Yami Bakura vs Yami Yugi Part 1

I don't own Digimon or Yu-Gi-Oh

Kaiba's blimp continued to fly through the skies above the city below at a leisurely pace while the finalists along with the other guests had all gathered in the main hall awaiting the announcement to come on which finalist would be facing who. "I have to admit the blimp is a nice touch and Kaiba spared no expense." Mai said as she spoke with Yami, the two standing between the two large tables laden with fancy food while gentle classical music played over the speakers in the room.

"Indeed, though I bet you're more interested in beginning to duel rather than snacking on fancy food, correct?" Yami asked the blonde with a small smile and she nodded. "Then I wish you the best in the finals."

"Who needs luck?" she asked with a chuckle before both looked over seeing their friends chowing down on the fancy food.

"Can you lot not pig out, seriously I'm losing my appetite around you." Daisuke grumbled, holding a plate of food while her brother, Veemon, White Veemon, Gatomon, Lopmon and Terriermon scoffed down the food at the tables like they were starving.

"Well, they do say Digimon eat a lot of food to keep their energy levels up." Willis reminded her. "Ya think Joey's part Digimon?" he joked.

"I sure as heck hope not." Daisuke replied with a flat expression, she then handed the plate to Willis. "Here I think I'll eat later."

She went to walk past Willis only for the blonde to stop her. "No way kitten, you need to eat. No use dueling while hungry." He said with a charming smile. "Want me to feed you?" he cooed holding up a spoonful of rice and she flushed before glaring.

"Don't start pretty boy." She grabbed the plate and spoon and stomped off angrily scoffing down her food while grumbling about stupid blonde pretty boys, Kari giggled watching her walk off while Willis had a cheerful grin neither noticing Kaiba and Mokuba had watched the little interaction and Mokuba was giggling softly while Kaiba huffed and looked away, whether he was jealous or just annoyed no one knew.

As Daisuke walked away from her friends, she stopped on catching a glimpse of the hooded figure leaning against the far wall and the man opened his eyes and both glared at one another in silence. "I'm going to make that mind controlling jerk pay when I duel him, I just hope it's soon." She thought walking off, not watching where she was going, she suddenly bumped into Bakura from behind making the boy jump. "Oh sorry." She apologised with a smile.

"It's quite alright. Everyone seems to be on edge tonight." Bakura said.

"Yeah, pre final jitters among other things." Daisuke replied, glancing around the room. "Say, how did you get here so quickly?" she then asked.

"Well, I won all six Locator Cards in a single duel." He explained shocking her.

"No way, how did you pull that off?" she asked.

"I dueled Bonz and his fellow goons in the cemetery and with help from a few ghosts of my own I made short work of them." He said calmly.

"And they just gave you their cards when you won?" Daisuke asked.

"I didn't give them much choice, it was my right to claim their Locator cards." he answered with an eerie smile that made a shiver crawl down her spine as her birthmark heated up in a flash making her hiss softly. "Something wrong?" he then asked upon noticing her expression.

"Uh just the shrimp, I need to go to the bathroom." She said quickly walking away.

As she did, she failed to notice Bakura's expression shift as he smirked darkly at her. "Run while you can princess, it won't be long until you and I rule this world." He thought.

Daisuke shuddered as she walked away from Bakura and rubbed her birthmark gingerly before she almost bumped into Kaiba who looked down at her with concern. "You alright?" he whispered.

"Hm…oh yeah I am." She mumbled, glancing over at Bakura once more before looking up at him. "So, um when are we going to find out how the finals will work?" she asked him softly.

Kaiba tapped the KC logo on his collar and it beeped. "Let's get this show on the road." He said into it.

"Apologies sir, but only seven of the eight finalists are in the room. Shall I call up the eighth finalist?" one of his men replied.

"Do it." Kaiba said before snapping his fingers at Roland who stood on a small platform against the wall. "Let's get this show on the road."

Roland nodded and cleared his throat. "Finalists and guests, may I have your attention please." He called. Everyone turned their attention to him before seeing a machine rising out of the platform he stood on.

"Whoa, what's that thing?" Joey asked with wide eyes, the machine soon was fully revealed, and everyone saw it looked like a bingo machine with a large glass ball with a replica of the Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon below it with the dragon's centre head inside the glass ball while the other two heads were looking down at two buckets below them.

"Now the first two duelists for round number one will be chosen by lottery. To guarantee fairness each pair of opponents will be selected completely at random. You have all been assigned a number between 1 and 8, the selector will now choose the first two numbers. The second lot of numbers will not be drawn until a winner has been declared for the first duel, thus you will not know your opponent's identity until just before you duel." Roland explained.

"I'm fighting the urge to call bingo." Tristan muttered, glancing at Duke.

"Go ahead I'll laugh." Duke told him.

"I trust everyone remembers his or her number." Roland then said looking at the seven finalists in the room. "Now let the selection process begin. Random select." He said and the machine launched the eight balls into the glass sphere and began spinning them around.

Meanwhile as this was happening, the second of Kaiba's men walked to the eighth finalist's room and pressed the buzzer on the door. "Come in." She said calmly, the door slid open and the man stood in the doorway.

"Pardon me for intruding ma'am, but Mr Kaiba requests your presence right away."

"For the selection of the first pair of duelists who will compete in the finals?" She asked and the man nodded. "I can safely assure you that the time has not come for me to duel." She said cryptically, confusing the man who shrugged before leaving.

Back in the main hall the first ball fell into the dragon's head in the glass ball and fell out the left dragon head landing in the bucket. "Duelist number 6: Bakura." Roland said.

"I'm dueling first?" Bakura asked before he began sheepishly chuckling while scratching his head.

"You sure you're alright Bakura, you should be in the hospital resting." Tea told him.

"I'm quite alright, it's just being selected to duel first caught me by surprise is all." He told her with a rather unconvincing smile.

"Something smells fishy here, and I don't mean the baked salmon. He was in bad shape when I saw him last, no way he healed this quickly." Daisuke thought, standing slightly closer to Kaiba with her arms crossed as the second ball landed in the dragon's head and fell out of the right dragon head into the bucket.

"Duelist number 3: Yugi Muto." Roland said.

"I'm dueling Yugi, this should be fun." Bakura said with a smile and chuckle while everyone looked at him with concern or suspicion.

"I don't trust him." Yami thought.

"The duels shall follow Battle City rules, the loser shall forfeit their rarest card to the winner as well be expelled from the finals while the winner moves on to round two. Duelists 3 and 6 follow me to the dueling arena, the rest of you are welcome to observe." Roland told everyone.

"Awesome, I'm there." Joey said with a grin.

"Take the central elevator to the upper stratos arena." Roland told everyone before walking off with Yami and Bakura following.

"When the Pharaoh loses, he'll hand over his Egyptian God Card to the one who everyone thinks is Bakura, soon after it will be mine." Marik thought.

"Victory will bring me one step closer to possessing all seven Millennium items." Bakura thought, glancing at Yami with a smirk as both boarded the elevator with Roland.

"I know that's not Bakura, it's the spirit of the Millennium Ring and I know he's still after the Seven Millennium Items, this duel will be tougher than it looks." Yami thought as the elevator went up towards the duel arena.

Soon the elevator reached the top of the blimp just as the dueling arena rose out of the top of the blimp and began to fold outwards into position with strong clamps keeping it secured to the blimp. "I welcome you to the Stratos dueling arena." Roland told both duelists as Bakura walked past him onto the arena.

"I must win this; the fate of the world is depending on it." Yami thought before he walked onto the duel arena as well as the others arrived and stood on one side of the duel arena looking up at both duelists.

"Whoa, this looks awesome." Joey said looking around in awe.

"And freezing." Serenity said, rubbing her arms as she shivered from the cold air.

"And look here comes the master of ceremonies himself." Mai drawled sarcastically as Kaiba, Mokuba and White Veemon walked around to the other side of the arena, joined by Daisuke and Veemon.

"Alright I'll make this speech short so we can get on with the duel. Kaiba Craft 3 is currently flying at 4000 feet, the cold air and strong winds will test your stamina and endurance, if you can't handle it you don't belong here." Kaiba told Yami and Bakura.

"Awesome, I dig this kind of twist." Tristan said.

"Says the guy not dueling at all." Joey muttered making Serenity giggle gently.

"Are you prepared to lose it all?" Bakura asked Yami with a quiet chuckle and small smirk.

"I won't lose. Before we begin why don't you tell us who you really are and stop this charade?" Yami replied, Bakura continued to chuckle as the Millennium Ring appeared around his neck. "It is you, the spirit of the Millennium Ring."

"Oh man not good." Joey said with a worried expression grabbing Serenity's hand and pulling her over to the other side to stand beside Daisuke and Veemon with Willis, Kari and their Digimon following them and standing close to their friends.

"It can't be, I saw Tristan throw that thing into the deepest part of the woods at Duelist Kingdom." Kaiba said with a frown, remembering the time he and Tristan encountered the possessed Bakura while searching Pegasus' castle during his duel with Yugi. "I don't understand. How did he get it back?"

"Neither do I, but I've got a feeling it's got something to do with him wanting to steal the Millennium Items." Daisuke said with a frown, pushing her brother and sister behind her and Kaiba while glaring up at Bakura who chuckled darkly while Tea and the others tried to explain everything to Marik who was still pretending to be someone else.

"Well then, now the introductions are out of the way shall we begin?" Bakura asked Yami.

"First tell me why you've entered the Battle City Finals, does this have to do with the Millennium Items?" Yami questioned.

"Perhaps, or perhaps I desire something far more." He said, eyes glancing down at Daisuke for a moment who stepped back in disgust and worry at his sadistic smirk and hungry gaze.

"What're you talking about?" Yami questioned.

"You ask far too many questions. There is so much you do not understand, so many secrets being kept from you. For instance, how do you know I am not working alone, or that someone you think is a friend is instead your greatest enemy." Bakura said.

"I don't believe you, lies are part of your game but they won't help you in this duel." Yami told him.

"Listen to me you fool; you're giving him too much information!" Marik's voice echoed in Bakura's mind. "If you want the Millennium Items, you'll do what I say, unless you want me to take control of your mind and duel him myself."

"If you could defeat him on your own, you'd have done it by now." Bakura replied, blocking out Marik from his mind and turning his attention back to Yami.

"And now the first duel of the Battle City Finals shall begin, it's time to duel." Roland said.

Both duelists life-points rose to 4000 each as they activated their duel disks. "Come on Yami, kick his butt!" Joey cheered loudly.

"Be careful." Daisuke thought looking at her friend who was looking down at her for a moment before he nodded at her.

Both duelists drew their first five cards and Bakura smirked. "I can assure you that the first duel of the finals shall also be your last." He told Yami, drawing a card as his turn began. "I'll begin with this, The Portrait's Secret in Attack mode." He said, he set the card on his duel disk and a portrait appeared floating in front of him before a ghoulish face and set of hands burst out of the canvas and the monster shrieked loudly. "That'll do for now."

"He played a really weak monster." Yami thought seeing the monster had only 1200 Attack points and 1500 Defence points. "That's not a smart move at all."

"Dismantle that possessed picture frame." Joey told Yami.

"Is that really all you got?" Yami asked with an unimpressed look on his face. "Now I summon Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts!" he told Bakura, quickly summoning his monster to the field as it roared loudly. "Attack his monster now!" he commanded, Gazelle nodded and did just that slashing Bakura's monster twice with its sharp claws and it was destroyed with the ghoul inside the portrait giving off one final shriek and Bakura's life-points fell to 3700. "And to end my turn I'll play one card face down. Why don't you try again?" Yami asked Bakura as a card appeared behind Gazelle on the field face down.

"Fine," Bakura growled. He drew his next card and summoned it. "The Gross Ghost of Fled Dreams in Attack mode." He said as his second monster appeared on the field. A floating bed appeared with a recently deceased woman resting in it before a ghostly apparition emerged from the woman's mouth with long pinkish white hair and wielding a sword and shield and it moaned creepily.

"Gah, that's foul!" Veemon yelped, jumping behind Daisuke in fright as the new ghostly monster gloated on the field.

"That monster is also a weak one. It only has 1300 Attack points, playing it in Defence mode would have been safer, it has 1800 Defence points, higher than Gazelle's Attack points of 1500." Daisuke muttered; arms crossed as she tried to understand Bakura's strategy.

"Attack my monster if you dare." Bakura taunted Yami.

"Your monster is no match for my Gazelle, and with no trap or magic cards to defend yourself, you can't stop my attack." Yami replied, drawing another card.

"Come on, take my bait." Bakura thought while waiting for Yami to attack him again.

"I summon Gamma the Magnet Warrior in Attack mode." Yami said summoning his monster to the field which appeared in a burst of light. "Attack his monster now!" he shouted, and Gamma rushed forwards and punched its fist right through Bakura's monster destroying it easily. "And now you have no monsters to defend yourself, I'll attack you directly with Gazelle!" his second monster roared as it lunged at Bakura slashing him with its claws and the white-haired male stumbled back, gritting his teeth in pain while his life-points fell to 2000.

"What's he doing, he's not even fighting back." Serenity said softly. "Is something wrong?"

"No…I think Bakura's up to something. He's baiting Yami and wanting him to destroy his monsters," Daisuke answered with a frown. "Either that or he's just insane and isn't thinking straight." She then added.

"Maybe this duel will be over with before ya know it." Joey said, holding both his sister's hands as Bakura chuckled.

"Perhaps I made things too easy for you." Bakura said, drawing his next card and a small smirk appeared on his face. "But not anymore."

"That's what you think, let's see what you've got." Yami said.

"As you wish." Bakura said, grabbing another card from his hand and playing it. "I summon the Headless Knight in Attack mode."

Everyone waited for the monster to appear as a blood red mist slowly appeared at the base of the arena. "I'm afraid I don't see it." Yami said.

"Maybe it's because he's a spirit, only appearing when the time is right to strike." Bakura replied with a chuckle. Slowly everyone heard metal boots walking on the arena before slowly, Bakura's monster began to phase into view, a walking suit of armour with a blood red cape, shield, and sword but no head yet it let out a ghostly chuckle.

"Your monster may be stronger than your last two monsters but it's still weaker than mine." Yami told him noticing the Headless Knight's Attack points were 1450 and its Defence points were 1700.

"Then why don't you attack it?" Bakura questioned with a smirk.

"Bakura's plan may succeed, but Yami doesn't have a choice." Daisuke thought.

"Take this." Yami said, drawing a card from his deck before pointing at Bakura's monster. "Gamma the Magnet Warrior attack!" he shouted, Gamma flew towards the Headless Knight and phased behind it and the Headless Knight let out a groan as its metal body was suddenly warped and twisted by Gamma's magnetic aura. "And now Gazelle attack his life-points directly!" Yami shouted.

Gazelle let out a roar as it charged Bakura and struck him and he grunted in pain and his life-points fell to 450. Rather than grimacing in despair, he began chuckling softly.

"Something's seriously wrong with this duel." Tea said.

"Yeah, it's like Yugi's facing off against the world's worst duelist." Willis said with a frown.

"Worst duelist or not, Yugi's going to win this in his next turn." Kari said. Bakura continued to chuckle before it turned into full blown cackling, the Millennium Ring around his neck glowing brightly as his eyes also shone with evil intent.

"It's time, you've done exactly what I've wanted you to do. Now your destruction begins, it's over." He told Yami, drawing his next card as the wind picked up around both duelists.

"Over for him maybe, Yami's got this guy set up like a balloon on a dart board." Joey said with a frown.

"Maybe he's bluffing, he has to be." White Veemon told the young boy while Kaiba and Daisuke watched the duel with interest.

"I hold a card in my hand with dark powers beyond your wildest imagination. But first, I needed a bit of assistance before I could summon it." He told Yami. "So, thank you for helping me destroy you." He continued. "Three of my monsters needed to be destroyed before I could summon my dark destructor. I now banish the three destroyed monsters in my Graveyard to summon Dark Necrofear." He continued, summoning the monster and a red spectre appeared on the field and began floating around the arena before it swooped down and circled Daisuke and her siblings for a moment making their blood run cold as it did so. "Prepare to encounter horrors unimaginable."

The spectre floated in front of Bakura before slowing forming into the monster, a blue skinned woman wearing dark purple boots with spikes, a long-sleeved gauntlet on its left arm and a metal chest plate with a metal pauldron on its other arm and everyone saw the monster cradling a demonic looking baby doll and everyone saw its Attack points were 2200 and Defence points were 2800.

"I knew you were up to something." Yami said with a glare as the baby doll let out an eerie sounding wail.

"It doesn't matter, you still fell into my trap and now you're about to pay the ultimate price." Bakura told him.

"That monster is creeping me out." Tristan said.

"If he was willing to lose all those life-points to bring it out, then it must be a powerful card." Duke added.

"Dark Necrofear is one of the most destructive cards in my deck. You'll never stop it." Bakura told Yami.

"I know a card in his deck that can. His Egyptian God Card, it all depends on whether or not he has the courage to play it." Kaiba said.

"Stare into the face of defeat. Not only is my Dark Necrofear stronger than both your monsters, but it also has secret dark magics ready to be unleashed to destroy you." Bakura told Yami.

"Your monster may be powerful, but it's not unbeatable." Yami replied.

"This is bad, Bakura knew what he was doing this whole time." Daisuke said softly. "He was willing to risk losing the entire duel just to summon it."

"And now he has your friend right where he wants him." Kaiba said softly, making her look at him. "But don't worry, I'm sure Yami will get out of this sooner or later."

"I'm not ready to attack just yet, but I will lay these two cards face down and end my turn." Bakura said with a smirk, setting two cards into his duel disk and both cards appeared face down on the field behind his Dark Necrofear.

"Why didn't he attack? His monster is strong enough to destroy either of my monsters. Is he worried about my face down card, or is it something else?" Yami thought, glancing to his face down card.

"Make your move!" Bakura shouted over to him.

"When I'm ready." Yami replied with a glare, he drew his next card and smirked. "You were foolish to not attack one of my monsters when you had the chance, now it'll cost you the duel as I sacrifice Gazelle to summon Dark Magician Girl!" he said, and Gazelle glowed as a pillar of light surrounded him and he vanished before being replaced by Dark Magician Girl who smiled slightly upon appearing on the field before she got serious.

"Aw yeah!" Daisuke cheered happily on seeing her former monster appear and the spellcaster nodded to her with a smile.

Bakura meanwhile smirked. "You fool, I'm afraid your little fairy is too weak to destroy my monster." He spoke.

"That may be so, but it seems you've forgotten about my face down card, it seems you're the fool." Yami countered. "Reveal face down card, my Magic Formula magic card."

"No!" Bakura shouted with wide eyes as the magical tome appeared on the field and Dark Magician Girl began reading through it quickly.

"With this magic card, Dark Magician Girl becomes 500 Attack points stronger, and now she's strong enough to destroy your Dark Necrofear. Attack now!" Yami commanded and the magician nodded flying up into the air. "Dark Burning Attack!" Dark Magician Girl's Attack points climbed to 2500 before she then held her wand out and launched a blast of magic down at Dark Necrofear destroying it in a burst of magical fire, the monster's baby doll letting out a final wail before it was melted away.

"Alright, you the man!" Joey cheered as the others also smiled at what had just happened.

"Thanks, once again you've done exactly what I've wanted." Bakura told Yami with a cold smirk as his life-points dropped to 150. "Don't you realise I've manipulated every move you've made so far, including destroying Dark Necrofear, so I can play this." He held a card up before placing it into the field spell slot on his duel disk and he began laughing while a dark shroud of clouds began slowly creeping over the entire arena.

"What's going on?" Yami whispered.

"Watch as the entire playing field is engulfed in the dark magic known as Dark Sanctuary." Bakura said, a dark demonic looking castle appeared in the distance behind him while the clouds finished engulfing the arena, and dozens of eyes began opening, peering down at everyone along with several mouths with sharp teeth.

"I don't like this." Serenity whimpered, jumping into Daisuke's arms as she held her sister and rubbed her back gently while Joey hugged both his sister's legs in fright.

"Look around you, there is no escape from the magic of Dark Sanctuary. Well done, everything had to go exactly right for this to work and you played your part perfectly." Bakura told Yami. "And now…now you will soon witness the horrors you've helped me to unleash." He promised.
