Please: Let Me Love You

"Then stay," Embry murmured against her temple, breathing in her soft scent. Bella nuzzled her nose into his neck, her arms tightening around him. "What if you…" She trailed off, pausing in thought. Embry shook his head, his fingers gently caressing her face. "You're all I'm gonna want."

He tugged on her hand, bring her inside, leading her to the living room. "I know for a fact that no matter what you become, or what you decide, you won't be able to forget what we did. How we felt. I was here when Jake wasn't around. I was here when Edward never showed. You confessed to me your deepest desires and secrets. How you really felt. Jacob's jealous because I talk about you 24/7. But he doesn't know you like I know you Bella. No one does." Bella smiled at him. "Did you just quote Eminem and change the words?" Embry shrugged, smiling down at her. "Maybe,"

Bella swatted at his arm, laughing. "Just…look around and tell me you'll forget…everything," Bella looked at him for a long moment, running her fingers through his hair. Embry closed the space between them, laying his hand on her chest, right above her heart. He grabbed her hand, placing it over his heart, tilting his head down at her. "Even our hearts beat in sync. We're meant to be Bella. From the start. You were the girl in Jacob's garage that ever paid me any attention. I saw you that day with Jacob out on the road when you saw me jump. You were concerned for me. I need you, and deep down you need me. I make you laugh, I make you smile, this is us. You don't have to say goodbye. I'll never endanger you. You wouldn't have to change for me Bella,"

Bella could feel the strong beat of his heart with every word, her fingertips vibrating with each thump. She glanced into his dark brown eyes, looking into his very soul.

Emily awkwardly patted the young wolf's back, looking at Sam who shrugged. "I just don't get it. I thought we had something, I thought I could've changed her mind. If she just gave me the time," Emily frowned, keeping her personal feelings to herself.

"Well, it just wasn't meant to be," She spoke softly. The young man lifted his head, giving her the puppy dog eyes. "That kiss we shared felt so…I shouldn't have left, maybe then she would've…." Sam sat at the table, sighing heavily. "Jacob. You can't fight who you love, and we can't deny that she and Embry became quite close. Even if you hadn't left, she would've gone to him," Jacob glanced at the table, looking back up at Sam. "How do you know?" Sam glanced at Emily, grabbing her hand. "They're meant to be. Listen," They quieted, Jacob's eyes narrowing. "When they're in the same room, their hearts beat in sync. They look for each other in a crowded room. The signs were all there. She would have changed her mind. Just not about you,"

Edward Cullen sat on his bed, reading the neat handwriting that was Bella's. She had made up her mind and do what he always wished. She'd remain human. Have everything he'd be taking away. A human family. "Edward, we're packing the last few items. We should leave before dawn," Edward nodded, shooting Esme a sad smile. He'd fall in love again. One day. But no human would be like Bella Swan.

The End.
