~Tyrion~

What have I done to you? The thought, pained, as I watched her lay amongst the many pillows. Hair haloed around her. She frowned, lips moving silently as she seemed to fight an invisible force.

"Elena?" I called softly, taking her hand, pressing it against my cheek. An animalistic snarl fell from her lips, eyes snapping open, as a fist swung, catching me in the jaw. The ground met my back as she bound from the bed, eyes wild.

"Elena. Please." I groaned, rubbing the pain away, as I slowly stood.

"What were you doing?" She rasped, legs not strong enough to match the fight thriving in cold eyes.

"You'll hurt yourself. Please, let me help you." I insisted, standing and offering my hand. She eyed me with deep distrust, but logic dictated that she needed help, so she cautiously took my hand, her other using the bed frame as leverage. A hiss of pain whooshed past her parched lips, red blossoming again the white of her night dress.

"Let me get the Grand Maester." I urged, turning towards the door.

"You will do no such thing." She growled, removing her dress in one smooth motion, either not noticing, or not bothering to care, that blood was dripping onto the floor while she made her way to the wardrobe. A pain, like a knife piercing my heart, nearly drove me to my knees as I took her in. Her once smooth unblemished skin, now marked with a constellation of scars and bruises.

"I didn't leave you." I spoke up, surprising myself, as I stepped closer. She cast a cold glare over her shoulder, though an eyebrow rose in enquiry. "I was kidnapped by Jorah Morment. It was quite an exhausting affair." She started laughing then, hands gripping her side as her shoulders shook.

"Elena?" She turned, mirthy tears dripping along flushed cheeks.

"I suppose you had your fill of new faces." I wondered at her change in attitude, wondering if her mind had finally cracked.

"Elena. I-"

"I have matters to attend. I'm sure that you have more important business." She interrupted, pulling on a pair of leather pants, before walking over to redo her dressings. Now's your chance to fix things.

"I could join you. As Hand, I should get to know the lay of land." She looked at me, face void of expression, and I almost regretted speaking.

"As you wish."
