From this moment onwards the Kingdom of Madagascar will be the beacon of freedom. liberty, and Democracy in Africa. So, go out my brothers go out sisters and celebrate our liberation. And always remember the light of liberty can never go out it can only go dim and the light of liberty has returned to our island and it shall never leave it again. Long may our island be free! Long may we be free!
-Speech given by King Radama III following the liberation of King Madagascar.
Soldiers of his Imperial Majesty Nikolai III it is your duty to take this planet from the despicable leches of the Goa'uld. The planet may be well defended but you are soldiers of the Russ you have marched through the depths of Siberia to join the Army. Some of you worship the gods of yore such as Perun, while others follow the teachings of the Orthodox church of Moscow and all the Rus, but we are all Russian. The soldiers of Russia will never give in against the forces of the Goa'uld we will march through ice and fire if we need to. For it is the duty of every Russian soldier to fight for their people and fight for their Tsar! Fight against the leeches of the Goa'uld. God is with us! God is with the Tsar! God is with the Rus!

Sailors of the Imperial Russian Navy, it is your duty to liberate the people of the Rodina from a fear that inflicts there very soul the fear of the Goa'uld. From the depths of Siberia, to the streets of Moscow every Russian has a fear in their hearts a fear of the Goa'uld unleashing their wrath unto the Russian people. I know we do not all bear descent from the Kyivan Rus but if you from the mountains of Georgia or the steppes of Kazakhstan you are a soldier of the Tsar and you will make him proud. You serve you people and your empire. The Rodina will persevere forever against the Goa'uld if need by but let us not bring that day to come. Forwards sons of the Rodina forward in the name of the Rodina in the name of the Tsar.

Airmen of the Imperial Russian Air Force we are here for one reason and one reason only to reduce the Goa'uld to ashes. Right let's go do that shall we. What do you mean I have to speak for longer? Right fine. So, every airmen here has been through hell to qualify for the Air Force so prove yourselves worthy of our position. The people of the Rodina depend on you and you will fulfill that trust or die trying. The Goa'uld are parasitic leaches and we all know why we must fight against them. So, kill them with extreme prejudice if the need arises don't leave a single Goa'uld remain on this blasted rock. So, God save the Tsar! And many God save us! Onwards for the Rodina and for her children!
-Speech given by wing leader three eagles During the Battle of Gudovich.
Prior to the October Crisis the Revolt on Madagascar was on the verge of defeat with their hold reduced to a few small villages as the French scoured their way through the country. The sudden cessation of supplies meant that the French garrison was forced to withdraw from the vast majority of the country until they were relegated to a thin stretch of the western coast. This control was only definite during the day and at night the numbers of the French garrison slowly dropped down from suicide or murder. The final day of liberation came on the 26th of September. When the revolt swept from the jungle in the middle of the night. They hacked down the French guards and burst into the barracks and unleashed their wrath onto the French soldiers in their bed. When the sun rose the French garrison's, corpses hung from streetlamps.
With their deaths Madagascar had completely fallen to the rebels and was for all effects and purposes completely independent save for diplomatic acknowledgement. That was swiftly filled though with the Kingdom of Norway opening their embassy on the 10th of November bringing formal recognition to the young Kingdom. With Norway's recognition the recognitions began to flow in first from Africa, then Asia, then Europe, the Americas, and finally the greatest boon the United Empire in late 1963. When Emperor Edward VIII made his Imperial visit to the young nation the independence of the Kingdom of Madagascar was definitely secured. They were the first of many nations that managed to tear themselves free from the French, but they were far from the last.

The Battle of Gudovich despite how much the Russian Broadcasting Union celebrates it was in the grand scheme of Operation Lance was a very underwhelming battle with around three Goa'uld Ha'taks and four thousand Jaffa on the planet. The initial landing was uncontested with the Imperial Russian Air Force throwing the Jaffa into the empty parts of the planet. As the Russian forces pushed out across the planet they overwhelmed the scattered Jaffa in overwhelming firepower and numbers. However, the Jaffa managed to hold out for 34 days against the overwhelming odds of the Russian forces. When the last Jaffa fell they launched an assault into the now vulnerable heart of the Goa'uld Empire alongside the British forces.
