Pain
Sakura opted to tell the truth or as much of it as she could at the time. "Does it hurt?" Kenton shrugged but wouldn't look up at her. She had a feeling he thought that something about his behavior was bad. "Sweetie, does it hurt?"
"Sometimes."
Sakura stared at her son and fought back the tears as she realized what was coming. "It hurts the most when it's just the two of us, doesn't it?"
Kenton didn't reply, and that was answer enough. Sakura scooped the boy up in her arms and held him close to her chest while rocking him back and forth. "I love you, Kenton. Mommy loves you so much."
