"Fuck… not today."

Hitoshi watched from the stairs as Papa brought Dad a mug of coffee and a hot water bottle. The erasure hero was wrapped up in blankets lying across the couch with a pained expression, it was clearly one of his chronic pain days.

"You need to go back to bed."

"I can't."

"I know why you can't be you also can't go anywhere when you're in as much pain as I know you are."

"He needs me, Zashi."

Papa leant down and pressed a kiss to his husband's crown.

"We'll figure something out."

Hitoshi took the opportunity to walk down the stairs, pretending as if he hadn't been there the entire time and overheard their whole conversation.

Papa turned to him.

"Morning, Tosh."

'MORNING'

He entered the living room and took a seat on the other couch.

There was so much he needed to say.

'OKAY DAD?'

Papa offered a soft smile of reassurance.

"He's going to be fine, I'll look after him, he just needs to rest."

"I'm fine, I can still go-."

'NO'

His hands stilled.

'GO ALONE ME'

Dad, obviously sensing his husband's body language in response to what he'd replied, turned to them.

"What did he say?"

"I don't think it's a good idea for you to go alone, Toshi."

Shouta's expression firmed.

"Absolutely not."

'DAD'

Without even the need for sight he knew exactly what he'd replied.

"No."

'PAPA?'

Hizashi exhaled deeply.

"Not alone, Tosh, you don't want that."

Dad went to push himself up off the couch.

"You need to lie down and stay still." Papa guided his husband back down.

'FINE ME. STAY WITH DAD YOU' Hitoshi attempted to reassure.

"You're not going alone." The voice hero took his phone out of his pocket and located the number he needed. "I'm gonna' call Toshinori."

Who?

"You shouldn't spring this on him like that, Toshi isn't his responsibility and he has a few other things on his mind right now after everything that's happened." Dad spoke up.

There was a knock at the door.

Papa sighed.

"I'll get it; Toshi, make sure your Dad doesn't go anywhere."

Dad groaned with a clear eye roll, adjusting his position on the couch and placing the hot water bottle against his elbow.

"Toshinori, weird timing."

"Hm?"

"Oh, nothing, come in."

All Might walked inside.

Oh, that was Toshinori. Was he even supposed to know that? Probably not.

"Not feeling so good, Aizawa?" The pro asked in concern.

"I'm fine."

Hitoshi offered him a smile.

"Good morning, Master Shinsou."

"That name really stuck, huh?" Dad smirked.

'NO CHANGE TO AIZAWA?'

He shook his head.

'LIKE'

"Okay then."

Papa took a breath.

"Look Toshinori, we have a pretty big favour to ask you."

"If I would accompany Master Shinsou here to the funeral?"

"Yeah." Dad nodded.

"Of course."

They both clearly weren't expecting such an immediate response.

"Are you sure?"

"Mirai wouldn't want Hitoshi to be alone and I believe we would be in agreement that he shouldn't either."

'KNOW SIR LONGER. INTRUDE NOT WANT'

"Your grief is not an intrusion on my own, Master Shinsou, and to be honest I was a little fearful of going alone myself, so how about we support each other?" The number one offered a soft smile.

Hitoshi returned it with a nod.

'LIKE THAT ME'

"Come on; let's go get you ready then." Papa shooed him upstairs.

Toshinori took a seat on the couch opposite Aizawa.

"Thanks for this, we really appreciate it." The erasure hero scrubbed a hand down his face. "It just had to be today of all days that it flares like this, I feel like I'm failing my own damn son."

"You are doing nothing of the sort, it's clear as day how much that boy adores both yourself and Yamada, he's a kind child, he understands why you can't be with him today. He's clearly more worried about you than he is attending the funeral."

"Take care of him… please." Aizawa's soft tone asked.

Toshinori nodded.

"With everything I have."
