Shinsou gently patted Midoriya's back, as the smaller boy threw up into the toilet, "Are you sure you're well enough to go for training?"
Midoriya just gritted his teeth as he tried to catch his breath, "I'm... fine... it's probably just... some mild food poisoning... it's not that bad..."
"Fine." Shinsou huffed at just how stubborn Midoriya was being, "But we're going to see the school nurse before we head for the gym, just in case, okay?"
The smaller boy nodded, as the nausea bubbled up at the back of his throat, before he upchucked into the toilet again, his head spinning.
"Stay here for a second. I'll go grab some water." Shinsou muttered, rushing down to the kitchen to grab a bottle of water.
Shinsou really didn't know what was wrong. It was unlikely to be food poisoning, since their food wasn't packaged individually; their food was delivered to them from the cafeteria in large plastic containers, and the kids would just take whatever food they wanted to eat, so anything Midoriya was eating, the other students were eating it as well.
If it really was food poisoning, some of the other students would also be complaining of stomach aches... though it is possible that Midoriya was just more susceptible to it since he wasn't exactly the healthiest kid in class.
Or maybe he just caught another cold from someone, like what happened the last time 1-B and 1-A had a joint training session and he just collapsed.
By the time he got back to the room, Midoriya seemed to be done throwing up, having washed his face and rinsed his mouth, and he gulped down the water that Shinsou provided.
"Are you absolutely sure that you can go to training?" Shinsou asked again, and Midoriya nodded, between gulps of water, "Yeah... I'm fine... It's nothing..."
Reiko walked into the bathroom, holding onto the resealable bag of gummies in her mouth, before dropping the package by Shinsou's feet. Shinsou picked up the package, before handing a gummy to Midoriya, and the green haired boy took it, before putting it in his mouth, hoping that the sour flavor could help stem the nausea.
After checking in with the nurse, who for some reason, couldn't find any problems with Midoriya, but just told him to drink a lot of water since he was pretty dehydrated from the constant throwing up, they made their way to the gym. They didn't want to be late, since Aizawa would probably chew them out big time, so they got there five minutes early, which gave them more than enough time to change and warm up.
Much to their surprise, they found Mrs Kanri standing outside the entrance to the building. Shinsou instantly scowled, as the green haired boy lowered his head, trying to hide himself behind Shinsou's larger stature. He really wasn't in the mood to be dealing with unreasonable teachers at this point in time.
The Mathematics teacher noticed them, before she stepped forward, looking at Midoriya right in the eye, "I'm sorry for what I said this afternoon. I apologize for shouting at you, and accusing you for no reason."
Midoriya just blinked blankly at her, as the teacher continued, bowing, "I know what I did was terrible... especially considering your circumstances. I'm sorry for my rude, terrible actions."
Shinsou had to admit, he was honestly surprised that the mathematics teacher was apologizing to Midoriya; he was expecting her to be an uptight fucker who thought she was always right when it came to dealing with quirkless people, like most of the mean people that they've bumped into.
Midoriya's expression betrayed none of his thoughts, before it softened slightly, "I... thank you..."
Mrs Kanri straightened up, looking at Midoriya sheepishly, "I'll fix your grade immediately."
With that, she scuttled off, and Shinsou and Midoriya turned to watch her run back to the main Ketsubutsu building.
"She's... nicer than I thought." Shinsou murmured, and Midoriya tilted his head slightly, "She... reminds me of a classmate I had... in elementary school... they even have the same last name."
"Huh... what a coincidence." Shinsou muttered, "Well... at least... she seemed sorry for her actions. Still hate her though."
Midoriya just gripped onto Shinsou's arm, "It's fine... it's not every day where someone admits that they're wrong... with regards to me."
"Well... if you say so." The taller boy just sighed. He could still feel that Midoriya seemed somewhat irritated, but if he wanted to let go of the matter, then Shinsou would just let Midoriya make the decision on the final course of action.
"Midoriya! Are you okay? You guys kind of skipped lessons after lunch..." Monoma waved at the green haired boy, and Midoriya turned towards Monoma, nodding mutely. Monoma had this... odd feeling creeping down his spine, but he really couldn't figure out what was wrong.
"Oh, so you do care!" Kaminari smiled, patting Monoma's shoulder, but the copycat just smacked Kaminari's hand away, "As if I care about you 1-A losers! Midoriya was originally from 1-C, so he's perfectly fine, not stuck up like you egotistical asses!"
"You seem perfectly okay with Shinsou, though, and he's from 1-A!" Sero interjected, "That's not fair at all, Monoma!"
"Well, we're pretty similar in terms of our quirks." Monoma shrugged, "And his head isn't as big as yours. We see eye to eye on a lot of things, he's okay!"
As usual, the annoying first years were watching the training session from the bleachers, and Fukukado really couldn't do anything except tell them to shut up when they starting hurling more insults at Midoriya; she had tried to go to the principal on this matter, and while the principal did agree that their behavior was unacceptable, he was mainly afraid of the backlash from the parents, and wasn't sure how to breach the subject without the parents turning their wrath on him.
The teachers got the students to form groups, and they would just be doing some mild warm-ups and light sparring, before they moved onto the more strenuous activities.
Aizawa had a feeling that Midoriya seemed more irritated than usual... but he wasn't too sure why; Midoriya wasn't acting too different from usual. And yet... the Erasure hero could feel something bubbling beneath the surface, waiting to be let out.
"Useless Deku!" Hareda hollered, "Stop trying to act like you're useful or anything!"
"Yeah!" Nagai chimed in, "We all know you can't do anything right, so don't even bother trying!"
Fukukado looked like she was about to murder someone, with the way her hands and eyes were twitching.
"Don't you guys have anything better to do?!" Shinsou rolled his eyes, "Or is your self esteem really that pathetic that you feel the need to pick on someone to feel validated?!"
Midoriya lowered his head, grumbling something under his breath, and Monoma and Shishikura's eyes widened, seemingly stunned, before the blonde slapped his hands over his mouth in an attempt to stop himself from laughing, while the Shiketsu student just looked at Midoriya with a constipated expression, as if he wasn't sure whether to be amused, or to scold Midoriya.
"Hah? Did you say something, Deku!?" Hareda growled tauntingly, fully expecting Midoriya to clam up, but much to everyone's surprise, Midoriya just raised his head, looking Hareda and Nagai directly in the eye, "I said, if you guys hate me that much, come down here and fight me yourself."
Aizawa and Kan nearly choked on their own saliva. Midoriya had never been one to be confrontational, unless there was a villain involved; they were surprised that the green haired boy was the one literally picking a fight.
Fukukado had a malicious grin on her face, before she smiled sweetly, "Alright? I'm sure we can spare a couple of seconds to settle this between you guys."
"As if someone like Deku can beat us." Nagai nearly burst out laughing, "This is a joke!"
Fukukado just rolled her eyes, "If you think it's a joke, come down here."
"Alright, alright, don't get too mad if we end up wrecking your precious little UA student, though." Hareda smirked, before he, Nagai, and several other first years who had been mocking Midoriya for the entirety of the week, seemingly also being old classmates, disappeared from the bleachers to make their way down to the gym.
Aizawa just turned to Midoriya, "You sure about this?"
The greenette let out a small grunt, narrowing his eyes slightly.
"Anyways, since I have it all on record... " Fukukado took her phone out, "Hareda's quirk is -"
She was immediately silenced by a glance from Midoriya, before the green haired boy turned to the door, where the Ketsubutsu first years were entering the building.
"Ready to get crushed, Deku?" Hareda cracked his knuckles.
Midoriya turned to Aizawa.
Aizawa knew that he could never get a good read on Midoriya... but now, he could practically see the one question lingering on Midoriya's mind.
"How far can I go?"
"Go all out. If that's okay on both ends?" Aizawa asked, turning towards the Ketsubutsu first years, who all just nodded eagerly, predatory, as they stepped onto the rocky terrain of the gym, "Sure!"
Midoriya swiftly whipped a blade out of his pocket.
"Hey, no support items." Hareda mocked, "We don't get the luxury of that, you know?"
"Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot who I was supposed to be fighting." Midoriya spoke up, his voice completely monotone, before he tossed his knife to the side. He took off his fire-breathing mask, before he proceeded to dig around his belt and pockets, striping himself of every single blade that he possessed, throwing them all to the side, before glancing at the Ketsubutsu first years in the middle of the field.
"Guess I won't be needing any of this." The greenette stated blankly.
Shinsou was laughing so hard that his stomach hurt, nearly doubling over in laughter at just how much Midoriya was looking down on his former classmates. He didn't need to voice it out, but the meaning behind all of his words and mannerisms rang out loud and clear for everyone.
"And just... start... I guess..." Fukukado grinned.
Midoriya shot forwards, not even giving anyone a chance to make a single move, and tackled Hareda to the ground. Hareda barely had an opportunity to use his quirk before he was slamming into the ground, and Midoriya immediately flipped around, grabbing Nagai by the arm and smacking him into another student.
It couldn't even be considered a fair fight, despite Midoriya having to deal with several opponents all on his own.
It was just a complete one sided beat down that left eight Ketsubutsu students lying on the ground, bruised and battered, groaning in pain as they breathing heavily, with Midoriya just standing there, barely breaking a sweat despite jumping around for almost a minute.
Aizawa would almost felt sorry for them, except that he knew these kids were one of the reasons why Midoriya was having so much trouble trying to recover from his past.
Hareda tried to push himself up, but Midoriya just pressed his foot against his back, pinning him to the ground nonchalantly.
"Please do something!" Nagai turned to the teachers, but Aizawa raised an eyebrow, "Why would we do anything?" "You were the ones that challenged him."
Fukukado shrugged, "You were literally asking to be beaten up. Unless you forfeit, I'm not ending the fight."
Just to rub more salt in the wound, Kaminari held his phone out, and pressed play.
"If you think it's a joke, come down here."
"Alright, alright, don't get too mad if we end up wrecking your precious little UA student, though."
Komori, Ashido, Jiro, and Hagakure were snickering as Kaminari started up another voice recording.
"Ready to get crushed, Deku?"
"Go all out. If that's okay on both ends?"
"Sure!"
Monoma, Sero, and Kaminari couldn't help it, and burst into laughter, as Midoriya just got sick of standing there and walked off the field. Fukukado called in the school nurse, who just sighed, and tried to treat the students.
"Nice job." Aizawa muttered softly as he walked past Midoriya, leaving a gentle, reassuring pat on the greenette's shoulder, before continuing towards the other beaten up students to access the damage.
Midoriya just gazed at Aizawa's back, a somewhat stoic, confused expression etched onto his face.
"Hey, Aizawa-sensei's awesome, isn't he?" Uraraka grinned, slinging her arm around Midoriya's shoulder, and the greenette's expression softened slightly.
"I guess so."
