Anger Management
Chapter 94th
Ann walked into the room with the machinery working to keep her husband alive for now. She was able to look up at the computer screen watching the numbers on his blood pressure, heart, oxygen and so much more.
Pulling over a chair with needing to be careful with lifting items with the pregnancy.
She sat down next to his bed while watching her husband's face still asleep from the operation. She had gotten up for a moment to plant a soft tender kiss onto his cheek feeling warm to her touch.
Sitting back down with taking hold of his hand. She began to talk to him in case he's able to hear her...
"James I really don't know what to do with you at times? Now here we are with a wound to your stomach being shot on the job of all things. Who would've thought something like this was going to happened in the first place?" she commented with needing to take a deep breath feeling the stress...
"I love you, James David Mann. And I hope to god it's going to stay that way for a long time to come?"
She closed her eyes for a moment to relax her body before realizing she had heard a moan escaping from her husband's mouth. She had gotten up quickly.
"Come on James wake up already? A lot of your friends wants to visit you alive and well before going back home to Washington, D.C.
He moaned again with the flutter of his eyes opening trying to adjust to the lighting of the room. He tried to speak with his mouth feeling like mothballs.
"I will give you some ice chips to help with the mothballs feeling James." She was able to take some of the ice chips from the water pitcher. She placed them into his mouth to help.
After a few moments he was feeling better. "Thanks." he croaked it out until he's able to find his voice. "Where am I Ann?"
"Harrisburg medical center. Your team was able to get you out of the warehouse after being shot and before the building was going to blow. You're one lucky man to have friends like that to be so worried for their commanding officer?"
"I don't know about that Ann." he commented trying to move slightly with a grimace.
"What's wrong James?" she asked with concern for her husband.
"Pain in the gut." he says with taking a deep breath to relax until the pain had subsided. "Feeling better now. Can I have more of those ice chips?" he begged.
"Of course! However after I give you the chips. What did you mean by the question I asked about your team?" she suspected but she wanted to hear it from him in the first place.
"Sergeant Hillary Madden. She had been having an real altitude ever since we had that fling a while back. I need to have a talk with her to have her leave or transfer out making it bad for the team." he stated...
"However she did save your life James with her first aid skills?" Ann said trying to defend the woman.
"Anyways she needs to leave to get someone else to take her place." he closes his eyes being tired all of a sudden.
"James are you alright?" she was worried once again...
"Tired Ann. I need to sleep that's all." he commented...
"Alright I will leave you alone even though your friends wants to see you. I will tell them that you're exhausted. Maybe they will be able to come back later."
"Fine." he fell asleep as she left the room to tell his friends.
Moments later...
"I am sorry to hear this Ann. I think it's best to head back to the hotel and get some rest as well. Ann would you want us to give you a ride to the hotel since you're going to be using his suite?" Julius had to stay...
"Please. That is really nice of all of you to be here. But I am sorry that you weren't able to visit my husband?" she replied with placing back on her coat, hat and gloves once they walk outside into the cold.
Meanwhile a nurse came in to check on his vitals while writing down the numbers on his medical chart. She checked his eyes though he was completely out without waking.
Afterwards she stayed sitting with her Grandpad in her pocket to keep her busy as per orders from the doctors since it was obvious his wife had left to come back later...
