One second he and Hizashi were watching TV and the next they were thrown into pitch darkness.

"Well that's fun…"

Hitoshi turned on his phone screen for some light.

"I wonder if it's the whole campus?" Hitoshi asked.

"Probably not. I wonder if the power's off into the dorms too." Hizashi smirked. "Knowing your Dad he'll be completely oblivious in his office."

"And I was right"

Shouta was in fact sat in the dark in his office typing away on his laptop.

"Hmm?" The erasure hero turned to his husband.

"Power's out in the 1-A dorms and some of the houses on the West side."

"Oh." This piece of information clearly caught him by surprise. "Nice of my class to come and tell me."

Footsteps approached.

"Sleepover!"

Shouta scoffed.

"Nemuri you are a child."

She smirked.

"Oh live a little, it'll be fun."

"I take it the power went off for you all too?" Came the voice of Toshinori. "Will you be needing help over here?"

Shouta scrubbed a hand down his face.

"I'm not incapable of dealing with a blackout you know, there really doesn't need to be four of us."

"Oh stop being a grump." Nemuri elbowed him in the side.

Shouta retaliated by shoving her back which only escalated further as neither side relented.

Hizashi shook his head.

"We'll just send the kids to bed and then hang around in the common room just in case. Shouta's the dorm parent tonight so I obviously don't mind staying with him."

"I already said, sleepover!"

"Stop calling it that we're thirty!" Shouta retorted.

"Just 'cause you're secretly fifty!"

"Ohhhhh sure, at least I don't bore people to sleep…"

"THAT'S NOT HOW MY QUIRK WORKS!"

"You sure?"

Toshinori furrowed an eyebrow.

"Have they always been like this?"

Hizashi smirked.

"Oh yeah… but they love each other really."

Nemuri grinned.

"Awww do you really Sho Sho?"

"Like hell, and I told you not to call me that!"

Hizashi turned to Toshinori.

"Let's go sort the kids out."

The number one smirked.

"And here I thought Shouta was one of the quiet ones."

"He usually is, but those two… let's just say bicker to show they care."

"I often forget how long the three of you have been friends."

Shouta took a hold of his husband's arm and allowed himself to be guided over the couch. He allowed time for Hizashi to get comfortable in the corner seat before joining him, the voice hero's arms reaching out to coax him closer. He smiled as he rest against his husband's side.

"Was Toshi alright with having to swap over here?"

"Yeah, Kacchan was around when we got here so they're sharing for the night."

He nodded.

"He'll be fine then."

"Without going into any detail, thanks for being there for him the other day, Toshinori." Hizashi thanked.

The number one shook his head.

"You don't have to thank me for that, I care about the boy and it was just part of my duty of care."

"Still, he trusted you enough to open up so thanks for being a friend to him."

Toshinori smiled.

"The pleasure is all mine, he's a great kid."

"Soooo, considering Toshinori here didn't go to school with us I was thinking that we should all shares stories of UA, I'm so curious to hear what it was like back when you went." Nemuri announced.

"It probably wasn't that much different."

"Let me think… oooh, I know one. Did you know that model grade-A student Hizashi here once got suspended?"

"Really?"

"Oh I forgot about that." Shouta admitted.

Hizashi rubbed the back of his head.

"Yeah, not one of my proudest moments."

He heard Hizashi's scream, his quirk causing even the floor beneath them to rumble.

And then he heard nothing at all.

Shouta cried out, hands scrambling at his ears where he felt streams of warm blood trickling from them.

The vibrations through the floor stopped a few seconds later before more followed which he recognised as footsteps approaching.

Hands came to touch him which he tried to bat away, unable to know who they belonged to, was it someone in the class or just Hizashi?

One of the hands came to gently take his as it tried to coax it towards something. He initially fought it but what his hand came to touch was familiar.

It was Oboro's jacket.

Tightening his grip he clung to it like a lifeline in the void he found himself in. He didn't know where Hizashi was but he knew he'd be freaking out. It wasn't the voice hero's fault, he'd been too close to him when he'd used his quirk and received the punishment for being so, but he knew Hizashi and their teacher weren't gonna' see it that way.

More hands followed a lot less steady than the first.

Vibrations on the floor seemed to indicate to him the rest of their class being moved back.

All hands on him disappeared. Shouta tried to catch Oboro's hand, but with no point of reference, just ended up catching air instead.

Something strong and potent was blown towards him and then he remembered nothing else.

Returning from wherever the hell he'd been was nauseating, as was still not being able to hear. He never realised how off-balance he would be without it.

It sucked.

Someone's breath appeared against his face which he could only presume was a person leaning in. He received his answer a few seconds later as a kiss was pressed to his head.

Recovery Girl.

Nothing happened immediately, as he had expected it to but five minutes later his ears began to ring.

"Guh."

Fuck it hurt.

One by one various levels of activity around him returned and each was more painful that the last.

As he was hovering between consciousness and unconsciousness he began to hear raised voices.

"...it doesn't matter what your intent was you were too reckless! Thankfully we have Recovery Girl on our staff otherwise Aizawa would been permanently deaf! I watched the footage back and you didn't even check to see what distance away everyone was around you before using your quirk, you just ignored all the safety guidelines put in place for training regarding safe quirk use and did whatever the hell you wanted!"

He faded before he could attempt to say anything.

"Hey Shouta, you alive in there?"

He groaned.

"Yeah." His voice felt hoarse.

Pushing himself upright he leant back against the wall, scrubbing a hand down his face.

"Where's Hizashi?"

Oboro's prolonged silence told him everything he needed to know.

"He uhh... got suspended."

Shouta's eyes widened.

"What?!"

"It's just for a few days, but the principal couldn't ignore the fact that without Recovery Girl you would have been deaf."

"But he didn't mean-."

"He still hurt you, Sho." Oboro reminded.

Desperately wanting to change the subject he exhaled.

"How long have I been in here?"

"Six hours, healing you up took a lot of energy you clearly didn't have."

"What knocked me-?" He rubbed at his eye before sensing the second presence on a chair beside the bed.

Nemuri.

"Oh as if I didn't know."

"Hey, you were freaking out; I was trying to be nice." She retorted.

And she was right.

Shouta sighed.

"I know. Sorry... it's just been a weird day."

Nemuri seemed to accept his apology.

Feeling for the edge of the bed he swung his legs round before wobbling unsteadily to his feet. Finding his balance he felt hands steady him.

"Hey, should you really be up and around so soon?" Oboro asked in concern.

"I'm not injured anywhere and my hearing's more or less back, I'll be fine, don't worry about it."

"Can I at least walk you home; I don't think I'd be able to stop worrying if I didn't?"

Shouta smiled.

"Sure."

He offered his elbow.

His senses being fucked around had left him with one hell of a migraine. Lying across the couch in the living room he grit his teeth against the pounding in his head.

Light footsteps approached as the edge of the couch dipped very slightly. Soon small hands came to pat at his chest before…

"Sho sho?"

A smile came to his face.

Reaching out for his little brother he wrapped his arms around him and lifted him to lie against his chest.

"Hey, buddy."

"Sho okay?"

"I'm fine, Kacchan, you don't need to worry, okay?"

"Do you want some green tea, sweetie?" Came the voice of Mitsuki.

He pushed himself upright with the little bundle.

"I would love some if you don't mind?"

"Of course not."

She returned a few minutes later.

"Here."

"Thanks."

He positioned his brother so that he wasn't at risk of being burnt by the hot cup as he continued to huddle into him.

"Oboro was really worried when he brought you home."

"I'm fine, Mitsuki, I promise, it's Hizashi I'm worried about; you know how sensitive he is about his quirk, this'll have really not helped that."

"He needs to be more careful, you could have been-."

"But I wasn't, and that's all that matters. Hizashi got ditched by his parents after he deafened them when he was a baby, he's already terrified of his quirk and he once told me it took him a long time to ever feel up to using it. Going to UA was his chance to fully learn how to control his quirk so that he can become a hero and now he's suspended and probably terrified that I hate him because of some dumb mistake."

He took a breath.

"I don't care what anyone says, it was as much my fault as it was his. The only reason I didn't get told I needed to be more careful too is because I'm blind. If it had been any other student in our class then our tutor would've shouted just as much as he did at Hizashi because he would've said they should've been aware of their surroundings too."

"Shouta…"

"I don't want to be let off for things just because I can't see; I'm not going to grow stronger otherwise. I need to be able to team up with other heroes, especially Hizashi and that means knowing where he is and when I need to brace myself for his quirk and I can't do that if he's suspended."

"It's just for a few days, sweetie."

"That's still too long for something that was a mistake."

Mitsuki sighed.

"There's not really much you can do about it now."

"I know… I just-."

Footsteps approached before a hand came to rest on his cheek.

"You're a sweet kid, Shouta, but you can't help everyone not matter how much you might try. Take some time to rest and try not to let this whole thing bring you down."

"It's hard."

"I know, but you're strong."

He felt Mitsuki remove a sleeping Kacchan from his chest before she leant down and pressed a kiss to his crown.

"Get some sleep, sweetie, you'll feel better in the morning."

"Oboro Shirakumo; he's the boy with a plaque in the memorial garden, right?"

Hizashi nodded.

"The garden was a memorial to him; but he would have hated it though, if you knew Oboro then you'd know he was not the kind of person who would be interested in something like that."

Nemuri smirked.

"He'd be the first to tear the thing up; he'll probably be pissed up there because we haven't done it on his behalf."

Shouta smiled before exhaling deeply.

"God I miss him."

"Same."

"Me too."

He looked to Toshinori.

"Your mentor, uhh, Gran Torino? He was a teacher here back when you were a student, right?"

"Yeah."

"Is that the guy Zuku did his placement with?" Hizashi asked.

Shouta nodded.

"I graduated from UA and then he sent me off to America to keep me safe."

"There were people you needed to be safe from… with a quirk like yours?"

"I wasn't as strong back then, not mentally anyway; I'd just lost someone important to me, someone I saw as a mother-figure and it kind of… it made me doubt myself and my ability to save the people I cared about."

The room was quiet for a few seconds before Shouta spoke up.

"So what did you do in America, aside from appear on Sesame Street?"

Nemuri nearly choked on her drink.

"Wait, what?!"

"Oh yeah, did you not know about that?"

"NO! How the hell do you?!"

Shouta smirked.

"Two words, Kacchan and Zuku; plus I caught them watching it with Toshi a couple of days ago, Mr. Might here made a new appearance apparently."

Toshinori chuckled.

"Yes I did."

"Ohhhhh, that's so cute!" Hizashi and Nemuri fawned.

"You would be proud of him, Zashi, his English is perfect."

"I wouldn't say it was perfect."

"It's a thousand times better than mine." Shouta reassured.

"That doesn't take much; I used to do your English homework for you…" Hizashi grumbled.

"It was pointless!"

"How dare you!"

Nemuri smirked at the bickering couple before turning to Toshinori.

"So what did you do in America?"

"Well I went to a college there, that's where I met David Shield."

"Wait, the guy who nearly got all the kids killed at the Expo, you knew that guy?!" The voice hero's eyes widened.

"Yeah, did young Midoriya or Master Shinsou not mention that?"

"No they didn't."

"I must apologise for what happened back on I-Island, it was not my intention to involve your younger brother in what took place when I invited him."

"Hey don't be, he was over the moon to get an invite, and from you nonetheless, plus the kid's didn't even come back after it happened we just got a phone call from Toshi, Zuku, and Kacchan telling us how they'd taken down some villain guy and were currently eating their way through a bunch of free food the stall holders kept giving them for helping out." Shouta explained.

"Yeah, they weren't exactly fazed by any of it; I think they all just see it as training."

Toshinori scoffed.

"That class of yours, they're really something special, aren't they?"

"I'm pretty proud."

"Awww, Dadzawa strikes again." Nemuri teased in a stupid voice.

"At least my class like me…"

"What did you say?!"

He laughed.
