The next part of Olivia's day involved a surprise. But not for Alex this time.

Someone else, entirely.

Now she was in the company of the elder Sophia, leading her down one corridor that lay nowhere near the patient rooms. A plan was afoot.

"Lieutenant, I do know every nook and cranny of this place. What is going on?"

Olivia answered Sophia's question with a question. "What is your name? All this, and I don't even know that."

"It's Miller. My whole name is Sophia Henley Miller."

Olivia finally stopped at the door to one conference room in particular, setting her hand on the doorknob. "That is a nice name. Sophia Henley Miller, say hello to my family."

She opened the door.

And Sophia felt like all of the breath had just left her body. With reason.

She was able to pick out Alex, Casey, and the other Sophia in the small crowd before her. Everybody else... the rest of Olivia's family. What a sight to behold.

Olivia felt such pride, watching Sophia take everything in. This is exactly what she had been hoping for.

And what a turn out.

Harper. Casey's parents. Every Novak sibling. Amanda and Carisi. Dominick Senior and Solomia. Elliot. Fin. Melinda. Judge Donnelley. Bill and Molly Cabot. Every Stabler sibling. Private First Class Zacharias Levi McFadden. Melissa, Jaxon and DJ, Noah, Jesse, Serena, Junior and Zoelle, and little Olivia were also present. Rounding out the group were the newest family treasures.

Dominick Abramo the third.

Billie Alexis.

Henry Augustín Benoît.

Agnes Olivia Violet.

Esme Alexandra Beth.

Diana Pearl.

Amanda Sapphire.

Olivia turned to Sophia. "There are only two parties missing, whom I hope you can meet in the future, but what do you think?"

Sophia scrambled for the right thoughts. Never had she ever witnessed a miracle of this magnitude.

"Olivia, I'm so proud of you." Sophia told her friend. "Who all do we have here?"

"This gathering includes my family, friends who became family, those who imprinted on each other, long-lost kin found, angels who fell from the sky, one child I helped to deliver, several surrogate parents, children of those I love more than I can say, my niece and my nephew, and even my grandchildren. Absolutely none of us would be here today if you hadn't taken care of me after I gave my daughter up."

Olivia hugged Sophia.

"Thank you for everything."

Sophia was even more of an emotional mess than she had been during her initial reunion with Olivia. Her life would never be the same. And that was exciting.

She returned the hug and held Olivia out at arms' length so she could look at her. "You are so welcome. Now my heart is overflowing with happiness for you and all that's happened. May I meet everyone, please?"

"Of course! I'd love nothing more, and my family knows just how important you are to us." Olivia pulled out a chair for Sophia. "Have a seat."

Sophia did.

Olivia watched as one by one, each family introduced themselves to their guest of honor. Everything was perfect.

But Olivia stepped out into the hallway after awhile. Elliot noticed. He let her have a few moments before going to check on her.

"You're missing the party." Elliot said gently. "Are you alright?"

"El, I did it." Olivia told him. "Every dream I've ever had for myself and for everyone I love has finally come true. At last."

"That's gotta be a wonderful feeling. Don't think I don't remember all those conversations we had in the old days, when you were wondering about your future. Or else fretting about it on my front step."

Olivia blushed. Vivid memories of driving out to the Stabler house on her more sleepless nights came rushing back. That seemed like a lifetime ago.

"How did you put up with me back then?"

Elliot shrugged. "I think that we came into each other's lives exactly when we had to. Look at everything that happened. Riddle me this, Liv—do you think any of the rest of... all of it would have taken place if I'd stayed?"

"No." admitted Olivia. "You also went through a lot. And your kids. It seems now like all of you have made it past all that. Each of you are in your own fresh starts. Am I wrong?"

"Uh-uh. Everything that happened during these years apart had to happen so that we could find our way back to each other again." Elliot said thoughtfully. "Now I plan on being at SVU until I retire."

"Me, too." said Olivia. "Can you believe it? Both of us grew up."

Then a sudden thought of a memory from earlier in the day crossed Olivia's mind. She began checking her pockets for something. It was important.

Finally, she pulled out a small toy.

"I found this earlier." she pressed it into one of Elliot's hands. "Maybe God remembered how cute you were as a carrot."

Olivia hugged Elliot, and then went back to the conference room.

Elliot watched her go before looking down to see what Olivia had given him. It was one stuffed toy carrot.

Memories of his years of partnership with Olivia came rushing back. So many. Good, bad, tragic, amazing, wonderful. But... all of them had made him exactly who he was today.

Would he change any of that? Not a bit.

Why? Because he finally knew, after the whirlwind of these past months, that he was exactly where he was meant to be. And he was loving every moment of it.

These were the days to remember.

And he couldn't be more at peace.
