Fitz sat in Maya's living room waiting for her to return with his coffee. When he left the hospital, she called to find out if he and Olivia we're okay now. Maya had a lot of questions when he called her yesterday asking about Olivia. When he told her about the accident, she cried for him. Fitz was probably sharing too many details about the recovery mission, his trips to Scotland to identify bodies and plan funerals. The rescue crews still hadn't recovered all of his family members from the lake. He shared how he had to be the main contact for his family in the United States. His mother had an emotional breakdown, and she was drinking alcohol again.
"She wants you to get a hotel?"
"She doesn't want to be my wife right now."
"Too bad. You two are married. You committed yourself to each other. Olivia has to deal with your issues, and she is going to need help with those babies. I'm not keeping little babies."
"I can't be upset that she does not want me around her. I'm wrong for leaving when she needed me."
"You could have called, but you are in DC now. You need to work on your marriage and not from a hotel."
"Olivia won't give me a chance."
"She'll break. I know it. Her job is demanding that she come back to work in a few weeks. Olivia can't walk without limping. She has Karen, a c-section recovery, and three premature newborns. She will need you."
"Harrison is with her."
"That man needs to look for his own wife. He's been trying to get Olivia for years, and she doesn't want more than friendship. She used that to her advantage during the pregnancy. He has been a really good friend and now he doesn't want to leave. He didn't start coming to DC regularly until he started being hired for wedding dates. They're friendship isn't like what they make it out to be. She only talked to him on the phone, and she never invited him to her home until a few months ago. Her busy schedule was always an excuse, but she knew Harrison would start flirting if she spent a lot of time with him. Now she's going to start putting distance between them. You don't have to worry about Harrison."
"That's good to know. It's getting late. I should get to my hotel. Thank you for talking with me."
"I'm always here to listen."
