Chapter 74 - And So It Begins

It was an odd morning for Weiss. As she sat at her desk scrolling through her emails, none of which were from Fletch, she felt an odd mix of emotions rushing through her. The most prevalent one was easily anxiety. After almost seven months of hiding and secrecy, she and Yang were finally about to reveal their relationship to Jacques; and that meant that their relation was about to get a whole lot more complicated. Not only would they be followed everywhere by the press, but Yang was about to be exposed to what it was really like to be a Schnee. The expectations, the control, to whispers, the obligations; most of which were upheld by Jacques himself. And Weiss was really hoping it wouldn't scare the girl away.

Thankfully, the other emotion she was feeling was exhilaration, and very much for the same reason. Because after nearly seven months, they were about to reveal their relationship. As complicated as everything was, she was very much excited to be able to just show the world how in love she was. Though many would consider it boring, Weiss was really happy that before the day was out she would be able to cuddle up to Yang in the coffee shop. She also couldn't wait to take Yang to her first party, or just to be able to openly introduce her as her girlfriend. They were all rather small things, but they meant a lot to her.

Unfortunately, before they could do all that, they had to actually tell the man first and he hadn't exactly returned from Atlas in a good mood. In fact, his mood had been downright foul, and barely a word had been spoken at dinner for fear of interrupting his ranting about his trip. A wide range of topics had been covered, from his hearing to the state of Mantle, but eventually he had retired to his office and they had managed to at least enjoy their dessert. Sadly, despite having not yet left her room, Weiss was certain her father's mood would not have lifted just yet. But that didn't change anything.

They still had to do it today, there was no other option. Yet again, another frustrating aspect of being a Schnee tended to be that you were rarely ever on your own schedule. So even though it was certainly not ideal, it was better than letting him find out from another source. The only thing she needed now was Yang, who was supposed to arrive any minute. Even though they were about to come out, Weiss had still asked her to sneak in through the window as she had before, simply because there was a high likelihood that the staff would report an unknown visitor to the head of the house.

Sure enough, after only a few more minutes of checking her email, a small tap sounded from the window and Weiss turned to see her girlfriend standing on the balcony dressed in a white shirt and black pants. Though she was sure it wouldn't do much to sway Jacques, Weiss definitely appreciated that the girl had not gone with her crop top and short shorts; not that Weiss didn't like those either.

"Hey." Yang grinned as she walked in and shut the door behind her. "So today's the day, huh?"

"Yes." Weiss breathed, closing her laptop and standing to be pulled into a hug. "Though I have no idea how you are smiling like that."

"Because in less than an hour, I'll be able to kiss you wherever I please." Yang hummed happily.

"In less than an hour, you will have a target painted on your back." Weiss scowled. "Are you not at all nervous?"

"Of course I am." Yang groaned, letting her hand fall to Weiss' waist. "But I'm gonna have a target on my back anyway, whether we come out today or next year. All doing it today means is that we get to enjoy ourselves sooner."

Letting out a loud sigh, Weiss wrapped her hands around the back of her girlfriend's neck and fiddled with the wild mane of gold hair. "I suppose you're right." She grumbled.

"Aren't I always?"

"Rarely."

A small, playful gasp escaped the blonde and unable to contain herself, Weiss smiled up at the bright brawler; though did add a small roll of her eyes. Reaching up on her toes, she pressed her lips against Yang and happily melted into the woman. As they enjoyed the moment, Weiss couldn't help but feel a little bit of sadness. Despite there being bigger and better things in their future, it was their final makeout session in secret. It didn't last long however, as Yang was quick to pull away and let out a happy hum.

"You know," She said in a mischievous voice. "The last time I was here, we didn't get to break in your bed. We could postpone for half an hour and have one last secret romp in the sheets."

With a chuckle, Weiss tapped the girl on the chest and pulled away to grab her jacket.

"I have college straight after we talk to him." She said, throwing a smug look over her shoulder. "Another time."

"I will hold you to that."

"I very much expect you to." Weiss grinned and slipped her jacket on. Once it was on, she held out her hand. "Now then, shall we go piss off my father."

"Mmm." Yang grinned, taking the offered hand and leaning in close for another swift kiss. "You swearing just makes me want you more, but definitely."

Raising her hand and taking the back of Yang's neck, she pulled the girl in for one last kiss. Basking in the sensation and warmth of what she knew was her future, she steeled her confidence and pulled away, giving the woman she loved a short look and a nervous nod before slowly leading her out of the room and into the hallway.

Yang had only been nervous when she had first arrived. After all, she was about to be happier than she had in a long time. However, as she paced along a small T-shaped hallway underneath the grand staircase of the mansion, she couldn't help but raise her hand to scratch her head. It had been one thing to simply imagine telling Jacques and wearing a smug look on her face as she did so, but it was another thing altogether to actually do it. Hell, she wasn't even sure she could manage a smug grin anymore.

One thing she was sure of though was that they could no longer turn back. Numerous members of staff had already seen them make their way to the office hand-in-hand, many of them had even watched as they walked by. It had been both exhilarating and awkward. As much as she loved being seen with Weiss, it was her first real experience of just what it would be like to be seen in public together. Though it didn't change anything, it definitely felt a little weird having people look at her so intently.

Thankfully, it hadn't taken them very long to get to the hallway, and the heiress had quickly entered the room after telling her that she needed to discuss the trip to Mistral with the man first, and that she wouldn't be long. That had been twenty minutes ago, and unfortunately, with the door shut Yang was unable to hear any of the voices from inside; even when she pressed her ear against it. So, the only thing Yang could do was wait while Weiss finished her conversation with her father.

"You look nervous." The amused voice caught Yang off guard, and she turned around to see Whitely leaning against the far wall with a smirk on his face. "You're tracking a desire line in our carpet."

"A what?" Yang scowled at him, only to shake her head at him. "Nevermind. What do you want?"

"Nothing." He said with a shrug. "I just came to enjoy the show. It's not everyday that something this exciting happens around-"

"Whitley." A second, unfamiliar female voice interrupted from one of the doors that led into the hallway. "You should be getting ready for school."

The boy's face fell a little, the humor immediately fading to a more serious expression as he pushed himself away from the wall. "Good luck, Xiao Long."

Taking off around the corner and out of sight, Yang followed him to see who the voice belonged to only to find herself face to face with Weiss' mom. Just like the last time she had seen the woman, the resemblance she bared to her daughter was uncanny, but there was definitely a little more softness to her features than last time. Her eyes no longer seemed to be struggling as much to stay focused, and the lines on her face seemed a little shallower.

"I apologise for my son." The woman smiled kindly. "He's picked up some bad habits over the years."

"He's fine." Yang replied, feeling the need to defend the boy a little. Sure he could be an ass, but he wasn't all bad. "Just young."

Meeting the woman's eyes, which were so like Weiss', Yang suddenly realised how her being in the house would look. She and Weiss had decided that Willow wasn't to know until after Jacques did so that she would be protected from his wrath, but Yang really couldn't think of a plausible excuse as to why she would be waiting outside Jacques office.

"That's kind of you to say, Yang."

"Wh-What?" Yang once again found herself caught off guard. "How do you know my name?"

"It was on your nametag the last time we spoke." The woman chuckled lightly, the simple action making her appear much younger. "Forgive my deceit. I only wished to get a glimpse at the woman who has brought life back to my daughter's music."

"I…" Yang tried rapidly to think of a way to deny it, but immediately knew it was useless. "How long have you known?"

"A while." Willow smiled. "Since what I believe was your first visit to our famil…" She cut off as if there was a lump in her throat. "This manor."

Thinking back to that day, Yang couldn't think of any moment where Willow could have seen them. They had only been spotted once on the way to the music room, and that person had been quickly dealt with by Whitley. There was no other time where someone could have seen them since the only thing they had done that day was play the piano with the door closed. Except that wasn't quite true.

"The music door?" Yang whispered as the realisation dawned on her. "You're the one who opened it?"

"It had been so long since I heard my Weiss play." Willow said in a fond tone. "I've taken every chance I can to listen since she started playing again. I certainly didn't mean to intrude on a private moment."

"You didn't." She said quickly, not wanting Weiss' mom to feel she had done something wrong.

"Good, good." She said with a small nod. "So I assume that you are here to tell him?"

"Yeah." Yang grimaced. "Any advice for me?"

"Do it quickly and leave." Willow replied in a darker tone. "It's best not to stay around that man longer than necessary."

The elder Schnee's eyes filled with venom as she looked at the corner that led to her husband's office, and though Yang was tempted to ask why she had stayed with a man she so clearly hated, so knew it was not her place to ask such a thing. So instead, she simply gave the woman an understanding smile.

"I didn't intend to."

"Good." Willow breathed. "But I must go and see that breakfast is finished early. I would prefer my son be out of the house by the time you two are finished with your business."

"Gotch… I mean, I understand." The woman merely smiled and gave her a nod.

"Good luck, Yang." She said as she turned around and pushed open the door she and Whitley had come through. "And please be careful of my husband."

Giving the woman a nod as she left, Yang leaned against the wall and let out a low breath. Whitley, Willow, her friends; she was quickly beginning to realise that her and Weiss had not been as sneaky as they thought. It seemed that many people close to them had figured out ages ago, and the reporters in Mistral were already knocking on the right door with their predictions. What if Jacques had in fact found out already? Yang knew the man liked to play a slow game since Winter had said it had taken a while for him to make a move against Roman, so what if he was just waiting.

No, she shook her head. The only people who had figured it out properly were those who were close to them. As dysfunctional as Weiss' family were, Whitley and Willow did care about Weiss and both had been paying more attention to her as of late. Yang knew her friends also generally knew everything about her too, so it wasn't too surprising that they had picked up on something. But Jacques definitely did not care for Weiss and never really paid attention to anything in her life that didn't involve the company.

Besides, from the way Weiss talked about him, she was sure something would have happened already had he known about them. Maybe the man wouldn't have done a big opening move, but he surely would have taken advantage of being able to operate without them knowing he knew. But since nothing had happened, Yang felt comfortable enough to relax in the knowledge that he likely didn't have any idea about their relationship.

That moment of confidence quickly faded however as, little more than a minute later the door handle was pulled down and the large wooden slab was pulled back slightly. Seeing Weiss head poke out with a worried expression, she raised an eyebrow questioning. A shiver ran through her, but she gave her girlfriend a firm nod. Taking one last breath and accepting that her life was about to change drastically, she pushed herself off the wall, straightened her shirt, and made her way to the door.

The first thing she noticed as she walked into the spacious office was just how cold it was compared to the hallway. To say she felt like she had somehow been teleported to Argus would be a bit of an exaggeration, but not by much. Her arms instantly covered themselves in goosebumps and the small hairs stood on end in an attempt to keep her warm. The second thing she noticed that the room was not decorated how she would have imagined.

As opposed to the rest of the house, the room actually had a lot of warmer colours. The floor was made of a nice dark wood with a soft blue rug draped over it. A glass table sat in between two black couches. Bookcases lined the walls, each reaching so high that a ladder was attached to them in order to reach the higher shelves. Shelves that were filled to the brim with books, with one exception. A single shelf was completely clear of anything but four picture frames. Though she couldn't see what was in three of them due to them all facing towards Jacques' desk, there was one that was turned around and revealed a slightly younger Winter Schnee.

But Winter's face was not the only one she could see. Sat behind his desk, made of the same material as the floor, was Jacques' Schnee. Though Yang had seen him in pictures, none of them conveys just how big of a presence the man held. Even though he was merely sitting there, his eyes cold as ice as he peered over his tented fingers at them both, she felt a shiver run up her spine. His gaze was so intense in fact that despite hating the man, she was still tempted to straighten her clothes again.

"Father." Yang could hear the nerves in her girlfriend's voice. "I would like you to meet Yang Xiao Long."

They looked at each other for a second, Weiss' eyes gaining confidence. As the woman turned back to the vile man behind the desk, Yang felt a hand slip into hers and saw Jacques eyebrow raise.

"My girlfriend." Weiss concluded.

Silence filled the office as Weiss finished her declaration, and Yang was unable to tell what the man was thinking. His eyes were still as icy as when she had first entered, but kept flicking between the two of them and their joined hands. Feeling Weiss begin to squirm a little, Yang tightened her grip on the girl's hand to reassure her.

"I know thi-"

Weiss was cut off as the man's fingers raised sharply. Raising his head, the man sat up straight in his chair and glared at them both. A hand came up to smooth out his walrus moustache before he shook his head.

"I do not have time for your passing fancies today, Daughter." He said in a dull voice. "Did we not just discuss how busy I am fixing the mess you have caused in Mistral?"

"I understand you are unhappy that I did as the shareholders asked," Weiss said with a slightly furrowed brow. "But I assure you that this is not a passing fancy. We have been together for seven months now."

"And you chose today of all days to bring this to me?" He growled standing up from his chair. "The day after I return from cleaning up one mess, only to discover that another had been laid at my feet."

"My apologies, Father." Yang knew how hard it must be for the girl to address him that way.

"I do not want your apologies!" The man snapped. "I want you to focus on your work, now more than ever. Yet from the very moment I handed you more responsibility within the company, you have been distracted with this… woman." A pained look crossed his face as he said it. "Maybe this is why your work has been so sloppy as of late."

"With all do respect, Father." Weiss countered. "I have done everything you have asked of me. My relationship with Yang has never taken priority over my work."

"It's true." Yang added with a nod, finally finding her voice. "Even when we are together, your daughter is working."

"And what would you know of her work?" The man sneered making it clear he thought she was beneath him. "Are you the heiress to a world renowned company?"

Yang was about to reply, but she felt Weiss' hand grip hers tightly and saw the woman give her a warning glance out the corner of her eye. Willing to obey her girlfriend as she knew retorting would only make the situation worse, Yang settled for giving him a dirty look.

"I thought not." He said dryly. "What do you even do for a living?"

"I'm a waitress." Yang replied without shame, earning a snort of derision.

"That is hardly important, Father." Weiss answered him heatedly. "What matters is that we love each other." The man scoffed derisively. "And that my relationship has not interfered with my work, which it has not."

"Enough." Jacques said dully and sat down at his desk again. "I am tired of your insolence, and I do not have time for your nonsense today, Daughter. There is work to be done, so we shall have this discussion another time. Now leave my office before you disappoint me even more than you have."

Turning to Weiss, Yang saw the girl give the man a nod. "Understood, Father."

Wasting no time at all, Weiss turned on the spot and pulled Yang towards the door. Before being pulled through it, Yang dared to look back at the man, and saw a vicious sneer stretched across his face. Just as Weiss had feared, the man was definitely not happy, and Yang knew he would definitely be plotting his next move the second the door closed behind them.

As soon as it did though, Weiss let out a low sigh and slumped against her slightly. She looked exhausted, so Yang wrapped an arm around her shoulder and pressed a kiss against the side of her head.

"Well that went better than I thought it would." She hummed quietly. "He's more of a dick than I thought though."

"That went horribly." Weiss groaned. "But I expected it too. That conversation is definitely not going to be a pleasant one."

"Is any conversation with him pleasant?"

"Good point."

With a shake of her head, Weiss pulled away and led them back down the hall and out into the entryway, but Yang didn't like how the girl looked. They had finally told him, they were finally free to be as open as they pleased, and Weiss should have at least been happy about that. So, without a single care of any of the staff that were looking at them and wanting to remind her girlfriend of what they had just done, Yang planted her feet and pulled her arm back, causing Weiss to spin and land in her arms.

"Hey." She smiled down at her with confidence. "We're free to do as we want now. Whatever he does to try and stop us, well fight him, but that's all in the future. Can we just enjoy this moment?"

While the woman still had a frown on her face, it was slowly fading as she melted into her body, the thin arms wrapping around her waist.

"You're right." She breathed. "I'm sorry."

"It's fine." Yang replied, reaching up to push a small strand of hair behind Weiss' ear. "Just relax for now, okay? We can't really do anything except wait until he makes his first move now anyway."

"I know." Weiss hummed quietly. "But you have figured out how to make sure this gets out right?"

"Yup." Yang beamed brightly. "Me and Blake came up with it last night. But you're just gonna have to trust me."

"Hmm, usually I would trust you with my life, but a plan by you and Blake worries me."

Chuckling a little, Yang leaned down and pressed and lingering kiss against the woman's lips. Despite hearing a small eep from one of the staff, they remained as they were and enjoyed the open display of affection for a few seconds. Eventually though, Weiss broke the kiss and placed her hands on her hips. A grin formed on her lips as she looked shyly around at the workers.

"I was joking."

"I'm aware." Yang laughed and let her go. "But you said you need to get to college, right?"

"Mhm. I finish at two, so we can meet at Blake's store if you want?"

"Absolutely," Yang lied with a convincing smile. "I have a few things to take care of anyway."

"Alright." Weiss hummed, leaned up to place another kiss on her lips. "You can leave out of the front gate now, if you want."

"Hmmm." Yang grinned. "I think for old times sake, I will leave through your window one last time.

"You're just saying that to get back into my room."

"Of course I am." Yang smirked. "So lead the way, Snowflake. Your house still confuses the fuck outta me."

With a roll of her eyes and a shake of her head, Weiss flashed her an amused smirk and turned towards the stair. Holding their heads up proudly, Yang let her girlfriend guide her back through the house and to her room. As nerve wracking as it had felt to tell Jacques, she definitely couldn't deny that she felt more excitement for the future. All that was left to do was get it into the public so that Jacques couldn't quash it.

Weiss hated that time always seemed to slow to a crawl whenever she had something to look forward to. Normally she would have work to do, but in her excitement she had accidentally finished the assignment for her final class a whole twenty minutes early and wasn't the kind of person to leave class before the allotted time.

The morning had been both a good and bad one. One one hand, the meeting with Jacques could not have gone worse. Of course she knew it wasn't the best time to tell him, but it was the only time. She had never expected the man to yell, not in front of a stranger anyway, but she had certainly expected him to remain a little more quiet as she explained. Instead he had been rather vocal and ushered them out of his office before she could really say much. No doubt so that he could get a head start on planning his next move. How long it would take him to enact that move, she had no idea. But she knew his opening one would be strong.

On the other hand though, she no longer had to hide her relationship. They were now completely in the open about everything and she no longer had to hold back. If she wanted to wisk Yang away to Vacuo so they could relax on the beach, she could. If she wanted to fly them back to Mistral and attend a play, she could. But of course they were both much too busy for that anyway. But the fact she could now openly show how much she loved her girlfriend was good enough for her, and the reason as to why she was so eager for the bell to ring; so that she could meet the woman she loved at the place they met.

Thankfully though, it didn't take much longer to the class to finish, and five minutes later Weiss was walking out of the classroom and through the hallway. She wasn't sure if it was just because she was happy, or because the world wanted to celebrate said happiness, but the sun felt like it was shining just a little brighter. As she walked along the courtyard, she couldn't help the smile that way pulling on her face and earning her funny looks from her classmates due to her usually rather serious attitude.

As she reached the gate that led into the parking lot however, her smile faltered a little. Lined up by the edge were five vans, each marked with the name of a different tabloid magazine. They were really not who she wanted to deal with on a day where she was happy, but despite the clicking of their camera's reaching hers, she let out a breath of relief that they seemed to at least be staying in their vehicles. Not wanting to hang around too long and risk them feeling bold enough to get out, she pulled her eyes away and looked for where Hazel had parked; only to be met with a sight she had definitely not expected.

Sat in one of the empty parking spots, leaning against a bright yellow and balke motorcycle, was her girlfriend. Her golden hair shined brilliantly in the bright sun against the yellow leather jacket that Weiss had bought her for christmas. It looked good on her, more than good in fact. Despite being thick leather, her arms filled it out wonderfully and showed off just how powerful her body was, and the muted yellow helpt her lavender eyes shine even more. Clearly the woman knew how good she looked, because her arms were folded and a smug grin was plastered on her face. Weiss could hardly disagree though, as the image before her was more than enough to make her heart beat faster.

Giving the girl a quizzical look, she walked over; feeling the smile on her face beginning to return at the knowledge she was doing it so openly.

"What are you doing here?" Weiss asked when she was in earshot, her grin already reaching ear to ear.

"Well," Yang smirked and unfolded her arms to plant them on her bike. "I did say I had a plan, and what is a better way than to get us out into the open than inviting every gossip mag for a show in front of all of your classmates and their social media accounts?"

"I knew I should be worried?" Weiss laughed at how incredibly Yang the plan was. Big and loud, just how the woman liked things.

"He can't buy off everyone if they all think someone else will print it." Yang shrugged happily. "They'll all want to be ahead on the story."

"Hmm." Weiss hummed thoughtfully. "That sound reasoning I guess. I'm guessing that part was Blake's idea?"

"She made sense of my stupidity, yes." Yang admitted unashamedly. "It's why we work well together."

Shaking her head, Weiss walked forward a little and ran a hand along the deathtrap her girlfriend was standing against. It definitely looked better than the last time she had seen it. The frame was no longer grey and barebones, but a bright yellow and black with a full body that felt sturdy.

"Hence why I was scared."

Yang laughed again, and moved her hand over to where Weiss was caressing the bike. Entwining their finger, Weiss felt a sense of exhilaration run through her at the fact they were doing it in front of so many reporters.

"Are we really about to do this?" She breathed nervously, still struggling to believe that the moment was finally upon them. "Things will never be the same for you."

"I'm ready whenever you are." Yang said clearly and confidently, her lilac eyes lighting up and her lips twisting into a smile that was begging Weiss to kiss her. "No matter what happens, it will be worth it so long as I have you."

Weiss couldn't help but blush a little, and giving the reporters a tiny glance, she moved in closer and felt Yang's arm wrap lovingly around her waist. Almost immediately the sound of pictures being taken sped up.

"I love you, Yang Xiao Long." She breathed happily, her heart beating so fast she could feel it in her throat.

Weiss didn't need to hear Yang say it back. She knew for certain the woman felt the same. So before the blonde could say anything, Weiss raised a hand to Yang cheek and finally closed the distance between them. The second their lips pressed together, her eyes closed and everything around her was lost.

There were no longer any reporters, no longer any cars or classmates. No longer any doubts or worries about their future and what Jacques would do to them. There was only her and Yang. Her entire body tingled with happiness as she felt Yang eagerly press into the kiss, the strong arm on her back pulled her in so that the boxer's natural warmth filled the air around them. In a word, it was bliss. A blissful moment then she wished would last forever.

Sadly it couldn't, and though it had felt like hours, Weiss knew it had only been roughly a minute when they finally pulled away. Very quickly the sound of cameras snapping pictures came back to her, but she no longer cared. Let them take as many pictures as they liked, for at least they would be capturing a moment where she was truly happy.

"I bet I loved that show more than they did." Yang grinned. "I bet they are pretty pressed that they didn't get to take part in it."

"You are really going to ruin this moment with a pun?"

"You love puns." Yang pouted. "And I spent all night thinking that one up."

"That one took you all night?" Weiss teased with a raised eyebrow.

"We don't all pun-tificate."

A loud laugh tore from Weiss' throat as she shook her head.

"Okay, that one was a lot better."

"That's because I was actually up all night figuring out that one and how to make you fall for it."

Chuckling happily at how much thought Yang had put into something so stupid just to make her laugh, she pressed back in and met her lips again. It was a much shorter kiss, and didn't create the same kind of euphoria as the last time, but it still felt divine.

"It was definitely worth it." Yang grinned. "I love you too, by the way."

"I know." Weiss hummed happily.

"Good." Yang's grinned turned mischievous. "Because I am potentially about to make you hate me."

"How so?" Weiss scowled suspiciously.

In response, Yang released her hand and reached down to the tail of the bike. Popping it up, she pulled out a large white object with delicately painted blue snowflakes. Once it was settled on the seat, Weiss saw that it was a motorcycle and knew immediately what Yang was getting at.

"Oh no!"

"Oh yes!"

"No!"

"Come on." Yang chuckled. "You don't trust me for one little bike ride?"

"I trust you plenty." Weiss countered. "What I don't trust is that death trap."

"Death trap? She passed every test with flying colours and is fully insured."

"I doubt every other car did though."

Yang pouted slightly, but Weiss knew it was only for effect.

"Hazel is just around the corner." She said after a few seconds. "You can call him and he'll come and pick you up. But…" She picked up the helmet. "I didn't wear the jacket on the way here because I wanted the first time I wore it to be on a ride with you."

With Yang's confession of how much it meant to her, Weiss looked down at the Helmet and the bike. They both looked very strong and secure, but Weiss couldn't help but feel a little anxious. She had never been fond of motorcycles, always preferring to be safe and secure inside a car instead; but she knew how much the contraption meant to Yang. And clearly the first proper ride meant a lot too. Not wanting to let her girlfriend's dream die without at least giving it an attempt, Weiss let out a short breath and reached out to put a hand on the helmet.

"If I tell you to stop and pull over-"

"I will pull over the second I have a chance." Yang said immediately. "And Hazel will be following us all the way."

"Alright then." Weiss groaned nervously and took the helmet from her girlfriend. "Just please drive slowly."

"Of course." Yang nodded quickly.

Giving her girlfriend another suspicious look, she pulled the helmet over her head, the thick foam blocking out the noise of the cameras, and secured the straps tightly. Shaking her head slightly to make sure it was on properly, she looked at her girlfriend and saw her grinning.

"This better not mess up my hair." She scowled as Yang moved to straddle the bike and slip her own bright yellow helmet over her head.

"Oh it definitely will." Yang laughed and offered out her hand. Weiss accepted it and begrudgingly let herself be pulled onto the back of the bike. "Hold on tight, and just tap my leg if you want me to stop, okay."

Feeling her nerves spike, Weiss gave the girl a nod as they exchanged a look in the mirror. Clearly not wanting Weiss to change her mind, Yang twisted the key and kicked the bike to life. As soon as the machine let out a roar and began to vibrate, Weiss collapsed into her girlfriend and wrapped her arms tightly around her waist.

"Ready?" Yang shouted.

Taking a deep breath, and not wanting to chicken out before they even moved, Weiss nodded into the woman's back. Before Yang kicked up the stand, Weiss took one last look around the parking lot and saw that both students and reporters alike were indeed taking pictures.

Yang was right, there was no way her father would be able to stop this from getting out. And that thought made her exceptionally happy.

As quickly as that thought entered her mind though, it was wiped away as the bike lurched forward and her eyes squeezed shut as they began to move. And there was no doubt in her mind that they would remain shut for however long she stayed on the hellish machine.

Small Update

So I know I have a few How It Feels reader here, so if you read the update there then you can skip this.

However, if this is the only fic of mine you read, I just wanted to inform you that I will be skipping the next upload. Instead of the next chapter going up on the 24th of December, it will instead go up on the 7th of January. I'm sorry that this is such short notice, I just simply want to take the holidays off to relax as having two series reach their final arcs at the same time has been stressful to say the least, which has in turn cause a few of my health issues to kick off again :/

So yeah, there will be no upload on the 24th.

A/N

Hello everyone :D

So... They are finally out and in the open. I wonder what will happen now :P

In all seriousness though, now begins the final part of the story, and sadly, that means my notes are going to be a little shorter in general because I really do not want to accidentally give something away, so sorry if my notes from here on out feel a little impersonal :/ I really don't intend them to be, but I don't want to risk slipping up.

However, I really do hope you enjoyed this, and are eager to see what comes next year. That's all from me, please have a good holiday, and I will see you after my break :)

Chapter 75 - A Moment to Celebrate will be up on the 7th of January.
