Liv is crying softly on the couch. Stephen is on the floor in the corner looking at her visibly shaken demeanor. Stephen buries his hands in his face, he's begun to cry. Liv is taking deep breaths between tears. She's massaging her belly. She closes her eyes. He speaks softly.

"I would never hurt you," Stephen says. She looks at him. The irony of his words just hang in the air. The silence seems to last forever. He can see the incredulity on her face. "Liv, you have to believe me."

"You were going to rape me Stephen. You wanted to rape me," Liv says.

"I wouldn't have...I couldn't have. I wanted to make love to you," Stephen says.

"I said no. No means no. If I hadn't told you I was pregnant. What would have stopped you?" She asks.

He stands up and she flinches at the thought of him coming toward her. She shifts on the couch. "I'm sorry. You don't know how sorry I am."

"I always counted on you. Maybe I counted on you too much. Did I ever lead you on? Did I send you mixed signals?" she asks. She wants to make sense of this all.

"No, you never lead me on. I just wanted you...I wanted to make up for the mistake of letting you go. I wanted to…." He stops, the weight of his actions are coming down on him.

"That was the past Stephen," Liv says.

"You were never in the past for me," he says. She's chilly. Her top is torn and she's criss crossing her arms around her chest. She feels naked in his presence now. He walks over to the couch, picking up a throw and passing it to her. "Please take it," he says. Liv reluctantly takes it, wrapping it around her tightly. She rubs her stomach. "Did I….," he doesn't know how to ask. "Did I….hurt you?"

"Physically you didn't hurt me. But.."

"You have to forgive me," He says going to her.

She holds up her hand. Sternly eyeing his down, "Don't come near me."

"Olivia, I need you to forgive me," Stephen says as he backs away.

She's trying to make this all make sense in her head. She feels like she's outside of herself looking at this scene in total disbelief. "What was your plan Stephen? The tv show. What was your plan?"

He doesn't know how to answer. To be honest he didn't even know what his plan was supposed to be. He just wanted her in his orbit. "I don't know."

Liv looks at him even more confused. "You don't know. You engineered something that nearly cost me one of my best friends. And you don't know what your plan was."

Now he is pacing the room. Liv couldn't make her feet move if she tried. She's afraid to move. "I wanted you to see the life we'd have together. I thought if I got you this job you'd love it. We'd start working together and eventually you would see me as the guy that is madly in love with you and would do anything to make you happy."

"Fitz makes me happy. Fitz is the love of my life. Why can't you accept that?" Liv answers as the words make Stephen grimace. "You are the friend I brought from my ugly past that knew my past tears. You knew my past fears. You knew my pain. You of all people should have been happy for me that I found someone to love me. There was always a place in my heart for you that no one could replace but as my friend. My very special friend. I never wanted to lose that and now..," she trails off.

"I am still that person," Stephen says.

"No you aren't Stephen. You aren't that person because you couldn't love me in the capacity that you should. You were secretly trying to undermine my marriage and take me away from the family I've built with Fitz," Liv says as the tears fall.

"I need you to forgive me Liv. I need you to tell me that you forgive me," Stephen pleads.

"Even if I wanted to forgive you, I can't. I can't trust someone who doesn't care about me," Liv starts.

"Dammit, I did all this because I love you," Stephen says with a heightened voice.

"You did this for you. It was never for me."

"I don't know what came over me. I don't know what I was thinking. You'll never know how sorry I am. You'll never know that I'll regret this for the rest of my life."

"Do you expect me to forget this ever happened? Do you expect me to let you walk out of this room and we forget this ever took place. I can't do this. Fitz will never let you do that," Liv reminds him. She can see the wheels turning in his head.

"I'm sorry," he says again.

"Are you going to let me go? Or, are you going to finish what you started?" Liv asks.

"Olivia," he says.

"Do you want to fuck me right here? Do you want to prove your manhood to me? Let me strip for you so you don't have to put me through the degradation of you stripping me down and manhandling me. Is that what you want?" She gets up and motions she's going to take off her dress.

Her words are stinging him in a way he didn't know was possible. The shame is all over his face. "Stop Liv. What are you doing?"

"I am giving you what you want. You won't let me leave until you've gotten what you fought so hard for," Liv says.

He gets up. She flinches inside. She doesn't want him to know how afraid she is and how scared she is of this bluff. He doesn't say a word. He grabs his costume helmet and rushes out of the door. Liv takes a breath, falling to her knees crying.

Fitz is in the lobby with everyone else. They've checked the pool area. They've checked the restaurants and other areas they think she could be. Fitz even goes to the bungalow hoping she went to surprise him there. He makes his way back to the lobby.

"Have you seen her?" Fitz says to Abby and everyone else.

"I keep calling her phone. She's not answering," Candace says.

"I don't know where the hell she could be," Fitz says. "Something is wrong. I know it is. Dammit he hurt her," Fitz says.

"Listen we don't know where she is. She could be fine. Maybe her battery is out," Abby tries to reason.

Harrison steps up, "Listen, we are going to kick his ass if he did something to Liv."

"Where the hell is Huck?" Abby asks.

David looks at her confused, "Who is Huck?"

Fitz calls him. He knows he has Hal.

Huck has Hal tied to a chair. He's beat him until he's black and blue. He has him in a choke hold. "Where is she?"

"I don't know what you are talking about," Hal maintains.

Hucks squeezes his neck tighter, "You want me to snap your neck."

Hal answers, "Yeah I do. I don't walk away from a job even if threatened."

"You mean even if dead. You don't walk away from a job."

"I am going to earn my fucking money. You'll never know where she is," Hal says proudly. Huck's phone rings but he doesn't answer. "Aren't you going to answer Mr. Grant?"

Huck says nothing. He ties Hal's mouth so he can muffle the screams. He starts breaking each of Hal's fingers. The agony of the pain is heard through muffle. The sounds of the bones snapping are hard to hear.

Fitz is nearly shaking, "Dammit, he won't answer."

One of the concierge agents walks up to Fitz, "Excuse me . Is everything okay?"

"What?" Fitz says.

"Is everything okay?" the concierge repeats.

"I'm just looking for my wife," Fitz answers, not really eyeing the concierge.

"Last time I saw her, she was going towards the elevators," the concierge says.

"Was she with someone?" Harrison pipes in.

"No, I saw someone pass her a note and she went toward the elevators," he answers.

"Dammit," Fitz says as he looks around worriedly. "Let's split up and look everywhere else again." Everyone agrees to do so and split up. Fitz sees another Storm Trooper and he screams his name, "Stephen."

Stephen turns his head and realizes it is Fitz. He begins to run. He's running toward the pool area. Fitz is hot on his trail. Everyone is confused by the commotion. Fitz catches him and throws him down. He yanks the helmet off his head. "Where is she, you motherfucker?" Fitz says.

Stephen is trying to throw him off of him. Fitz is punching him mercilessly. "Where is my wife? What did you do to her?"

Stephen is trying to talk through the hits, "I am sorry. I didn't mean to hurt her. I didn't mean to hurt her."

"What did you do?" Fitz says. There's sweat pouring from him. He's nearly foaming at the mouth. HIs body feels like a thousand pounds on top of him.

"Mr. Grant! Mr. Grant!," a security guard says as he tries to pull Fitz away.

"Let me go dammit," Fitz breaks away from the grip. "He knows where my wife is."

Harrison, Abby, Quinn and everyone else hear the commotion as they make it to the pool area. The security guard finally gets Fitz of Stephen. "Mr. Grant," the security guard repeats.

Stephen is trying to catch his breath. He's coughing and choking. He's out of breath. "I didn't hurt her."

Fitz is about to speak when his phone rings. He sees its Huck. He answers, "What?"

"She's in the Presidential Suite," Huck says.

Fitz turns, "The Presidential Suite," he says as he runs toward the elevator. "Harrison, David, and Charlie...Stay with Stephen," he says. Everyone else follows suit. Fitz is anxious. He's watching the numbers on the elevator. "Come on," Fitz says.

"I think she's okay," Abby says.

"I am sure she is," Candace says.

Fitz's phone begins to ring. He looks down to see it's Liv. "It's Liv," he says, answering. "Livvie, Baby, where are you?" He says. Just as he says this, the elevator doors open with Liv standing there.

"Fitz," she cries.

"Livvie," he rushes to her, quickly noticing her clothes and the towel wrapped around her.

"Liv, you okay," Candace says.

"Olivia," Abby says. Quinn is just taking it all in.

Fitz stops and just looks at her, "Liv, you okay? Baby talk to me," he says as she falls in his arms and cries.

The General Manager appears to them, "Mr. Grant, do you need….?" He stops when he sees Liv wrapped in Fitz's arms crying.

"I need you to make sure that the man is taken to jail," Fitz says.

"We need to talk about what happened?" The General Manager says to Fitz.

Candace and Quinn are rubbing Liv's back while Fitz holds her. She lifts her head. She now notices how red Fitz's face is and the cut on his lip. "Where's Stephen?"

Abby steps in, "Liv, why don't we sit down?"

"They are holding him," Fitz answers.

"Mrs. Grant," the manager pipes in. "Can you tell us what happened?" Liv just stares at him blankly.

They've gotten her over to a seat. Fitz kneels in front of her. "Did he hurt you?" Fitz says. He can't bear to say the words. He can only assume from her torn clothes. Abby, Quinn, and Candace look on in horror.

"Mrs. Grant, were you assaulted?" The manager asks.

"Livvie," Fitz says as she just stares. His heart is breaking.

Liv closes her eyes, letting the tears fall. She looks at the manager, "He was going to rape me."

"I am going to kill him," Fitz says, getting up ready to charge toward where they are holding Stephen.

"Fitz," Liv pleads softly.

"You want me to get you a shirt Liv," Candace says. Liv shakes her head.

"I'll go find one," Quinn says walking towards the front desk.

Abby runs behind Fitz, stopping him, "You can't kill him. Liv needs you right now."

Fitz stops in a huff. He takes a breath, looking over at Li,. "Okay," he utters. The police have arrived as the General Manager meets them. Fitz hurries back to Liv, "I'm here. I'm here. I'm not going anywhere," he says.

One of the officers is sent to where Stephen is, Abby goes with them. The officer starts asking questions, "Mrs. Grant, can you tell me what happened?"

Liv lifts her head from Fitz's chest, "He was going to rape me but he didn't."

The officer is looking her over. He doesn't see bruises. Fitz is looking for the same thing. The officer says, "Did he hit you? Did he use any force to restrain you?"

Fitz is biting his lip through the questioning. He is balling his fists. Liv draws his arms around her tighter. She knows he is blinded by his anger. "No, he didn't restrain me. He threw me down on the couch and he ripped my dress. That's all that happened," Liv continues. She just wants this to be over. She just wants to be alone, with Fitz and forget it all. She knows that's not possible but it's all she can handle right now.

"Did he kidnap you?" The officer asks.

"No, I thought it was my," she looks up at Fitz and back to the officer, "I thought it was my husband sending for me when I got his note. He was dressed like my husband. I thought it was him and it was Stephen."

"So you know who he is," The officer says.

"Yes. He was a friend of mine. For a long time," Liv says.

Fitz kisses the top of her head, "I am sorry. I am sorry I let this happen."

Liv shakes her head, "It's not your fault."

"I didn't protect you. It is," Fitz says.

She caresses his face, "Don't let me go." He pulls her in tighter.

"Do we need to call you an ambulance?" The officer asks as Quinn returns with a shirt she can throw on.

"No, he didn't physically hurt me," Liv implores.

Candace is on the phone, no doubt calling her family. Harrison is texting what's happening.

"Do you want to press charges?" The officer asks.

"Yes she does," Fitz answers before Liv can. She is hesitant at first. Fitz can see the hesitation but he doesn't say anything.

"It has to be your wife's decision Mr. Grant," the officer says.

Liv is sad by the reality of all of this. She hates this position she is in. "Yes, I would like to press charges."

"We are going to need you to come down and make a formal statement," the officer announces.

"Do I have to do it tonight? I can't…." Liv starts.

Fitz gets up and takes the officer to the side. "Listen, her birthday is tomorrow. Can I bring her in on Monday?"

The officer looks over at Liv, looking back at Fitz. "Yes, that will be fine. For what it's worth, I am glad nothing worse happened."

"Thanks," Fitz says.

Candace is sitting next to Liv, "I called Aunt Maya. Of course, she's freaking out. I told her that you were okay and that it didn't happen...you know," Candace says.

"Thank you Candace! It's just. My mind is spinning," Liv says.

"That's okay! A lot happened tonight. Your mind is allowed to spin," Candace says.

Liv looks at Quinn, who is still a bit shell shocked by it all. "Thanks for getting me this," Liv continues, pointing at the shirt.

"Are you sure you are okay Liv?" Quinn says.

"I will be. I'm shocked but I will be okay," Liv answers.

Fitz appears, "I got them to agree to wait until Monday for you to come in and give your statement."

"I just want to go," Liv says.

Candace gets up so Fitz can sit beside her, "Why don't we still go to the bungalow for tonight? Go get the girls in the morning and go home."

"I like that idea," Liv says.

Candace reaches in, "I am sorry I called Aunt Maya. She wants to fly here. I think I stopped her for now."

"I'll call her," Liv says softly.

"Let me get you back to the bungalow," Fitz says as he reaches for her hand. She gets up from the seat.

"Quinn, can you get me some clothes? Rosie can pack me a bag. Can you drop it off?"

Before she can finish, Fitz interjects, "I already have you a bag that's packed and in the bungalow."

Her and Fitz get up and start walking. The police are bringing Stephen out in handcuffs. Stephen turns and sees Liv and Fitz walking in their direction. He turns to her, "Liv I'm sorry. You have to know how sorry I am. I would never hurt you," he says as Fitz goes plunging at him. Harrison and Charlie pull him back.

"You stay the hell away from my wife you bastard," Fitz says seething. Liv can see the many bruises that now decorate Stephen's face. She calls Fitz's name softly. All eyes are on them and Liv just wants a soft place to land. She feels like she's in another world. Fitz goes to her quickly, "I'm sorry baby. I'm sorry. I'm right here," he says kissing her temple.

"Do you need us to do anything?" David says.

"Besides help me sneak into the lockup and help me finish beating his ass, I don't think there is anything," Fitz says.

"Liv," Abby says eyeing her, "If you need anything just call."

"Thanks Abby," Liv says. None of them can tell if she's just in shock or just quiet.

"Call me cuz for anything," Candace says. She kisses her temple, "And I call you tomorrow." Liv looks up at her confused. "Your birthday. I'll call and say happy birthday." Liv smiles and nods.

They all watch as Liv and Fitz go for the separate entrance to the bungalows.

Quinn with a worried look on her face, "You think she's going to be okay?"

"Liv is one of the strongest women I know. She's going to be fine," Abby answers.

"She's a Pope woman. She'll go to the jail herself and kick his ass if she has to," Candace jokes.

"I don't know about you all but I'm in no mood to party anymore. I just feel like beating ass. How about we go to Canter's Deli and get some grub and a few beers," Harrison says.

"Sounds like a plan," Charlie says.

They all start walking out. Abby says under her breath, "I wonder what happened to Huck?"

"What honey?" David says.

"Nothing," Abby says, shaking her head.

Meanwhile, alongside Laurel Canyon, Huck drops a badly injured Hal on the side of the road. The pain of his broken fingers is excruciating.

"You can't leave me here," Hal says. "This is a fucking canyon."

"I'm sure you'll find your way to the bottom somehow," Huck says.

"Come on! At least drop me at my apartment," Hal pleads as Huck looks down at him.

"You stay the hell away from The Grants. The next time I won't be so nice," Huck promises as he drives away.

Liv and Fitz make it back to the bungalow. He was planning to carry her over the threshold, newlywed style. He knows that won't work. Now he just wants to take her somewhere safe. He knows this is the safest place for her right now. They walk through the doors and Liv can't help but show her shock. She can't find the words. The renovations came out perfect. There's a beautiful banner that reads: Welcome to Our Love Nest.

She can't help but chuckle, "Fitz it's perfect."

He pulls her close to him, "Hey, you had the decorating eye. I think we did a great job redesigning this place."

"I love it," she smiles faintly.

His lips are planted on her temple, "I'm sorry baby. I'm sorry."

"Don't leave me," she says.

He turns her around, "You couldn't get rid of me if you tried. I have one more surprise for you."

"Fitz," she starts.

"Close your eyes," he says.

"Why?"

"Close your eyes," he repeats. She complies and closes them. He walks over the living area. He turns her around so she can see the special surprise. "You can open," he says.

She opens her eyes and is met by the painting of her and the girls. "Oh my God," she says.

He comes behind her, putting his arm around her. She flinches slightly. "It's okay. It's me," he assures her.

"I am sorry," she says as she places her hands on top of his.

"Don't be sorry. I'm here now. No one is going to hurt you. Stephen is not going to hurt you," he answers. He then looks down at his outfit. He starts to laugh, "I need to change. Give me a minute." He realizes that costume is probably the last thing she wants to see. He runs in their bedroom and throws on a pair of sweatpants and a shirt. He comes back out. "This is better." Liv is still staring at the painting. "What do you think?"

"I love it. When did you have this done? Where did you get this picture?"

"Well, remember when we were on the beach and you took the girls walking? And they loved the water hitting their little feet," Fitz asks.

"Yes, of course. I'll never forget their faces every time the waves met us," she smiled. The memory has transported her away from the present and to a happier place.

"I snapped that photo. I couldn't help myself. My girls….it was the most beautiful sight. The look on your face. The look on their faces. It was a pure moment and I was so glad I captured it. I wanted you to see what I saw," Fitz says.

She turns to him, "I love it. I love you. I love them."

"Are you sure we don't need to go to the hospital? Are you sure he didn't hurt you? I mean...I know you said he didn't but..," he is careful to use his words.

"I'm fine. He didn't hurt me. It didn't get to go that far," Liv says shakily.

"What do you want to do?" Fitz asks.

"Well, I see my husband had a whole night planned for us and…"

Fitz stops her, "I understand if you aren't in the mood. But if you are hungry we do have food. If you don't want to eat that's fine too. We can.."

She puts her finger on his lips, "I am hungry, very hungry actually and the only thing I need other than food is a nice hot shower."

"How about you take your shower and I'll set us a table to have something to eat? Then we can do whatever else you want."

"Thank you," she says as she gives him a kiss and walks toward their bedroom.

Just as Liv closes the door, Fitz's phone rings. He sees who it is and knows he better answer it. "Hi Mom," Fitz says.

"Is my baby okay?" Maya says. "Don't lie to me. Candace is telling me Liv is okay but I don't believe her."

"Tell us the truth, did he rape my baby?" Maya says.

"No he didn't. She's taking a shower and then I'm going to get some food in her and see if I can get her to talk to me," Fitz says.

"Where are the girls?" Maya asks.

"They are with my mom."

Maya takes a breath. She knows she's being short with Fitz. "I am sorry. I am just upset and I'm worried about her."

"I know. I'm upset and I'm worried about her too," Fitz says.

Levi cuts in on the phone, "Fitz, did you kick his ass? Tell me you kicked his ass."

"Levi, cut it out," Maya says.

"Yes, I kicked his ass," Fitz answers.

"My man," Levi says.

"Men...I am worried about my baby. Fitz do I need to fly down there. I can be on the first flight out tomorrow," Maya says.

Fitz is still working on the table while talking to them. "Let me get her through the night. Let me talk to her and see what she wants and I'll let you know," Fitz says.

"I know you'll take care of her," Maya says.

"Of course I will," Fitz answers. He can hear the water in the shower go off. "I better get going, she'll be back in a second."

"Okay, I love you both. We love you both," Maya says.

"Love you too," Fitz says, hanging up.

Liv comes out in her plush robe. Her hair wet from the shower. He takes her by the hand, sitting her down at the table. "Everything smells good."

"Well, I had already set up a private chef to have food waiting for us when we got back here. We lucked out and the food is still warm. I mean I can nuke in the microwave if you want me to," Fitz suggests.

"No, this is good. I'm sure it is," Liv says as she looks at the plate.

Fitz looks around the table. "Shit, I almost forgot the wine."

"You won't believe this but I'm not in the mood for wine. What sounds good right now is some sparkling water," she answers.

Fitz gets up from the table. He's nearly tripping over himself. "I made sure they stocked your favorite."

She grabs his hand, stopping him. She knows his mind is spinning and he's upset and feeling guilty, "I'm okay. Slow down. You are making me even more nervous."

He stops and takes a breath, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Do you need anything else?"

"Just you," she answers.

He reaches down and gives her a kiss. He takes a breath. He goes over getting the sparkling water and sits down next to her, "I just want you to be okay."

"I will be," Liv says and then she starts to laugh. The first laugh he's seen since everything happened.

"What's so funny?" He asks.

They sit quietly and eat. The elephant in the room just hangs there. Fitz decides he can't keep avoiding it. "Livvie, we need to talk about what happened tonight," he says, turning to her.

"I know that," Liv says as she lifts her head up to him.

"I know you don't want to talk about it. And I don't know if I can stand hearing it but we need to talk about it baby. I don't want this to…"

"I know we do. I just don't know where to start. I just can't make sense of it. It's Stephen. A man I've known a long time. A man who I considered to be a friend. And he tried to do the unthinkable," Liv explains.

"Why did you go with him?" Fitz says and he tries not to sound judgemental. "I'm sorry, I don't mean to sound…"

"An attendant passed me a note. I thought it was you and since I knew the bungalow was being renovated," she shrugs her shoulders, "I didn't think it was odd you wanted me to meet you in the Presidential Suite."

Fitz shakes his head. He wants her to stop but he wants to know it all. "Then what happened," Fitz asks.

"I got there and I knocked and he opened the door. He was dressed like you and he never spoke at first. That's why I didn't know it wasn't you." He nods for her to go on. "I made jokes at first and he went along with it and I wanted you to take your helmet off and he finally did and I was shocked. I never expected it to be him of course."

Fitz is biting his lip. The anger is rising in him again. "Okay…"

"And I wanted to leave of course and one thing led to another and of course he threw me down on the couch and," she grabs her stomach. It doesn't occur to Fitz that she is. "And he said some things and then ripped the top of my dress down."

"What did he say?"

She closes her eyes, "That's not important."

"Yes it is. What did he say? I promise I won't get mad," he says.

"Fitz, you already wish you could go where he is and try to kill him right now. You are already mad," she points out.

Fitz gets up from his seat. He starts to pace. "He tried to rape my wife. Of course I am mad. I'm fucking angry Liv. He needs to pay."

"I know. Right now, I don't care what they did with him. I don't care where he is. I just need you right now. I worried about your hand. I am worried you hurt yourself." Liv says.

"My hand is fine," Fitz says.

"Fitz," Liv says.

"What did he say Livvie?" He asks.

She sighs, "He said he was going to make love to me and show me what real love was."

"He put his hands on you," Fitz says. Liv doesn't say anything and Fitz knows she's holding back. "What else happened Liv?"

"Nothing Fitz," she says unconvincingly.

"Liv," he says. He's trying to be patient with her. "Don't tell me nothing else happened. I know it did. Please don't lie to me."

She closed her eyes, it hasn't all sunk in yet. "He started kissing my chest and then he stopped."

Liv can see Fitz balling his fist. He squints his eyes, "He started kissing your chest. Did he take off your bra?"

"No. He never got that far," she answers.

Fitz looks at her confused. "He's been obsessed with you all this time. He finally gets you alone and is trying to get what he wants and he just stops. What stopped him?"

"Can we go to bed? We can talk about this more tomorrow," Liv pleads.

"Liv," he answers.

"I promise, I will tell you more tomorrow. I just…I just need you to hold me."

He hurries over to her, "Okay, we will finish this tomorrow," he says kissing the top of her head. "I'll lock up."

"Okay," she says. She reaches up on her tiptoes and gives him a peck. "Don't be too long." She knows she needs to tell him about the baby but she decides tomorrow might be better.

"I won't," he says as he watches go towards the bedroom. He looks down in at his hands, his knuckles, and he grimaces. He removes their plates off the table. He rinses them and places them in the dishwasher. He stares over at the painting of his family, his loves. He knows tonight could have turned out way different and he's grateful it didn't. His family will always come first. He turns out the lights and goes into their bedroom. She's in the bathroom. She can't tell him she threw up everything they just ate. She comes out to find him undressing. "I'm going to take a quick shower," he says. He looks at her, he can tell there's something going on. He walks over to her, rubbing her shoulders, "You okay baby."

"I'm good," she smiles. Fitz disappears into the bathroom. Liv picks up the phone calling her mother. Her mother picks up immediately.

"Livvie," she says.

"Mom," Liv responds.

"Are you okay?"

"I am okay. Honestly, I am okay," Liv answers.

"I'm so worried about you," Maya says.

"I know and I don't need you to fly here," Liv says. Maya stays quiet. "Mommy please don't worry about me. I know what happened, believed me. I just can't believe it was Stephen. It just all seems unreal."

"Honey, just let Fitz take care of you. Don't be stubborn. And don't try to protect him. It's just going to make him angrier."

"I know, there's just a lot to deal with."

"Levi says he loves you and I love you too," Maya says.

"I love you both," Liv answers. "I better go. I'm tired. I'm drained."

"Okay, we will talk tomorrow and Livvie," Maya starts.

"Yes.."

"Happy Birthday my little Patootie," Maya says.

"Thanks Mommy," Liv answers playfully as they hang up. She steps back into the bedroom and removes her robe, getting into bed. She's literally in her birthday suit.

Fitz comes out of the shower with a towel wrapped around his waist. His body still glistening from the steam of the shower. He turns to see her in bed under the cover. "Hi," he says

"Hi," she smiles back. He's looking for his boxers and a shirt. "Can we skip clothes?"

He looks at her shocked, "What?"

"I just need to feel your skin on mine," she says.

"Are you sure?" He asks apprehensively.

"I'm positive," Liv responds as she throws the covers back for him to join her.

Fitz pulls the tower from his waist, climbing into bed with her. He pulls her close as she holds him by the waist. They are eye to eye as he moves the hair from in front of her face so he can look into those beautiful doe eyes. "I'm worried about you," he says.

"I know and I promise I'm okay now that I'm right here with you," she answers.

"Can I kiss you?" Fitz asks.

"Why are you asking me?"

"Because a man decided it was okay to manhandle my wife tonight, to disrespect her. I'll never be okay with that. That goes for any man, including me."

Liv moves in before he can speak again and kisses him, "I love you so much. You'll never understand."

"I love you so much. Your safety and your happiness means everything to me. I want you to understand that."

She pecks his lips again, "I understand. Now hold me tighter."

He doesn't protest and holds her tighter. He looks over at the clock and sees it's 12:05. She's wrapped tightly in his arms. They are skin to skin. He strokes her back with his fingertips, lulling her to sleep and he begins, Happy birthday to you...happy birthday to you..happy birthday to my baby. Happy birthday to you. Liv kisses his chest and snuggles into him going to sleep.

It's the next morning. It feels like they never moved from how they fell asleep. Liv is still nestled in his arms. He's been listening to her soft whistles in her sleep. He's stroking her hair and softly kissing her head. It's 9am. They don't know when it is the last time they've slept in this way. She's starting to stir.

"Good morning birthday girl," Fitz says.

"Is it morning?" Liv muffles.

"It is," he answers.

"I could lay like this all day," Liv says as she finally opens her eyes.

"We can if you want. It's your birthday and you can do whatever you want," Fitz stresses.

Liv sits up. Fitz lays on her chest, holding her close to him. She's raking her fingers through Fitz's hair. "I'm ready to answer your questions."

Fitz looks up, "Are you sure?"

"I'm sure," she smiles.

He sits up next to her. "I don't want to push you but I don't want you to hide anything from me. I don't care how bad it is. I love you no matter what."

"I know that. It's just my head was running a marathon without me. I need a moment to catch up. I just needed a minute," she explains.

"I know he didn't rape you but did he hurt you. Please tell me that," Fitz pleads.

"No he didn't. He never got the chance. I am telling you the truth."

He links his fingers with hers, "Besides kissing your chest what else," he treads lightly.

"Nothing," she answers. "I'd like to think I haven't been completely wrong about Stephen all these years. I knew this wasn't him. I offered him the chance to take what he wanted."

"What the fuck? You offered him your body. Why would you do that?" Fitz says angrily.

"I knew none of this was what Stephen wanted. I just wanted him to see what he was doing to me and to himself. I wanted him to come to his sentences," Liv explains.

"Is this some psychiatry trick that you all learn and you hope it works. What if he thought you were serious and took you up on your offer," Fitz says as the temperature in the room rises.

"He didn't. He realized what he was doing, seeing me there scared of him, crying. He realized he did that to me and I think it killed him," Liv further explains.

"I should fucking kill him. And you acted like you didn't want to press charges. Would you have pressed charges if I hadn't been there?" Fitz asks.

Liv sits up more to face him, "Fitz I don't want to fight. Not after everything that happened. I don't want to fight with you."

"Would you have pressed charges if I wasn't there? I know he's your friend Liv. I know you have a special relationship because of your past. But that past is the past. He wanted to raped you. He could have raped you. He doesn't deserve any sympathy once you cross that line," Fitz answers.

Liv drops her head. "You are right."

Fitz immediately gets mad for scolding her. He lifts her head to look at him, "I'm sorry. I am not angry with you. You have a good heart. You see the good in people and you give people chances. I love that about you but this is not one of those times. He doesn't deserve it."

"What do you think is going to happen to him?"

He looks at her, square in the eyes, "To be honest, I don't care. I just want you to be okay. That's all I care about."

She strokes his face, "I am okay. I promise."

"I just can't believe he just stopped. I mean I am not complaining. I am glad he came to his senses. I am glad he had some stream of consciousness," Fitz says randomly.

Liv sits up, tightening the sheet around her naked form. "There's a reason he stopped. It wasn't just what I did. It was what I said?"

"What did you say?" Fitz says confused.

"I told him not to hurt me…," she says slowly. "I asked him not to hurt us."

"What? I don't understand," Fitz says squinting his eyes.

Liv takes his hand and places it on her stomach, "Us," she clarifies.

Fitz is not registering at first. She's keeping his hand there until it does. "Us, is that a riddle?" Then it starts to make sense as he looks at Liv's smiling face. "Us as in…"

"Us as in +1," Liv answers.

"We're pregnant," Fitz says sitting up to face her.

"We're pregnant," she laughs.

He smashes into her face kissing her, "Another little Grant."

"Another little Grant," Liv says.

"Oh baby," he says as he kisses her again. Liv's other words register. "You told him you were pregnant."

"Yes I did and he stopped," she answers.

"Now I really could kill that bastard. You are carrying our precious cargo and he…"

"Our precious cargo saved me," Liv says.

He talks to her stomach, "You are already protecting mommy."

"Yes," she says as tears form.

He reaches down and kisses her stomach, "Baby, it's daddy. I'm so happy you decided you want to join the family." Liv is watching this play out, tears are naturally forming in her eyes. "I can't wait to meet you Little One."

"What do you want?" Liv asks. He's too wrapped up in kissing and caressing her stomach to let the question register. "Fitz…."

He looks up, "What?"

"What do you want? A boy or a girl," she asks.

"I don't care. As long as he or she is healthy with all ten fingers and all ten toes."

"As long as we don't get twenty fingers and twenty toes this time around," Liv chuckles.

"Well….," Fitz starts. "We have found out that I have super sperm to go along with my superpowers. It is possible."

"And I will have you fixed," Liv slaps him on the shoulder.

"Baby, I'm not a puppy," he laughs.

"You've been warned mister," she answers.

"You can't change what's been planted already," he smiles proudly.

"I can make sure you never water this hot pot again," she rebutts pointing to her core.

He laughs, "It's definitely a hot pot." He stops and marvels in her beauty and the reality that she's carrying his child again. "I love you so much. I should be giving you presents today and you just gave me the best gift."

"You are my special gift," Liv responds.

"How are you feeling? Do you need anything? Are you feeling okay?" He asks.

"Some nausea but nothing out of the ordinary. I am good. I am having a terrible craving right now," she says.

"What's that? We have a stocked fridge and a devilishly handsome and sexy man who is willing to cook for you," Fitz proposes.

"You said I can have whatever I want because it's my birthday," she reminds him.

"And you can," Fitz answers.

"I want to spend the rest of the day in bed with you being loved by you. I want to feel safe," She answers.

"I'll always keep you and our family safe," Fitz says as they begin to kiss and celebrate her birthday the way it was meant to be celebrated.
