Chronus: The French had one of the worst colonial Empires in our timeline fighting for years to hold onto every scarp and it took the first and second worlds wars the Indochina war and the Algeria War for them to break.

My fellow Frenchmen we must slaughter every single beastlike traitor that dares stand against our most glorious empire. It is the duty of every true Frenchman to fight against the degenerate African traitors. They are betraying not just their god appointed overlords but humanity as a whole so all must fight against the monstrous African traitors. We will fight until every last one of the degenerates lies dead and the Tricolour will wave over their broken corpses. Our Empire was given to us by god himself and no degenerate African traitors can take it from us. So, march forwards my brothers and crush the traitors in their lairs. The French master-race will triumph over the Zionist backed traitors that lurk across our empire. If anyone dares stand against us the full might of the French Empire will be unleashed unto the degenerate African race. Hail France! HAIL VICTORY! HAIL THE FRENCH RACE!

The right honourable member of the government seems to have taken leave of his senses regarding the African issue. While yes the African people have stabbed us in the back with their revolt as a new foe arises, but we have repressed them for decades and slaughtered them in massacres that would feel at home under the Goa'uld. The way to resolve this issue is though peace and negotiations not bloodshed. I must also ask where the member got his insane view that Zionists are backing the Revolt the majority of humanities Zionists are in the Kingdom of the Arabs not in Africa aiding the revolts there. The views expressed by the right honourable member shows a clear disconnection from reality. What are those soldiers doing in here? Wait what's going on? What no mercy please! Mercy! Please have mercy! Please no I'm a loyal Frenchman I serve the Emperor and King Jean loyally. *gunshot*

The revolt in Madagascar is generally regarded to be the most successful revolt in the entirety of the Great African Revolt lasting the entire conflict until the Treaty of Brest in 1971 though to be fair by 1963 they were practically already free as France collapsed in on themselves. The revolt was led by King Radama III the only child of Princess Mari-Louise of Madagascar. He had been raised his entire life as a Madagascan nationalist when the revolt came along he was visiting London. He immediately booked a flight to Natal, then rented a small plane where he managed to successfully fly into the heart of the island. Where he convinced the revolts leaders to proclaim him as King Radama III in the heart of Antananarivo and the Kingdom of Madagascar was reborn.

He did this the day before the French detached a division to the island for Operation Glasses. The return of the Kingdom rallied the population around their rightful king which is why the revolt leadership managed to hide for so long. After all the French were able to overrun the revolting soldiers under the command of Gabriel Ramanantsoa easily but the leadership fled into the wilds where the natural charm of the King allowed him to convince villages to hide him and support his claim to liberate their nation. When the French found Antananarivo abandoned and the flags of the kingdom everywhere they knew that they would have scour every hamlet on the island to find the missing king and his government.

The initial hunts were nearly successful with several major rebel leaders captured and executed by the French, but the King and his core leadership escaped allowing him to build up an army for the final revolt. As the search dragged on the French decided that there were more important places for two divisions to be and withdrew all but the bare minimum garrison to scour the Sahara and the Sahel clean. This led to the King's message being broadcasted across the island easily with the French garrison awaking every morning to find Malagasy symbols scrawled everywhere they looked. In one particular case a garrison had their tricolour hauled down and replaced with the flag of the Kingdom. Now since this was only passive resistance and the garrison was moderate no major war crimes were committed until the 10th of March 1960 when the garrison's commander died of a heart attack and his replacement came in. A fierce French nationalist he immediately began to crack down in the most efficient way possible. War crimes and mass slaughter became his answer with children gunned down in the street and entire villages razed for aiding the Royalist government his regime was one of blood and slaughter bur what should on expect from Jean-Pierre Roux-Durrafourt.

As the extant of the barbaric actions that the French were committing began to make themselves clear to the rest of the world the joint monarchs of the French Federation decided to take it on themselves and their families to calm down tensions in the wider world. King Jean IV made use of his German connections and travelled alongside his wife Queen Sophie to the German Empire to discuss how the two states could enter a detente period. His co-monarch Emperor Napoleon VI went to the United Empire making use of his connections within the Home Isles. As they made several pro-French speaking tours their efforts would be stabbed in the back with the proclamation of the French Fifth Republic.

-Extract from Nathaniel 1st Duke of Mornington's book The Flames of Freedom: The Great African Revolt.

My fellow Frenchmen I am here today despite my wishes for our government has failed us in every way our decadent monarchs have betrayed the ideals of the revolution and our ruling classes have betrayed the French race. Seeing this treasonous failure, I could not stand back any longer and I have hereby formed a government of national salvation in the name of the Fifth French Republic. Across our god given empire degenerates have risen up against us but we will crush them with the full force of French arms. We will grind them into ash and dust if they dare stand against us for any longer. France will emerge triumphant now and forever more. Hail France! Hail Victory!
