Yami Bakura vs Yami Yugi Part 2
I don't own Digimon or Yu-Gi-Oh
"You fool, thanks to your foolish actions you've helped me unleash the power of Dark Sanctuary, and now the field is covered in a magical mist so terrifying it will keep you in a constant state of fear and eventually destroy." Bakura told Yami with a fiendish smirk.
"It is you who should be afraid, you have no monsters left, and you're down to your last one hundred and fifty life-points." Yami told him.
"That may be so, but now the Ghost of Dark Sanctuary is protecting me which will change my fortune dramatically." Bakura replied with a smirk, unknown to Yami along with the others watching the duel, a ghostly spectre was floating around the arena before approaching Gamma the Magnet Warrior and entering its body.
"Your ghosts don't frighten me, without a single monster to defend your life-points I will win this duel and remove you from the Battle City Finals in one attack."
"You're more foolish than I thought, Dark Sanctuary provides me with all sorts of dark magic powers, but if you're so confident in your victory, go ahead and attack me." Bakura taunted.
"Gamma the Magnet Warrior, attack his life-points directly!" Yami commanded making Bakura smirk. Gamma shot towards Bakura only to stop halfway across the arena and let out a groan as the Ghost of Dark Sanctuary burst out of its back and flew towards Yami.
"Evil Ghost counterattack!" Bakura shouted and his ghost slammed into Yami making him take a step back in surprise.
"What's going on, my attack had no effect, and I was attacked instead." Yami said and Bakura laughed.
"Very observant, Yugi. Your monster is possessed by the Evil Ghost of my Dark Sanctuary." He spoke.
"It's possessed?"
"Yes, and that is how I was able to turn your own monster against you." Bakura answered.
"And have you possessed all of them?" Yami asked, glancing over at Dark Magician Girl who gave him a concerned glance back.
"You'll just have to find out for yourself, that is if you've got the courage to try and attack me again. But the Ghost of Dark Sanctuary is but one of this place's special powers," Bakura continued with a grin. "But you will have to focus on the matter at hand, since you attacked with a monster that was possessed, half of its Attack points come out of your life-points."
Yami grit his teeth as his life-points fell to 3250 while Bakura's smirk widened. "And that's not all, to make sure those life-points don't go to waste, the life-points you lost will be added to my own." He said as his life-points climbed back up to 900.
"That's not good." Joey said in concern. "If Yami keeps attacking with the possessed monster he'll lose more life-points and Bakura will only gain more."
"Don't worry, I'm sure Yami can find a way out of this." Daisuke reassured her brother with a confident smile as she turned her attention back to the duel as Bakura made his move by drawing his next card.
"It is my move. I play Destiny Board, you're finished!" he told Yami as a large Ouija board appeared floating above Bakura with a ghostly hand holding a pointer hovered above the board.
"And what does that do?" Yami questioned.
"To put it simply, Destiny Board allows me to communicate with lost souls from the Shadow Realm, spelling out a message using the letters on this board. They shall spell out a message for you, and now the time has come to unveil the first letter of the message." Bakura said, the ghostly hand moving the pointer around the board before it pointed to the letter F.
"F, what kind of message will the Destiny Board spell out?" Yami questioned watching as a ghostly fire appeared above the Destiny Board before the flames shifted into the letter F.
"Each turn the Destiny Board will spell out a single letter, and then once five turns have passed and all five letters are revealed this duel will end and you'll lose absolutely everything." Bakura said.
"Your Destiny Board doesn't scare me; I'll win this duel well before your message is spelled out in four more turns." Yami told Bakura.
"This looks bad." Mokuba said to Kaiba.
"Yes, and if Yami wants to win this duel before that message is spelled out, he'll need to summon his Egyptian God Card." His brother replied.
"Yugi, it's over for you. With the Ghost of the Dark Sanctuary protecting me and Destiny Board on the field, you will be unable to win. And to make things even harder for you, I play the Magic Card the Dark Door, now only one of our monsters can attack every turn." Bakura told Yami as he activated the Magic Card and it appeared on the field to his right.
"Your odds of winning have just decreased. And I now summon Earthbound Spirit." He continued as he summoned the monster which appeared on the field by crawling out of the ground. "But he won't be around for long, in order to keep my Dark Sanctuary card in play I have to sacrifice a monster each turn, so begone." He told the new monster which was consumed by the mist surrounding the arena and it crumbled to dust.
"Time for me to end this duel." Yami said as his turn began, and he drew his next card and saw it was Kuriboh. "Let's see, with Dark Door on the field I can only attack with one monster per turn, and my Magnet Warrior's been possessed by Bakura's ghost so I can't attack with that one. My best chance is to attack with Dark Magician Girl and end this duel now."
"What's wrong? You seem to have some trouble in making a move." Bakura called over to him with a twisted smile. "Have you lost your nerve?"
Yami ignored his taunts and made his move. "I summon Kuriboh in Defence mode!" the cute furball appeared between Dark Magician Girl and Gamma the Magnet Warrior and cooed softly.
He then looked to Dark Magician Girl. "Dark Magician Girl attack his life-points directly!" he commanded, and she nodded and flew towards Bakura.
"Evil Ghost counterattack!" Bakura shouted, Dark Magician Girl gasped as the evil ghost flew out of her back and she came to a stop and shuddered as the ghost slammed into Yami making him stumble back again.
"What's going on?" He whispered looking at his monster.
"She was possessed, with each turn I can choose which monster my ghost can possess." Bakura explained. "And you lose even more of your life-points and they are added to mine. It seems my Dark Sanctuary is full of surprises." He said as Yami's life-points fell to 2000 while Bakura's life-points climbed to 2150. "And now that your turn is over, you know what happens next."
"Destiny Board gets another letter." Daisuke gasped as the large ghostly hand moved the pointer around the large board before it stopped on the letter I, more ghostly flames appearing beside the first letter before the flames shifted into the new letter.
"Now it spells Fi." Serenity said.
"Wait a minute, the duel disks only have five slots!" Joey pointed out with wide eyes which Yami had also noticed.
"That's right, meaning you can only play five magic cards in total and each of the letters counts as a single magic card, and with the Dark Door in play you cannot spell out the entire message." He told Bakura who smirked.
"Very observant of you, however Dark Sanctuary allows me to play more than magic cards, in other words even with my Dark Door in play I can still play all five letters of the Destiny Board and finish my message." He replied.
"So, your Dark Sanctuary allows you to play more than five magic cards and possess my monsters with an evil ghost?" Yami asked.
"Yes, and that is what makes me unstoppable. Your hope of winning is over, in just three short turns you will be finished. Say goodbye to the finals." Bakura answered.
"If only he could figure out which one of his monsters were possessed by that ghost, he'd have a chance to counterattack." Willis said.
"That's right, he still has a shot at winning this duel, but not if he keeps losing life-points." Mai said.
"Maybe he's overthinking things and the goal is not to think at all like Tristan." Duke said.
"Wow what insightful advice." Kari drawled sarcastically which seemed to go unnoticed by Duke who smiled at her making her roll her eyes while her partner giggled into her paw.
"Yugi's going to win right?" Serenity asked Daisuke softly.
"Sure, he will, he just has to figure out how to counter Bakura's ghost." She replied.
Bakura smirked as he drew a card from his deck as his turn had begun and he grinned. "Another monster to sacrifice for my Dark Sanctuary." He thought. "I summon Sangan." He said summoning the monster which appeared on the field.
"And now I will sacrifice it to keep Dark Sanctuary on the field." He said and his monster was consumed by the mist and turned into dust. "And now Sangan's special ability activates, when it's sent to the Graveyard, I can add one monster with 1500 or less Attack points from my deck to my hand." He said selecting a card. "Now let's see what you can do, not much I reckon." Bakura continued to taunt Yami.
"You're wrong, I draw." Yami said, drawing a card.
"Time to pick which one of his monsters my ghost shall possess." Bakura thought as the Ghost of Dark Sanctuary flew out of Dark Magician Girl's body and circled the three monsters on Yami's side of the field. "Yes, the Dark Magician Girl, he'd never suspect I'd choose her twice in a row, the perfect plan."
"I know one of my three monsters are possessed by Bakura's ghost, but which one?" Yami thought before looking down at Kuriboh who cooed up at him. "I doubt it would be Kuriboh, he's too weak for me to attack with anyway meaning it is either Dark Magician Girl or Gamma the Magnet Warrior, I only have one chance thanks to Bakura's Dark Door magic card."
"Make your next move wisely, Yugi. After all you do not know which one of your monsters has been possessed by the Ghost of Dark Sanctuary." Bakura told him.
"I know this monster isn't possessed, since I just drew it." Yami thought looking at the monster in his hand which was Big Shield Gardna. "I summon Big Shield Gardna, in Defence mode!" he said, and his monster appeared on the field crouching behind its shield.
"That was pointless, nothing can protect you from the Ghost of Dark Sanctuary." Bakura told him.
"Now then, it's time to attack. Since Gamma the Magnet Warrior has less Attack points, he's the safer option." Yami thought, looking at his monster. "Gamma the Magnet Warrior, attack now!"
"He didn't attack with the possessed monster, no matter, I have a card to change all that." Bakura thought. "You've triggered my face down card, Dark Spirit of the Silent, did you honestly think I would let you attack my life-points so easily?" he asked Yami as a ghostly spectre burst out of the face down card on the field and rushed Gamma the Magnet Warrior as it flew towards Bakura.
"Dark Spirit of the Silent will stop your Magnet Warrior's in its tracks and will also force your Dark Magician Girl to attack me directly instead." Bakura said with a smirk as the ghostly spectre slammed into Gamma the Magnet Warrior halting its attack.
"No, if she's the one who was possessed by the Ghost of Dark Sanctuary, then if she attacks…"
"You lose 1250 life-points, and I'm afraid she is the one possessed, and she will be attacking me right now." Bakura said with an evil grin.
"No!" Daisuke gasped, hands over her mouth and eyes wide in shock as her former monster was forced to charge towards Bakura, the female spellcaster having tears in her eyes as she did so before the Ghost of Dark Sanctuary flew out of her back and slammed into Yami sending him back another step.
"You seem to be getting weaker, while I continue to get stronger." Bakura said with a laugh as Yami's life-points fell to 750 while his own life-points climbed back up to 3400.
Mokuba began shivering, his arms shaking at his sides. "All these ghosts and evil spirits are beginning to freak me out, Seto." He said softly.
"Nonsense, spirits don't exist. The only thing Yami has to worry about is losing this duel and his Egyptian God Card when all five letters appear on the Destiny Board, not that it matters since I'll win everything in the end." Kaiba thought before noticing Daisuke kneeling in front of Mokuba and hugging him gently with a kind smile.
"It's okay Mokuba, I won't let those mean ghosts get you." She told him softly with a big-sister like smile before giving Kaiba a small glare for not comforting his little brother.
"I'm afraid this duel is all but over for you; too bad I was beginning to enjoy playing with you. One more attack to your life-points and you're finished." Bakura said sadistically.
"He's right, if I attack with one more monster that's possessed, I'll lose the duel and be removed from the Battle City Finals. If I could only figure out a way to destroy the Evil Ghost of Dark Sanctuary, but how can I destroy something I can't even see." Yami thought as he looked at his hand for something that could help him when he noticed two cards. "Wait, that might be it. These cards could help me."
"Perhaps you are willing to surrender, however I defeat you doesn't matter to me." Bakura told him.
"I'll never quit. I place two cards face down and end my turn." Yami replied, placing the two cards he saw in his hand into his duel disk and both appeared face down on the field behind his four monsters.
"So, you finally see now that nothing you do will save you from my Evil Ghost of Dark Sanctuary. It's merely a matter of time." Bakura told him.
"Wrong, I assure you that your Evil Ghost of Dark Sanctuary is in for a rude awakening and once it's gone, I'll be free to attack you directly." Yami replied.
"Nothing you do is a match against my deck, and time continues to run out for you, observe the Destiny Board." Bakura said as the ghostly hand moved the pointer around the Destiny Board again before the pointer stopped on another letter.
"The third letter." Yami said.
"Yes, the letter N." Bakura said, a third ball of ghostly flames appearing next to the other two letters before it shaped itself into the letter N making everyone look at it in worry.
"Two more turns and it's all over." Joey said, holding Daisuke's hand and squeezing it tightly in worry.
"My Destiny Board has spelled out three letters of my message so far." Bakura said, drawing his next card and he smirked. "I now summon Souls of the Forgotten." His new monster appeared on the field. "Now I sacrifice it to keep Dark Sanctuary on the field." His monster was quickly consumed by the mist and turned to ash like the other monsters before it. "Now the time has come for you to make your final move, which one of your monsters has been possessed. I wonder, you'll have to risk it if you are to win this duel." He told Yami.
Yami smirked while looking at Bakura. "I have a plan to defeat your ghost once and for all and once it's gone, I won't have to worry about my monsters being possessed." He told Bakura as his friends cheered him on.
"Come on Yami, give this horror story a happy ending. Kick his butt back to the Shadow Realm!" Joey shouted with a smirk.
"Say goodbye to your ghost." Yami said, drawing his next card as Bakura's ghost flew around his monsters before entering Dark Magician Girl's body again.
"My ghost is already possessing one of your monsters, now you have to find it in order to destroy it." Bakura told him.
"I think not, I have just the card in my deck to stop it. Activate face down card, Collected Power. This trap card forces certain magic cards to focus on Kuriboh." Yami said as his face down card activated and Dark Magician Girl's magic book, the one she had been equipped with earlier in the duel floated out of her body before floating over to Kuriboh who began trying to read the arcane writings only getting a headache judging by the swirls in his eyes.
"Why would he do something like that, Collected Power only lets Kuriboh absorb the powers of a few magic cards." Kaiba said.
"Unless it also absorbed the ghost!" Daisuke gasped with wide eyes looking to Kaiba who had the same thought.
"I knew your ghost lived inside Dark Sanctuary, so by using Collected Powers I have forced it to possess my Kuriboh." Yami told Bakura who watched as his ghost flew out of Dark Magician Girl's body and into Kuriboh.
"What do you plan to do now?" he asked Yami who chuckled and held up another magic card.
"Simple, I use Exile of the Wicked to destroy my Kuriboh and your ghost." He replied placing the Magic card in his duel disk and Kuriboh and the Ghost of Dark Sanctuary were destroyed in a flash of bright light.
"You may have defeated my ghost but with the Destiny Board still in play I will still win this duel in two turns." Bakura said confidently only for his confidence to be wiped away by Yami's smirk.
"Don't be so sure, after all it's still my move." He told him and his friends cheered.
"Listen to me." Bakura heard the voice of Marik in his mind. "Just in case you haven't noticed, you've lost control of this duel."
"What do you mean?" Bakura growled.
"Your opponent has crushed your strategy by vanquishing your ghost." Marik told him.
"Go away, I don't need your help." He replied.
"Don't be a fool."
"I said go!" Bakura shouted at him.
"You seem to forget that we have an agreement, so if you are still interested in those Millennium Items you will listen to me, if you lose this duel you'll be removed from the finals and become incapable of retrieving the Egyptian God Cards for me." Marik said.
"I won't lose."
"I find that hard to believe based on the way you've been dueling so far." Marik told him. "Win this, or no deal." He then left Bakura's mind who turned his attention back to Yami.
"Alright, now the time has come for me to bring back a monster from the Graveyard." Yami said. "Activate my other face down card Monster Reborn, I'll bring back a monster from your Graveyard." He continued as Bakura gasped seeing his Graveyard slot on his duel disk glow. "Dark Necrofear return!" the dark monster appeared in front of Yami in a burst of black flames which swirled around it. "Now say goodbye to your Dark Sanctuary!"
Bakura's eyes widened in fear as he saw the Dark Sanctuary dissolving before his very eyes. "Alright Yami!" Daisuke cheered with a grin.
"Since destroying Dark Necrofear released it, I knew that bringing it back would defeat it." Yami told Bakura. "And now that Dark Sanctuary is gone, you're no longer allowed to play more than five magic cards, so I'm afraid this might hinder some of your plans." He continued as Bakura looked down at his duel disk which had all but one of its magic/trap card slots filled up with cards already. "And now I'll attack you with Dark Necrofear!"
Dark Necrofear's eyes widened before constricting and she fired a powerful dual blast of energy from her eyes at Bakura hitting him directly in the chest and he grunted in pain. "Alright this duel is almost done, since you've lost almost half your life-points." Yami told him.
Bakura fought back the pain and clenched his fist. "I now add the fourth letter to the Destiny Board, the letter A!" he shouted playing another magic card taking up his final magic card slot on his duel disk, the ghostly hand moved the pointer over to the letter A on the board before it appeared beside the other three letters now made of ghostly fire.
Yami looked at the four letters and he smirked. "The word you wish to spell out is Final, it's just too bad that you won't be able to complete the Destiny Board now."
"What do you…" Bakura questioned.
"Look at your duel disk, you've got five magic cards currently in play so you won't be able to play the fifth and final letter. Unless you make the decision to remove the Dark Door magic card to give you some room, only that would lift its effect on my monsters making them all free to attack in the next turn. Which they would surely wipe you out in a single attack." Yami told him.
"This can't be true…" Bakura growled out.
"Stick a fork in that guy because he's done." Tristan said with a grin.
"What's that fool doing?" Marik thought, glaring at Bakura as he entered his mind once again. "You've lost the advantage, and now you're trapped with no way out of this scenario." He told him.
"I know."
"Then shall I control your mind and duel him myself?" Marik asked.
"Never, I plan to get out of this trap on my own." Bakura growled in response.
"See to it that you do, or the next time we speak it will be when I take control of your mind and finish this duel on my own." Marik warned him before he left his mind.
"This duel is far from over." Bakura told Yami. "I draw." He said, drawing his next card and he smirked. "You thought you had me defeated but this duel is far from over. I will still bring about the end for you."
"This doesn't look good, come on Yami you can do this." Daisuke thought confidently as she held hope that her friend could turn the duel around.
