Chapter 73 Mantle
(Location: Pietro Poledinna's place Mantle Solitus continent Kingdom of Atlas Remnant)
The group chose to do some patrolling helping the military, after checking up the large hole on the wall of the city. It was no wonder why Grimm were entering Mantle like it was nothing. Along that the wall didn't had enough security to take out any flying types. Once everything was clear and no threats present, the group chose to head back. The Ace Ops were also patrolling so there was no need to worry anymore. The citizens were in good hands until the next attack. Penny lead the way to the older man's house in case they have lost their sense of direction. It was a good observation considering how big Mantle is. The orange haired girl has already told them Pietro is her father which raised some questions. Asides Ruby that already knows her secret.
Pietro was still busy fixing Maria's mechanic eyes in another room. The group just took some rest sitting in any available seats or just on the floor. Penny was so happy to see everyone again after almost over a year. But she troubled about telling them her secret Ruby has fulfilled her word in not saying anything, which she was more than overjoyed knowing. Yet, she already let it slip that the man who is her father made her, not sounding right. The girl has come to care so much and with the modifications her fast has done on her making her act and feel like a real human. A smiled spread her features as she was more than ready not feeling bothered anymore. It felt like doing the right thing.
"Everyone?" she got everyone's attention before speaking again" there is something I would like to tell you all. I feel like you should all know."
Ruby and Velvet turned to each other. Was she planning to tell them what they were thinking. The rest didn't know. The red cloak petite and the older Crowe were worried if she should was doing the right thing. But Penny's expression was so confident and she no longer seemed to have any doubts, fears or concern. She was that sure in telling them so, they will respect her choice.
"I said Pietro is my father because he's the one that made me. That is because I'm a robot."
"…..….."
"I'm the first synthetic being capable of generating an aura."
They stood dumbfounded by the revelation. Though they should have suspected something wasn't normal with the long orange haired girl. Because they saw her arriving with rocket thrusters, flying. And the deadly green beams that vaporized Grimm out of existence. It sure has taken them by surprise considering how the robots of the military behaved to her. It was hard to believe she's an actual robot.
"The doc built you?" it was Cardin the first to speak.
"Yes. I'm considered his greatest creation. At first it was suppose to remain a secret. I was chosen to represent Atlas at the Vytal Festival along with a few students from the Academy. I didn't like it but I needed to obey orders from the General. I never knew meeting Team RWBY would changed my life forever."
"It's hard to believe you were created. You look so real to us" said Weiss.
"Thank you!" she was overjoyed" father has worked so hard to make me sound more alive. With this upgrade my emotions are 90% real from one of an actual living person. He's still working on that 10% but he's being more busy than usual."
"With what General Ironwood told us, it's no wonder" said Yang.
"I also want to take this time to thank Ruby for keeping the secret."
Everyone turned to the silver eyed girl who blushed and smiling nervously. They already experienced bad things for keeping secrets and she didn't mean it honestly. Velvet and Laphicet weren't fazed since they have known for a while. The rest were pretty much clueless until now. Penny was still smiling staring at these people who have become her friends. Normally, she would have been so nervous or scared to tell anyone her secret. Not anymore as she was happy and confident regarding the consequences. If one person accepted her for who she is then, more should follow.
"Guys-"
"It's okay. You didn't wanted people to treat Penny different" Yang smiled at her sister.
"It's fine with me" followed Blake with a smile.
"I still say she acts too real to be a robot" replied the former heiress.
"I kinda...Told Velvet and Laphicet" the red cloak girl was still nervous.
"Sis, we think it's all right if you keep this secret from us. It's not that big of a deal" said the blond brawler.
"I'd say the doc did one heck of a job" said Cardin.
Penny saw everyone gazing at her with smiles in their faces. Not having a problem with it now, she was getting emotional. That chip Pietro made her feel very real and feel emotions but it was impossible for her to shed tears. Nope, she didn't regretted telling them. In fact it felt like a big burden has been removed from her shoulders. It was a great relief no longer feeling insecure to how they will act around her. She wanted to give them another hug but refused the idea because she almost squeezed to death last time.
"Thank you all...It means so much to me…."
While she was at it, Velvet decided to filled in on the girl what they has discussed with Ironwood. The older Crowe didn't had a problem letting her know and it was the same with the others. The orange haired girl listened as she stood in thought. So they were here because they want to make a difference for Mantle and that wasn't all. Penny already knew of the relics, the Maidens and Salem thanks to the General. Only she, Winter and the Ace Ops are the only ones who knows the truth. Ironwood has trusted them with this information that they have sworn to keep a secret from anyone.
"I think you're doing the right thing. Mantle needs a lot of help, not just with it's wall but the people. There has been tensions since the embargo and the closing of borders. People are worried, scared, angry it's no wonder why Grimm would be attacking the city frequently" said the robotic girl.
That wasn't all and they knew it. Asides how faunus will get treated it was the General's attempts to try and do everything on his own. The whole weight of the kingdom in his shoulders and his being carrying it for so long. Not to mention he has barely gotten any sleep or eaten anything. They needed to finish building the Communication Tower at Amity Colosseum and knock some sense into the council before things get from bad to worse.
"Pietro doesn't seem he will be finishing up soon. I want to have a look around Mantle and see more of the city" said Velvet.
Penny suddenly got a transmission as she answered it giving a nod and smiling" time to go. I have a duty to patrol the city."
"It doesn't sound like a bad idea. We can have a better look at the situation" followed Qrow.
"It is a big place" replied Weiss.
"Maybe splitting up?" said Oscar.
"Right, we can meet back here later" followed Ruby.
"For how long?" asked Ren.
"Two hours will be more than enough" replied the former therion.
"Then we'll see each other in two hours from now" said Jaune.
Velvet, Laphicet, Qrow and Cardin split up from the others as they took chose to take the northern part of the city. They have walked the streets earlier seeing it's depressing nature but now, it looked worse. It has to be the buildings, the darkness of the night or the mood of the people. Maybe it was all of the above because neither of them didn't like it. Yet, they didn't care. The people had a right not to be in the brightest of moods after what they're all going through. And the more they saw, the more they felt sorry for them. As in their expressions wasn't enough, they were witnessing more of the same when they first arrived to the city. Just looking at it is enough to make them feel depressed too.
Some were arguing, yelling at each other looking they were about to fight. But Atlas soldiers interfered before it could get physical, arresting them. More soldiers in every corner patrolling along with robots and security drones. This will only increase uncertainty and fear among the residents doing more harm than good. In another part they were bullying faunus and even attacking them before they the military interfered. Some were insulting and throwing rocks at them. One has taken a gun before it was tackled by a soldier. So Atlas had it worse for faunus in this part of Remnant. It was like a city under the thumb of Atlas, like it was being ruled by a dictator or tyrant. They really needed to do something about this.
"It looks worse than we thought" muttered Laphicet.
"No kidding. Having the military makes it look like they're the bad guys" followed Cardin.
"Can't blame them. James have sure put himself in a very tight spot. His actions have made the people of this city to distrust and hate him" replied Qrow.
"He believes he's doing the right thing, trying to keep everyone safe. But he's making a big mistake. It doesn't help that he's putting pressure on himself and the council counting on him. And he's not in the best condition to work" said Velvet.
They have seen since they first saw the man. The General was exhausted, probably hungry. It didn't help that he was feeling paranoid that the kingdom might get attacked. Specially that now he knows Atlas could be next on Salem's list. Leaving the poor man to fear for the safety of everyone. There was so little one man can do Ozpin is the perfect example. That's why they were here, to help the guy protect the kingdom. But not before doing something with the situation in Mantle.
Velvet has taken notice there were more fliers of that woman. The first one she saw near Pietro's place. Now, there were basically everywhere in this part of the city. With the same words on it "Protect Mantle". Just who is she, could she some sort of supporter of the city or protector. It won't hurt to find out as she spotted a young man and a woman heading their way.
"Hey!" she called to the two.
Qrow, Laphicet and Cardin saw the man and woman walking to them as the older Crowed has called them. They didn't know what this was about.
"You know her?" she pointed to the woman in the flier.
"You're not from around here aren't you?" spoke the young woman.
"That's Robin Hill Mantle's homemade hero. She wants to face the council and let them know how bad, things are here. I'd say it's about damn time" followed the man.
"That's right. She wants to make a difference for all of us by running for council member in the coming election" replied the woman.
"An election?" Qrow stood in thought, Ironwood didn't said anything about it.
Though it was understandable with everything that's happening and the General having so much on his mind. He obviously forgot to let them know. But this piece of news is very good. Meaning the people of Mantle aren't sitting down and doing nothing. Someone wants to step up and do something for them. That was good to have someone representing them and being their voice. Hopefully it will make a difference.
"When Robin wins the election, we wont have to worry about this crisis anymore. She will fight hard for us on the council. Employment will increased, economy will grow, our lives will be better. She will make Mantle great again you'll see!"
"If you want to know more about it. Her campaign office is not that far from here. Just take a right in this corner and go left in the next one. You won't miss it" followed the young man.
"Thanks for letting us know" said Velvet.
The four stood in thought as the older Crowe was interested in this Robin Hill. From what they have said, she sounds like a just person. Someone that wants to do something for this city, following her heart in doing what's right. Maybe meeting this person and knowing her better might help. If she was truth worthy it won't hurt having another ally. If it goes well, she and Ironwood might have a talk and come to an agreement. There were a sudden noise as it was followed by grunting sounds. They saw a group of faunus being beaten up by humans. The sight was enough to angered Cardin. The faunus were all so helpless and defenseless and they were all getting hurt because of their physical traits.
"Those bastards!"
Worse that there weren't any soldiers around to stop this horrendous act. At least a security drone caught it which it won't be long before soldiers show up.
"What the hell are you guys doing!?"
"Now hold on-" Qrow started.
Too late, as the Winchester ran off after them. The Branwen sighed following him. Velvet didn't had a problem if soldiers weren't here on time to stop it. These were civilians. More than enough for them to handle.
"You guys can handle this. I'll go on ahead."
"Where are you going?" asked the younger Crowe.
"To make an ally or an enemy. I'll see you guys back at Pietro's place" she walked off.
As Laphicet turned back the Branwen and the Winchester had everything under control with helping the faunus that were getting beaten up. It didn't took that long for a couple of Atlas soldiers to arrived apprehend the people that were hurting the faunus citizens.
Velvet followed the two people's advice, taking the right of the corner and then taking the left. And they were right it was impossible not to miss it. The building was the first thing the former teacher saw arriving at the new street. Though it wasn't in the best conditions compare to other buildings she has seen so far. Maybe it was better looking on the inside. There were more fliers and posters with Robin's face with the protect Mantle on the left side of the place's wall. Strange that there weren't any soldiers standing on the front. If Robin is a candidate for the Atlas council shouldn't she have protection. She's suppose to be someone important. If there was no one available, she went ahead giving a quick glance around before entering.
No one seemed to be around, where could they be. Now Velvet didn't had a clue about elections except from what she has read from Laphicet's books. In Remnant's history the people elect those that will represent the council of each of the four kingdoms. That's not how it was in her world. People in power will be handpick by the royal family or even by the leader of the Abbey if necessary. The long black haired woman didn't gave to much attention to it back then when she was on her quest for revenge. But she did read a few books to get familiar with the world she has missed during the three years she spent in prison at Titania. Remnant is very different with the people having the power to chose their rulers. Her brother calls the system democracy.
Seriously, there were no people here. The building was empty at least in this floor time to check the second floor. Velvet climbed the stairs as the second floor seemed to be the same with no one around. The floor wasn't as big as the first one, something caught her ears. There was someone here after all. It was coming from a room to her right. Not like the older Crowe came here in ill intentions no need to be suspicious as she walked normally. Taking a better look at the person inside, the room was filled with fliers and posters all over. The same woman in those with tanned skin, light blond hair tied on a pony tail and violet eyes. Robin Hill called the Mantle's home town hero by the people. The one they were putting their trust and hopes on.
Her attire was a sleeveless coat with gray accents over a red double-breasted sleeveless vest, a brown high neck shirt, and a light gray short-sleeved shirt with one right short sleeve that has a black cuff whilst the other sleeve is longer. A brown belted waist clincher with matching brown pants tucked into black knee-high boots with dark brown cuffs. Around her neck an olive green scarf with tattered looking tails hanging behind her. A pair of black archery styled gloves with the index finger missing on both of them. On her left arm was a crossbow that was had the shape of a bird. It looked pretty interesting for the older Crowe. Velvet stood silent as the young woman stood seated looking busy filling some papers, followed by a large stack of them all over the desk. She came at a bad time lucky her.
"Fiona can you please make me some tea-"
The woman has turned to see her and her expression changed to one of surprise. Velvet didn't blamed her obviously she was expecting someone else.
"Sorry for coming unannounced. The door was opened."
"No need to" Robin was now smiling her mood has changed" I'm more than honored to have Velvet Crowe visiting me."
The long haired woman raised an eyebrow for a moment. Not used of having people know her. Then again, the Ace Ops knew her because they have seen her before. She blinked realizing everyone should know her.
"I was watching the Vytal Festival, everyone did. You were amazing. It's no wonder why they called you the Legendary Huntress of Beacon."
"Right" of course that's how everyone knows about her and her students.
Honestly, she didn't minded the title. Guess it was something she can get used to and flattering. Way better than the reputation she earned as the Lord of Calamity for sure.
"Please have a seat. Sorry the place isn't in the best conditions."
"I don't have a problem."
The older Crowe got seated in a metal chair next to the young woman. One thing that she wasn't expecting Robin's voice sounding very similar to hers. She must have noticed too.
"I had no idea you were in town. Word hasn't spread of your arrival. I'm sure hoping you have heard of me."
"Mantle's Homemade hero. Your fliers caught my attention. Big day ahead?"
"The election, it is a very important day for me and for the people of Mantle. Though I still have two months. I'm doing my best to promote my campaign and give us a chance to make things better in this city."
"I've been around and from a simple glance it's really bad."
"It's worse than you think. Where are my manners would you like some tea, I was about to ask my assistant for some? But it seems she's unavailable for the moment?"
"Sure."
The tanned skin woman left the office as Velvet stood thought. This was the perfect chance to know Robin more and what are her plans when she wins the election. She was neutral when hearing Ironwood's plan and she managed to turn it around with her own. Still, the communication tower at Amity it was still being finished with the exception they will tell the kingdom of Atlas first of Salem's existence before the rest of Remnant. The candidate for council seat arrived a few minutes later carrying a wooden tray with a pot and two cups.
"Hope you like lemon and cinnamon flavor."
"Thanks" the older Crowe smiled taking a cup.
Both took a sip from their respective cups as their taste buds were immediately in effect.
"It's good."
"I don't make it. Usually it's my right-my assistant that makes it" she immediately corrected herself.
The former teacher and therion nodded taking a sip. She did noticed the slipped up. Right what, was she referring to her right hand man.
"Is there a specific reason for the visit? Not that I don't mind. The more supporters I gain the better. That is if, you are a supporter?"
"I felt like coming here. I'm surprised it was so easy to enter with no security to try and stop me."
"They're busy stopping people from killing each other, patrolling the streets, scouting for Grimm. I doubt General Ironwood can provide a couple of his men to watch over my campaign headquarters. After all my life isn't that important until after I win the election."
Harsh words but they were true. The General needed to keep an eye on Mantle and make sure it's all secure and it's people are safe from any threat. Even if they all thought they were like prisoners being watched by the General of the Atlas military from above. She took a quick sip really liking the tea. Lemon with cinnamon flavor as Robin not bad.
"Hearing that you want to do something for the people of Mantle is enough to support you."
"I appreciate it. It won't be easy but I have made up my mind a long time ago. Mantle needs change and someone must take matters into their own hands to help these people. Waiting for the council to make a move is pointless. We need someone to represent this city and hear our demands. The embargo made things harder for everyone. It this keeps ups, who knows how bad it will get."
"I heard this city has seen better days" the older Crowe stood in thought.
"That's an understatement. Mantle used to be stronger, happier, livelier. I know the appearance doesn't seem like it. But it's a place where so many hard working people live and hope remains alive. Love is strength and all they want is to live their lives to the fullest."
"I think that's what everyone wants out of life. You seem like you know what you're doing" Velvet took another sip from her tea.
"I do. I've been living in Mantle for over ten years. I know more than enough to what the people want. Before the embargo we only had to worry about Grimm attacks and assault on civilians. Now it's their jobs, lack of supplies, resources, capital and who knows what else. That's why if someone doesn't do something, there won't be no city below Atlas. I'm planning on ending this crisis for good and I'll make them listen. No more of the rich looking down on the those that think are inferior to them, no more poverty, no more feeling scare for our lives of another Grimm attack, no more faunus discrimination…." the woman's violet eyes softened.
The older Crowe gave a soft nod understanding the last part. The prejudice towards faunus has been going on for many years. Ever since humanity was reborn after the Gods left Remnant. Convincing them to start treating them with respect was nearly impossible. Otherwise the White Fang would have been successful when it was formed and the terrorist one would have never happened. Blake wouldn't have get caught up in the conflict of ideologies in the first place. The long haired woman took another sip.
"Your actions are admirable. Looks like I was right about you. I don't doubt Atlas will hear you."
"I have to win the election first before I can actually do something. My opponent...Let's just say his influence is strong among the high class and owns the most potent dust company in the four kingdoms."
"The Schnee Dust Company?" Velvet stood shocked.
"The very same. None other than Jacquess Schnee."
"Weiss's father. Great she's going to be so happy when she finds out" very sarcastic indeed.
"Tough opponent?"
"No kidding. I don't want to be negative but he can easily win anyone with the right words and the right price. He might even try to sway members of the council. I know it's illegal but everything is possible. This road isn't going to be an easy one, I know that. My chances of winning might be cut in half or worse, it's still hard to figure out."
"You're having it rough. Losing isn't an option" the older Crowe stood in thought knowing what was at stake.
"I'm not planning on giving up without a fight. Luck must be by my side or maybe its faith."
She didn't know what she was talking about as Robin smiled. There seemed to be a lot of hope in her eyes.
"Now that you're here the odds might have shifted to my favor. I don't know why you're here Velvet but I could really use your help."
"You need my help, why?"
"If I have someone like you supporting my campaign it might increase my chances at victory. You want to ask why. It's easy, your name and your popularity."
The former therion raised an eyebrow.
"I didn't just watched your fight and neither does everyone else. Not just the Vytal Festival but all of it. We saw as you made that speech when Grimm were attacking Vale and Beacon. Your words were more than enough to lift the spirits of those fighting beside you. You gave those people strength and hope to survive through the ordeal. The Fall of Beacon was a tragedy but they all fought until their last breath. It was admirable, it was brave. It inspired the people of Mantle, it inspired me to think something can be done as long as you give it your best. Even if it was a defeat it did more to all of us. You're a hero Velvet."
The former teacher stood in thought not flattered much. It was hard to think so. The people in this city sure recognized Weiss but not her. Maybe they have forgotten the events during the Battle of Beacon. It has been over a year since then. Though she was glad she was being seen as a positive influence over a negative one. Because in her world, her reputation wasn't exactly the best one. Guess it was normal to recognize someone from one of Atlas's wealthiest families like the Schnee's over a complete stranger from Vale. But the young woman knew what Mantle's homemade hero wanted from her.
"You want to use me as a political tool for your benefit?"
"It's not something pretty and I don't approve of it. But if there's one thing I learned about politics, it's a dirty game that it must be played on both sides. Who knows what Jacquess Schnee would do to have the advantage, he would do anything and I do mean anything to win the election."
"Ever thought of doing things fair?"
"Wish I could but, I can't risk it. I'm afraid the council will side with him due of his wealth and power. They might already see him as the perfect candidate to fill the empty seat. I don't have the luxury to do things by the book. I'm not in the best position if I'm in a disadvantage from the start. That's why I need you Velvet. With you by my side, you might be able to convince the people of Atlas. Mantle won't have a problem as they will acknowledge you immediately. You win over the high class and you win over the council."
"Sounds easier said than done."
"I've seen what you're capable of. You have a way with words just what I need. Once they see you endorse me as the rightful candidate Jacquess won't stand a chance. They won't argue if I have the support of the Legendary Huntress of Beacon."
Velvet didn't know, her strategy wasn't that bad but she didn't had intention to get involved in the election. Agreeing to her plan will put her on the center of the political battlefield between the two candidates. Being the bringer of attention wasn't a good idea. Remembering why they were here in the first place. Guess Robin was trusting, her heart is in the right place and she has the guts to take on the council. Though the older Crowe was unsure what are her chances of winning if she's competing with Jacquess Schnee.
"What do you say, are you on board?"
"I'll think about it. I have other things to do. They're important."
"That's okay, there's still time before the election. I'm also still writing my future plans to discuss with the council. I have my work cut out."
"I think the future of Mantle is in good hands."
The former therion has finished her tea it was really good. Honestly she wanted to tell the violet eyed woman of Ironwood's plans along with her plan. She also wanted to help the people of Mantle because it was necessary in order to prevent them from panicking and stopping Grimm from attacking. But it was still too soon and she wanted to make sure it will work. At least she knows there are two months for the election. If they wanted things to go their way for the better than it was obvious, Robin Hill needs to win. Regardless of what Jacquess Schnee wants. Velvet was sure it was nothing good remembering what Weiss told her about her father. No need to stay here any longer.
"If you're that busy, I won't bother you anymore. I have to get going thanks for the tea."
"My pleasure. It was a great honor meeting you Velvet."
Robin has extended her hand as the older Crowe returned the gesture in a hand shake. Giving a smile and she did the same. The candidate for the council's eyes showed some hidden motive as they were still on the long dark haired woman.
"Is there anything else you would like to tell me?"
The former teacher stood in thought. No, she made up her mind. She will tell her later about what she talked with Ironwood. And hopefully, Mantle's homemade hero will win the election.
"Actually yes. There are many things I would like to tell you. But right now is not the time. They're very important and for someone that wants the best for Mantle you have every right to know. I hope we can talk again and maybe have more tea."
Robin's arm has suddenly glowed light green before quickly disappearing, it caught Velvet's attention. Was that her aura just now. She turned to her not looking like she noticed. Or was she seeing things.
"What is it?" of course she will pretended like she saw nothing.
"It's fine. Thanks again for the tea."
"Next time Fiona will make it and you will see the difference in no time. Trust me it's way better made by her" smiled the council candidate.
The older Crowe gave a nod with a smile as she left the office. Robin went to take a peek making sure she was gone.
"Velvet Crowe's presence here means something might be up. She was telling the truth hmm...What could those things she wants to tell me be? Either way, this has become quite interesting."
The light blond haired woman went to picked her cup taking a sip. A question popped her head as she should have asked the long haired woman from the start.
"Why is her voice the same as mine?"
Team RWBY has gone to a more urban part of the city. The buildings seemed to be looking a little decent than the other ones they saw when they first arrived. But it was the same sight. The people weren't looking happy, more like they were miserable, depressed, upset maybe all of the above. They have seen enough faunus being mistreated and attacked as Atlas soldiers will be there to break it up and take the attackers away. It didn't seated well with Blake seeing more of the same first hand as always. It didn't seated well with her teammates either. This was proof enough this kingdom was the most hostile towards the race than others. Any faunus would rather be in Vale, Mistral o Vacuo than Mantle or Atlas.
The four girls have noticed a couple of stores as they walked the street. Many of them were closed for business. A weapon shop guess it shouldn't be a surprise. With lack of employees of SDC it will be impossible to distribute for shop like this. They can't sell weapons without dust rounds and of course dust shops. Without any of it they couldn't sell anything so no choice but to close shop and go out of business for the time being. The embargo hit the company hard as it was losing money making the choice to lay off employees to try and save some of that money. The tight security wasn't helping either along with the whole military above them. Things weren't good, they knew it. But will it get worse before they can do something about it.
"The longer we're here, the more I will get depressed" said the red cloak leader.
"It's not that bad of a place. I like it but the atmosphere could use some…." Yang trailed off trying hard to think for that word.
"Can't blame them for what's happening" said Blake" I'm sure Mantle is a great city with proud and happy people. But, this is not it."
"I know they're going through some tough times but it doesn't give them the right to treat their fellow citizens like garbage. I swear if I see someone beating up a faunus, I'll be stepping in. They'll think twice before laying a hand on one" said a very unhappy Weiss.
"It has always been like that. I knew the hate for the faunus will be worse in Atlas. Some things will never change" said Blake giving a sigh.
The white haired was ready to lose it. A miracle her patience was holding on for this long. Even with the presence of the military, it wasn't sitting well with her. True she wasn't fond of faunus but she didn't despise them that she would try to beat them up. It was a shocker that they weren't doing anything, not even attempt to try and defend themselves. That wasn't all, the white haired girl has noticed people staring at her. Obviously because they must have realized she's a Schnee. Also because her family emblem was on the back of her dress so pretty obvious anyone will know. Most of the stares were a bit hostile others of shock and curiosity.
The former heiress wasn't going to stay and deal with this. If they want to hate her that's fine by her. Surely, they won't try anything as she will point to Myrtenaster she wasn't defenseless and not alone. Her teammates are with her more than enough to handle anything. She went ahead of the others hearing murmurs, if she's a Schnee, what was she doing here, did she got sicked being in her mansion among other things. She was annoyed and she wasn't planning to stay here any longer. The others followed trying to console her. Does it mean that much of a big deal that it was her first time in Mantle. This is the thanks she gets for saving them from Grimm. Not the kind of gratitude to expect for the Huntress in training.
"Weiss-Hold on!" said her silver eyed partner.
"Forget about them. They're not worth it" followed Yang.
The girl just wanted to get away from these people and those that would hate on faunus. Then she spotted someone, very familiar. Pale blue eyes widened thinking she must be seeing wrong. The white haired girl ran as her teammates called on her following the pursuit. The person was still far but she kept going hoping she was wrong. But somehow she had a feeling she was right. It was hard to tell his face because he was wearing a bowler hat similar to the one Roman Torchwick would wear but this one, was colored dark blue. Weiss passed through some of the people making sure it wasn't in a rude manner as she was able to reached this familiar figure. His back was turned, holding a bag of groceries. As she touched his right shoulder the person turned to her.
"Klein?"
The man quickly turned when he felt his shoulder being touched. He panicked at first but hearing the familiar voice calmed him down as he was relief to see the white haired girl. Someone dear to him he hasn't seen in a while as he sees as the daughter he wished he has ever had. He was caught off guard as Weiss has given him a big hug how she has missed him, he was family looking after her since she was very young. The butler had to hold his groceries unable to return the hug. The former heiress broke it smiling at him. It was hard to see him wearing clothes that weren't from his butler uniform. Asides the dark blue bowler hat a red long sleeve cloak with long brown pants with black dress shoes.
"Miss Schnee, my goodness. It's so good to see you again."
"I'm more than glad to see you again too. But, what are you doing here?"
"I live here. Mantle is my home."
This caught the white haired girl's attention. First time to know of his actual home. But she felt there was more to it.
"Weiss, aren't you going to introduce us to your friend?" asked Yang.
"Right, sorry. Everyone this is Klein he's my family's butler."
The man stood in thought as his brown eyes softened. The former heiress was able to tell something was wrong.
"It's a pleasure to meet you all. I am honored to finally meet your teammates miss Schnee."
"If he's the butler, shouldn't he be in your manor?" asked Ruby.
"Well yes. He also lives there but this is the first time for me to know you're from Mantle."
"It's good to be back home after a while. I've been getting homesick thought, it was the right thing to do." He cleared his throat.
"Klein what's wrong? What aren't you telling me?" she was worried that bad feeling wasn't leaving her.
"Well you see…."
His eyes have suddenly turned red shocking the three except the white haired girl she has seen it before more than once. It was a sign that he was angry.
"The old fart fired me because he found out I helped you escaped the manor!"
"Father fired you!" the former heiress gasped.
"I supposed that was to be expected. Considering how upset he was" his eyes returned to his normal brown.
"I'm so sorry Klein, I should have known-It's my fault."
"That's all right Miss Schnee I don't regret my actions one bit. You needed to leave that place. You weren't happy there. You wanted to be reunited with your teammates. It brings my heart joy you're back where you belong. I know Miss Winter feels the same."
"Hi Klein I'm-"
"Ruby Rose Miss Schnee's partner and leader of Team RWBY along with Yang Xiao Long and Blake Belladonna. I was watching the Vytal Festival but I didn't got to see the conclusion."
That was a good thing, considering everything went to hell before the end of the tournament.
"Klein I...I'm really sorry you lost your job…."
"Put a suck in it already, I said I don't regret doing what I did girl geez!" his eyes turned back red.
Then they changed to yellow as he hugged the girl.
"You made my day today. Seeing you again brings me the greatest of joys."
"I wasn't expecting to see you in Mantle but now I am glad to see you here" she was relief she won't have to see him at the manor because honestly she didn't wanted to return there at least, not yet.
"Anyway, let's not stay here for too long" his eyes changed back to brown" I'll be honored if you would like to join me at my home?"
"Can we?" smiled the red cloak girl.
"I don't have a problem with it" followed the brawler.
"I guess it's okay" replied Blake.
"We all agreed. We'll be honored Klein" smiled the former heiress.
"Wonderful!" and his eyes changed to yellow again.
Klein kept his yellow happy eyes as he lead the four girls to his house. The path was filled with shops and mostly other type of businesses. Sadly, it was the same result as previous. Many of them were closed with the sing" out of business". The team wanted to avoid it for the moment and try to keep their minds busy. Weiss was curious to see her former family butler's house. It was a surprise he's from Mantle instead of the city floating above. The former butler climbed some stairs using the key to open the front door. The house wasn't that big but it was decent enough. The white haired girl smiled truly happy to see him here, of all places. The man opened the door as his eyes were still yellow.
He kindly let them go in first as they entered looking more impressed. Seemed the house looks a little bigger from the inside than outside. Elegant too and Weiss felt like it had a similarity to her manor but it was a better feeling. A grandfather clock, a painting of him with a woman she didn't know. She had long brown hair and blue eyes wearing a long sleeve white dress shirt with a long dark brown skirt. Her smile made it clear she was very happy, could she be Klein's wife. By now the former butler's eyes returned to his original brown but he was still happy for having them over his place. Maybe now things will get livelier around here.
"I'm back and I brought guests!"
"So you're not living here alone" spoke the former heiress.
"It's a little big for my taste. It will get lonely sometimes."
Weiss felt bad for him sure he lived in her family manor which it was a thousand times bigger than this. But the possibility of him being lonely with no one to talk to. She was probably the only one who would have a longer conversation. The thought her father fired him like makes her blood boil. Worse that it was because he chose to help her escape the manor when she planned with Velvet to go to Mistral. Guilt was clear in her system. Pretty sure her father must have hired a new butler by now and it was impossible not seeing someone else that isn't Klein.
"Please feel free at home."
"Guests?"
Someone arrived coming from the left. It was the same young woman that was on the painting. She was wearing a long blue dress with white sandals. She was very beautiful smiling at the four girls and she looked to be a bit younger than Klein.
"Everyone, this is Evelyn Sieben my younger sister."
"Sister?" another revelation that has shocked the white haired girl.
"Hello, it's nice to finally meet Team RWBY. And you too Weiss. Don't be surprised my brother has told me a lot about you."
"It is definitely a surprise for sure" she kept staring at the man while his eyes changed to pink as his cheeks were red.
"Here big brother, let me help you with those" she took the bag of groceries from him.
"Thank you. Would any of you like some tea and cookies?"
"Cookies!" Ruby was already hype.
"Yes, that will be great" the former heiress has also missed his tea.
Evelyn showed the girls the living room letting them getting seated on a sofa. Klein arrived shortly holding a silver tray with various cups, a big pot and a small dish filled with cookies. Ruby's silver eyes widened and shined at the sight of sweet treats. As soon as the former butler put them on the table the red cloak petite started devouring. Weiss stopped her partner from eating every single cookie so everyone can take some. Blake and Yang had a taste loving it before picking their cups. After the white haired girl let their leader picked the sweets. The team took a sip as the siblings stared with a smile. Their eyes widened as the drink hit their taste buds.
"This is very good" Blake was the first with a smile.
"I'm not really a tea person but this is good" followed the blond brawler.
"It taste even better with the cookies" said the silver eyed petite.
"Klein is one of a kind for everything. His tea making skills are nothing to joke about" Weiss smiled with a pride.
"Thank you. Always appreciate the sentiment."
"So what brings you to Mantle?" asked Evelyn.
The girls stopped on their eating and drinking. Three turned to their leader as Ruby stood in thought. Maybe it was for the best not to say anything to why they were here. Telling them about Ironwood's plans. They were here to explore the city more. The red cloak girl remained calm not wanting to sound nervous as she took another tasty cookie.
"We have official Huntress business. Just helping out the military clear out Grimm, keep the people safe" the reaper did said a half truth so it shouldn't make her feel that bad.
"That's good to hear. The attacks have gotten more frequent for a while. It's good to have the military but it's also more comfortable to have Huntsman aiding them" said Evelyn.
"We have a pretty good idea what's causing it" the former heiress took a sip from her tea.
"You don't have to worry with us around. We'll keep Mantle safe" the red cloak leader was stuffing her face with cookies.
"Ruby!" her partner scolded her for eating with her mouth full.
"You can count on us for anything. If you guys need help we'll be there" said Yang.
"Would you like more cookies?" Klein smiled at the silver eyed girl was done eating them.
"Yeah" the leader smiled while her white haired partner frowned.
The former butler got up as he took the dish going back. Evelyn's eyes softened at her brother's retreating form. Giving a sigh the team knew something was wrong. Weiss knew what could be bothering her. When it comes to Klein, it's like she was able to read his mind. For as long as she has known him, he will always help her in any way he could. Yet, he would never say his problems. It was always thinking about others first before himself. That was the kind of person he is.
"What is wrong with him?"
"He's worried…." the young woman started" of not getting another job. He's been the butler of your family for years and now, he thinks he isn't useful for other jobs."
"Has he tried to get a job somewhere else? He has so much experience as a butler. He's the best I know of" the former heiress was full of concern.
"He has started searching in Mantle but with the situation here, it's been hard. Atlas is the only place he would be able to get an assuring job...But I'm sure he will refuse. Because it will remind him of his old job serving a high class family."
Weiss stood in thought, that wasn't it. She knew it has to be because he misses her family. Klein has been the Schnee butler for sixteen years of his life. Not easy to forget them and move on to someone else. She grew up with him, he was always there for her like a second father. He told her stories, attended her singing recitals, making her laughed by mocking her father, he was perfect. The others stood silent this was very personal for their white haired teammate. The former heiress did her best not to teared up. Without him, it will be so hard to return to her home. Can she really live in the manor without the best butler in Solitus.
"Maybe convincing my father to hire him back but that would be impossible."
"He wouldn't want you to bother yourself trying. He was sad when he got fired saying he won't see you or your mother again."
The white haired girl got up slamming her hands on the wooden table. The sound started everyone.
"Of course I would bother he's family!"
"Achoo!"
They turned to the source of the sneeze as they saw Klein holding the dish he took now filled with my cookies. His eyes were light blue as he was able to removed it from getting hit by the sneeze. The former butler has heard enough as he had a feeling the white haired girl wasn't going to be happy. He slowly walked back as he gently put the dish on the small table. Ruby didn't felt like taking anymore knowing how personal the topic has gone. Her partner was upset and worried, it was enough to give her the idea. His eyes returned to his normal brown as he knew she was staring at him. It got quiet as he picked up his cup and took a sip.
"It's not that bad as you might think Miss Schnee. I have kept myself busy doing some extra reading, writing and even helping Evelyn run the orphanage. It doesn't matter if I'm having difficulty finding a new job. I'm doing all right."
"Are you planning to get a job on Atlas?" she was serious.
"For the time being it will remain this way. I'm not planning on returning. There's more to life than being a butler" he smiled.
Weiss didn't believed him squat as Evelyn remained silent looking worried. She respect her brother's choice but she has been concerned with their economic situation. What she makes at the orphanage isn't nearly enough to sustain not just herself and Klein but the children. Right now they were holding on because of his life savings from working for the Schnee Family but the lien will eventually run out. It was fine if they end up on the streets but the children. They were too young and that wasn't the kind of life she wanted on them. No one deserves that life.
"Is that what you really want? I don't mind it if you feel all right with it. But, are you really happy living this life?"
She chuckled. Here she was trying to convince him when that won't do. Weiss knew her father won't want him back unless some serious talking is done.
"I know you had unpleasant and pleasant memories working for my family. I always saw the looking in your eyes and I can tell you love working at the manor. It was more than just a job but it was a more of a duty for you. You look after us and you like it."
"You were all family…." his eyes changed to red" even the old fart and that brat of his."
Weiss chuckled slightly mentioning her father and younger brother.
"It's all in the past now. I would love to come back but it seems I don't have a choice. I enjoy my time here with Evelyn, she is my real family after all."
"I will talk to father and see if he can hire you. It's worth to try if it means you can come back."
"You will have better luck talking to a wall" Klein's eyes changed back to red.
"I said it's worth to try."
"I agree. I know deep down my brother wants to return to your family" smiled Evelyn.
"And if she needs help we'll make sure she gets it" spoke Ruby as she finally took a cookie.
"I'm so happy to know Miss Schnee made so many great friends. It really brings joy to my heart" Klein looked like he was ready to cry.
"And there's more of us" Yang winked bringing the other members of the group.
"I'm so proud of you that they can accept you for who are. I know she can be stubborn, proud and a bit of a hot head" resumed the former butler.
"Don't you mean a cold head? Eh? Nailed it right?!" the brawler has done it again with her puns.
The former heiress face palmed, Ruby ignored her sister and went to pick another cookie, Blake did the same enjoying her tea enough that her cat ears were moving. Evelyn didn't know what to say or do, she just stood there. She got the joke but it wasn't that good.
"That was lame!" Klein's eyes turned red again.
"I haven't said a pun in a while I thought this would be good time for one" Yang ignored the boos coming from out of nowhere.
The former heiress gave a sigh not the best time to make a lame pun. But getting back on the topic of Klein she meant what she said. She will talk to her old man and try to convince him to hire him back. The Schnee family isn't the same without him.
Team JNPR went to a few of urban places of the city seeing the usual. Atlas soldiers, security drones a couple of people arguing and faunus being mistreated. It didn't looked like it wasn't any different from other places before they went to somewhere different. So different, it was so hard for them to believe it was part of the city. The four stood on the slums. Ironwood mentioned many people losing their job due to the embargo and he wasn't kidding. The population here must have increased after it was done. This was their first time and they already didn't wanted to be here for too long. The lower class lives here, the poorest of the poorest citizens of Mantle. The sight got them more depressed than seeing the regular parts of the city.
Anyone from kids, teenagers, adults and elderly. Being in corners next to trash cans filled with fire while others were probably eating garbage from those cans. The sight of parents trying to cover their own children with old dirty blankets was enough to break their hearts. Nora remained calm trying not to tear up. This reminded her of those days when she was living in the streets of Kuroyuri. It was just her trying to survive each day while being mistreated by kids who had a family and a warm comfy house. A hand landed on her shoulder as the orange haired girl turned to Ren. It was clear neither of them were happy about this. It was the same with the rest, no one should be living like this.
"This is...Terrible" spoke Oscar.
"How long have they've been living here?" followed Jaune.
"The embargo did this. But there's always those that have lived longer" said Ren.
"This sure brings back memories" said the depressed Valkyrie.
"We'll be able to do something about it, right?" said the farm hand.
"No doubt. This has given me more reason to go with Velvet's plan. We can't let any one else end up here" replied the Arc.
"Lift the embargo, increase employment opportunities, fix the economy" followed the magenta eyed teen.
"We can't forget about the wall. As long as it has that hole more Grimm will be coming. It needs an upgrade" added Nora.
"And maybe less security to the point they won't get nervous to walk the streets" followed her partner.
That was probably the only thing questionable with the way they treat faunus. Not to mention they don't seem to be defending themselves either. The four resumed walking watching some of them people sharing the heat, while a few were singing. As it couldn't get any more heartbreaking. Jaune has suddenly noticed someone at the end of a street it was impossible not to spot because he was very tall. Now that the blond leader thought about it, this guy was familiar he has seen him before. Blue eyes widened remembering fighting him at the Vytal Festival. It was coming back to the Arc he and Pyrrha fought him and his partner in the doubles round. The flat top, the gray eyes, the dragon pendant, the muscled chest and that height he could never forget him.
"That's…."
He went ahead of the others running to the end. The tall guy stood there as he was in deep thought. Was he waiting for someone or was it something else. There was definitely something wrong as the Arc noticed a lot of concern in his gray eyes. The others followed the blond not knowing where he was going.
"Krux! Hey Krux!"
The tall teen was snapped from his train of thought turning to the person calling him. When he saw the blond, a smile spread his features like he hasn't been happy in a while. The familiar person that he fought and considered him a worthy opponent. A sight for sore eyes indeed.
"No way...Jaune! Buddy its really you."
"I knew it was you. No one I know will be this tall."
The tall teen just laughed it up because it was true. He was probably the only teenager of his height. At least, that's what he believes.
"It's been so long man. What brings you to this lonely part of Remnant?"
"Guys, this is Krux Silver from Haven" the Arc introduced him to the rest.
"You and your partner competed in the Vytal Festival" said Ren.
"Yep, glad you remembered. Who wouldn't forget such a great fight? I had a blast!" he chuckled.
"I remembered you" Nora forced smile trying not to bring her deceased red haired teammate.
"I'm Oscar, nice to meet you" the farm hand smiled.
"Likewise. Any friend of Jaune is a friend of mine."
"Krux, what are you doing here?" asked the blond leader.
"It's kinda of a long story."
"After what happened in Haven we'd figured you would return" said the magenta eyed teen.
The tall teen stood clueless like he had no idea what he just said.
"You don't know?" pressed the Arc.
"What?" he suddenly got worried" did something happened to the school?"
The four blinked if he didn't know then it would explained why he wasn't present on that fateful evening. So they told him the events that took place in the Battle of Haven in Mistral. Krux stood there listening to everything before he stood shocked and in awe. Blinking a couple of times before the realization hit him. After the team finished telling the story, he stood disappointed.
"Damn. I can't believe I missed all that action and it all took place right in the courtyard of our own school, go figure."
"We could have use your help and Ophelia's back then" Jaune remembered that fight as it was yesterday.
"After hearing that, I fell more bad with myself sorry for letting you down buddy. I had no idea honest."
"It's okay. We all managed to defeat all the Grimm" replied the blond leader.
"Why didn't you returned to Haven?" asked the Valkyrie.
The gray eyed teen stood in thought scratching the back of his head. A lot has happened since the last time he saw the Arc and the others that competed in the tournament.
"I never returned to Mistral, neither of us did…." he paused looking in thought.
"Is something wrong?" the Arc could see it and the rest.
"If it's personal then its okay. We don't want be rude or anything" said Oscar.
"You guys are a team of Huntsmen and Huntresses. I think I should tell you. Our team, is done. It's over, there is no more Team OAHK."
The four stood taken back. They thought the worse has happened. Did they lost team members during the Fall of Beacon.
"Before you get any ideas nobody died. A lot happened since the fighting in Beacon we...Had an argument, then a fallen out and eventually...We broke up. Sounds crazy I know but they weren't interested in staying together to keep the team going. So, one chose to stay in Vale, another went to Vacuo and me and Ophelia went to Mantle. Here we are it's been like that ever since."
"Ophelia's here…?" the Arc stood in thought.
"Is she okay?" asked Nora worried.
They knew the girl was anything but okay. The girl who was a rival and a good friend of their red headed teammate who is gone from this world. She must be going through a lot. Even to this day, it was hard for the remaining members of the team to continue walking down this path.
"I wish I could say she'll be fine in no time. After we retreated from Beacon, she found out what happened to Pyrrha Nikos. She hasn't been the same ever since then. It's been a year or more after that battle? And she doesn't look like she's going to get better."
"We know exactly how she feels. It hasn't been easy on us to deal with her death. I thought it was a bad dream that I would never wake up" Jaune's eyes softened.
Ren and Nora put their hands on their leader's shoulder trying to comfort him.
"Of course you guys would take it the hardest. But Ophelia...After arriving here she went to one of those run down cabins and shut herself in. She would hardly leave to get some fresh air, eat or even get some sleep. I've been trying to help her and after all this time, I feel like I'm not doing enough."
"You already know this. You need to give her time to heal, it's not something that can be done easily. It's been over a year and we're still in healing, dealing with her absence."
"It's more of the same but as long as we have each other we'll be able to pull through. We will always remember her, we will always miss her" smiled Nora trying not to tear up.
"And it's not because she was my partner and our teammate she was our dear friend. You're doing the right thing Krux being by her side and it's not because she's your partner. She's your friend too, right?"
"Damn right she is. I would never leave her not when she needs me the most and I'm not planning on giving up. Thanks a lot, I really needed that. I know everything you just said is true. I just needed someone to tell me makes me feel a whole lot better."
"I wish I could have done something for you" spoke Oscar.
"It's okay kid. I think it's enough you're with these three. They're really something."
"Maybe I can help after all. Whenever I get depressed I make carrot juice. It's really good for you" offered the farm boy.
"Carrot juice?" Krux stood in thought" it's healthy but I thought something better like orange or apple juice. I'm more of a fruit person than vegetable kid but, thanks anyway."
"I better check up on Ophelia. See if she's hungry. It was great meeting you again Jaune."
"No problem. We'll be staying in Mantle and Atlas for a while so we might see each other again."
"Even better let me give you my scroll number."
"We don't mind giving you ours too" followed Ren while Nora nodded.
After a few hours the groups meet up at Pietro's place where the professor was finally done checking Maria's tech eyes. They were all new and was able to see better. No more glitches or bugs on her prosthetic eyesight. Velvet volunteered to cook something quick because everyone was feeling hungry as they got seated to enjoy the meal. Though the table was too small for the whole group, some had to get seated on the floor. Professor's place wasn't really something like Klein and Evenlyn's house. After eating, they reunited in Pietro's workshop as each of the teams told their side looking around Mantle. Each of the leader chose to tell their side of the story and let everyone know if the situation in the city is worse than what Ironwood has claimed.
They listened and stood in deep thought. Looks like everything the General has said was true. It was unfortunate that the people of Mantle were suffering this much due to the actions taken by him and the council. Things were really worse than anticipated. Velvet mentally sighed, they just got here and they already have so much to do. It was going to be complicated specially when it all depends on Ironwood meeting with the council and telling them everything they know. How they were going to take it, not in the best way that's for sure. Velvet checked the time in her scroll and realized it was starting to get late. Guess it was time to call it a night and get some rest. They were all looking like they needed it.
It was time to head back expecting that Ironwood will be contacting them to bring them back to Atlas Academy. They give their farewells to Pietro and Maria while the old woman decided to stay behind. The former Huntress wasn't looking forward to return to the school as she felt she belongs here. As the group was ready to leave they spotted Penny arriving looks like she came just in time.
"Good to know I came in when you guys were about to head out. General Ironwood just contacted me to let me know he will be picking you guys up back to the school."
"Yeah, we already knew that was going to be the case" spoke Ruby.
"He also told me you will be needing the rest because tomorrow you will have your first mission."
"Mission?" Laphicet turned to his older sister.
"We saw that coming too" the former therion didn't had a problem.
"He did said he might be needing our help now that we're here" followed Jaune.
"Not like we were expecting to sit around and do nothing" replied Yang.
"Let's head to the ship docking bay. I have a feeling tomorrow is going to be a long day" the older Crowe gave a nod.
To be continued
-Word of warning the next chapter might be delayed because I'm still trying to come up with the new outfits when I'm finally reaching the new outfits episode. So the chapter might not be release next Saturday the 21st. Maybe the coming week.
-I can freely confirmed that Torchwick will finally return in this volume after so long lol. I wouldn't have showed him in Neo's character short if I didn't had any plans for him to show up soon in the new volume. But I won't say anything about when he will return or Neo for the matter. Just know that I planned everything from the start.
-Robin has made her appearance earlier than in canon and I had so much fun writing her conversation with Velvet. I am planning of making her character bad ass and epic unlike canon which it was done so bad and it disappointed me considering who voices her. And of course I had to add" they have the same voice" trope because I'm going to keep bringing it up for humor purposes.
-I haven't forgotten about Krux and Ophelia my OC's in this story explaining why they weren't in the Battle of Haven. Ophelia seeing Pyrrha her best friend obviously took her death really bad.
-I wanted to add Klein to the story because he deserves it. I enjoyed his character and having seven different personalities which are the seven dwarves while Weiss being Snow White. I decided to give him a younger sister Evelyn too. Not to mention Klein is someone important for Weiss being his caretaker and had a strong impact in her life.
-I finally saw v8 ep1 and I stand correct with my previous opinion of it. My respect for Yang went up a little as she chose to stay and protect the people of Mantle. My opinion on Ruby however decreased by a lot. Her idea is basically Ironwood's plan from v7 WTF!? So it was bad when he thought of the plan but it's good if Ruby makes it? They couldn't do it before Salem shows up, what makes them think they can do it now with her right around the corner. This explains why they separated Yang being with Jaune, Ren and Oscar while Ruby left with Penny, Weiss and Blake. The opening is good, dark and tragic hoping something very tragic happens and the music wow Jeff Williams does it again. I noticed Harriet is obviously angry at Qrow for Clover's death maybe she liked him and yes the Qrow/Robin ship teasing will be all over this volume. Ironwood shooting the male fodder council member a reminder that he's the bad guy now and he's beyond being redeemed. Will Hazel fight Elm? Will Mercury fight Yang in an awesome rematch?
-Saw v8 ep2 and when Qrow said" we can kill the man that put us here" telling Robin when they were in custody meaning Ironwood I felt my whole world came crashing down. CRWBY just hit the final nail in Qrow's character assassination coffin. How the hell did he became from one cool drunk uncle to an emo filled with revenge? He's not going to blame himself for Clover's death because it was his fault and Robin's WTF!? The two good things about the episode was the Grimm Salem sent after Oscar it's stronger, smarter and it CAN talk finally an OP Grimm. Also I face palmed when it was attacking Oscar, Yang, Ren and Jaune just stood there watching lol. And Nora sending Weiss through that vacuun tube it was funny. The poor kid was getting beat and they weren't doing a thing. Point is this volume is going to be bad as v7 or probably worse than v5 you've been warned folks.
-Replying to reviews:
*Shadow Joestar- thank you and yeah I might have something like that for Thunder Thighs (horrible ship name IMO).
*Guest- I would love to but it's part of the canon story. I admit I didn't like it because it's obvious they hate Trump and I consider myself a Trump supporter for everything he has done for latinos, Cubans, black people etc. I understand how you feel but I feel the election played an important role in v7 ignoring RT's biased hatred. I will make it with the intention it's part of the story and not my biased. Besides my version will make more sense specially the framing Penny part which it was done so bad. Hope you stick around for it or if you want to skip it I will completely understand.
*Guest- haha me too. I will always update when the new volume premieres. Hopefully that will remain.
*stephanieechi10- uh...You mean down with Jacquess? I want to keep the politics topic away from here even if I intend to follow canon events with the election between Robin and Jacquess. I will respect your opinion whether you support or you're against Trump.
*Sweetdesire2002- it's good to be back. I don't want to talk about the 2020 election I just had a feeling the Dems were going to commit fraud so that Biden would win because let's face it his rallies were horrible and he was barely putting any effort in them. That's all I will say the sooner this is solve the better. As for the faunus discrimination thing I have plans for it. At least will be more realistic than canon that's for sure. Your second review I don't think she will punch him that would sound more like old vengeful Velvet but I can tell you she won't be happy when she meets him. And I already finished this chapter and still haven't seen Unicorn's discrimination video people have been recommending it.
*TheEmeraldMage- always happy with your constant support and I will never get tire of saying it. Glad to hear you want to go blind because this version of v7 will be very different from canon. I am hoping you will enjoy it. Won't touch RT's situation anymore. Thanks again.
*Prime's apprentice- don't know because I only saw the first seasons of Red vs Blue you know when it was a big comedy show. Thanks for the review.
*ian12091995- noice? What?
*TPoynt- thanks a lot everything lies in Velvet's plan the fate of Atlas and Mantle are on her and everyone's shoulders. Ironwood is obviously stressed out from the whole situation the guy probably has slept or eaten in days because he takes his responsibility deadly serious. But I'm glad you're liking the changes I have done to the volume. And yes I am hoping another studio picks up RWBY and makes a remake version better than the original.
*DaManWOFear- thanks a lot I appreciate it my version of v7 will be very different but it will have a lot of conflict and drama. I hope you will enjoy it.
*Guest- thank you.
*Saint Saber Fang- thank you as always I know about Cyberpunk and I heard it was going to be delayed yet AGAIN I hope its not true. Fervent Lumina thanks I'll check her videos out. I do have a YT channel but I haven't uploaded any videos or I don't think I will ever will. I only have it just to have a favorite list.
*CT7567Rules- thank you very much I am planning to make this version of the volume better than canon. And hopefully you and everyone will enjoy it.
*Gabriel443- ya lo vi y no preocupo por eso man por como van a escribir el volumen.
*calderoneric758- I am looking forward with both sisters arguing and fighting in the new volume. Let it be done please CRWBY.
*R.E.W. 4- sadly its going to get worse for RT because Warner Media has started the second wave of lay offs with DC comics and Cartoon Network. RoosterTeeth will eventually get hit with the second wave and more employees will be let go from the company. Pretty soon there won't be anyone left from the original group. Specially when there's only members of the founding fathers remaining.
*Jamieoeyes- oh I know about Phoenix Night and I love his theory videos. A true fan of RWBY and not one of those toxic fanatics. CRWBY should take notes from his theories to make the show better.
-As always thank you very much for all the support the favs, follows and reviews I really appreciate it.
Next time: Ace Ops
