Date Night

"Hey! It's only us." AJ called, walking into Cassie's house, hearing music playing from the living room.

"Hey!" Cassie called from the kitchen as Punk and AJ walked through.

"Oh, you look nice." AJ smiled as Cassie stood in a dress, applying the rest of her make-up.

"It's new." Cassie nodded to them, "I treated myself."

"Good for you. As you should." AJ smiled, "We're here to collect the child."

"Theo's just getting him ready upstairs." Cassie said, "Thank you for this. We really appreciate it."

"Hey, we love it." Punk nodded.

"Well I love you." Cassie smiled as Punk folded his arms, looking around the kitchen as he saw the empty bottle of wine over by the trash.

"Getting a head start, are we?" Punk questioned, looking over at the empty bottle of wine as AJ noticed, smiling a little.

"Yes. Problem?" Cassie asked him.

"What are you guys doing again?" AJ asked her.

"We're meeting Theo's brother and his new girlfriend for drinks and dinner. This is just a warm-up." She shrugged.

"A whole bottle of wine?" Punk scoffed.

"Sorry I'm not boring like you." Cassie said.

"Ouch, my feelings are so hurt." Punk exaggerated.

"I'll kick you in the shin with my heel." She promised, "And I won't miss." She assured as Punk scoffed, stepping back a little as AJ smiled.

"Well have a good night, sweetie." AJ nodded.

"Hey! Look who it is." Theo came downstairs with Chase who leaped out of his arms to run to his grandparents.

"Oh, look. Your arm is out of the sling." AJ noticed whilst Punk lifted Chase up.

"Yeah, got it off yesterday." Theo smiled, "Feels good. Strong." He moved his shoulder.

"That's good." AJ smiled, "But still be careful." She warned.

"I will." Theo smiled.

"How's your mom?" AJ asked.

"She's ok. In a lot of pain but that's normal. I've been going around most days to help her with some things." Theo nodded.

"She's lucky she has you." AJ smiled, "Ok, we'll shoot off and let you guys get out."

"Ok, come give mommy a kiss." Cassie said, crouching down as Chase ran over to her.

"Mommy, you look pretty." Chase told her as Cassie smiled.

"You're adorable." Cassie smiled, "I love you." She kissed his cheek, giving him a hug, "Be good, ok?"

"I will." Chase nodded, running to Theo next to give him a hug before AJ and Punk took off.

"When are we leaving?" Cassie asked Theo who opened up the fridge to take out another beer.

"Half an hour." Theo nodded, "You do look pretty." He smiled over to her as Cassie nodded.

"Thank you." Cassie smiled, "You're not so bad yourself."

"You nervous?" Theo asked her.

"Nervous?" Cassie questioned, taking a beer from the fridge.

"Well yeah, we've never met this girl before. And we're both pretty drunk right now." Theo nodded to her.

"I'm fine." Cassie said, "I like making new friends. I'm not Thea." She shook her head.

"Ouch." Theo cringed a little.

"What? Nothing I wouldn't say to her face." Cassie shrugged, "I'm excited to go out. It's been a while since I've seen Matthew too. It'll be nice." She smiled.

"So… we got half an hour." Theo smiled as Cassie looked over to him.

"You can get some later." Cassie assured him as he smiled to himself.

"Just looks so good right now." Theo shook his head, looking across at her as she turned around slowly, "Damn smoke show you are." He nodded as she chuckled, walking over to him as she sat her beer down, wrapping her arms around his neck.

"We might have gotten a little bit too drunk before going out." Cassie realised as he nodded.

"Maybe." Theo laughed a little.

"So… Cassie likes a drink, huh?" Punk said, sitting on the couch later on with AJ where they shared a bag of chips and watched some TV. Chase hadn't long gone to bed.

"You know she does." AJ said.

"She'd already drank a full bottle of wine before going out." Punk said, "Is that… normal?"

"Look, believe me, I know with Thea's problems that it can turn into paranoia with everyone, but Cassie carries her alcohol just fine." AJ assured him, "This is like their date night, right?" She shrugged.

"Still… she reminds me of Dean sometimes, you know that?" Punk nodded fondly.

"Yeah, me too." AJ smiled, "I guess… she spent a lot of time staying with them as a kid. It's how she… loves music so much, because of them." She nodded.

"She liked staying with them?" Punk asked.

"Yeah and… sometimes she didn't really have a choice. When Thea was having a difficult time growing up, poor Cassie and Jude sometimes got shipped off to Dean's for the night. I just didn't want them to see their sister like that, especially so young." AJ nodded, "Jude got older and stopped wanting to stay but Cassie liked staying." AJ smiled.

"Next thing she'll be spitting tobacco." Punk shook his head as AJ chuckled.

"I always think of the girls and… each of them have their own watchful protector. Thea's was always Sam. Always. You were Jude's. And Dean was Cassie's." AJ nodded to herself, "At least, that's how I saw it."

"I do my best to try protect all of them." Punk assured her.

"You know what I mean." AJ nodded to him as she understood.

"And who are you?" Punk asked her as she smiled up at him.

"I'm yours, baby." She smiled.

"And so I get stabbed at my sister's wedding." Cassie explained, sitting in the busy restaurant beside Theo with his brother Matthew and his new girlfriend Lilian sitting across from them, "And he manages to get me to hospital." She pointed to Theo, "But I still think he's dead, so I'm like… wow, maybe I'm dead now." Cassie laughed as Theo chuckled to himself, "And so I wake up and he's like… oh, I had to go to Puerto Rico for a year bla bla bla." Cassie waved her hand.

"Hey, I had important stuff to do." Theo nudged her with a chuckle, taking a drink of his beer.

"Then I get pregnant. Oops." Cassie nodded. Drunk to say the least, "And we have my little baby. His name is Chase."

"I-I know. Matthew has told me about him." Lilian nodded, turning to Matthew who just smiled awkwardly.

"He's the best." Theo nodded.

"Oh, he is." Cassie smiled, "And we were just gonna do the whole thing as friends." She laughed a little.

"So she thought." Theo scoffed.

"Excuse me, I'm gonna go to the bathroom." Lilian nodded, getting up from the table and walking away as Cassie raised a brow.

"She's going to the bathroom an awful lot." Cassie noticed.

"The hell is wrong with you two?" Matthew looked at them both, "Cassie, maybe try coming up for air."

"Hey." Cassie gasped as Theo laughed a little.

"Why are you laughing?" Matthew looked at his older brother, "You're just as annoying as she is." He said, "How much pre drinks did you have?"

"Oh, not much." Cassie shook her head, "Some. A little." She shrugged, taking a sip of her wine.

"Well I think we're gonna just get out of here and… let you two do whatever." Matthew waved his hand.

"Matt, don't be like that. You just gotta catch up." Theo shrugged.

"No, I don't." Matthew rolled his eyes, "I like this girl, you guys are embarrassing me. I should have… brought you out for coffee with her instead."

"She's a little… plastic." Cassie whispered loudly as Matthew groaned, noticing Lilian behind Cassie, coming back from the bathroom.

Lilian coughed loudly as Cassie raised a brow, turning around.

"I think I'll take off now." Lilian announced.

"Yeah, I was just telling them we're gonna go." Matthew agreed.

"It was… pleasure meeting you." Lilian nodded to them both, putting her coat on and heading for the door.

"I'm gonna make your hangover even worse tomorrow. Just you wait." Matthew warned them both, leaving the restaurant as Cassie rolled her eyes.

"They were boring me to tears anyway." Cassie shook her head.

"She heard you call her plastic." Theo nodded to her.

"Well… I didn't know she was behind me." Cassie scoffed, "And she was. I know a nose job when I see it. And a boob job. And Botox."

"I get the point." Theo nodded, "You wanna get out of here and go to Rico's?" He asked her.

"Yeah, let's go." Cassie nodded.

They left the restaurant and arrived at their local bar which wasn't too far from their house. A place they were used to going if they hit the town for the night.

"Do you remember when we used to just come here as friends?" Theo smiled, sitting at the bar with her, turned into face her as she smiled.

"Yeah." Cassie smiled.

"You'd yap on about not believing in love, telling me it's overrated." Theo smiled to himself, drinking his beer.

"Guess I hadn't fallen in love yet then." Cassie said as Theo nodded.

"Guess not." He said.

"Can I get you two any more drinks?" Rico, the bar owner approached them behind the bar.

"No, we're all good." Cassie smiled.

"So where's the little man tonight?" Rico asked them.

"He's with my parents." Cassie smiled, "Asleep right now hopefully." Cassie looked at the time, a little hazy to see from the alcohol gone to her head.

"How are your parents? Not seen them in a while. Saw your aunt and uncle last weekend." Rico told her.

"They're doing good." Cassie said.

"It's what I like to hear." Rico nodded, "Shout me if you need anything." He said, walking off down the bar as Cassie smiled, turning to Theo, noticing something out of the corner of her eye.

"What?" Theo turned around to where she was looking.

"N-Nothing… I thought I just saw…" Cassie shook her head, "Nothing." She said as he turned back to her.

"Well hey cheers to being a little irresponsible tonight, and making my brother so mad that weird vein in his head began to pop out a little." Theo nodded to her, hitting her beer off hers as she smiled.

"Yeah, cheers." She laughed a little, leaning in and kissing him.
