Kil'jaeden

"After a couple hours of examining and debating, we have decided we need to go through this portal."

Vol'jin rubbed his chin and looked at Khadgar who had told them of their new plan. "Is it safe? How do we know we won't be walkin' inta a trap?"

"We don't." Rhonin told him. "But we can deal a vital blow to the Burning Legion on Azeroth if we deal with Kil'jaeden here and now."

"Looks like we don't have much of a choice." Victoria said, looking over to the Warchief. "You know I will do what you think is best, Warchief."

"Den we best get ready for da attack." Vol'jin said, walking towards Rokhan who was in command of his Darkspear army.

Victoria returned to her parents, Thal'ena and her Ranger-General Cyndia, informing them of the plan to push through the portal and deal with Kil'jaeden in whatever lair he was hiding in. "It's the only option we have if we want to push the Burning Legion off our planet." She informed them, looking over to Cyndia and Thal'ena who both looked unsure of the overall plan. "It's the only plan." She told them again.

"I'm just not looking forward to going through a portal and possibly dying within seconds." Thal'ena told them, but looking at her Queen as she spoke. "We came this far and, by the sounds of it, pushed the Deceiver off the planet because we were pushing back the Legion."

Victoria looked over to parents who were taking a quick nap before whatever it was they were going to do. "All I can say is, this is our last enemy for a while. We kill him and we can return home to Stormwind and rest until we are needed."

"The Burning Legion will be dealt with?" Cyndia asked, hopeful what she was hearing was true.

Victoria nodded her head slowly. "As far as I know, yes. But with how things have been going recently, I wouldn't be surprised if killing Kil'jaeden will open a can of worms that will put us into a bigger fight."

Thal'ena sighed. "Now I know that's what will happen." She looked at Athrodar and Sylvanas who were leaning on each other as they slept, smiling at the sight and how peaceful it looked, especially with Tanadia resting on the other side of Athrodar with Liadrin. "But if it keeps them all safe, I suppose I am all for pushing the final big bad off of our planet."

Victoria frowned and tilted her head at the Royal Magister. "Why if it keeps them all safe? Why not if it keeps me safe?"

Thal'ena laughed a little and rubbed the back of her neck. "Because, like all those who served under your parents in undeath, I owe them my life. I don't want them to die and I want them to be safe."

Victoria began to smile at her honesty, looking over to her parents and then over to her sister. "I suppose that's a good enough reason as any. I have my own reason to keep them alive outside of them being family."

"Because your mother is carrying your fifth sibling?" Thal'ena asked, already knowing the answer.

"Exactly that, yes." Victoria made her way over to her parents and crouching down in front of her mother, placing a hand on her knee. "Hey, you need to wake up now." She whispered, smiling at Sylvanas when she slowly opened her eyes. "We are going through that portal after all, so I need you all to get ready to move out."

Sylvanas stretched her arms above her head and looked over to Athrodar with a smile on her face. "This brings me back to the times we were on Pandaria, or moving south from Undercity to Stormwind. Both of us sleeping out in the open, leaning on each other and just being close as we wait for the time to attack."

Victoria thought back to one of those times her parents slept beside each other out in the open when they were at war with the Alliance. "I remember sleeping in the middle of you both out in the forests of Loch Modan. We had a tent, sure, but you both wanted to watch the stars one night and I wanted to join you."

Sylvanas smiled a little brighter when she remembered that day, one of the first days, or nights, Victoria spent with them both as their daughter. "He never told you, but that was one of his favourite nights. He got to be alone with me and his newly appointed daughter."

Victoria looked over to Athrodar who was still resting beside Sylvanas. "No, he never did tell me that. He likes to keep those feelings to himself, or he tells you."

Sylvanas looked down at Athrodar's hand she remembered she was holding as they both slept, squeezing it lightly. "He keeps those feelings hidden unless he is alone with me. Call it one of his cons, bad traits or whatever, but I think it's an advantage. It's something only I get to experience unless he is feeling generous with his feelings."

"Then I suppose you're lucky." Victoria said, looking down at her parents hands. "To have something so rare as to have dad sharing his intimate memories with only you, I wish I could have that. Either with him, you or someone else. I feel lonely sometimes when I'm in Stormwind and my entire family, minus Tanadia, is back home."

"You know you can always come home to us." Sylvanas told her. "Stormwind isn't your only home, your real home is always open for our eldest child. If ever you feel alone, or homesick, you just come to us, you don't even have to tell us beforehand."

"Mom..." Victoria muttered, trying to stop herself from tearing up but failing as her usual facade of a strong Queen came crashing down at her mother's words.

Sylvanas hugged her daughter tightly, waking Athrodar up in the meantime but not caring as her baby needed some love. "You will always be my little girl. Even if you become the most powerful Queen on Azeroth, ruling the entire planet under an iron fist. You would still be the little ranger I fell in love with, that had eyes bigger than the sun when she saw her idol."

"I'm still the same little girl." Victoria told her, closing her eyes and burying her head in Sylvanas' stomach as she hugged her mother tightly. "I try to be a strong Queen like you, but I miss being with my family." She sniffed and held onto Sylvanas a little tighter. "This entire war with the Legion has given me the one thing I have missed, which was time with you both. Even if we did have a falling out before Suramar, I have loved this more than ruling because I was with you both again."

Sylvanas kissed the top of her daughter's head, resting her cheek on top of it and looking over to Athrodar who yawned and stretched next to her. "Do you want to come back home with us? And... stay at home with us?"

Victoria shrugged her shoulders, keeping her head buried in her mother's stomach. "I.. I don't know. I enjoy ruling, but I want to be with you both and my siblings. I miss being in your arms when I wake up from a nap, that we are all having, and going back to sleep when I see you're all still sleeping. I miss my siblings and I haven't been in their lives at all... So I am missing out on them growing up too."

"We won't think any less of you if you want to come home and stop being Queen." Sylvanas told her, smiling when she saw Athrodar frown at their conversation, being only half awake and not understanding what they were talking about just yet. "You can even bring Thal'ena with you, if you'd like a place of your own in the village."

Victoria sighed and knew Sylvanas was grinning. "Mom... Stop trying to embarrass me."

"Are you coming back home to live with us?" Athrodar asked, slowly waking up and becoming aware of where they were and what was happening. "Also, what is the plan?"

"We're going through the portal." Victoria told him, sitting up and wiping away the tears still on her face. "And I don't know if I am coming home with you both. I was just talking to mom about the possibility of me coming home, but I still enjoy being Queen of Stormwind, so I have no idea what I want to do. But I enjoy being with you both right here and now and, if she was awake, with my sister too."

"We best make the most of it." Athrodar said, looking over to Khadgar and Illidan who were talking to other commanders and informing them of the plan. "I think we are going through that portal very soon."

Victoria looked over to Cyndia and Thal'ena who were now talking to Khadgar. "I think so too."

"Is he through there?"

Many of the commanders and leaders of Azeroth's army looked over to the Prophet Velen who turned up with his best fighters, mostly Paladins and Priests, but still strong enough to hold their own against the Legion. "Kil'jaeden?" Khadgar asked, watching the prophet nod. "Yes he is. I'm glad you could make it in time."

"Prophet?" Tanadia pushed her way through the Draenei Priests and Paladins, standing in front of the old priest. "You made it."

Velen smiled down at the young priestess. "Of course I did, little one. I have some unfinished business with Kil'jaeden that can't wait any longer." He looked over to Athrodar and Sylvanas who were talking to themselves whilst they wait for the final push. "How is your father?"

Tanadia looked over to Athrodar and smiled to herself. "He is, like Sylvanas, just happy they are back together. They don't like being apart and I think it shows when they are in a fight, they are much more... Conservative?" She tilted her head a little and looked over to Victoria who was talking to her Ranger-General and Royal Magister. "My sister said they fight so well together that nothing can touch them, but when they're alone, they stay back and stick to using their bows."

"I have heard about their presence on the field of battle. When they took Stormwind, I heard nothing had touched them. Same for when they marched south to take Ironforge from Undercity, they were untouchable."

Tanadia smiled a little wider and continued to watch Athrodar and Sylvanas talk, smile and laugh with each other. But what made her heart sing was when she saw Athrodar place a hand on Sylvanas' stomach after crouching down to level his height with her stomach. "He's excited too. Since Sylvanas is pregnant again, they are both looking forward to finishing this siege and going home for good, unless something else comes up."

The Prophet looked down at Tanadia who had that look of innocence he had seen in her from time to time during her stay at the Netherlight Temple. "Do you think you will be ready to come back to the temple with me once we deal with Kil'jaeden?"

"I think so." Tanadia said, looking up at the old Draenei. "You and Saa'ra were right, I feel calmer now that I know Papa is safe."

"Good, I hope you do come back to the temple soon." Velen looked back to the commander of his Paladins and nodded at them. "Go to your father now, we are about to go through this portal and deal with the Deceiver."

Athrodar stood up after planting a kiss on Sylvanas' stomach and whispering to the baby that had yet to make a bump, almost being knocked over by Tanadia who hugged him tightly and holding her close to his chest. "Hey, are you okay?" He asked, planting a kiss on the top of her head when she nodded against his chest. "Are we moving out?"

"Yeah." Tanadia whispered, pulling back and being hugged by Sylvanas the second she let go of her father. "I'll stay with you two, to stay safe with my family."

Sylvanas smiled when Tanadia hugged her just as tightly as she did her father. "We'll keep you safe, honey. Stay with your father and I when we go through that portal, I promise I will make sure you aren't injured at all."

Liadrin cleared her throat when she saw Tanadia run over to her father, overhearing what Sylvanas was saying. "I will keep her safe too. She's my apprentice after all and I made a promise to Thal to keep her safe."

"No... That was me." Athrodar told her, making the paladin roll her eyes.

"Whatever, if I had the chance, I would have too." Liadrin took hold of Tanadia's hand and slowly pulled her away from Sylvanas. "I'll keep you safe too, Tana."

The priestess smiled. "I know, Li Li."

Kil'jaeden cackled menacingly when he heard the first group of fighters walk through the portal. "You were fools to follow me here!"

Velen was a part of that first group, glaring up at Kil'jaeden who stood in the distance, at the helm of this ship they had all landed on. "You hunted your own people. chasing us across the stars. Never again!"

Kil'jaeden pointed towards Velen as more and more fighters walked through the portals. "It was you who lacked vision! Who refused to see the truth of the Legion's inevitable victory!"

"You lost faith in the light!" Velen yelled, having his Draenei attack the first group of demons that engaged them. "Together, we could have resisted Sargeras and saved our world!"

Kil'jaeden fully laughed this time, casting a green Fel fire ball in one of his clawed hands. "Did the light save your son?" He began to grin, showing his razor sharp teeth at the prophet. "Was it faith that shone in Rakeesh's eyes as they closed for the final time? Or was it hatred for the father who abandoned him?" Anger quickly boiled up in the normally calm Draenei, glaring at the Deceiver who was trying and succeeding in getting a rise out of him, roaring at the Eredar leader. "And now your impotent fury has drawn your allies to their doom. Watch as my infinite army slaughters them all!"

"No!" Velen shook his head and tried to calm himself. "You will not divide us... Deceiver." He looked over to Athrodar and Sylvanas, Vol'jin and Baine. Even Jaina and Illidan who were fighting alongside Khadgar, Moira and Eitrigg. "We have come together as a planet over the last decade, we have been working together after our final war. "I will fight by their side, and they by mine. Together, we will end your crusade!"

Kil'jaeden just chuckled and waved away his comment. "Best of luck, Prophet."

Sylvanas turned to her husband who was waiting for Victoria to walk through the portal. "Hey... I need to tell you something I should have told you the second you came back to me."

Athrodar looked over to her and frowned. "What is it?" When she didn't reply immediately, looking away from him instead, he knew it was bad. "What is it...?"

"Luna and Elaria didn't make it." Sylvanas told him, instantly noticing the pain behind his eyes. "They died under the debris, they were with Hroki but died before he woke up." She placed a hand on his arm and watched him flinch a little. "I'm sorry, but I wanted to make sure you were safe first. Now we are going to face the demon that killed your mother, I need you to be angry." She placed a hand on his face gently and felt him lean into her hand. "Just for this fight, please. With your injury, you're not as good as you usually are... Unless you're angry."

Athrodar fought back his sadness and instead channeled his anger towards the Burning Legion at the deaths of his two close friends, his mother, his daughter's General and lover, her nightsaber and finally, the woman that first stole his heart, Thalina. "I will mourn them once Kil'jaeden is dead." He said, looking Sylvanas in the eyes. "We'll go home, I'll lock myself in our bedroom and destroy half our belongings in a fit of rage just to let out the pain I am in at knowing they are dead."

Sylvanas smiled a little and kissed him lightly. "Then I will get you the hammer you can use to destroy our things." She whispered, pressing her head against his. "Our daughter should be coming through this portal any second now, we should be ready to kill some demons."

"Deal." Athrodar said, pulling out his bow and ignoring the stinging feeling in his arm as he nocked an arrow in place. "We'll stick together, get through this and go home, to be with our family... Just keep them away from me the first couple of hours we get home."

Sylvanas chuckled lightly and let loose an arrow from her bow when she saw a demon flying overhead. "Deal."

As the last few groups of fighters came through the portal, the majority of the demons had been dealt with and many of Azeroth's fighters had begun to make their way up to Kil'jaeden who was waiting for them at the helm of the ship, directly in the middle and with a grin on his face. "It is a simple matter to show courage against my minions. Can you face the shadows within your own souls as bravely?"

"The Light shines bright within us all. Even here, Deceiver. Your shadow will not consume us." The Prophet Velen stood at the front of the army that made their way towards the towering, red Eredar. "The Armies of Azeroth will not yield to your corruption."

Kil'jaeden engulfed his hands in a dark purple, conjuring shadow magic in his clawed hands and extending out the wings on his back. "This battle shall be your last!" He roared, throwing two massive balls of shadow towards the awaiting army, forcing the mages and priests to put up barriers to block the spells but only getting one up in time and blasting a good handful of soldiers off the side of the ship. "Who will save you now?" He asked, laughing coldly as the helpless soldiers drifted into the Twisting Nether.

"Let's avoid that." Victoria said, looking over to Thal'ena, her mages and Tanadia who all looked over to her and nodded.

"I will do my best." The young priestess said, holding onto her staff and engulfing her other hand in a golden light. "I have been practicing my shields."

"Good." Victoria said, smiling at her sister. "Get ready to put them up if any spells come towards us, got that?"

"Got it." Tanadia said, firing a holy spell towards some of the demon reinforcements that arrived the moment the spell landed, keeping her eye out for any spells coming their way at the same time.

The fighting went on for ten minutes with Kil'jaeden hardly tiring whilst a good portion of those fighting him had either been killed, wounded or blasted off the ship and into the cold, darkness of the twisting nether.

The Deceiver looked around when he could smell something... Interesting. "I can sense darkness within you." He said, looking directly at Athrodar who was covered in some demon blood, standing beside Sylvanas who had some blood on her as well. "A darkness caused by death and loss... Hello again, Sunblade."

Leotheis commanded his army to stand between the deceiver and Athrodar, protecting his Master's great grandson from the demon. "We will deal with him, Athrodar." Leotheis said, having many of his Spellbreakers stand in the front lines and doing what they do best, countering any spells Kil'jaeden or the other demons with their specialised shields.

Athrodar and Sylvanas met back up with Victoria and Tanadia, the Queen placing a hand on Athrodar's face and inspecting him. "How are you feeling?" She asked, looking back to her mother who was doing the same with Tanadia.

"I should be asking you that." Athrodar said, chuckling lightly.

"I just want to make sure you're okay, dad. You're covered in blood, but I can see it's demon blood so that's a good sign." Victoria watched as Leotheis and his army took on Kil'jaeden personally whilst everyone else dealt with the demon reinforcements. "He has given us a small window for a breather."

Athrodar began to inspect Victoria this time smiling when she struggled against him. "Just hold still." He whispered, brushing a thumb over a cut on her cheek. "I hope this is your only wound."

"It is, dad." Victoria told him, laughing and moving away when he licked his thumb and tried to wipe away some dried blood from her cheek. "Stop!" She cried, giggling and missing this sort of thing. "I'm a Queen, dad. You can't just do that to me."

"Of course I can. It's a dad's duty to embarrass his children in public as much as possible." Athrodar smirked at Victoria who rolled her eyes. "It's working, isn't it?"

"Yes..." Victoria muttered, looking passed Athrodar and towards Kil'jaeden who began to push his way through the army and towards them. "Look out!" She cried, grabbing her father and diving out the way of his clawed hand.

"You cannot resist your own nature!" Kil'jaeden roared, engulfing his hands in a dark purple magic. "Face your destiny!" He yelled before sending out a wave of shadow magic.

Tanadia hugged Sylvanas and cast a shield over the two of them, as she was the closest friendly to her. Thal'ena and her mages done the same, but in a bigger scale as they protected their Queen and Athrodar with their arcane shields.

Illidan took this opportunity to launch an attack of his own, slashing both his warglaives across the back and wings of the Deceiver, forcing out a roar of pain from the Eredar. "Your reign will come to an end shortly." The Demon Hunter said, standing face to face with his old employer. "I should have killed you on Outland."

Kil'jaeden laughed at the Demon Hunter. "You have all made a grave mistake coming here." He waved his hand and began to turn the ship they were all on. "Look upon our wonders, you mortals, and despair! Behold the world that shall be your tomb!"

The Prophet Velen Looked towards the planet they were now quickly moving towards with horror. "Argus! My beloved homeworld... what have they done to you?"

Illidan faced off against Kil'jaeden on his own, dodging and ducking, parrying and slashing the Deceiver's attacks and grinning when he dropped down onto one knee. "You seem to be lacking, Deceiver. Your death will come soon."

"Enough!" Kil'jaeden roared, knocking back those closest to him and flapping his wings, hovering over them all and engulfing his hands in a dark purple once more. "Your doom has come, mortals." He chuckled and began to form a giant ball of shadow magic, enough to break any shield and to kill the majority of the fighters in front of him. "Limitless destruction is at my command!"

Athrodar and many of his rangers pulled out an arrow as everyone else began to find cover, or tried to reinforce their magic shields. They nocked their arrows in place, aimed at the Deceiver and let loose the projectiles into the neck of the Eredar, or as close as they could get to it.

The spell quickly dissipated as Kil'jaeden fell back down to the helm of the command ship, coughing up some blood. "Damn you... Sunblade." He held onto his neck and looked up at Velen who stood over him. "Our fates are now one. Argus will be our Tomb."

Khadgar looked at the planet they were plummeting towards. "At least we would have died fighting."

Illidan shook his head, pulling out a demonic stone and showing the Archmage. "Our war isn't over yet." He eyed the stone. "Not whilst we hold the key to all worlds."

Khadgar watched the stone begin to glow, seconds before Illidan threw it towards the nether, watching it glow brighter before exploding and tearing a rift in the nether a creating what looked like a window to Azeroth. "What is..."

"Khadgar, take us home!" Illidan yelled, watching the Archmage, along with Rhonin and Jaina, begin to cast a group teleporting spell.

Kil'jaeden looked up at Velen who stood over him. "I... was always.. envious of you. Your gift. Your faith. Your vision. I never believed... that Sargeras could be stopped. Perhaps... you will prove me wrong."

Velen closed his eyes and placed his hand on Kil'jaeden's forehead just as the teleportation spell had been complete, hearing Khadgar yell at everyone to get ready and watching the scars on the Deceiver's face begin to glow.

There was a quick flash and an explosion just as everyone was ported back to Azeroth. "Is everyone alright?" Rhonin asked, looking around at the army and helping up a few fighters around him.

Khadgar glared at Illidan and his grin. "What have you done!?"

"Sometimes the hand of fate... Must be forced." Illidan said with a grin, looking up at Argus that loomed over them in the sky.

Sylvanas cupped Athrodar's face in her hands, looking over his face and rubbing some blood off of him. "We did it, my love." She whispered, kissing him lightly. "We can go home now."

"I want to continue this, but we're both covered in blood that's not our own." Athrodar felt his heart begin to tighten when he remembered Elaria and Luna were no longer with them. "I also want to just go home and destroy a few things."

Sylvanas nodded and beckoned over Thal'ena. "Okay then, we will get going." She looked over to Victoria who watched her Royal Magister make their way to them. "I'll talk to our daughter whilst you smash half the house down."

After asking Thal'ena to make a portal to Windrunner Village, watching Athrodar walk through and then making her way to her daughter. "I haven't made my mind up yet." Victoria told her mother.

"That's okay." Sylvanas whispered to her. "You can come home to us whenever you want. Like we said, our home is always open to you."

Victoria smiled and looked over to Tanadia and Liadrin who were tending to the wounded. "I think she will stay with you both for a bit, but then return to the Netherlight Temple to continue her training."

"I know she will." Sylvanas said. "Why else do you think I am keeping her close to your father and I? I want her to stay with us for as long as possible before she leaves."

Victoria laughed and hugged her mother. "Would you like a portal to Stormwind? Collect my sisters and your not so servant, servants?"

"I would love one. Though they aren't my servants, they're now close family friends who look after your siblings when Athrodar and I need time alone... Who we also sleep with when we want company."

Victoria laughed again and shook her head. "I love you, mom."

Sylvanas watched Thal'ena begin to summon another portal, this time to Stormwind. "I love you too, little one. Bring Thal'ena with you next time you visit. I know she will want to see the village, your sisters and maybe convince you to stay for a while."

"Or it's so you can have your way with her, to prove a point that doesn't need proving." Victoria told her, watching her mother look away. "I thought so."

Sylvanas kissed her daughter lightly on the lips. "Come see us again soon, promise?"

Victoria just nodded at her mother, watching the portal close behind her and sighing when Thal'ena took hold of her hand. "Come on, let's inspect the troops." She told the Royal Magister, both of them walking towards the Ranger-General.

Thal'ena remained silent, but she could see conflict in her Queen's body language and knew she had to soon ask her the one question on her mind. As they made their way towards Stormwind's army, Victoria had remained silent whilst she inspected what was left of them and that only made the Royal Magister more worried for her Queen. "You should go home, my Lady." Thal'ena eventually whispered to her.

"Why?" Victoria whispered back, looking one of her Knights up and down, smiling a little when she saw they were unharmed. "I told my mother I would go home when I want to."

"You don't want to go back home do you? Because you know you will never want to leave." Thal'ena made Victoria stop moving and knowing she hit the nail on the head. "I will go with you if you'd like. Perhaps being away from the city and with friends will make me want to stay away too."

"I... I just don't want to give up the city." Victoria muttered, looking back to Thal'ena who just smiled warmly at her. "I want to keep Stormwind in our family and I know my brother and sisters aren't old enough, or would want it for a long time. Tanadia is the only option as my replacement, but I think she wants to be with Athrodar too, in Windrunner Village."

"Then just visit them for a month, the council don't have to know you're there. If after a month, with me by your side of course, you don't want to come back to Stormwind, then tell them you hand the city over to the council... Or to Tanadia if she wants it. I know your mother doesn't want her to be Queen because she's not her daughter, but it's your choice at the end of the day."

Victoria groaned and leaned against Thal'ena. "Why did you have to tell me that? Now I know if I choose Tanadia, Sylvanas will be angry with me."

Thal'ena smiled and hugged her Queen. "I'll back your choice, no matter what it is."

Victoria smiled and melted into the hug, slowly moving her arms around her Royal Magister. "Thank you." She whispered, closing her eyes and trying to live in this moment for as long as possible.
