Hidden Tales From The Chamber of Secrets - 95 - The Warding Trunk
.
Dumbledore considered the matter of Ronald Weasley. The boy had been found, slumped, in front of Harry Potter's school trunk. The boy had no recollection of how he came to be there.
The headmaster contemplated Mr Potter's 'new' trunk. His old one had been falling apart, and he had bought a new trunk over the past summer. A much better made trunk, albeit second hand. He had bought it in a second hand shop in Little Whinging, and Harry had cleaned it up and polished it wonderfully.
Albus came to no conclusion, and decided that the Weasley boy had been pranked and nothing more.
.
Three days later, Dumbledore was given cause to reconsider. Ronald had been found slumped as before, but bearing burns to both his hands and face. As before, he had no knowledge of how he came to be so injured. Indeed, he had no recollection of the entire day previous.
No, Albus thought, the boy had been meddling in something he shouldn't. He forgot all about the incident.
A week later, Ron Weasley was taken to the hospital wing, seriously injured and bearing the results of quite a serious hexing. He had been found slumped against the wall in his dormitory, opposite Mr Potter's new trunk.
When he woke up, Ron Weasley had no idea of what had happened. In fact, he thought that it was still the summer holidays.
The headmaster wanted answers, and they would be coming from Mr Potter's trunk.
The headmaster entered the fifth year Griffindor boys' dorm and approached the trunk belonging to Mr Potter.
He waved his wand, wafted his wand and waggled his wand, casting all manner of diagnostic charms.
The trunk was old, and it was highly magical. The protections on it were formidable.
Albus decided that it was going to be confiscated; he didn't want the Potter boy getting too independent, not too well educated after all.
He swished and flicked the elder wand, intending to levitate the trunk out of the dorm and to his office. Something triggered. The lid of the trunk opened briefly, allowing a number of spells to emerge from somewhere in the depths.
Dumbledore was blasted back, impacting the wall ten feet up, concussing him badly. His wand was ripped from his hand, and it disappeared into the trunk. A flash-fire curse and a blistering hex hit the aging headmaster, and a grey spell emerged. It hit the old man, and he knew nothing more.

Albie woke up in a strange place with lots of beds in it. The people were strangers.
Albie wanted his mummy but there was just the old lady wearing a tartan robe, and a lady wearing a nurse's uniform. Albie thought she smelled funny, like pine trees.
He wanted his mummy ... and he wanted something to eat.
He did what he knew, and stared crying like a baby.
