Hours later, the sky was dark blue. Olivia was sleeping. Fitz was downstairs cleaning the dinner dishes.

"My baby is sick!"

"What?"

"She's throwing up."

Fitz turned off the water and ran up the stairs. Mellie's baby was choking on spit up. He took her out of the bassinet and wiped her mouth with a burp cloth.

"Why does she throw up after drinking her bottle?"

"You gave her a bottle?"

"She was hungry."

"The baby can't drink a bottle laying flat. You call me or mom when she needs something."

"Can I read her a bedtime story?"

"Yes, and then you need to go to sleep."

Fitz sat in the rocking chair with the baby and Karen sat beside him on the floor with the book Goodnight Moon."

She yawned when she finished reading the book. The baby was sleep. Now he could sleep.

"I'm going to sleep now." Karen said, yawning again.

"Goodnight Karen."

He put the baby in the bassinet and turned off the light in the nursery. The soft glow from the nightlight was enough for the babies. Hopefully, they all would sleep the whole night. Tomorrow, he was calling Mellie again. They didn't even know the baby's name. He was upset with Mellie. Yet, he felt pity for her. This was very different for him. He was usually breaking down, and she was always there to listen. Now, she needed his help. The timing was awful. He could give her one more day. If she couldn't pull herself together, he was going to find Jake. They needed to figure out something for the baby. Fitz and Olivia couldn't handle any more babies.

Fitz pulled Olivia into his arms. He knew she was tired, but they were holding their marriage together. He was seeing a different side of Olivia. Since she didn't have a job anymore, she lived in sweatpants and t-shirts. No makeup. Her straight hair stayed curly all day or pulled back in a ponytail. He was paying all of the bills. It would be a few more weeks before she could move fast around the house. He was looking forward to working out with Olivia. The school year was almost over and they could walk around the jogging path with Karen and the babies. He was happy.
