July 24

The play went so well yesterday and the kids haven't stopped talking about it since then. They received many compliments on it from everyone who attended and now it seems like they've caught the acting bug. I spent most of the day with them and they were acting out characters from different stories the entire time.

While they were having fun, Sango and I were sitting together drinking tea and at some point, Rin joined us.

"Clearly putting on a play was a really good idea, Rin," I said remembering that she was the one who first suggested it.

"I knew they would like it. I put on a play with some of my friends back in my home village. It was a really long time ago but I still remember how fun it was." She seemed to be swept off into memories. Rin had been through a lot before Sesshomaru found her. I'm sure it's something she doesn't like to think about too often.

"It made the kids happy, that's for sure," Sango said comfortingly.

"Is anything else fun happening soon?" Rin asked.

"Miroku and I are planning a vacation soon so that's going to be fun for me," Sango said.

"A family vacation or what?"

"Just an us vacation," Sango said happily. "Mom and dad have to have some alone time sometimes."

"When you get back should we expect a baby from you in nine months?" I said with a wink.

"Ooh, more babies!" Rin said happily.

Sango giggled. "That wasn't really the plan but if it happens, it happens."

"What about you and Inuyasha?" Rin said to me.

"At this point, we're just getting ready for the baby," I said as I put my hand to my growing stomach. "There's still so much to do."

"You know what I always wonder? How come you guys never go on a double date?"

Sango and I exchanged a glance.

"That would be interesting," she said.

"I guess it's something we've just never thought of before," I added.

"Well, why not do one soon?" Rin said.

"You know Rin, that's actually a really good idea," Sango said. "We might just have to take you up on that."

Shortly after we had that conversation, Inuyasha and Miroku got home from their latest demon extermination trip.

Inuyasha sat next to me and kissed me. He also put his hands on my stomach as he often did now to comfort the baby and I loved it. "How did everything go?" I asked.

"We almost died."

"What?!"

Then he started laughing. "I'm just kidding, baby!"

I pushed his arm. "You're annoying." I tried to be mad at him but when he kissed me again I just couldn't resist smiling.

"You're going to make the poor girl's blood pressure go up," Miroku said, although he, Sango, and Rin were laughing a bit too.

"So how did it really go?" Sango asked.

"It was fairly standard. They had quite a few demons to dispose of but they were weak."

"Sango and Kagome have a proposition for you," Rin said to them.

"And what would that be?"

"Don't you think it would be fun to go on a double date?" I asked them.

"Sure, why not?" Inuyasha replied.

"I'm always down to go out with two beautiful ladies," Miroku said. "Where do you want to go?"

"Maybe a nice dinner," I suggested.

"I also know there's a concert in a few days," Sango said. "Might be nice to go to that."

"You girls have got a deal then," Miroku said.
