Olivia changed into the clothes Fitz brought her from home. He was speaking with a nurse about the babies. Karen was with Maya getting dinner. Olivia hated having to choose between the babies and Karen. She decided to go home. Karen didn't need anymore disruptions. She was already getting used to their new house, and that would be difficult without Olivia there every day. Her doctor wanted her to stay home for eight weeks. He added an additional two weeks because of the infection. The babies would be home in four weeks.

Olivia didn't know how she would stay home after four weeks. What about her job? She would be up the creek without a paddle if she quit her job and Fitz left for another extended break. Olivia looked down at each of her babies. Blue, pink and yellow. Would they be okay without her for a whole month? Her boy was drinking out of a bottle now without puking up during a feeding. He was the oldest, but he was also the weakest. The girls were strong. They could keep a pacifier without spitting it out. Their personality was already showing. Pink demanded attention. Yellow was very mellow. She looked around a lot. Blue always wanted to be held. The girls had her eye shape with light brown eyes and brown hair. The boy had her eye shape with blue eyes and brown hair.

The nurse came to get the babies with Fitz a few minutes later. He didn't look happy.

"Are you okay?"

"I have to call my mom."

"Is your mom okay?"

"No, she called me a few hours ago. They found her sister in the lake. She's distraught."

"That's...very sad. You can go be with your mom. I'm okay."

"I'll only be there a few minutes. I need to make sure that's she's not overdoing the scotch."

"Okay, you can take me home. My mom is dropping Karen off at our house after dinner."

"The nurses will call me with the daily updates. I don't want you leaving the house for eight weeks. I'll video call you every day from the hospital. The babies will be home in four weeks."

"I have to go back to work before eight weeks."

"I can't let you go back to work Livvie. Not before your doctor approves."

"I need to work."

"You are working every day. Being a mom is your only job for now."

Olivia blinked and tears fell. She didn't want to lose her job. They would have this conversation again. She worked too hard to get that job, and she wanted to keep it. She might have to take pain pills every few hours in her office and excuse herself to vomit.

"Let's go home."

Olivia dried her eyes and followed Fitz to his car.
