Here we are at Chapter 131. It's finally time for Kamir'ahk Shiryu's back story, though there will be one slight surprise for you readers in here. I do not own RWBY. They belong to their respective owners. I only own my OCs. Here's chapter 131. Enjoy.

Chapter 131: It's Time

...Several years ago...

Three children are running around a wooden house out in the middle of a forest in Anima. One is a young boy with short black hair and red eyes, the second is another boy with blonde hair and blue eyes, the third is a girl, the youngest, with black hair tied in short twin tails and golden eyes.

"Come on, Voshkie'ahk, you have to catch us!" the young blonde boy laughs.

The girls starts to lose her breath, "Hey, that's no fair. At least slow down, please!" a young Voshkie'ahk complains.

"No chance, you know the rules of tag now!" the boy with the black hair says.

Just then, a woman with long blonde hair walks out onto the front porch, "Kamir'ahk, Khazhak, that's enough bullying your sister. It's time for you all to come in and clean up for lunch now," Jade Ryu calls out.

The two boys slow down to a stop, "Aw!" they moan.

Voshkie'ahk hunches over as she tries to catch her breath, "You guys are no fair... You're always training with Father... You can do this stuff better than I can,"

"Listen to your mother, kids," Azraq comes out beside his wife. "Come in now. And, to make things fair now, Voshkie'ahk gets first dibs at the deserts," he smirks.

"Yay!" Voshkie'ahk cheers.

"Aw, no fair!" the boys complain.

One day, Kamir'ahk and Khazhak are training with Azraq out in the forest. Azraq has his sword holstered, while the boys have theirs out, as they sneak behind some bushes. They look beyond the foliage, eyeing a loan boar, aka dinner. This isn't their first time hunting with their father. They've already gotten pretty used to it, for the most part.

"Now remember, you need to make this quick and clean. You miss this, and we don't eat. That's how nature works. Be quiet, get close, and then pick your moment. If the prey notices you, you fail," Azraq whispers to them.

The boys nod and slowly move through the trees, making slow steps as they get closer to the unsuspecting boar.

"Kamir'ahk, how should we play this... Kamir'ahk?" Khazhak looks back only to find his older brother gone. "Where did he-," Khazhak's focus is off and he ends up stepping on and breaking a branch.

The noise causes the boar to look up and notice Khazhak, "Crap!" Khazhak charges at the boar, which runs away from him.

Khazhak tries to make a few swings at the boar, but the tip of the blade barely misses the boar. However, as they come past a pair of trees, another blade comes out and stabs into the side of the boar, causing it to scream in pain and fall onto its side. Khazhak stops and looks, just in time to see Kamir'ahk pop out from behind the tree.

"Too slow, little brother," Kamir'ahk smirks.

"Slow? We were supposed to get the drop on that thing together by sneaking up close to it and ambushing it," Khazhak retorts.

"Details, details, as long as we got the thing, that's all that matter," Kamir'ahk waves it off.

"Enough!" Azraq comes up and looks at the injured boar, squirming in pain. "Kamir'ahk, you made the blow, now end its pain. There's no reason to leave it to suffer," he crosses his arms. Kamir'ahk stares at the moaning boar for a moment, watching the blood flow from its open wound. "Kamir'ahk," his father eggs him on. Kamir'ahk sighs and deals the killing blow, ending the boar's pain. "Kamir'ahk, Khazhak, what is it I always say?"

"It is the duty of the strong to protect the weak," both brothers say.

"Yes, and there is no strength in letting another suffer needlessly like that. I told you to make it quick and clean. Our family has protected the innocent for generations. That is our duty. We protect them, but we do not harm them or rule over them. Understood?" Azraq says, and both boys nod. "Good, now then, let's clean this up and bring the boar back home before it begins to rot. If that happens, then there's going to be no one to protect US from your mother's wrath," he tries to lighten the mood, but while Khazhak smiles, Kamir'ahk only stares at the dead boar, seeing the blood on its body.

One afternoon, Khazhak and Kamir'ahk are training outside with their swords while their father watches on from the side. Inside the house, Voshkie'ahk is in the living room, practicing her dancing as she twirls around on one foot, her long skirt flowing around her. Jade smiles at her daughter dancing as she's cooking up some sandwiches.

"Voshkie'ahk, why don't you go outside and get everyone inside for something to eat? I think they've practiced enough for one day," Jade asks.

"Okay," Voshkie'ahk finishes her practice session and goes outside. "Father, guys, Mother said it's time to come inside now for something to eat!"

"Aw, but we're not done!" Kamir'ahk complains after pushing Khazhak back.

"Come on now, boys, don't make your mother wait. Remember what happened last time," Azraq says, making Voshkie'ahk and Khazhak cringe.

"I thought you were the man of the house?" Kamir'ahk jokes.

"I am, but your mother's the one in charge of me, so in the end, she rules the house. Most of the time. Khazhak, come help me out for a moment," Azraq starts picking up some practice gear, which Khazhak helps him with.

Kamir'ahk watches them go, but notices that Khazhak left his sword behind, and smirks.

He grabs the blade and turns to Voshkie'ahk, "Hey, Voshkie, wanna try?" he tosses the sword over to Voshkie'ahk.

"Huh? Come on Kamir'ahk, you heard Mother. It's time to go inside," Voshkie'ahk declines.

"Oh come on, Father and Khazhak will still be busy for a few minutes putting the gear away and washing up. That's enough time for one round," Kamir'ahk says, twirling his sword around.

"I already told you, no. Besides, I'm not trying to be a warrior like you guys. I've never practiced before," Voshkie'ahk crosses her arms.

Kamir'ahk loses his smirk, "Pick it up!" he exclaims, actually scaring his sister this time. Voshkie'ahk looks between him and the sword, and slowly picks it up and holds it in front of her. Kamir'ahk smirks again. "Don't worry, this is just practice. I won't hurt ya, little sister," he readies his own blade.

Voshkie'ahk trembles with fear, but she finds herself pinned where she stands, "Please, stay away. Big brother, I don't want to fight you!"

"I told you, this isn't a fight; just sparring," Kamir'ahk gets ready to jump.

"Big brother, NO!" Voshkie'ahk screams as she turns away to try and run.

Just then, Khazhak and Azraq return, just in time to see Voshkie'ahk turn her back on Kamir'ahk, and Kamir'ahk jump to slash his blade down on Voshkie'ahk's back.

"Don't hurt Voshkie'ahk!" Khazhak yells, but it's too late as steel meets flesh.

"Voshkie'ahk!" Khazhak shouts. As Voshkie'ahk lays on the ground, blood leaking from her wound.

The Ryu family stand outside their home, with all but one standing together. It had been a few days after Kamir'ahk hurt Voshkie'ahk. Azraq had been able to subdue his eldest son, while Jade and Khazhak nursed Voshkie'ahk back to health. However, she still had the scars of the incident, both physically and emotionally. Now, Kamir'ahk stands before his family. Voshkie'ahk stands behind Khazhak, too afraid to even look her brother in the eye, while Jade has to have one hand on Khazhak's shoulder to keep him from attacking his own brother. The hatred in his eyes is all too obvious to see.

"Kamir'ahk, you know our family's laws. Never turn your blade upon an innocent. Even worse, you did so to your own sister, your own flesh and blood. What do you have to say for yourself?"

"I didn't mean to hurt her. She turned at the last second. I told her we were just sparring," Kamir'ahk argues.

"Your sister is not a warrior, and that was not 'just' sparring from what I can gather. You know our laws, Kamir'ahk. And you must face your punishment. Kamir'ahk, you are hereby disowned and banished from this family and this land. And you will never be allowed to return here again," Azraq delivers his verdict.

Kamir'ahk is shocked to hear his father's verdict, over something he thought wasn't even that bad. Anger swells up within him, and without thinking, he attacks his own father with his sword as he screams like a madman. However, Azraq reacts faster and with one slash of his blade, super-heated by the fire Dust within it, he slashes off Kamir'ahk's right arm. The wound is seared shut from the super-heated blade, but it doesn't do anything about the pain Kamir'ahk feels as he screams.

"Kamir'ahk... leave. And never come back," Azraq tells his son one last time.

Kamir'ahk grits his teeth in pain as he holds the stump of his right shoulder. He eyes his family, seeing Jade have a look between sadness, horror, and anguish in her eyes, Voshkie'ahk scared as ever, and Khazhak ready to attack the first chance he gets. Kamir'ahk looks away in defeat before taking his blade and walking away from his now former home, heading into the forest beyond.

"Do you think he'll survive. I thought you once said that the punishment for such a crime was death in your family's laws?" Jade asks.

"I did... but I couldn't just kill him. He was my son. But, he never completed his training. The outside world is full of dangers. It will do the rest," Azraq says as he watches Kamir'ahk leave, a hint of sadness in his eyes.

Little did he know how WRONG he was. And it would cost him and his family dearly.

Kamir'ahk would go on trying to survive out in the wilderness on his own, with nothing but the clothes on his back, the backpack his father had given him, his sword, and his one good arm. All he can think about is how his family turned their backs on him, just threw him out after one accident. His anger, his pain... his negativity. He noticed it soon enough... when he heard the growling. Kamir'ahk looks around, seeing a pack of Beowolves circling around him. Kamir'ahk draws his sword.

"Come on then, you mindless dogs! Do something!" Kamir;ahk roars.

The first Beowolf charges at him, but Kamir'ahk sidesteps it while slicing its head off. Luckily, his father didn't cut off his dominant left arm. The second Beowolf tries making a few claw swipes at Kamir'ahk, forcing him to step back each time until he ends up against a tree. The Beowolf pounces on him, but Kamir'ahk ducks and rolls underneath it, causing the Grimm to collide into the tree. Kamir'ahk stabs his blade into the back of the Grimm's skull, but he gets knocked to the ground from the strike of a third Beowolf. Kamir'ahk gets back on his feet, but he feels a stinging sensation on his back and notices a few claw marks on his back. His father never helped him or Khazhak learn to unlock their aura before he was kicked out. The Beowolf runs at him, which he meets in kind, and jumps with a swipe of its claws. Kamir'ahk slides under the strike, and slices the Grimm down the middle with his sword. With the Grimm dead, Kamir'ahk takes a moment to catch his breath, only to get tackled to the ground by an Alpha Beowolf. Kamir'ahk holds the Alpha's jaws back with his sword, but the older Grimm pulls the sword away, grabs him by his left arm, and flings him into a nearby tree. Kamir'ahk can barely get onto one knee when he sees the Alpha stalking towards him.

"This can't be... how it ends. ME, dying in a place like this. It's... It's unfair!" Kamir'ahk mentally laments.

And then it happens, "...Do you want power?" a dark voice speaks from nowhere.

"Huh?" Kamir'ahk glances around, trying to find the source of the voice. "Who said that?"

"I ask again: Do you want power?" the voice asks.

"I... I want it. I want power. The power to kill anything and anyone that gets in my way. The power to do whatever I want. I want power," Kamir'ahk mutters as the Grimm gets closer.

"If you want power, then I shall grant it to you. But, it will not be without cost," the voice says.

"I don't care what the cost is, just give me power!" Kamir'ahk demands.

The voice chuckles, "Hm-hm-hm... Very well," and then Kamir'ahk's left eye glows black...

A few moments later, the dissipating emains of the Alpha are seen while Kamir'ahk stands a few feet away from it, breathing heavily as his left eye returns to normal.

"That... that was... such po-ach!" Kamir'ahk grips his chest and falls onto his knees in pain.

"I told you; power comes at a price," the voice says.

Kamir'ahk looks around, seeing that there are no more Grimm around, so he has a chance to rest and regain his strength.

"This power... This is what I've been seeking," Kamir'ahk mutters.

"This is only a fraction of the power that you may hold, once you are ready for the next step. If you wish to gain more of this power, then you must become stronger," the voice says.

Kamir'ahk smirks a insane-looking smirk, "I'll do it. I'll become so strong that no one will stop me. So, if we're stuck together now, what should I call you?"

The voice chuckles, "Hm-hm-hm-hm... you may call me... Nidhogg,"

...Flashback ends...

Kamir'ahk opens his eyes as he reminisces about his past. He looks out the window of the cockpit of an airship, his blade right between the two Atlas soldiers piloting it. The airship flies up until it reaches Atlas, but Kamir'ahk has them fly over the military compound and straight for the city.

"Good, bring us to the edge where the shield should be," Kamir'ahk orders them, dark energy pouring from his blade for emphasis for the two soldiers. Soon enough, they reach the destination. "Good, that should be far enough, boys. I did enjoy our little flight together,"

"No way you're gonna be able to get inside. You'd have to go through the military compound, but you'll never sneak past there," one soldier says.

Kamir'ahk smirks, "Oh, that's the problem with you Atlesian dogs... No imagination," he then makes a wide swing to cleave both soldiers' heads clean off along with the tops of their seats. After throwing the bodies out of the airship, Kamir'ahk takes the controls. "Now then, how should we bust our way into Atlas?"

"Those shields protect everything above the city's ground limits and below, but... they are not impervious to enough fire power focused on a single point," Nidhogg proposes.

"Well, the military compound is definitely not an option. Too many annoyances will only slow me down, and I've got this sneaking suspicion that Salem is about to make her move. Oh well, like they say: when in doubt, break it. Let's go nuts," Kamir'ahk hits the stick forward.

The airship fires all its weapons at the ground right at the shield as it charges ahead straight at the kingdom's edge. The shots break away a small section of the shield, and then Khazhak breaks through the window and jumps out right as the airship crashes into the shield itself. When the dust settles, Kamir'ahk is hanging by his sword imbedded into the rock side, right next to the large hole he made in the ground within the shield itself.

"Not exactly what I had in mind, but effective nonetheless," Nidhogg notes.

"Like I said, you need to have a good imagination," Kamir'ahk starts climbing through the hole, breaking away the earth as he progresses further inward. After a few more moments, Kamir'ahk's dragon arm breaks through the earth and he manages to climb out, standing on the inside of the shield. "Ironwood's impenetrable defense shield... What a joke," he looks towards the city that now lies before him, and flashes an evil smile. "Now then... just where are you hiding, Khazhak?"

Meanwhile, Khazhak's group are still at the Schnee Manor. Khazhak is in the old dining room his arms crossed as he looks out one of the windows, eyeing the Grimm horde outside.

"You sense it, don't you?" Bahamut asks.

Khazhak sighs, "Yeah. Something... is rising. I just don't know what. Salem wouldn't have brought such massive force here if she didn't intend on using it. She probably could break through the shields with brute force, but it would cost some of her forces. She's saving them for the real battle. Ironwood captured Watts, so he can't screw with the shields like he did with the heating grid down in Mantle. Which means she'll need a new way of breaking through,"

"But, how could she take them down?" Bahamut asks.

Khazhak looks out the window before bringing up and images of the shields on his scroll. He sees that the shields are power by several generators located around the edge of the kingdom limits. It doesn't take him long before his eyes start to widen.

Khazhak looks back out the window, "...Oh no..."

Back with Yang's group, Yang drives the hover-bike with Ren and Jaune riding with her, while Porphyrius rides the hover-board with Lloyd as they follow the path created by the river of Grimm.

"It's heading straight for Mantle. I repeat, a large mass of Grimm is heading straight for Mantle. Please, anyone..." Jaune calls out over the comms.

"You really think anyone's gonna listen, or even hear us for that matter?" Porphyrius asks.

"I don't know, but we have to warn them somehow," Jaune replies.

Just then, they see an Atlas airship fly in and move to land in front of them. Much to their annoyance, it's Winter and the Ace Ops that greet them. Winter and Harriet are the first to jump out of the ship.

"Great, it's the world's greatest lapdogs," Lloyd sarcastically cheers.

Jaune steps up, "Did you hear our message? It's right there. We need to hurry, now,"

Harriet and Winter glance at each other before speaking, "Where is Penny?"

"Are you serious? We don't have time for your games because your egos got beat up. People are in danger-," Porphyrius says.

"People are in danger because you kids are acting selfish!" Harriet retorts.

"We're selfish?! Says one of the people willing to let innocent people die because her boss is afraid of-," Lloyd argues until the ground suddenly shakes.

The shaking can be felt all the way in Mantle as people begin to panic. The shaking goes on for a few more moments and then stops... only for a large geyser of black ooze to explode up and hit the shield. It hits it with enough force to break through, and the ooze hits the rock side beneath the city. From the ooze, several large Centinel Grimm sprout forth and move to attack the shield generators. The Grimm get close and bury beneath the earth under one shield generator. As this happens, everyone within the city watch on their scrolls or monitors, all shocked beyond belief at what they're seeing. The Atlas airships try to stop them, but the Grimm move too quickly before they can kill all of them and burrow beneath another generator. Two of the generators lose their foundation and fall off the side of the kingdom, and the shield itself shuts down completely, leaving the Kingdom of Atlas completely vulnerable. Just then, the giant Whale Grimm flies over the side of the kingdom, outside the city limits, and lands on the outskirts. It opens its mouth as a large pool of black ooze flows out of its jaws. From the ooze, an army of Grimm rises up.

The war for Atlas has officially begun...

And that's the chapter. We finally got to see Kamir'ahk's past, and how he came to become what he is now. Back in the present, Kamir'ahk manages to sneak into Atlas, gunning for Khazhak. Meanwhile, Salem's forces have finally broken through the shield and begun their assault on Atlas. Will Khazhak and his friends save Atlas? Until then, please Read and Review.
