[a/n0]As meingimli noted last time SoHDD has officially reached middle age. No danger of running out of 1shots. I think it will hit 250.

[a/n] The 2nd part of Scar-Bones will be after these messages. The inspiration came from The Howler by Mnementh1 and its summary … serial killer is targeting Death Eaters. Who could The Howler be? I look forward to the reviews. I make note of one review who had difficulty with reading underlined text. I've found that I have trouble with large sections of italicized text. If a story has that I transfer the whole thing to Word and unitalicize.

Harry Does Different CCCXDVII

Molly Weasley Saves the World

Severus Snape and Minerva McGonagall dueled ferociously in the Great Hall. It ended with the Headmaster being blasted through the stained glass window and the majority of the student body cheering. She turned her attention to the student body, looking for all the world as if she'd done nothing more than a strenuous workout. Only slightly out of breath she ordered "Mr. Filch, kindly escort Slytherin House to their Common Room and secure them there. Mr. Potter, good to see you. I assume you are here for a reason, what do you need?"

"Time more than anything else." The teen answered "Voldemort hid something here that we need to destroy."

The Headmistress nodded "Explanations can wait. The barbarians are gathering at the gates."

"RONALD WEASLEY WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!" echoed quite suddenly. The Weasley matriarch ran up and berated her son "GONE FOR MONTHS! Hermione, Harry wonderful to see you dears. WELL? WHAT HAVE YOU TO SAY FOR YOURSELF? I AM WAITING!"

Hermione and Harry couldn't help laughing at their friend turning red with embarrassment at getting dressed down so publicly. But then he got a thoughtful look "Ahhmmm, remember her howler? And I guess it was a couple years before we started Hogwarts. The Americans invaded some country near them."

"Panama." She supplied, "but what has this to do with us?"

Harry wasn't much interested in the name "And didn't they use sound as a weapon somehow?"

"Rock music to be precise. The dictator they were after didn't like rock music and I believe they played ACDC quite loud." She replied.

Harry nodded at that "Can we use it as a weapon? Would it be loud enough to kill?" he smiled over at his poor berated friend, or more accurately, the one doing the berating "Mrs. Weasley. I think you can help defend this castle against attack. I have two questions. How loud can they be? And, can we protect the school from it?"

"There has never been a test on such things, Potter." Replied McGonagall "But, as you recall the one from your Anglia incident, they have always been more than sufficient." She thought about the matter "The spell is rather complex and not easily changed."

Ron put in "I thought the one was more than enough."

"Why louder Harry?" asked Hermione.

He answered "Well…the one hurt so much…remember Lavender said it made her ears bleed. If it can hurt, I bet it can kill."

"The Weird Sisters had very big speakers." The seemingly irrelevant comment came from Luna Lovegood.

Hermione was all set to chastise her, but then paused "Could it be that simple? Mrs. Weasley, write out your letter and create the howler. No reason an engorgio shouldn't work."

"You two work that out, then check the Chamber. I'll go after the diadem." Said Harry before taking off at a run, Luna hot on his heels.

Molly Weasley completed her spellwork. McGonagall gave her favorite student a mildly severe look and ordered "Off you go Miss Granger. Professor Flitwick is, I think, more than capable of handling Potter's idea. And I believe you have other things to do."

"Engorgio!" the part-goblin teacher fired and the red envelope doubled in size. "Engorgio!" he repeated and by the time he was done, they had something the size of a billboard "I think this might fill his bill."

The voice of Lord Voldemort echoed through Hogwarts "This war has spilled too much precious magical blood. Unite with me and usher in an age of posterity. Those who cooperate will be richly rewarded. I am nothing if not a merciful lord."

Ten owls swooped into the Hall, landed on the massive envelope and flew their burden through the shattered window.

"And get as far away as you can as fast as you can!" McGonagall yelled after the messengers. Then she turned to her colleagues and gestured them into action "Next we put up a shield against attack, but incorporate into it a good number of Silencios."

Bellatrix Lestrange was the first to see it. She pointed up at the sky and screamed "Look Master! The school is responding!" The Inner Circle of Death Eaters had to move aside for the incoming message. It was massive, addressed MY LORD

"A howler? The poor scared fools must have wished to make sure everyone hears their submission." Voldemort assumed gleefully, and reaching to open it "Well let us see what dear Minerva has to say."

TOM MARVOLO RIDDLE

The letter exploded in the loudest sound the Dark Forest ever witnessed. Everything within a hundred feet of the sound, trees animals rocks people, everything, was simply shredded to tiny bits. A crater thirty feet across and ten feet deep was gouged out of the ground. The howler went on

HOW DARE YOU THREATEN THESE CHILDREN! ? ! HAVE YOU ANY IDEA WHAT YOU PUT THEM THROUGH? ! ? YOU ARE A DISGRACE TO THE NAME WIZARD! ! !

Further away trees were ripped from their roots and bodies were thrown back from the center. Seconds after the Dark Lord first opened the envelope, the voice had reached those a full mile away. At that distance few died, but they would never hear again. The devastation didn't touch Hogwarts, it was just out of range and the shielding held. An hour passed and no attack materialized. The remnants of Voldemort's army vanished, those healthy enough to withdraw that is. Thorfinn Rowle was the highest ranking survivor among the Death Eaters, he'd been whipping Greyback's pack of werewolves into a killing frenzy when the howler went off. He limped to the castle gates with those choosing to surrender. The Second Blood War was over.

"The final Order of Merlin, First Class, award of the evening" Interim Minister for Magic Ulick Ollivander was addressing the crowd at Hogwarts a month later "goes to Molly, affectionately known as The Voice, Weasley."

The recipient had to virtually be pulled on-stage by her husband, but got there. She only managed a faint "Thank you." Before fleeing.
