This is hands down my favorite chapter in the whole story. I hope you like it just as much.

April 16

Rin is home safely and Inuyasha have and I spent the past few days at home recovering from our trip. There's only one problem: I've been so sick!

Ever since we got back home I've had awful headaches throughout the day and I've been so tired all the time. Not to mention I can hardly keep my breakfast down every morning.

Yesterday, Inuyasha came home in the afternoon and found me asleep in bed. It was evening when I woke up and he was sitting next to me watching me with a worried look on his face.

"How do you feel?" he asked when I finally woke up.

"Better than before," I said as I yawned. "How long have I been asleep?"

"Hours." He put his hand on my forehead. "You don't seem to be running a fever."

"I don't feel like I have a fever, I'm just so tired all the time," I replied, yawning again.

"I haven't seen you like this since you were possessed by that demon last year." Even the thought of it seemed to cause him a lot of pain. He had spent days thinking I was going to die back then.

I sat up and kissed him. "I'm not possessed by a demon."

"Are you sure?"

"I promise. Back then I felt like something was consuming me. Now I just feel sick. I'm probably coming down with something."

He pulled me into his arms and hugged me tightly. I could tell he was very worried. "I hope so."

"I'm sorry for worrying you."

"Keh, don't be sorry, stupid." He placed a kiss on my lips. "I just want you to be okay."

"I will be. How about we go for a walk?"

"Are you sure you feel up to it?"

"Of course."

So that's what we did and I felt fine for the rest of the night. But this morning it started all over again. I woke up before Inuyasha but only because I felt so nauseous. He was sleeping peacefully with his arms around me and I didn't want to disturb him but the nausea became too much and rather than puke all over him, I took his arms from around me, jumped out of bed, and went to go throw up.

When I came back into the room he looked confused and concerned. "Throwing up again?"

I nodded. "I'm sorry I woke you up." I got back under the covers next to him.

He kissed my forehead. "It's okay. Would some tea help?"

"Sure, thank you, honey."

He went to go make the tea along with breakfast. After laying in bed trying to will my headache to go away I joined him and we sat down to eat. But shortly after eating, I once again couldn't keep it down and had to throw up again.

I joined Inuyasha on the couch afterward and he held my hands. "Kagome, you've been like this since we got back from Sesshomaru's house. I'm starting to get really worried about you. Maybe something else is wrong."

"I was feeling a little sick before we got back, actually," I admitted.

"You were?" he said incredulously. "Why on earth did you agree to go then?"

"I thought it was just a passing thing."

"Maybe you should see Kaede, baby. This could be serious."

His hands shook slightly as he circled his thumbs on them. He was really afraid something was wrong with me. I gave him a reassuring kiss. "I'll get ready to go now."

We got dressed and he went with me to Kaede's and sat up in his usual tree to wait for me.

When I got into Kaede's house, Sango was also there.

"Hi, Kagome," she said cheerfully.

"You look a bit troubled, dear," Kaede said as I sat down with them.

"I just haven't been feeling well for at least a week," I replied. "I was wondering if you'd have any insight on it."

"What's been going on?"

"Well, for one thing, I've been throwing up every morning."

Sango and Kaede exchanged a look that I couldn't really decipher. "Only in the morning?" Sango asked.

"For the most part. It's become extremely miserable to have breakfast because I can't seem to keep my food down."

"Tell me, child, what else has been bothering you," Kaede said.

"I've been unusually tired. I've also been getting a lot of headaches. Do you think I'm coming down with a fever or something?"

"Have you noticed any physical changes?" Sango asked.

"Like what?"

"Have your breasts gotten any bigger?"

I had noticed that a couple of days ago but didn't think anything of it. "Um, yeah."

"Have you missed your monthly cycle?" Kaede said.

I realized that was also true. "Yes…" Then it hit me. Were they about to say what I thought they were?

This time Kaede and Sango exchanged a smile.

"Kagome, I think you're pregnant," Sango said happily.

"Wh-what?"

Kaede nodded. There was also a smile on her face. "Those are all 100 percent early pregnancy signs."

I was so shocked I didn't know what to say. So many emotions passed through my mind that I didn't know how to respond to them. I was surprised, I was scared...and I was happy. Happiness was the one that won out and overshadowed everything else. I put my hand to my stomach and thought of me and Inuyasha's child growing in there. I was so happy I wanted to cry. "Oh my god…"

Sango reached over and hugged me. "This is so exciting! Your first child!"

"You know what you have to do now right?" Kaede asked.

"What?" I was so dazed with happiness I couldn't think of what I was logically supposed to do next.

"You have to tell your husband!" Sango said.

Of course, that made sense. But I was suddenly worried. This was such big news. I had no idea how he would react. "What do you think he'll say?"

"I think Inuyasha will be ecstatic," Kaede said, still smiling from ear to ear.

Sango stood up and pulled me up with her. "He's going to be so happy. I'm pretty sure he's still outside, you have to tell him now."

Kaede and Sango went out the door with me and I walked towards the tree Inuyasha was sitting in, my heart pounding with nerves. "Inuyasha?" I called to him.

He immediately jumped out of the tree and landed in front of me. "Did you find out what's wrong with you?"

"Well…"

His worry quickly began to shift towards panic. "Oh no, it's worse than we thought, isn't it?"

"No, no, it's not that at all."

Now he looked confused. "Then what is it?"

I picked up his hand and placed it on my stomach. "I'm pregnant, Inuyasha."

His eyes widened in shock. "You're…"

I nodded as a wide smile started to spread across my face. "Yeah. We're going to have a baby."

He was silent for a moment as he processed this but soon a smile slowly started to form. Then all of a sudden, he pulled me close to him and kissed me. Deep, passionate kisses followed. I gripped the front of his shirt while his arms were around me as the sheer happiness of the news overcame us. Afterward, we locked eyes, and the pure joy in his nearly made my heart melt.

"I love you," he said. Then he hugged me tightly. "I love you so much."

As I melted into his embrace, my eyes started to fill with tears - tears of the most amazing joy at this wonderful news, that this incredible man loved me so much, and that I would get to share this new journey of pregnancy and parenthood with him.

"I love you too, Yasha."
