Friends 'Till the End Part 3
I don't own Digimon or Yu-Gi-Oh
"Alright we're here." Kari said as Nefertimon flew above the pier with Mai's car driving along the pier below. "Now where are Daisuke and her friends?"
"Over there, check that out?" Tristan called out, pointing to the duel happening nearby. "That has to be them."
"Right, quickly Nefertimon land." Kari told her partner, the Digimon nodded and she began flying down as Mai's car came to a stop behind Veemon, White Veemon and the Kaiba brothers.
"Tristan, Mai, help us guys!" Tea called out from her chair, noticing her friends first while struggling some more in her restraints.
"Does someone want to explain what the heck is going on here?" Willis asked as Tristan and Duke began running over to Tea only for Mokuba to cut them off.
"Don't get any closer." He warned them.
"Why not?" Duke asked.
"Because if we get involved, that crate over Tea's head is going to be dropped on her." Mokuba explained, pointing to the crane and the Rare Hunter inside the cabin who waved the remote trigger with a smirk.
"That's messed up, and why are Daisuke and Yugi duelling?" Tristan asked.
"Marik's taking over Wheeler's mind, he's forcing her to duel him." Kaiba answered, gritting his teeth for a moment.
"And if this duel doesn't end in a few more minutes, that anchor above them is going to drop and send them both into the ocean." Veemon said, worried for his partner and his friend.
"Poor Dai," Serenity whispered, Mai seeing the girl's sadness pulled her into a hug.
"It'll be alright sweetie, if anyone can save your sister, it's Yugi." She reassured her.
Daisuke looked over at the new arrivals and smirked. "Seems we've got some late arrivals, the more the merrier as they all witness your defeat at my hands."
"Not if I set Dai free from your control first, Marik." Yugi said.
"Set her free? Ha what a foolish thing to think." Marik thought while still on his boat holding the Millennium Rod in his hand. "The power of my Millennium Rod will not be broken by the likes of you."
"The moment I've been waiting for is about to arrive, it's all over!" Daisuke said.
"No!" Tristan shouted.
"There's got to be a way to stop this duel." Duke said.
"They'll hurt Tea." Mai said.
"What do we do?" Serenity asked softly.
"Seto, there has to be something you can do, there just has to be." Mokuba said to his older brother. "Tea saved my life, and I know you wouldn't let anything bad happen to Daisuke."
"Forget about me, I'll be fine. Just save Yugi and Daisuke, please!" Tea pleaded.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you brats!" the Rare Hunter inside the crane shouted, getting out with the symbol that showed someone was under Marik's mind control glowing on his forehead.
"There may be a way…" Kaiba mumbled to himself before he pushed the KaibaCorp symbol on his collar. "It's me, now listen up." He whispered.
"Come on Dai, this is your last chance to remember who you are!" Yugi pleaded with his friend.
"Ignore him my servant, play Meteor of Destruction at once, when you do, Little Yugi will take 1000 points of damage, finishing him off for good. I will claim his Millennium Item and Egyptian God Card, he won't be needing them where he's going." Marik's voice rang out in Daisuke's mind.
"No…no I can't let this continue." Daisuke whispered as she stood up and began to bang on the dome surrounding her keeping her trapped and unable to stop Marik from controlling her. As she did so, the Crest of Miracles began to form on her forehead, glowing gently while on the outside she stirred.
"I am…I am Daisuke…" Yugi heard her mutter as she held her head. "I…I remember…I remember Duelist Kingdom and dueling my hardest to get to the top…" she continued, memories flashing through her mind, her victories against Mai Valentine, Rex Raptor, her and Yugi's victory against the Paradox Brothers, her victory against Kaiba using his new Duel Disks, Mai helping her out by giving her own Glory of the King's Hand entry card so she could duel and later defeat Bandit Keith and her duel against Yugi in the finals.
More memories flashed through her mind as well, the ones of her duels in Battle City, against Espa Roba, Weevil Underwood and finally Mako Tsunami. "And dueling in Battle City…" she whispered.
"Also…also I remember giving Dark Magician Girl to Yugi…" she continued, the memory of her telling Yugi that he should keep Dark Magician Girl as she would help him in Battle City and her promise to help him defeat Marik and save the world. "My past…"
"You have no past!" Marik's voice shouted in her mind, she let out a scream clutching her head and fell to her knees. "Now destroy Yugi!" he ordered her. "Do it now, play Meteor of Destruction and finish this duel at once. Your feeble mind is mine to control, do as I command or face severe consequences!"
"NO!" She screamed. "I won't do it, I won't destroy Yugi. He's my best friend!"
"Come on Dai don't let that jerk tell you what to do. You're stronger than he will ever be!" Willis called from the sidelines.
"Remember all the things we've done together, all the times where you were the strongest one out of all of us. Where you wouldn't give in no matter what!" Kari shouted.
"Have to…be….be strong." Daisuke whispered, shaking her head several times. "Remember…remember who I am…"
"It's working, she's breaking free of Marik's control. She just needs to keep it up a little longer." Yugi thought. "Marik, you hide like a coward but wherever you are I know you can hear me, and I've got some news for you! There will be a loser in this duel, but it won't be me or Daisuke, the loser of this duel will be you Marik!"
"What!?" Marik shouted.
"You may have thought you won by forcing Daisuke to duel me by controlling her mind, but you didn't think of this when making your plan, and that's Daisuke's bond with her friends. Time may be running out but Daisuke's back." Yugi said, the clock above the anchor showing only one-minute left before the anchor would be dropped. "And we are in control of this duel now, your power over Daisuke is gone which means you lose. Since Daisuke is free, that means you are not dueling anymore. How can you win this duel when you're not the one dueling?"
"You'll pay for this!" Marik screamed angrily.
"Time's running out!" Tea shouted to Yugi.
"What're you going to do Marik, hide away in your little hideout like a scared little boy until you lose this duel?" Yugi asked Marik. "This is your last chance for victory, so come and get me! Daisuke can't be controlled so it's up to you to finish this!"
"Everyone can be controlled and once I force Daisuke to play Meteor of Destruction you're doomed!" Marik shouted.
Daisuke's hand began to tremble, but she fought back. "No…I won't let you." She growled.
"Silence, nobody can resist my Millennium Rod, behold its ancient and limitless power. Daisuke Wheeler no longer exists." Marik shouted, his Millennium Rod glowing brightly as Daisuke screamed in pain as the glowing eye appeared on her forehead.
"It's over Yugi, I activate Meteor of Destruction!" Marik spoke through her, forcing her to play the magic card and a giant hole appeared in the sky followed by a giant meteor falling from the sky. "By sacrificing 500 life-points I will finish you for good!"
Daisuke's life-points dropped from 1700 to 1200 and inside her mind, Daisuke banged on the dome some more, the Crest of Miracles beginning to glow brightly. "You thought you could resist my power; you were wrong and now your friend will pay the price!" Marik shouted, appearing in front of her with a smirk.
"No!" Daisuke shouted, with one final hit the dome around her shattered, the Crest on her forehead glowing brightly. "I won't let you hurt my friends anymore!"
"Then you will be banished to the Shadow Realm for all eternity, you have served your purpose now begone!" Marik shouted, raising the Millennium Rod above his head only for a hand to clasp his wrist firmly.
"You will do no such thing." Daisuke's eyes widened as she saw her Dark Magician appearing behind Marik with a scowl of pure hatred aimed at the man. "No longer will I let you harm my master." He stated before a roar was heard, and Red Eyes Black Dragon appeared before both monsters began glowing brightly.
"What is this!?" Marik demanded as the two monsters seemed to combine. "Impossible!"
Daisuke watched in awe as the new monster soon appeared standing in front of her protectively.
This new monster was a handsome male standing at a height of six foot four. Much taller than Dark Magician. He had tanned skin with dark reddish black scales littering his arms like gauntlets from the wrist to his elbows, his nails were now retractable claws, his teeth were sharper, his eyes were a bright crimson with a slitted pupil. He was muscular with toned yet defined muscles on his chest and arms. He was bare chested adoring his skin was vibrant red tribal tattoos. The tattoos branched out from his chest across his body down to his hips. He wore dark red leather pants that were low to his hips. Adoring his back were eight leathery dragon wings, his hair was shorter and ashen grey coloured. Coming from his hairline were two long forward pointing horns. Smashing into the ground was a thick onyx tail. In his hands was a black scaled spell book with pages made of human-like texture. Floating beside him was a crimson staff with a glowing ashen sphere curled around the staff was a miniature red eyes black dragon.
"Cool…" Daisuke whispered.
"Now if you'll excuse me master, I must deal with this vermin." The monster growled lowly, thrusting his hand out a powerful blast of magic struck Marik making him scream in agony, like his skin was on fire before he was cast out of Daisuke's mind forever and the man flew across the deck of his ship slamming into a wall with a sickening and bone crunching thud where he slumped, weak and twitching in pain.
"Yugi!" Daisuke called out as a bright light filled her mind before she gasped, opening her eyes, the eye on her forehead shattering like glass, replaced by the Crest of Miracles.
"You did it!" Yugi cheered happily. "And now it's my turn, trap card activate, Mystical Refpanel!" he shouted and a fairy appeared in front of him holding a large mirror. "This will capture Marik's meteor." He said, the oncoming meteor slamming into the mirror before being sucked inside it. "I won't let you be harmed anymore." He told his friend with a smile.
"Yugi's got quite the predicament on his hands, Mystical Refpanel allows him to change the outcome of this duel. He can direct the attack towards either Daisuke or himself." Kaiba thought, his eyes widening when he saw Yugi nodding to Daisuke. "And if either of them tries to escape, Tea's done for unless my plan works but time is running out!"
Daisuke held the Millennium Puzzle in her hands looking at it confused before she looked at Yugi. "Your Millennium Puzzle…you gave it to me…" She said softly.
"Of course, to help you remember our friendship." Yugi told her.
"I know, Marik…Marik tried to make me duel you…and hurt you…" She said, tearing up. "I'm so sorry."
"It's alright Dai, you're safe now. And now it's time for me to end this duel." Yugi said.
"Guys hurry up, only thirty seconds left!" Tea shouted. Everyone then turned hearing a noise and saw Kaiba's helicopter flying into view.
"It's Kaiba's helicopter, but who's flying that thing?" Tristan asked.
"Nobody, it's remote controlled." Mokuba answered as the helicopter flew towards the crane.
"Where'd that come from? I warned you. Time to drop the crate!" the Rare Hunter shouted only for the crane cabin door to be opened up as Joey jumped out.
"I don't think so ya bastard!" He shouted landing on the Rare Hunter's back, he bit hard into the man's ear making him scream and spin around trying to knock Joey off. "Get off me you little!" he shouted, throwing Joey to the ground hard, making the boy cry out in pain.
"Twin Vee-Headbutt!" Veemon and White Veemon shouted, jumping towards the Rare Hunter striking him hard in the chest sending him flying into the crane where he was knocked out on impact.
"Nice teamwork you guys." Kari praised the two Digimon who nodded and began to undo Joey's bindings freeing the boy who hugged them both.
"The chopper's taking out the trap!" Tristan shouted as the helicopter slammed into the crane and dragged it off the pier into the ocean and the explosives attached to the crane went off under water sending a mountain of water into the air.
"Now to save Tea." Tristan said as the group rushed over and Mokuba pressed the buttons on the chair to undo Tea's shackles.
"Thanks, you guys, now let's save Yugi and Daisuke." She said and everyone began running over to Daisuke and Yugi.
"Refpanel redirect your attack towards me!" they heard Yugi shout and they all watched in horror as the fairy turned and the meteor flew from its mirror and slammed into Yugi.
"Yugi!" Everyone screamed, Daisuke's voice being the loudest as tears fell down her face watching her friend fall to the ground, barely conscious as his life-points fell to 0 and the box by Daisuke's feet opened.
"The key, but I can't save myself and let Yugi die. What kind of friend would I be then?" She thought, she then heard a beep and looked up to see that a countdown had begun showing only thirty seconds left before the anchor would drop.
"Save yourself Dai…you only have thirty seconds left before you're dragged under as well…" Yugi told her weakly.
"Oh, hell no!" Daisuke screamed. "I am not letting my best friend become shark bait, we're getting out of this together!" she told her friend as he removed his duel disk. "Don't give up now you idiot!" Her eyes widened for a moment before she smirked. "Dark Magician Girl by the second effect of Meteor of Destruction, attack me directly now wipe out my life-points so Yugi's key will be revealed!"
Her former monster smiled at her and nodded, she spun her sceptre around and fired her magical attack at Daisuke making her scream for a second before her life-points hit 0 and Dark Magician Girl disappeared as both duel disks deactivated. "This duel is a draw!" Daisuke shouted, seeing the box with Yugi's key open she nodded. "Hold on Yugi!"
As Daisuke removed the Millennium Puzzle and her duel disk, Serenity began undoing the bandages around her face before she threw them away and slowly began opening her eyes, she blinked a few times to get used to the light. "I…I can see…" She whispered.
"I'm coming Yugi, Daisuke's on the way!" Daisuke shouted, grabbing the chain she ran as fast as she could and jumped into the air, using the chain to swing across the ocean separating her and Yugi towards her friend.
"It's Dai…" Serenity whispered, her eyes widening in awe at her sister. The clock continued to count down, second by second, each one feeling agonisingly long as Daisuke reached for the key inside Yugi's box.
"Got it!" She shouted just as the countdown hit zero, a thunderous explosion happened above the anchor causing it to plummet into the ocean.
"That anchors going to drag both of them underwater!" Tea shouted.
"Oh crap!" Daisuke screamed being dragged into the water alongside Yugi.
"Daisuke, Yugi!" Tea shouted worried for both her friends.
Under the water, Daisuke looked around for a second before swimming towards Yugi. "I've got ya pal, no way am I letting you die." She thought, using the key in her hand she unlocked the shackle around Yugi's ankle and smiled, watching as her friend floated back up to the surface. "You're the best friend anyone could ask for."
Yugi surfaced and took a gasping breath. "Hold on!" Tristan shouted, jumping into the water and swimming over to his friend and dragging him back to the others.
"Where's Daisuke?" Mai asked.
"Still under the water, she didn't take her key!" Mokuba shouted.
"Give it to me, I'll dive down and get her." Tristan said, Mokuba nodded and ran over to the box holding Daisuke's key only to stop and gasp when he saw his older brother who had thrown off his white coat and duel disk jumping into the water.
"Kaiba's got her key!" Joey shouted in disbelief. "What the heck is going on!?"
Meanwhile with Daisuke, she tried using the key in her hand and it would not fit. "Damn, this key won't work, I need the other key." She thought, holding her hand to her mouth as a few stray bubbles escaped. "And I don't have much time." She thought before looking above her. "Who is that…did Yugi come back for me?" She wondered, her eyes widening when she saw who it was as they got closer. "Seto!" she thought.
Kaiba swam towards her and quickly undid her shackle with the key in his hand, neither noticing faint outlines of the Red Eyes Black Dragon and the Blue Eyes White Dragon circling the two as Kaiba held Daisuke's hand and swam back up to the surface with her.
"There they are!" Kari shouted in relief, seeing her friend surface with Kaiba holding her close as he swam to the others.
"Dai!" Joey cheered helping her sister out of the water as she looked up and saw Serenity.
"Serenity…" she whispered softly. "You…you can see?" she asked seeing her sister's bandages were gone.
"Hey Dai, it's so good to see you again." She whispered and Daisuke's smile widened as she pulled both her siblings into a tight hug making the others all begin tearing up, except Kaiba of course he would never cry.
"Hey Kaiba." He turned his head to see Daisuke walk up to him after finishing hugging her siblings. "Thanks for saving me."
"Don't mention it, I mean it." He told her stoically and she smiled before hugging him tightly and his cheeks began turning bright red.
"Well thank you anyway." She said softly and he nodded before she let him go.
"See you in the Battle City Finals, make sure none of you are late." He told them before walking off with Mokuba.
"Aw man the finals, forgot about those." Daisuke said, scratching her head with a smile.
"I'm just glad we're all okay and back together." Tea said.
"Definitely." Yugi said, holding the Millennium Puzzle in his hands before putting it back around his neck.
"Let's get going then." Daisuke said. "And Joey we need to have a talk about you cursing earlier." She said, hands on her hips as her brother gulped.
"Uh what're you talking about I said bathtub," he replied only to yelp as both his sisters gripped his ears hard.
"Oh really, because I heard different." Serenity told him with a frown, the young boy yelping and trying to get free as the others watched on with sweatdrops.
"Thank goodness I'm a single child." Willis said and Tristan, Yugi and Duke nodded while Kari giggled.
"You're missing out on the fun." She told them skipping ahead after the Wheeler siblings and the others following.
