May 5

I slept in unusually late today. I guess it's to be expected as I get further into my pregnancy. Although I was very tired, luckily I didn't end up spending my morning throwing up my guts.

Inuyasha had already left the house by the time I was out of bed but to my surprise I found breakfast waiting for me on the table along with a note. It said:

"My sweet Kagome,

I hope you're sleeping well. Enjoy your breakfast. I'll be home this afternoon. I love you so much, my beautiful wife.

Love,

Your husband."

I was smiling from ear to ear after I read that note. Inuyasha is the sweetest husband in the entire world. This is another note from him that I will cherish for the rest of my life.

I had breakfast and then I sat outside in our hammock reading one of my favorite books. I didn't have anything pressing to take care of today and I wanted to be home when Yasha got back so I could tell him how much I love him.

I wasn't keeping track of time but I must have sat out there for a few hours. Eventually, I heard someone calling my name and Shippo came over and sat on my lap.

"How are you doing, Shippo?" I asked, patting his head.

"I'm good. What are you reading?"

"It's called Lord of the Rings. It's a book from my era."

"What's it about?"

"It's a really interesting story where there is an evil ring that turns you invisible when you put it on. A bunch of bad guys are after it and a group of hobbits, those are creatures that are kind of like short people with big feet, and dwarves and a wizard have to go on a journey to destroy it before the bad guys get it."

"That sounds really interesting," Shippo said with excitement. "You've got so many cool stories in your era."

I noticed a cut on his arm and I pulled back his sleeve. "Shippo, how did you cut yourself?"

"I was playing with Kento and the other kids and then I fell into a bush. It doesn't hurt though, I'll be fine."

"You poor thing. Come inside with me and I'll wrap that up for you."

Shippo gave me a hug. "You're the best, Kagome."

We went inside and Nico, who was sitting on a tree branch nearby, followed us in. I sat Shippo down in the main room and went to get some first aid supplies. When I came back, I sat next to him and put a bandage on his arm.

"There you go," I said when I was done. "Now be careful of those bushes."

"I promise I will," he said as he started to play with Nico.

A few minutes later, Inuyasha came in. "Hey you two."

"Hi honey," I said, very happy to see him. When he sat next to me I pulled him in for a kiss. "Thank you for making me breakfast."

"Wow Inuyasha, I didn't think you were romantic like that," Shippo said jokingly.

Inuyasha raised his fist at him. "Shut up, Shippo! I'm always romantic!"

Shippo ran and hid behind me. "You may be romantic but you're still mean!"

Inuyasha stuck his tongue out at him and Shippo did the same to him.

I couldn't help but laugh. "Yeah, you two are really mature."

Inuyasha turned back to me and kissed my hand. "I was thinking, do you want to go out to lunch? We can go to our favorite cafe."

"That sounds wonderful," I said happily. I was about to kiss him but then Shippo jumped between us.

"That sounds fun. When are we going?"

"You aren't going anywhere," Inuyasha said to him.

"Aw, why not?"

"Because Inuyasha and I are going on a date, Shippo," I said as I gently patted his head. "This is just for the two of us."

Shippo sighed. "Alright, fine."

I turned to Inuyasha. "I'll go get ready." I went into our room and combed my hair, all the while being very excited about our little date. By the time I was done, Shippo was gone and Inuyasha was waiting impatiently for me. Then we set off to the cafe for our date.

"What are you getting this time?" Inuyasha asked when we were seated there.

"Hmm, I'm not sure," I replied as I looked at the menu. "I could get the sushi but then again I could also get the soup. The fish looks good too." Finally, I sighed. "I'm so hungry, I don't know what I should get."

"Just get all three," he replied.

"But that's going to cost so much more."

"You're eating for two now, honey. It's fine. Just as long as you don't eat all of my food again," he said with a smirk, obviously thinking about the other night and Miroku and Sango's house.

"Sorry about that."

He shrugged. "It's okay, it's something to get used to I guess. What matters more is that you and the baby are healthy."

I held his hands across the table. "I'm so lucky."

"Why's that?"

"Because you're so good to me and you've been taking such good care of me."

Inuyasha blushed a bit. "Well, I figure you're the one carrying the baby so I have to make sure you're safe and happy."

"You're doing a really good job at it so far."

At that point, the waiter came over and took our orders. I ended up getting sushi, soup, and fish and Inuyasha was amazed that I ate all of it.

After lunch, we walked around the town square for a bit since it was a nice day out. There were a few stands where people were selling things which we glanced at a bit. There was one where the person was selling handmade stuffed animals and other little dolls. I saw one that was especially adorable; it was a cream-colored teddy bear wearing a red knitted sweater.

"Inuyasha, look at this! Isn't it cute?" I said when I picked it up and showed him.

"Do you think the baby will like it?"

"I think so." I was practically bouncing up and down with excitement.

It made Inuyasha laugh. "Then we'll get it."

"Yay!"

It was the first thing we've gotten for our baby so far. We've got a lot more to get but I just know the baby will love this.
