Kagome dove to the side as a clawed hand came dangerously close to her face.

Inuyasha was angry all right.

If anything, she'd say that he was seething.

The teen's face was flushed a bright shade of red. She could hear his teeth grinding against each other as he launched himself after her over and over again.

Inuyasha wasn't just looking to win, he was looking to destroy.

Azure eyes thinned as she leapt out of his range.

"Not too bad. You're pretty spry for a guy that was so slow during the obstacle course." Kagome slapped her palm to the tiled floor of the arena, "But I'd like to see you dodge this!"

Shards burst from the ground, splitting off and rushing forward much the way an ocean's wave would break against the beach.

The only thing that was going to stop Inuyasha was an all out offensive attack. She could not give him any chance to use his ability. The closer to a total knock out she got for him, the better.

"Get back here!" Inuyasha attempted to jump over the shards hurtling at him.

Kagome braced her shoulders as she caught the bottom half of his foot.

"Nah I think I'll stay right here," Her lips curled up into a smirk. "You on the other hand are shit out of luck."

The shards that encircled his foot quickly shot up his leg, over his hips and torso until even his arms remained completely encased.

He wasn't going to go anywhere.

The young woman took to her feet. She dusted off her gym pants as she scanned the damage she'd done.

It was a quick victory but a satisfying one at least.

"Damn it, this isn't over yet!" Inuyasha thrashed against the shell holding him in place. "I'm not finished!"

"Well it won't be over if you're able to break free but good luck doing that." She folded her arms over her chest confidently, "So far there has only been one person who's managed to escape this technique. Let's see if you've got what it takes to make number two on that list."

The match was over.

There was no need to egg him on.

Yet the more she looked at his furious expression, the more she wanted him to know just who it was that handed him his defeat.

Her fingers flexed at the thought.

Useless!

Kagome pressed her palm against the side of her ear.

Worthless!

She closed her eyes as she fought back the sound of Inuyasha's voice.

Why... was that so familiar?

What were these memories?

Were they memories?

She shook her head. It didn't matter. She had to focus!

Kagome met his gaze sharply, "I will not be defeated by you."

The echo of another voice similar to her own rang inside of her mind.

Something was wrong.
