"Are you going to tell me why you're parked in my driveway?"
Harrison came outside to see who was sitting outside his home. He wasn't expecting to see Fitz.
"I checked Karen's emergency contacts at her school. That's how I know your address. I'm here to talk about Olivia and my kids."
"Olivia is taking Karen to school. I don't think she should be leaving the house every day for that because she has an infection. She wants to be independent again."
"What infection?"
"She's not supposed to leave the house for six weeks. She can't stay home and focus on her health because she has Karen and the hospital needs her to be with the babies every day."
"Why would they tell her to come to the hospital every day when she is supposed to be at home taking care of herself?"
"Her discharge paperwork says a parent needs to be with the babies every day. I can't help her with that."
"You've done a lot for Olivia. I appreciate that. I need to take care of my wife. You need to let me be a husband to Olivia and a father to our kids."
"Do you really mean that, or is your ego talking?"
"Harrison, do you have a key to Olivia's house?"
"Yes."
"I need it."
"I don't think she wants you to have it."
"She doesn't. I know she needs me. I'm not going away."
Harrison took his keys out of his pocket. He knew Olivia was going to be upset. At the same time, he was tired of being responsible for Olivia. Fitz was the reason Olivia was in this situation. Why should he have to take care of his wife? He wanted her to be okay, but he also knew that he would never be more than a friend to Olivia. He couldn't start a relationship when he was being everything for Olivia. He wanted to have a family one day. Maybe it was time for him to take a step back and let Fitz handle his wife.
"I'll give you my key to her house."
"Thank you."
Fitz added the key to his key ring. Harrison said good luck to him and left him outside in his driveway. A few minutes later, Fitz was letting himself in Olivia's house. He was expecting her to be upset. He wasn't expecting her to not bother sitting up and looking to see who was coming in her house. Olivia laid on the sofa with a bucket on the floor. He stepped further into the house and he could see her sit up in time to puke in the bucket. She cried and he could see her trembling. Her white satin lounge clothes were soaked with sweat.
"Livvie."
She didn't look up at him. She was too weak to fight. She could only cry. He pushed the bucket to the side and sat beside her. Her skin was sweaty and clammy. He pulled her towards him and let her cry.
"I'm sorry Livvie."
