Author's Notes: I have killed of Victoria, yes. I wanted a major death for the last few chapters (Yes, this is also coming to an end in the next 2-4 chapters) whilst also having time skips between each one from here on out, fleshing out what happens without making another story to finish the story that I think has gone on for as long as I want it to. It's not to say I have gotten bored of writing this, I just want to put it to bed now and the best way I can think of doing so is by having time skips between "Major" events until all the Windrunner Children are of the age to do what they want to do

That being said, I hope you enjoyed everything I have written and will write for the final few chapters. And I suppose if you've gotten this far you either have enjoyed the story, or you have a lot of patience to see this out.

A Couple Years Later

Athrodar stood on the beach outside Windrunner Village, watching a couple of ships sail passed Windrunner Spire and towards their usual fishing spots. This had been something he had done ever since Victoria's funeral in Stormwind. It was a huge affair with all the leaders of every race coming to the Capital to both pay their respects and to mourn the Queen they had all gotten to know, like and love as a good friend and ally.

After the funeral, nothing was said between Athrodar, Sylvanas or Tanadia when they all returned home. Tahnir had been allowed to take a few months off the Farstrider Academy to be with his family after the kidnapping by Dael'Thaelas and then the witnessing of his eldest sister being killed in front of his very eyes. Alleria was still not entirely understanding of what was happening, but she knew something was wrong when she could no longer see Victoria around, having Athrodar tell her the reality of the situation the best way he could without upsetting or confusing her.

As he stood on the beach, Athrodar closed his eyes and tried to distract himself from the memories of Victoria that flooded through his mind on a daily basis for the last two years. He wasn't ready to lose yet another friend or family, let alone someone he held so close to his heart, when it was both dormant and beating with life.

The only way he had managed to distract himself so far was when he had company or when he read the letters from Thal'ena who was on the council that now ruled Stormwind. Nobody wanted to take the role or Queen or King after Victoria, something that was enforced by the Royal Magister who made it her mission to make sure she was the last one to sit on the throne as Royalty.

He wouldn't be so lucky today, on the anniversary of her death, as Sylvanas had refused to leave their bedroom. She had taken the loss of Victoria harder than he did that she had hardly done anything since that day. She had spoken and cried into Vereesa's shoulder for hours when she visited shortly after the news of Victoria's death got out, as well as when their son, Talanas, was born. He was named after the first Ranger-General of Silvermoon and a great ancestor of the Windrunner family.

Tanadia returned to the Netherlight Temple a month after Victoria's death. She still visited home as much as she could whilst keeping up to date (and sometimes ahead) with her studies. She told her father and Sylvanas that she was studying hard to find a way to deal with fatal wounds quicker and better the moment they happen to reduce deaths. It was something Liadrin helped her with, though neither of them had made a breakthrough yet, but that didn't stop them from trying.

Days like this, when he was alone with his thoughts, were dark days for the former Prince of Death, King of Stormwind and Death Ranger, but they also passed time quickly. Some days they weren't so dark as he remembered the best times he had with his daughter. Her laugh was the one thing he remembered as clear as day. Her voice however, the sweet, soft voice she always had when she was with her family and not embarrassed or a little frustrated by the love her parents shared for each other, that was the first thing he had forgotten. Just knowing he wouldn't remember her voice again had sent him into a deep darkness for a few weeks until Thal'ena had visited and heard about Athrodar so the first thing she did was play a normal conversation she had had with the Queen about Stormwind's citizens.

That alone brought back so many memories for both Sylvanas and Athrodar, stirring out of their stupor for a good couple of months.

Lor'themar had visited them along with Halduron at least once every two weeks. Even Grand Magister Dawnstrider had visited when he heard about Victoria's death and consoling the grieving father by telling him all he had done to try and get over Thalina's death. Though they both came to the conclusion that it wouldn't fully help.

When night began to roll in, that was when Athrodar returned home and held onto his wife when he saw her cooking dinner for their children. Alleria, who was now nine, was helping her mother with the cooking whilst Cedani and Talanas were sitting at the table, both aged three and one years old. "It never gets easier." Athrodar whispered to his wife when he hugged her from behind.

"No it doesn't." She whispered back, looking down to Alleria who was stirring one of the pots and smiling at her. "Having our children around though does help."

Athrodar let go of Sylvanas and picked up Alleria who began to giggle, something that also reminded him of Victoria, but it didn't make him sad, only happy that a trait of her big sister had also been implanted into her. "You do make our worlds brighter, little one."

"Let me go, daddy!" Alleria cried, fighting to break free from Athrodar but not enough to injure him or herself, being placed back onto the ground whilst still giggling. "Thank you... Now I have to continue helping mommy with dinner."

"Okay, okay. I'll go sit with your brother and sister."

"At the children's table, yes. Good call." Sylvanas said, smiling back at Athrodar who laughed for the first time in a couple of weeks.

Once sat down, Athrodar watched Cedani try to take care of her younger brother Talanas by placing his cutlery down for him as well as the napkin placed down in front of him where his bowl would go. "They should all be coming back from Argus tomorrow, right?" Athrodar asked, looking over his shoulder at Sylvanas who had almost forgotten about that.

"Y-yes. They should be coming back then. The messenger they managed to send back said as much. Apparently they have a full explanation as to why a massive sword came crashing down into Silithus. It's apparently put all the cities into overdrive to try and deal with the aftermath." Sylvanas got out four bowl for everyone and then a separate fifth bowl for Talanas who was having something else for his dinner. "Thal'ena hasn't updated us in a while, but then again she is the head of Stormwind's Council so she is pretty busy as of late."

They all ate their dinner with Sylvanas taking Talanas and Cedani to bed whilst Athrodar sat by the fireplace with Alleria who slept on him shortly after her brother and sister were taken to bed. "Looking forward to seeing your sisters tomorrow?" He asked, looking over to Sylvanas who was standing in the doorway.

"Yes, very much." Sylvanas yawned and made her way over to Athrodar and their daughter, hugging her husband's arm and cuddling up to the other side of him whilst looking at their daughter. "She will get to meet the woman she was named after. I get to have my sister back and you get to see the woman you were almost paired with." Sylvanas kissed Athrodar on the cheek and closed her eyes. "I just wish Victoria was here to meet her."

Athrodar freed his arm from her grip, only to move it around her and hold her close to his chest, planting a kiss of his own on the top of her head. "So do I, my love. I think your sister would have loved her so much."

Sylvanas rubbed her arm as she sat on the armchair, looking at the front door for almost two hours now. She hadn't dressed in her ranger uniform like she told herself she would time and time again if this day was to ever come, instead she opted for something more casual and comfortable, especially since she hadn't done nearly as much exercise as she used to before she had fully retired. She done the occasional exercise to keep most of her shape, but she had to admit she did add on a little, with help from her pregnancy of Talanas.

"They should be here by now." She said, looking over to Athrodar who was sitting in the middle of the room with Cedani and Talanas, the older child making sure her brother was well looked after whilst they played together.

"They will be here." Athrodar told her, smiling at Cedani's actions as it made him even more confident that she will turn out how he predicted. Their only child not to be a ranger, but to be one that looked after her siblings as well as her parents. The anchor of the family that kept them all together as they would all rely on her and she would take the responsibility in her stride.

When there was a knock on the door, Athrodar looked over to his wife who had suddenly become frozen in her chair. "C-can you get that?" She asked, glancing over to Athrodar who chuckled and made his way to the door.

Opening it, he held up his hand when he saw Vereesa was about to speak. "False alarm, its just a neighbour asking to borrow something." He waved them all in, bowing his head to Alleria and Turalyon who were a little confused but Vereesa told them to go with it, knowing Athrodar was messing with her sister.

"Tell them to hurry up then... My sisters are coming by soon." Sylvanas yelled, folding her arms and trying to stop herself from sulking. She thought and hoped they would be the ones at the door and being told they weren't had upset her.

Athrodar nodded to Alleria and Turalyon, though the Paladin just smiled at her. "You go, she will want to see you more than me." He whispered, standing beside Vereesa, Athrodar and Rhonin as they watched Alleria slowly walk into the living room.

"What if I said they're already here?" Alleria asked, watching Sylvanas look over to her and begin to tear up. "My dearest sister, my Lady Moon... You haven't aged a day, though you look much more beautiful than I remember. You and our Little Moon."

Sylvanas stood up and hugged her older sister tightly. "I have missed you so much, Lady Sun."

Alleria pulled back and cupped her sister's face in her hands. "You have been through so much. Lost so much."

Sylvanas looked down in sadness, being hugged again by her sister and breaking down into a crying mess the second Alleria's arms went around her. "I have lost a lot of friends and family over the last few years... The L-L-Legion took most of them away."

"But you have gained over the years." Alleria told her, looking over to Cedani and Talanas who were playing together, then trying to find her namesake. "Where's my little clone?" She asked, looking down at her hand when Sylvanas took hold of it.

"I'll take you to her, then we will talk about everything."

Athrodar sat on the armchair in front of the fireplace in the middle of the night, fiddling with the sapphire necklace he gave Victoria the day he knew she was going to be their daughter.

"Still up?" Alleria asked, walking into the room she had spent most of her life in whenever she visited her parents. "I done the same thing shortly after Lirath died." She told him, looking at the necklace in his hand.

"I should have just gone in my own. I never should have brought them all with me." Athrodar told her, holding the necklace tightly in his hand. "She was... She was too good for us at times. The light when we were lost in the dark."

Alleria sat down on the couch beside him. "Sylvanas told me how she came into your lives, what you were like then." She looked saddened and knowing her sister was killed and brought back into undeath. "But she got the man she had been thinking about for decades finally, so I guess there was good in that evil."

Athrodar began to laugh when he remembered something he saw on Pandaria. "Did she ever tell you about us?"

Alleria raised an eyebrow at her brother in law. "Us?"

"Never mind." Athrodar said, looking back at the necklace. "Is she asleep?"

"For now. You know what she's like when she isn't holding or being held by someone." Alleria saw him smile and watched him stand up. "She thinks the world of you. Listening to her talk about you today reminded me of when she spoke about you before I left. You've given her this family and she is finally at the place our mother and I hoped she would be. Not alone and surrounded by loved ones."

Athrodar looked to his bedroom. "She has given me the same thing. Perhaps that's why we don't want to be away from each other."

"Also." Alleria said just before Athrodar entered his bedroom. "I would have been too much for you. Sylvanas is more your thing."

Athrodar chuckled and shook his head, knowing Sylvanas did in fact tell her that his great Grandfather had planned for him to marry Alleria first. "Perhaps you're right. Goodnight, Alleria."

"Goodnight, Athrodar."

Two weeks passed by since Alleria and Turalyon had arrived and the Windrunner sister had visited almost everywhere in Quel'Thalas. Her first stop was the Dead Scar going through the middle of the forest, feeling sickened by the taint in her once beautiful lands. Next was to the Farstrider Academy to pay a visit to Tahnir, being caught off guard when she saw how much he looked like his mother and smiling when he hugged her just as tightly as Sylvanas used to.

One thing that had changed since her last visit to her home forests, were the amount of guards patrolling around Windrunner Village. Especially since Victoria's death and the disbanding of the army and seizing of all the Sunblade assets, there have been a constant group of six guards outside Windrunner Manor, four guards outside the Spire and a ranger company that would change every three months, guarding the rest of the village.

She spent a lot of time with Sylvanas and Vereesa, who had decided to stay in the village for a while. She and Rhonin, along with their twins, took Elaria and Luna's house whilst Alleria and Turalyon took the spare bedroom in Windrunner Manor. At first Sylvanas and Athrodar thought it was a good idea, but after they heard that Alleria and Turalyon can't touch each other because of the Light and the Void within them fighting the second they get into contact.

"I feel bad for them." Sylvanas said, feeding Talanas and glancing over to Athrodar who was teaching their daughters Cedani and, because of Alleria coming home, little Alleria. It wasn't a name that would stick around for long, but whilst the eldest Windrunner was around, it would be a name that she was called. "To not be able to touch the one you love for the fear of hurting them."

Athrodar kissed the top of Cedani's head and then stroked little Alleria's. "I suppose that's something we're lucky to have." He said, glancing over to Sylvanas who smiled a little but then had her focus return to Talanas. "We have lost a lot, but we still have each other and what remains of our family."

"And gained two more." Sylvanas told him, stroking Talanas' cheek and smiling at him. "Three if you count this little guy."

"And lost our daughter and my mother as well as countless friends." Athrodar looked over to Alleria who took hold of his hand, already knowing by just talking about Victoria, that her father wasn't ready to talk about her sister and she wanted to comfort him. "How long are they staying here for? Did they say?"

"Alleria is visiting the Sunwell whilst Turalyon has gone back to the Exodar to talk to some of the Lightforged Draenei he brought back with him." Sylvanas finished feeding Talanas and picked him up, making her way over to Athrodar and their daughters. "She said she will be here another couple of days before following some lead she got on some more Void Elves or whatever it is they are calling this new race of elves these days. Somewhere north of here, but still in the Ghostlands."

Athrodar nodded and smiled when he saw Cedani yawn and rub her eyes. "Alright. Shame we couldn't have them around a little longer, I wanted to hear some of their stories from Turalyon, how they escaped Outland, how long they have been fighting the Legion." He picked up Cedani and began to carry her to her bedroom. "Tanadia should be home within the next week or two. She will miss them, but I suppose Turalyon might visit her in the Netherlight Temple."

When he came back, Sylvanas took hold of Athrodar's hand and pulled him towards her. "Come sit with me." She whispered, taking Talanas to bed whilst he was taking Cedani to bed and telling Alleria to go play in her room. "We need to talk." She saw a hint of fear in his eyes and placed a hand on his cheek. "It's nothing bad, believe me. We are fine and perfect."

"Then what are we talking about?" Athrodar asked, sitting down beside Sylvanas.

"Our first ever plan. The one we made together and promised we would do." Sylvanas looked down at his other hand and took hold of it too, squeezing them both and smiling a little. "Where we would run away and get away from everything." She looked back up to Athrodar who was just staring at her, saying nothing and expressing nothing on his face. "Where would we hide from the rest of the world, in some remote place and live off of what we can find."

Athrodar looked down at their hands and felt Sylvanas squeeze them again. "Why now?" He finally asked.

"Because this place has too many painful memories... My brother died here, my parents. Your mother and Victoria close by. Several of my closest rangers when the demons attacked." She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, trying to remain calm for the sake of the conversation. "I can't live here another year, my love. I want to leave and I want to do what we promised each other, which was to run away and disappear from the world. A place only those closest to us will ever know, who will promise to tell nobody of its location."

"Where do you have in mind?" Athrodar asked, glancing over to a head that looked around the corner of a wall before hiding the moment he locked eyes with them. "A place with a forest, or a jungle. Somewhere we can hunt for our food." He saw Sylvanas begin to think, smiling a little when the head popped around the corner again, noticing it was his sister-in-law, Alleria.

"I've been thinking Pandaria for some time now. We never got to explore it properly, it was a beautiful place and we saw their forests and how big those Pandaren were." She laughed a little when Athrodar laughed. "They were also really friendly. I can't see why not."

Athrodar glanced over to Alleria who was still eavesdropping in their conversation. "I think you should tell your sister of your plan. She seems really interested." He nodded over to Alleria who was now glaring at him for giving away her location.

Sylvanas looked behind her and towards her sister. "Alleria?"

There was a sigh before she showed herself to Sylvanas. "Yes, I'm here."

"What are you still doing up?" Sylvanas asked, standing up and making her way over to her sister.

"You know how it is. I'm alone in that bed, Turalyon is sleeping on a makeshift one, we can't touch each other and I miss holding onto someone." She shrugged her shoulders and looked at her sister. "I don't need to held onto someone to sleep, unlike you." She smirked at her sister who rolled her eyes. "But it would be nice everyone once in a while."

"Well... I don't hurt you and you don't hurt me when we touch. We could share a bed, just for the night. Like old times."

Alleria looked over to Athrodar who was pretending not to listen to them. "And what about your husband?"

"Trust me, she wouldn't want me in that bed with you." He leaned over and placed his hand on the couch, patting it lightly. "I have made use of this a good many times in the past when we've had guests over."

Both Sylvanas and Alleria looked at Athrodar for a few seconds before turning back to look at each other. "Where are you two going?" Alleria asked her sister. "I heard you talking about going to that new island you found, Pandaria or something."

"We.." Sylvanas let out a small laugh and looked over to Athrodar. "We had this dream, whilst we were still both undead." She smiled at Athrodar who smiled back at her. "We were sitting up on the ruins of Capital City, looking at the stars, when I suggested something that has always been on my mind ever since." She reached over and took hold of his hand. "I suppose we sort of have it here, but everyone knows we're here." Sylvanas looked back to her sister who was confused. "I wanted us to disappear and hide from the world. Our family and friends would know where we are, but nobody else, not even those who run cities, empires or anything similar. Just family and very, very close friends."

"When are you leaving?" Alleria now asked.

"I.. I don't know exactly." Sylvanas looked over to her daughter Alleria's room. "When Little Alleria is ten, which is soon, I think it will happen soon." She looked back over to Athrodar. "When she's chosen the Farstrider Academy or Stormwind Academy and has moved in to one of the barracks there with her new ranger friends, we will plan a date."

Alleria nodded her head slowly at her sister. "And who is going with you?"

Sylvanas smiled this time and placed her hand on the necklace she was wearing. "Athrodar and I, of course. Cedani and Talanas too, they will be far too young to leave behind. Granted, Tahnir is thirteen and Little Alleria is turning ten in a few weeks, but they will be in the Academies for most of the year and I'll talk to Thal'ena, a magister friend of ours in Stormwind's Council, to create a portal for them to come to us when they're on their holiday."

Alleria frowned a little, not hearing what she wanted to hear. "And what about your sisters?"

"Vereesa has Dalaran with Rhonin to help run and you and Turalyon have only just come back to Azeroth. I would have thought you would want to see how much the world has changed." Sylvanas tilted her head at her sister. "Unless... You want to join us?"

Alleria placed her hands on her sister's arms. "I have been away for a thousand years of my life, at times I cried myself to sleep because I thought I would never see you or Little Moon ever again." She closed her eyes when Sylvanas pull her in for a hug. "I have many years ahead of me to explore the world, to see how things have changed. I just want to be with my family now."

"And Vereesa?" Sylvanas asked, pulling back a little to look at her sister. "Turalyon too."

"Turalyon wants to help out in Stormwind. He heard about the Council and hopes his experience will help them with matters of war, should one ever come." Alleria looked over to Athrodar who was looking at Victoria's necklace, feeling sorry for the elf as he was still too hung up on the death of his daughter. Understandable all things considered, but he seemed to be more affected that Sylvanas at times. "And Vereesa has told me she wants this life you've got here. To be with her family and away from war."

Sylvanas smiled at her eldest sister. "Okay then. We'll all go to Pandaria as a big family, find a place to stay and hide from the world."

Alleria smiled back at her. "Deal."
