LuciTheFangirl: I am sooo happy to hear that! As for Thexan dying ... We will see what happens. Not gonna spoil anything :P

Chapter 167

Laetitia was in her room with Ahsoka, who was preparing her for the 'big day'. She was actually more excited than Leah, if that was possible. Maybe that was her way of showing that she was truly happy for her friend's happiness.

"Come on." Ahsoka said as she clapped her hands to encourage Leah, but it had the opposite effect.

"No! No more practice speeches. I think we've done enough."

"You need to be ready for this."

"What's the point? Technically, we're already husband and wife. Thexan and I have already said our vows when we were alone. He just wants to do it in front of people to kinda make it official, and ... cheer 'em up, I guess." She stated.

She was so against having a big marriage. She was the Leader of the Rebellion. She wanted her people to be happy, but she still had an image to protect. And she didn't want everyone to see that side of her. She could understand why everyone wanted to use a happy occasion like her wedding, but ... that didn't mean she wasn't having feelings about it.

"Come on." Ahsoka repeated herself as she handed Leah a glass of wine, but Leah refused.

"I'm fine."

"Are you? You seem a bit ... pale." She seriously asked.

"Yeah. I've just been feeling a bit nauseous and dizzy lately. It's probably food poisoning or something." She quietly said as she looked down.

Ahsoka didn't say anything and just stayed quiet. She didn't want to add to her anxiety. She already knew about the vision and had a long conversation about it with Leah. She suggested a few things, but none of them mattered as long as Thexan wasn't onboard.

"Look, can we just get to … whatever it is you want to get into? I'd like to get some rest on my last day as a single woman." Leah tiredly suggested.

"Okay. This is the last one. I promise."

"Sure."

"To a Nabooian mother ..." Ahsoka started and immediately grabbed Leah's attention.

She didn't need to think who 'the Nabooian mother' was. Her own mother ... Padme. Who else?

"... Who I considered like my own mother. She was strong. She was loving. She married a Skywalker and gave birth to two more. That is something she'll always be held accountable for." She said, chuckling.

Leah couldn't help but laugh with her as she had tears in her eyes.

"Not only did she make this Galaxy a better place, but she raised an incredible, strong and kind daughter ... who is my sister, no matter what happens ... To Padme Amidala Skywalker. May she rest among the stars."

Leah had to admit, that was the only practice speech that she was interested in. She raised her glass with her, but put it down slowly. She couldn't bring herself to drink it. She just stared at the glass in her hand while tears fell down from her eyes.

She missed her mother now more than ever ... And her father. She couldn't imagine what that would be like, though.

"God, I miss her." She cried out quietly.

"Yeah." Ahsoka breathed out in agreement.

"I can't believe she's not gonna be here. Not that I ever imagined my wedding day, but ... I always thought that if it happened, she'd be there for me … giving me marital advice ... Both of them. He won't be there on his own daughter's wedding day." She bitterly stated.

Ahsoka knew exactly where she was coming from. That was exactly how she felt on her own wedding day. She wanted Anakin and Padme so much, but ... they couldn't be there.

"Yeah, but a lot other will be. Han, Luke, Chewie, BB-8, 3PO, R2, Rex, Mon Mothma, Lux, Mina, me." She named the people Leah cared about.

"We will all be there for you and Thexan, because we are your family. Family isn't the people you share blood with. It's the people you grow up with, the people who love you and you love back … The people you feel comfortable with. I know you wanted them to be here, and I'm sorry they won't be."

Leah just sighed as she wiped the tears off her face. She was right ... but it was still a bit awkward to hear that.

"Is 3PO really gonna be in the wedding?" She suddenly asked, which caused Ahsoka to laugh in response.

"Don't worry. We can easily throw him out of the Base."

"I think we'll have to."

The next day arrived very fast. Or at least, that's how everyone felt. It was sort of a big day with a lot of events in it.

Laetitia and Thexan's wedding, preparations of the Hoth Base, the party.

It wasn't a very big wedding, but Rebels could come and watch if they were in the Base. Leah was very opposed to the idea of having a public wedding. If it was up to her, she and Thexan would just exchange their vows alone and be married. Just like they had. But that wasn't enough for everyone else.

Mon Mothma said that 'they needed a cause for celebration'. And Thexan agreed with her, much to Leah's disappointment. But to her excitement, she didn't have to wear a wedding dress. Her usual attire was enough for both of them because they didn't care.

Han was standing in front of Thexan and Laetitia, who were facing each other and holding hands. They decided that he would be the one to 'marry' them. Leah wasn't sure what she was thinking at the moment she said that.

"You may sit." He awkwardly ordered everyone.

Leah hid her smile. The way he said it was like he was talking to Stormtroopers. He just groaned loudly in desperation.

"Okay! I'm just gonna say that this ain't gonna be one of those long, drawn-out, tearful affair y'all are used to, alright? This is gonna be a short wedding. Leah and Thexan will give each other their rings and re-say their already-said vows, so we can all hit the bar ... Okay?" He asked, not that he was actually expected a response.

Thexan shook his head, chuckling. Luke was just glaring his brother in the amount of ridiculousness he possessed!

"If anyone here has any reason to believe why these two knuckleheads should not be married, keep it to yourself, or get out! Because this IS happening!" He strongly stated, chuckles following.

"Let me just say my piece. I first met Laetitia Skywalker when she was a … pain-in-the-ass, moralistic amnesia little girl."

Leah cleared her throat to his compliment ... or insult? She wasn't sure.

"Language, Han. Kids present." She muttered for him to hear her.

"Hey! No interruption! ... In the 16 years I've known her, she's evolved into a pain-in-the-ass, moralistic High General." He said, chuckling as the others followed.

Leah shook her head. She chose Han because he was less awkward, but she didn't expect him to be this ...

"I'd say she's my best friend, but in fact, she's my only true friend that has stood by my side no matter what I've done. She is my family, my sister that I absolutely love." He softly said.

Leah looked at him and could see the emotional tears in his eyes. She was also sure that she had the same tears in her own eyes. They just gave each other a moment and smiled.

"Okay! No emotional tears. Sorry about that." He said as he cleared his throat.

"Onto Thexan. Well … he's always had her back. They first met when he literally scarred her for life. You can see it on her face." He said as he pointed at his own face.

Leah and Thexan both gave him a look. Was he seriously talking about that right now?

"When they first saw each other again, she held him captive for 6 months. She was then imprisoned and tortured by his psycho brother."

"Han!" Leah hissed.

"But that's love!" He cleaned his mess with 4 words.

"And I will say that if there is one beautiful thing that's happened in all the crappy years we've had ... it's that these two Force-wielding maniacs found their way to each other. And that truly is a beautiful thing." He quietly said in amazement.

Leah didn't know to be grateful or 'punch-ful' to him. She just smiled. That was so like him.

"I'm gonna shut up now. Give each other a ring. I need a drink."

"Subtle, Han." Thexan muttered.

"Did you expect anything else?" Leah mused.

Everyone laughed when they saw the look on Han's face. This was a wedding that cheered everyone up.

"Well, there are no words that can express how I feel about you, Laetitia." Thexan started.

"Before I met you, I was lost. But you showed me that it was possible to live with yourself after all the horrible things you've done. Leah ... I love you." He whispered proudly.

"I know, considering who I am, I have no right to say it. And you're afraid to love anyone after everything that's happened with anyone you've known, but … I do love you. I don't want you to say it back unless you're ready to, but I just wanted you to know because it's not something I feel very often. Love is … not really my thing." He shrugged.

"Fighting, yes. Killing, hell yes. Feeling guilty or taking responsibility, yes and yes." He chuckled dryly as Leah smiled.

"But love ... It leads to pain ... Because of everything we've both gone through, I think that's our worldview ... But I'm feeling it. I'm pretty sure, like 89% if I'm being honest." He added, which made everyone to smile.

"It's a feeling I feel. And it's a feeling I like. It's a feeling I wanna have and keep. There are people out there in the Galaxy who are more miserable than we are, so there is no point in avoiding pain. I love you." He finished with what he started as he slowly put on the ring on her finger.

Leah held in her emotional tears the entire time. She had to admit, she was feeling very emotional at the moment. To say she was touched was putting it lightly. In that moment, she knew that she loved him, too. That was the only explanation for what she was feeling.

But she wasn't about to say their first 'I love you' in front of everyone she knew and didn't know. She just opened her mouth to say something, but no words came out. Thexan just nodded quietly to show her that she knew. Leah took a deep breath as Thexan took out his ring that Leah had given him before.

"You didn't lose it." She bluntly said.

"Well, you swore to decapitate me if I did. So ..." Thexan trailed off as he smirked slightly.

He didn't realize how loud he was, because now, everyone was laughing.

"What's that I hear, Princess? Did you swear to rip Blue Eye's head off if he lost your ring? Now that is SOME marital instincts!" Han laughed.

Thexan put on an innocent look on his face as he turned to Leah.

"Well, it's my dad's!" She shrieked to defend herself.

"Okay, buddy. Whatever you say. Just don't cry and continue."

Leah held back her comment and just took a deep breath to start again.

"This was my father's ring. My mother gave it to him on their wedding day, but he never got to wear it in public because he wasn't allowed to be in love with her. He may not have ever worn it, but he always kept it around his neck, near his heart." She said as she remembered the first time she saw it.

"I first remember it from when he'd wash my tiny little hands into his as a little girl. He only took it off when he went on a mission. He'd leave it with me as a promise that he'd always come back and be there to protect me ... But one day, he didn't come back and I was left with his ring forever." She sadly said as she looked down to hied her tears.

Thexan also looked down in guilt and Ahsoka and Rex sighed in sadness. They knew exactly what she was talking about. Anakin was her father ... until when he wasn't. Luke assumed that she was talking about how their father went up against Darth Vader but didn't come back. He didn't know anything else that proved to him otherwise.

"His ring was like my link to him ... and I clung to it desperately every time I needed him. I no longer felt safe, and I knew that I would never feel that much love in my life ever again. No one could ever live up to my strong perfect dad. But I was wrong ... because you came into my life." She quietly said as a tears fell from her eye.

"You showed me what it is to be truly loved and to feel safe again ... There is no one in this Galaxy that means what you mean to me. The ring is everything to me, and now it's yours. Because that is what you mean to me." She took a deep breath to continue.

"Love is endless … But seriously, lose it and I'll kill you." She joked to loosen the tension she was feeling from him and herself.

Now, everyone was both laughing and crying, just like how she was feeling. Thexan laughed crying as he looked down. He loved her ... with every being in his body. He couldn't live without her.

"Well, I gotta hand it to you, sister. You definitely know how to melt hearts." Han stated as he tried to hide his own grown-man tears.

"By the power vested in by ... by absolutely no one ..." He seriously said as everyone laughed with him. This was no boring wedding.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife." He proudly said.

"You can kiss me now." Leah whispered to Thexan, who made a weird face in confusion.

"You sure? He didn't say it."

"As usual, she is right!" Han mumbled as he took a step back.

"Okay."

Laetitia and Thexan took a deep breath. They were finally finished with the hardest part. Now, they were officially and actually married. They slowly let go of each others hand, leaned onto each other and sealed their vows with a kiss.

Everyone stood up and clapped their hands in happiness. They were wiping off their emotional tears as they laughed and shrieked in excitement.

But all the happiness and excitement they were feeling was replaced by horror and shock as something loud was exploded right outside the Base.

The Empire was here!

Done :)

Whoo! This was a long chapter. A lot happened.

Thexan and Laetitia got married. YAY! I hope I made it alright and emotional enough. As you know by now, I SUCK at romance and stuff. I tried to add some jokes from Han to make it better.

But CRAP! The Empire found them right after their vows were over. What are they gonna do?!

What do you think will happen to them?
