Murder in the Museum

Summary: A night out for the pack and their human turns out to be a nightmare when they get locked inside a museum. To make matters worse, there's been a murder.

Side note: Leah did not phase.

Pairing: Bella/Paul

Paul had to admit that she looked beautiful. Her hair was up in a neat bun, and she was dressed in a black, lacey dress that stopped at her ankles. Around her neck was a small diamond necklace with what looked like a sun pendant. Although she didn't need it, she had on eyeshadow and mascara, along with a pair of black heels that brought her just at 5'5.

Paul wasn't ashamed as he looked her down from head to toe. He met her brown eyes, whistling softly. "You clean up good Swan," He held out his hand for her as she came down the porch steps. Bella blushed, used to Paul's flirtatiousness, but she took the compliment from the heart.

"So do you, never seen you in a Tux," He led her over to the Jeep that Sam rented just for the night. "Well you said we had to dress fancy," He opened the door for her, sliding in next to her. Bella had decided that the boys needed a little fun in their lives, and with the help of Kim and Emily, they decided to reserve a night to attend the Grand Opening of the museum in Seattle. Embry, Seth, and Quil decided to tag along, hoping to find 'art' in the female variety.

Paul only agreed because it gave him a chance to finally make a move. It was no secret he had a thing for the woman, and she wasn't any the wiser. He was always flirting with her, getting on her nerves, and was very physical with her even when the situation didn't call for it.

"We really do need this," Sam responded, backing out of the driveway. Bella glanced out of the window during their drive, leaning her head on Paul's shoulder. His hand laid on her waist comfortably, something Bella didn't mind, and Paul loved the twinkle in her eye when she gets excited.

He watched her face the whole time, soaking up her features. Sam pulled up to the valet, and their doors were opened, a hand each helping the women out. The museum was huge, with a large GRAND OPENING sign in the front, bodyguards and tour guides standing around, waiting for the doors to open. They waited in line as each person was to give a ticket. Each person could bring two guests maximum. Paul's was Bella's, while Embry had his own ticket, Quil being his guest. Kim brought Jared, and Emily brought Sam.

Bella handed over her ticket with a smile, looking at the large lights the surrounded the place. She moved from Paul's hold to be with the girls, the three taking the lead to the entrance. The boys fell behind, their attention on their women. Jared nudged Paul's arm, tilting his head in Bella's direction. "I hope you don't just plan on watching her all night. You need to make your move man before somebody else does. Okay, look. The dude at 11', looks like he's seen the finest diamonds. Guy next to him, well, he might be looking at all of them, but you can't tell me he didn't just check out Bella's ass,"

Sam chuckled. "Jared leave Paul alone. He'll make his move. She's not going to be around forever though. Might as well tell her how you feel. Jared is right though, the bouncer at 2,"

Sam and Jared snickered as Paul gave them dirty looks before walking ahead, capturing Bella's attention once more, his arm weaving around her waist. "How can one girl be that oblivious?" Jared asked. Sam shrugged. "It's Bella,"

They caught up to the group, and the men were surprised to find that a lot of men actually attended these types of things. A slim, tall man stood in front of everyone, a smile on his face. He had a thick mustache that curled at the edges. "Thank you to those of you who decided to join us at our Grand Opening. We hope you enjoy the vast collections of art and beauty." With a large pair of scissors, he cut the red ribbon, the doors opening. Everyone clapped before being let inside.

Sam and Jared quickly caught up with their imprints while Embry and Quil trailed behind, trying to look interested. "You two look constipated," Paul murmured next to them, causing Bella to laugh, hitting his arm softly. "Come on," She smiled, tugging on his arm.

Paul let Bella lead, smiling softly at her enthusiasm. They entered a smaller room with two small head to chest sculptures and a few large paintings hanging on the wall. Bella sat on the bench, looking at the painting above her.

It was a man and a woman, the woman sitting on a small bench herself, the man standing behind her, looking at her with adoration. Bella thought they oddly looked like herself and Paul if the man were a bit taller. Bella tilted her head at the painting, mimicking the woman's own expression. A few people walked by some gawking in awe at the resemblance.

Paul laid his hand on her bare shoulder, thinking of what he was going to do next. From afar stood Kim and Emily, both with big smiles on their faces. "Come on," Emily whispered, pulling Kim away. "It's beautiful isn't it?" Bella whispered, looking up at him. "Yeah," He nodded, his never wavering from hers.

Paul sat down, taking her hand in his. "I need to come clean with you Bella," She squeezed his hand, turning to give him her full attention. "God, you're just so beautiful," He murmured. Recognition flashed across Bella's face, and she mentally facepalmed at her own obliviousness.

It made sense. Yet it didn't. How could someone like him, see something in her? "What is it?" She asked, hoping her smile would encourage him to say whatever it was he was about to say. He opened his mouth to speak, but before anything could be said, the museum lights suddenly turned off, a dim, red light switching on it its place. "What the hell?" A few murmurs could be heard all around from different rooms. Bella started to make her way towards the entrance of the small room, Paul behind her.

"Do you guys have any idea what's going on?" A couple entered from one room, looking around. "No, not at all," Bella responded. The young girl grasped her boyfriend's hand in fright. "This isn't normal for a Grand.." A scream pierced the air, echoing through the halls. Bella and Paul shared a glance at one another. "That sounded like Emily," Paul grasped Bella's hand, the two running towards the sound. They went through an array of rooms, Paul trying to find the scent he was looking for.

They happened upon another room where their pack stood, Bella, stopping in her tracks at the dead body on the floor. She grasped the back of Paul's shirt, turning her head to look at her 'family'. "Girls, just what kind of museum are we in?" Sam asked, holding a clearly shaken Emily close.

AN: So when I was writing this, I didn't intend for it to go this way, but the thought popped into my head, and I thought, 'why not?' More parts coming soon!
