Poison: Selflessly Selfish

Summary: Embry has asked Bella to choose…can she?

"Please," He begged, his nose skimming down her neck. Bella bit her lip, closing her eyes. "This is your life Em," She whispered, leaning back to look at his face. She ran her hand along his face, smiling sadly at him. As much as she wanted to tell him to fight it, she couldn't. Or could she? Would she?

What if she really was destroying something that could turn into something beautiful? She wanted him, and she knew he wanted her. But if they were meant to be, why didn't he imprint on her? What did Amber have that Bella didn't? She wanted to ask the God's what in the hell were they thinking.

As much as Bella thought she was making a horrible mistake, it actually turned out right for once. Neither of them was aware of what the strength of love could do. "No," She whispered, causing his eyes to snap to hers in disbelief, his lip curling upward.

He pushed her flush against the wall, tilting his head at her. "Don't you want me as much as I want you?" He asked, his breathing heavy as the lull of the imprint slowly started to wash over him. Bella nodded, fighting her tears. "That's the problem. I'm sorry Embry, but I'm just not the girl for you," She slipped out from under him, leaving him frozen.

"I need to go," She whispered, before heading back outside. The cool serene pull started to wash over his body like a waterfall, making him growl and shake his head. He didn't want this. The load roar of Bella's rust bucket washed over him like ice, making him push away from the wall.

She wouldn't leave him again. He had enough.

By the time he stalked outside, her truck was already down the driveway. He growled to himself, eyeing Sam as he came towards him. "I could smell you all over her. Embry, what the hell are you doing? How is that even possible? What about Amber?" He asked, shooting the woman a concerned glance.

"If I haven't popped the question in five years, I'm not going to. Sam. Driving down that road is my existence right there. Screw this imprinting bullshit. She's not leaving me again. I know what I want," Sam sighed closing his eyes.

Embry was never one to act like this, but Sam knew it had to be for good reason. He dug in his pocket, handing Embry the keys to his truck. "No sex in my truck," Embry raised a brow. "Nice thought," Becoming serious once more, Sam laid a hand on Embry's arm. "I don't know what the hell you've got going on, but what about Amber?"

Embry took a glance back her, shrugging. Amber was a nice girl, very understanding, but she wasn't Bella. "I honestly could care less…excuse me," Embry stalked off to Sam's truck, ignoring Amber's calling.

Sam sent a silent prayer, having no idea how to go about what he was about to say. 'Yeah, Embry doesn't actually love you, and he's probably going to mate with Bella,' Like that would go over well.

"Amber…"

Bella paced her old room, biting her lip. She knew Embry had to come. She learned a lot from the boys and about predators. The number one rule was to not give chase, and Bella was banking on the fact that this would push him over the edge.

She loved Embry, she knew that. But she also knew that Embry needed to be free first. She could tell Embry to fight it all he wants, but that doesn't mean that it'll stick. She kept glancing out of her window, her hope dying with every passing minute.

She froze as Sam's truck pulled up by the curb, and her heart lurched as the tan figure stepped out of the truck. Embry immediately stopped in his tracks, looking up at her window. She moved quickly then, unable to take it anymore.

Taking the stairs two at a time, she landed at the bottom, moving to open the front door. She could feel him before he even walked inside. There he stood on her porch, a disheveled mess. A beautiful mess. The second the door opened, he pushed forward, pushing her against the wall, shutting the front door with his foot.

He used his arms, caging her in. His eyes seemed brighter than before, and Bella could only stare at him in awe. "You came," She spoke. Embry could only nod, his body vibrating with need and want. "I'm not letting you leave again," He growled, one of his hands pulling her flush against him, his other hand tangled in her hair. "You gave chase to me. Why?" He purred in her ear, his nose skimming her neck once more, his teeth scraping against her flesh.

"I know you love me, but it had to be stronger than the pull to her," She whispered, whimpering in delight as he nipped at her skin forcefully. He growled in her ear, making her shiver. She let out a tiny gasp as he leaned back to look her in the eyes.

Nothing but the animal resided in his eyes, begging to be released and take what he wanted from the very beginning. He tilted her head back, placing small kisses on her neck, each one exposing his teeth. "Please," She whispered, her eyes never leaving his.

Embry's lips were like lava as they claimed hers, swallowing the moan behind the kiss, and he wasted not time plunging his teeth into her neck the moment she needed to breathe, the shackles tying him to Earth disappearing from around his heart.

"You can't leave me again," He whispered into her neck, his body finally relaxing in what felt like years. His tongue gently lapped at the wound, and Bella's soothing fingers ran through his hair. "What about Amber?" She asked.

Embry snorted, growling at the name. As if just saying it was a curse. "Fuck Amber," He resumed tending to the small crescent mark on her skin, and Bella could finally say she belonged.
