It had been a few weeks since Ryan had been sentenced to life, and Kyle was doing great again. It was also Lillie's first birthday, and he wanted it to be special, nothing ever being able to ruin it for him again. He was in the garden with her, Heath and Harley, and Brax and Emilia all talking about their lives with kids now. They had started doing it often, much to the annoyance of Casey, who felt left out of the group, but he found a way to join them this time.
"Hey." He smiles as he walks out to sit with them.
"This is a father and kids only group." Heath says.
"Yeah?" Casey shrugs as sits down, using treats to get Bruno over to him. "I don't have a kid, so I'm using Bruno."
"Bruno is mine, so it doesn't count." Kyle says.
"Please!" Casey begs, hugging Bruno. "It's not fair, I don't have a kid."
"Fine, but don't complain when you don't understand some of the chats." Brax laughs.
"Okay." Casey nods with a smile.
"Such a sook." Heath laughs.
"So, what were you talking about?" Casey asks.
"Lillie's first birthday." Kyle says.
"It's today."
"Thank you for the reminder of my daughters birthday, Casey." Kyle shakes his head as they all laugh.
"Alright, then what about it?"
"I know things are going to be different from now on." Kyle says as he looks down at her. "Things finally feel great and I have a good feeling about life now." He says.
"Could you have bought her anymore toys though?" Casey smiles.
"I didn't get that many, did I?" Kyle frowns. "And that wasn't just me, it was the girls as well."
"Harley had more than that when he was one." Heath says. "Only cause I had no idea what he could do at that age. Least you've been sensible about the amount you've got her."
"Exactly, she prefers Bruno more than most toys anyway." Kyle shrugs.
"Who wouldn't?" Casey says, feeling like Brax was holding something back. "Are you okay?"
"I've got something to tell you boys, but it has to stay between us." Brax says.
"You've cheated on Ricky." Heath says.
"You really are stupid." Brax glares. "The other day she found out she's pregnant. She's already had a scan and everything's looking great."
"Congrats bro." They all smile.
"Yeah, good on you." Heath smiles. "It's been because of all that pressure on you both has it?"
"No, it's something that's just happened. We haven't been trying because Emilia still needs us a lot. By the time the new baby get's here it's going to be hard but we'll make it work. Ricky wanted to wait longer but we didn't get a choice in the matter when it just happened."
"So what was the pressure on you to have another one?" Kyle asks, Brax looking over at him. "Surely it's not a problem now you've got another one on the way. And you told me there's no secrets in this family."
"Alright, you got me there." Brax says. "We've both got fertility problems and the doc said it would be impossible to have more kids if we waited any longer. Turns out we didn't need them to help us."
"That's great then, means you're doing something right." Casey says. "It's basically fate that you've got one on the way."
"So come on then Case, when are you and Denny going to have kids?" Heath asks, glancing at Brax, which he notices.
"You know, don't you?" Casey moans, glaring at Kyle.
"I never told them!" Kyle quickly says, not knowing how they knew.
"We heard you telling Kyle in Angelo's." Brax smirks.
"Great, then you know that we're trying, but we don't mind when it happens for us." Casey says, briefly glancing down for a second. "I know it's going to be great when it does happen though." He grins.
"Yeah, the constant mood changes, food cravings, everything being your fault even if it can't be helped." Brax says.
"And that was all in one day, hey bro." Heath laughs.
"And Bianca was good during her pregnancy was she?" Brax asks.
"Well, she wasn't as bad as that but what do you expect?" Heath asks.
"Yeah, they married you two, so have Braxton attitudes now." Kyle smirks. "I didn't think Ricky was that bad."
"Only cause she kept it on me. And you know exactly what her food cravings were considering you gave into her a lot." Brax says.
"Have you ever been on the wrong side of Ricky?" Kyle asks. "Add pregnancy hormones and I would have been a dead man."
"Yeah, that is true." Casey nods, smiling as Lillie stares up at Kyle.
"Dada."
"Did she just say her first word?" Heath says, them all staring at her.
"I think she did." Brax nods, smiling at Kyle's shocked face.
"Dada." Lillie says again.
"You've done it bro." Brax proudly smiles as the girls come out to join them.
"Hey, Lillie just said her first word." Casey tells them.
"She did?" They exclaim, sitting next to their partners and Darcy sitting in between Heath and Kyle.
"What was it?" Bianca asks.
"Dada." Lillie says, still looking up at Kyle with a giggle.
"There's your answer." Kyle laughs, them all joining in.
"That's so cute!" Ricky smiles. "I can't wait for Emilia to say her first word." She smiles up at Brax.
"Congrats by the way Rick." Heath says.
"Let me guess, Brax told you all I'm pregnant." Ricky shakes her head.
"And I'm guessing you told the girls." Brax smirks. "So you can't complain about it being a secret when we all know."
"Yeah, you can have that one." She laughs.
As she glanced around everyone, she didn't even mind that they all knew early on in the pregnancy. She could see how happy they all were now things had got better. Kyle had placed Lillie on Darcy's lap for a cuddle, loving how close the kids were being so young themselves. Things were stronger within the family now they were all together again.
"Well since you've given some news, we've got some as well." Denny smiles up at Casey.
"Yeah, maybe it's a good time to say, just don't kill me." Casey smirks at his brothers.
"What's the news then?" Heath asks, getting a whack on the chest from Bianca for being too impatient.
"I'm pregnant." Denny smiles. "With twins."
"Twins!" Ricky and Bianca gasp.
"Imagine if one of them was a girl." Ricky smirks.
"That would make it equal between you all." Bianca says.
"Maybe me and Rick will get a pregnancy without sharing it with someone else." Brax jokes.
"At least it's not with me this time, not that it was the pregnancy anyway." Kyle says before turning to Heath and Bianca. "So is that room offer still there for me in a few months time?" He half jokes.
"Nah, offer's expired. Sorry bro." Heath grins.
"What about Lillie? Do you want two babies keeping her awake at night?"
"Nice try but it's not going to work." Heath chuckles.
"Tough luck Ky, just means you can help us when they wake up in the night." Casey smirks.
"Nope, I've had my time with Lillie. I can enjoy her quiet times now." Kyle smiles.
"You just wait until she's in her twos." Heath scoffs.
"She'll be fine. Just because you can't control Harley." Kyle frowns.
"I'm a good boy." Harley says as he stops playing with his toy train.
"You keep believing that little man." Heath says to his son.
"You're getting better aren't you, Harley." Bianca smiles at him.
"Yeah!" Harley grins.
"Yeah, I guess he is compared to a couple months ago." Heath agrees.
"Well I'm taking each day as it comes with Lillie." Kyle says. "I don't even mind what comes, I've got her and she's just as great as before." He smiles, loving every second he has with her now.
