Chapter 178
Laetitia was in the Med Bay, sitting on the side of a bed.
As unlucky as any other Skywalkers, when Luke was on the patrol, that Leah did NOT know about, he was lost and injured. It took him 2 hours in the bacta tank to be able to open his eyes again.
"Ow!" Luke winced in pain as he woke up.
He took a minute to get things straight and realize where he was, what was happening. When he remembered, he knew the reason why his sister was giving him the death glare that ate his flesh.
"Hi." He innocently said.
Leah just frowned in anger and hit him in the shoulder.
"Ow! Is that how you're supposed to treat your sick brother, who you love very much?!" He asked as he rubbed his arm.
"Don't do that again! I was so worried about you." Leah said with tears in her eyes.
"I'm fine. I swear, I am alright." He reassured her.
Leah chuckled softly as she hugged her brother. She needed to comfort both of them. Maybe her more than him.
"Why is it that whenever I let you out of my side, you always get into trouble?" She said as she gave him a fake-anger look.
Luke just smiled and shrugged. He could not deny that. She slowly broke the hug with a serious and concerned expression on her face.
"What the hell happened, anyway? When Han brought you in, you were in a pretty bad shape, but your mind was the worst." She stated, not forgetting how broken he was.
Luke sighed as he looked away from her. He didn't know how to tell her.
"What?"
"I saw Ben." He quickly said.
Leah blinked in surprise. She hadn't been able to see Obi-wan since 6 years ago when he died. She tried to talk to him in the Force, but he always hid himself.
"Ben? As in Obi-wan?"
"Yeah. He told me to give you a message ... Apparently, you need to go to a Dagobah System?" He explained, not sure if he was right.
Now, Leah was completely shocked. Dagobah? Where Yoda was? Why would she need to go there? What was there that she needed to go now? What had changed?
"It is time you learn the truth, Laetitia." Obi-wan's voice ran through her head.
Leah moved her head, trying to find where it came from. Did he just talk to her? He hadn't in a long time. What truth? She already knew everything there was to know ... didn't she?
"I don't know if I got that right." Luke said.
"Oh, no ... You did." Leah replied as she sighed.
"Really? What's there?"
"Not 'what' ... 'Who'... He wants to go see Master Yoda." Leah muttered in frustration.
Luke frowned in confusion. He needed to take a minute to remember who she was talking about. Yoda ... He had heard a lot of stories about Yoda from Ahsoka, but not Leah. He had a feeling she didn't like him very much.
"Master Yoda? You mean the 'green, wrinkly, little dude that talks backwards', as you put it?" He asked, repeating the exact words Leah used to describe him.
"Yeah, that would be the one."
"Well, why does he want you to see him? You're no longer a Jedi."
"I don't know." Leah suspiciously said as she sighed. It was all weird.
Suddenly, Ahsoka, Rex, Han, Chewie, R2 and BB-8 entered the room. They were all worried about Luke, but Laetitia could swear 3PO was the worst. That droid was annoyingly sweet like that.
"Master Luke, sir, it's so good to see you fully functional again. Mistress Letty was very worried about you." The droid stated.
Luke just smiled and nodded as he rubbed R2 on the 'head'. He, too, liked droids very much ... Maybe too much.
"You sure you're alright?" Ahsoka asked.
"Well, I've had better days ... But I'm fine. Functional again. So you guys should really stop worrying." He told them.
Rex and Ahsoka smiled. He was as stubborn as his father and sister when it came to medical attention.
"How are you feeling, kid? You don't look so bad to me. In fact, you look strong enough to pull the ears off a Gundark." Han joked as he walked to Luke.
Luke just chuckled as he glared at the hand Han put at his shoulder.
"Thanks to you."
"That's 2 you owe me, junior." He stated, putting his fingers up.
Once he was done with Luke, he turned back to Laetitia, who was merely observing as the two 'brothers' talked. Luke still didn't know Han was leaving. Leah hadn't told him, not that she knew what to say.
She was so mad at him for making that decision.
"Well, Your Worship, looks like you managed to keep me around for a little while longer." Han told Leah, who only scoffed in response.
"Believe it or not, I had nothing to do with it. General Rieekan thinks it's dangerous for any ships to leave the system until we've activated the energy shield. We are still settling in, you know. It hasn't been that long that we've been here."
"That's a good story ... But I think you just can't bear to let your gorgeous brother out of your sight. You need me." He stated, looking proud.
"I honestly have no idea where you get your delusions, Laser Brain." Leah shot back, shaking her head in fake disappointment.
Ahsoka, Rex and Luke held back their chuckle. Their bickering was as funny and intense as usual. It was a sight!
Han turned to Chewie, who was roaring and laughing at the same time.
"Laugh it up, Fuzzball." He said in irritation as he walked closer to Leah.
"You guys weren't there. In the hallway, when I told her I was leaving, she expressed what a valuable friend I am. What she feels about me."
"You mean when I called you a Bantha? You're right. I did mean that." Leah sarcastically said.
Now, everyone was laughing. Even Han had no idea how to answer to that. Did she really just ...
"I was almost afraid I'd miss this!" Luke said, laughing.
"This was something to miss!" Ahsoka agreed with him.
"I know! I couldn't die before I saw this!"
"Headquarters personnel, report to Command Center. Headquarters personnel, report to Command Center." Someone announced through the whole Base.
Laetitia, Ahsoka, Rex and Han exchanged a worried look. What the hell was happening? Why did they all need to report in? Did something happen?
"Take it easy, buddy." Han told Luke, who tried to get up.
"What's happening?" He asked Leah, who just shook her head.
"I don't know ... Might be a procedure test thing or something."
"C'mon. Let's go check it out." Ahsoka said.
"Um ..." Leah's hesitation stopped the others. Why was she hesitating?
"What? You got something more important to do, Leader?" Han asked.
"Well ... I'll check it out, but I have to go somewhere." She slowly said.
"What do you mean?" Ahsoka demanded.
"Where are you going?" Rex asked.
"Dagobah System ... I have to see Master Yoda." She quietly said, not to let the others know.
Ahsoka and Rex blinked in surprise. They saw how defensive she was when the idea was brought up. She was strongly against having to do anything with the Grand Master. What changed her mind?
"Why? Everything alright?" Ahsoka asked in concern.
"That's what I would like to find out." Leah muttered. She had a bad feeling about this.
"Listen, I'll go there and see what it's about. If he wants to come with me, I'll bring him, but ... I still don't think it's a good idea." She said.
She didn't know if she wanted to work with another Jedi again. Master Yoda was an experienced General and a wise Jedi ... but that was the problem. He was a bit too 'Jedi'. He would never bend the rules to win the fight against the Empire. She wasn't, either, but ... there were a few lines she was willing to cross while the Jedi disagreed.
He didn't even know that Laetitia was a Gray Jedi Master. She had no idea how he would react to that.
"If you need to go, you should go right now. If you wait, you may never get another chance to go." Ahsoka said.
"But what about ...?"
"Kid, if there is anything, we will deal with it. You go and deal with your Jedi business. We'll take care of everything when you're gone." Rex reassured her.
"Just remember ... it's not just you, okay? You have another person to worry about." He said in concern.
Leah smiled warmly. He really was acting like a grandfather. Worried about everyone and everything ... And he had a point. If it was up to Leah, she would jump into battlefield as if she wasn't pregnant at all.
"You don't need to remind me." She promised him softly as she turned to Han and glared him coldly.
"You better not be here when I get back." She warned him.
"Wait, where are you going?" Luke asked Han in confusion.
"He'll explain ... I gotta go. See you later, buddy. Be careful." Leah said.
"What do you think is gonna happen? I'm gonna lose a hand or something?" He joked.
"You never know. You're a Skywalker. You might." She seriously replied.
She walked to her brother, kissed him on the head and went to the Comet with BB-8 to see where the Force was leading her, and why.
Unaware of the danger facing everyone in the Base ...
Not so far away, and not so near from Hoth System, the Imperial Star Fleet were closing in on the Rebels, who were unaware of their presence completely. Darth Vader's personal Fleet, the Death Squadron, was there.
On board of the Executor, Darth Vader was watching the space. It was the only thing that he could do and still enjoy a bit. Looking at the stars was relaxing.
"Admiral." Captain Piett hurried to his Admiral, on the ship.
"Yes, Captain?" Admiral Ozzel asked as he walked away from the HoloTables.
"I think we've got something, sir. The report is only a fragment from a probe droid in the Hoth System, but it's the best lead we've had." He informed, but Ozzel sighed in irritation. That wasn't good enough.
"We have thousands of probe droids searching the Galaxy. I want proof, not leads!"
"The visuals indicate life readings." He defended himself.
"It could mean anything. If we followed every lead ..." Ozzel tried to say, but Piett interrupted him.
"But, sir, the Hoth System is supposed to be devoid of human forms ... And ... these are the coordinates our spy within the Rebellion has sent us. They are in the Hoth System."
Before Ozzel could argue or even take the tablet, a cold chill ran through the entire room as Darth Vader entered. He walked to the men, analyzing the image of the Rebel Base
"You found something?" He demanded.
"Yes, my Lord. The spy has sent us the coordinates. We are approaching the place, and ..." Piett was saying, but Vader was so sure. He could feel the Force on the planet.
"That's it. The Rebels are there." He confirmed.
"My Lord, there are so many uncharted settlements. It could be smugglers, it could be..." Ozzel tried to argue, but Vader cut him off.
"That is the system! And I'm sure Skywalker is with them. Set your course for the Hoth System. General Veers, prepare you men."
Done :)
