And I'm so happy, Alex. How can feeling this way be anything but good?"

Alex wrapped her arms around her sister and kissed her head as she squeezed her. "I'm happy for you." She sighed then with a grimace. "And you know, I've kind of already seen something I can't unsee."

Kara chuckled and gently patted her sister's cheek in mock sympathy. "It's ok," she teased. "You'll live."
