Chapter 89: Hell's Bells
As the Council cowered in fear, Declan merely pushed his glasses up in annoyance.
"I'm afraid I have no interest in speaking to my father. Now unless you want to befall the same fate as your underlings, I suggest you turn around and take your toys elsewhere."
The Commander laughed coldly.
"Figures you'd be so stubborn. Oh well, if you wish to do things the hard way..."
A duel anchor latched itself around Declan's wrist, tying the two together.
"...I'll just have to take you by force. You three, take care of the brat."
"Sir, yes Sir!"
His three underlings surrounded Riley, who backed away in fear.
"Do not be afraid, Riley. I believe in you."
Reassured by Declan's words, Riley faced his opponents head on. His brother's confidence restored, Declan turned his attention back to his captor.
"Since you know who I am, its only fair that I know who my opponent is."
"Heh, why not? It'll be the last name you ever hear. Name's Zane Truesdale, the best duelist in Duel Academy. Or as some of my soldiers have taken to calling me, Hell Kaiser."
"Well then, Kaiser, shall we get to it?"
"Yes. Lets."
DUEL!
Declan: 4000
Zane: 4000
"Since I'm the one fighting for my freedom, I'll go first. And to start, I activate the spell cards Dark Contract with the Gate and Dark Contract with the Swamp King! First, my Dark Contract with the Gate lets me add a D/D monster from my deck to my hand, and I choose D/D/D Doom King Armageddon. Next, Dark Contract with the Swamp King allows me to fuse him with D/D/D Supreme King Kaiser in order to summon D/D/D Oblivion Wave King Caesar Ragnarok! I set one card face down and end my turn."
"Brave of you to Fusion Summon against me, but rest assured it will do you no good! I-"
"Before you do anything else, I activate my trap card Give and Take. Now in exchange for giving you control of a monster in my graveyard, one of my monsters increases its level by that monster's. I choose D/D/D Doom King Armageddon (10-18)."
"Interesting strategy, Declan, but I've already won. I activate the spell card Power Bond, fusing the two Cyber Dragons in my hand to Fusion Summon Cyber Twin Dragon (2800/2100)! And the fun doesn't stop there, because Cyber Twin Dragon's attack points now double (2800-5600). Of course, I'll take damage equal to his original attack when my turn ends, but since Cyber Twin Dragon can attack twice per turn, that won't be a problem! Cyber Twin Dragon, attack!"
"Caesar Ragnarok's effect activates. When he battles, by returning a D/D or Dark Contract I control to my hand, I can equip one of your monsters besides his opponent to him and give him that monster's attack points. I return Dark Contract with the Swamp King in order to absorb my Doom King."
"What (3200-6200)?"
Caesar Ragnarok absorbed Doom King Armageddon before unleashing a massive wave of energy, pushing back Cyber Twin Dragon's own attack and destroying it all without leaving his throne.
Zane: 3400
Zane smirked, feeling an odd rush of adrenaline.
"Not bad. Being able to effortlessly turn the tide of battle and deal me damage. You truly are Leo's son."
"I am nothing like my father. Now finish your turn."
"As you wish. Since I have a Cyber Dragon in my graveyard, I can activate Cyber Repair Plant to add the third one to my hand. And since you have a monster and I don't, I get to special summon it (2100/1600). Next, I summon Cyber Dragon Core, which lets me add Cybernetic Overflow from my deck to my hand. Next, I activate the spell card Photon Generator Unit, sacrificing my two Cyber Dragons to special summon Cyber Laser Dragon (2400/1800) in attack mode! Hope you weren't too attached to your monster, because Cyber Laser Dragon can destroy it since it has more attack points than it does!"
Declan didn't even flinch as Zane's mechanical dragon destroyed his king with a pinpoint laser.
"Stoic as ever, I see. I activate Foolish Burial to send Proto Cyber Dragon from my deck to the graveyard. I'll end my turn with one card face down."
"Careful. Your overconfidence will be your downfall. Since it is my Standby Phase, my Dark Contract with the Gate deals me 1000 points of damage."
Declan: 3000
"A card that actively hurts you? You must be desperate."
"Not desperate, just savvy. Consider it a business investment if you will. First, I activate the spell card Cards of Sanctity, letting us both draw until we hold six cards. Now I activate my Gate's other effect to add D/D Savant Newton to my hand. Now, with him and D/D Savant Copernicus, I set the Pendulum Scale!"
"Pendulums, huh? So this is the new summoning method I've been hearing about. Interesting."
"If you think that's good, then you'll love this. With this scale, I can summon monsters between the levels of 2 and 9 at the same time. Come forth, D/D Cerberus, D/D Orthos (600/1800), D/D/D Oblivion King Abyss Ragnarok (2200/3000), and from my Extra Deck, D/D/D Doom King Armageddon! And when Abyss Ragnarok hits the field, he lets me bring back a D/D/D monster in my graveyard, and I choose D/D/D Supreme King Kaiser (2800/2100)! "
Zane grinned. This was what he lived for.
"Impressive. Hit me with everything you've got!"
"Ask and you shall receive. First, I'll overlay my Orthos and my Cerberus to Xyz Summon D/D/D Wave King Caesar! And by overlaying him again, I can rebuild the overlay network to Xyz Summon D/D/D Marksman King Tell (2300/2000)!"
"Hmm? But what purpose did that serve? Your previous monster was stronger."
"Poetic justice for your crimes against the Xyz Dimension, that's why. Since I took effect damage this turn, Tell's effect lets me detach an overlay unit to take away 1000 of your Dragon's attack points and deal you 1000 points of damage."
Declan's demonic marksman let loose a rain of arrows, piercing both Zane and his monster, weakening them both (2400-1400).
Zane: 2400
"I'm afraid our duel ends here. Marksman King Tell, take out his Cyber Laser Dragon!"
The Xyz monster built up a large shot in his bow before firing, letting loose a massive arrow that vaporized the Dragon and pushed Zane back far.
Zane: 1500
"You fought well, but this duel is over. Supreme King Kaiser, end this duel!"
But Zane smiled wickedly. He had expected that.
"I activate my face down, Cybernetic Overflow! By banishing Cyber Dragons with different levels from my graveyard, I can destroy that many monsters on your field! I banish Cyber Dragon, Cyber Dragon Core, and Proto Cyber Dragon to destroy your three strongest monsters!"
The trap card unleashed a massive wave of energy, destroying Declan's three kings like they were made of paper.
"Well played. I set one card face down and end my turn."
When Zane drew his next card, he grinned.
"You're in for a treat. You'll get to be defeated by my strongest monster."
"Oh? Then stop talking and get on with it."
"Very well. First, I activate the spell card Junk Dealer, allowing me to summon my two Cyber Dragon from my graveyard with half their attack points (2100-1150). Now I activate the spell card Cyberload Fusion! Now by returning monsters on my field or that have been banished to my deck, I can Fusion Summon a monster from my Extra Deck that lists Cyber Dragon as a material! I return my three Cyber Dragons to my deck to Fusion Summon Cyber End Dragon (4000/2800)!"
Declan stared in awe as the three headed behemoth rose up onto the field with a massive screech, sending shockwaves across the building.
"Prepare yourself, Declan, for you are about to enter hell!"
